Leah was among the first to arrive at her father's funeral. Her mom and her siblings were there before her. Her mom was in a long black dress with her hair up in a bun. Her sister Kayla was in a black polka dotted dress, and her brother Kyle was in a grey baby suit. Leah sat in one of the chairs in the row next to her mother. She fixed up her black dress and her half up hair. Leah sighed while looked at her father's casket. A tear ran down her cheek as she walked toward her mother. "At least you got to see him i his final days you all." She said while hugging Kyle, then Kayla. Why did he have to go so soon? Leah thought sadly. Leah went back over to her chair and sat down. Leah went up to her father's casket and rubbed the maple wood. "I wish I was able to see you while you were alive." Leah whisper to him, even though he was dead. Some guests had arrived, but a lot more were to come. Leah burst into tears while walking to her chair. She waited for all the guests to come. The piano player started playing a song, and the singer started singing. I'm already there Take a look around I'm the sunshine in your hair I'm the shadow on the ground I'm the whisper in the wind I'm your imaginary friend And I know I'm in your prayers
(This lyrics are from Lonestar's I'm already there, I recommend it to anyone. It's a sad song really.)

If there was ever a horrible day in Hogwarts for Morgan, this was it. She had gotten up early to get ready for her friend Leah's fathers funeral. She had dressed in a a knee length black dress. She had left her blond hair natural instead of changing its color as she usually did. She had on some black heels and tan colored tights. Slipping on her golden cross necklace she grabbed her purse and black blazer. Thirty minutes later she had arrived at the funeral. She saw Leah crying in a seat near the casket. Walking next to her Morgan sat down, a solemn look on her face. "Are you going to be okay?" Morgan asked quietly not really knowing what to say. Giving Leah a small hug she waited silently for the service to begin, wondering what happened during a funeral service, this being her first one. Listening to the pianist and singer play Morgan glanced around the room, wondering if there was anyone there other than Leah she knew.
She saw three people imparticular she figured where Leah's siblings and mother. Glancing at them she noted the small resemblances they shared.
(sorry it's so short, I am unsure of what to write, I just saw that I was invited.)

Drew had dressed himself as far from his normal personality as possible. He couldn't believe that Leah's father had died. It was something that was foreign to him. He had never dealt with death before in his family and now he was going to be going to a funeral of one of his friend's father. He wanted to be there for Leah. It was perhaps the only reason he had agreed to go. He didn't know why he felt the need to protect her, but he did. He wanted her to be safe and feel happy. He didn't want to see her upset or angry or sad. He wanted to see that brilliant smile that she had, that lit up her entire face with a glow that he couldn't even picture. He fixed the long black tie on his neck before he turned to his parents and nodded. They were going to be dropping him off at the funeral. He had asked them not to stay, but he wasn't sure if they would heed his wishes. He ran a hand through his unnaturally fixed hair and walked to the car.
Drew stepped from the car and waved his family away. He trudged into the funeral and immediately found Leah. He moved quickly to her as he saw the tears running down her face. He placed a hand on her back and smiled at her in an apologetic way. "Hey, I'm here. Is there anything I can do for you?" he asked. He wanted to help her so much, but he seemed so far from being able to do so. He heard the words of the song being sung in the background. The words tore at his soul and heart. He had never been around much death and now it seemed to be surrounding him and drowning him in it. His eyes fell on the casket at the front. He knew that within that casket was the body of a man he had never met, but a man that had had a great influence on his daughter. A man that would never be there to walk his daughter down the aisle. The thought crushed Drew's heart. He felt pity for Leah and he couldn't help but reach out and grab her hand squeezing it in his gently. Hoping that this little bit of affection could help her move on.

Kia sighed mournfully, twisting her blonde hair up into a bun. Today was not a good day. Far too many memories of another funeral to make her calm enough to properly comfort Leah. That was one of the things that most fustrated Kia. Her friend was hurting but she couldn't even comfort her properly because of the memories of the last funeral she had attended. "Pull yourself together," Kia muttered to herself angrily, pulling at a lock of hair roughly and pinning it up into the bun, ignoring the automatic flinch of pain. Kia faced the mirror squarely, refusing to back down, determined to see this funeral through and comfort her friend in whatever way possible. Leah had been a friend, albeit not an extremely close friend but a friend nonetheless, for roughly three years and Kia would not let her down. Not today of all days. Not when Kia's memories of her mothers funeral could possibly help her friend.
Kia sighed, leaning back into her uncles hug and willingly accepting the small grain of comfort and strength that he could offer her. A small tear escaped from the corner of her eye and her father stepped forward to wipe it away, dropping a gentle kiss on her forehead and turning her to face the door firmly. "This girl needs you, right now. Do not let me down on this, Kiana. You will go and you will comfort her in any way you can." Her dad's gaze softened slightly at the strong nod from his oldest daughter and he fastened a silver cross around her neck gently. "Robbie will drive you there." Her dad smiled apologetically, regretting that he hadn't taken more interest in the muggle world, for the first time. Still, his brother would be there to comfort his daughter and that would have to be enough. Kia nodded stiffly, unable to raise the strength to act like her usual bouncy self. Not that it would be appropriate in these circumstances anyway.
The first thing that Kia saw when she arrived at the funeral, was Leah, Morgan and Drew. Kia shook her head warningly as her uncle started to get out of the car and he settled back down, realising that she had to do this by herself. "Leah," Kia offered a sad smile to her friend, putting a hand on her shoulder gently."How are you holding up? Is there anything I can do for you, for your family?" Kia shrugged awkwardly, overwhelmed with concern for her friend but not sure exactly what she could do to help. "I know that my aunt would be willing to look after Kyle and Kayla for a while if your mum needs time to herself and you know that you're always welcome at my house, even if you just want to talk or if you need to get away for a few hours." Kia glanced toward Leah's family quickly, concerned for her family also. Funerals affected everyone and, while Kia's main concern was for Leah at the moment, she also wanted to make sure that Leah's mum and siblings was going to be alright. Aunt Amelia woul be only too happy to help, Kia knew that without even asking. Just as she knew that she would do anything possible to help her friend.

Leah saw Andrew offering a hand. She took it and patted the chair next to her for him to sit. She stopped crying but, was really quiet. "Guys, take a seat." Leah said to all of them. Kiana walked down to her. "I'm not doing so good, I'm already crying and the funeral hasn't even started." Leah while sighing. "This isn't going to be easy for me." Leah said while looking back at to entrance. "Have you guys seen Derrick and Mellisa?" Leah asked them all. Those were her two best friends and she really want them to be there. Leah walked over to Kyle and brought him back to her seat. "This is my baby brother Kyle. He's only a year and a half old." Leah said with a small smile.
Leah waved for Kala to come over. ''This is Kayla. She's 5 years old." Leah said while looking at her. "Hey I'm thix!" Kayla said. "She still can't pronounce her S's right." Leah said half smiling. "Dadda" Kyle said slowly. Leah smiled as he said it, but then frowned. Leah looked over at the coffin. "That was his first words.." Leah said while a tear running down her cheek. "To but my father wasn't here to here that." Leah said while crying. "Where's daddy?" Kayla asked again. Leah slowed down on the crying a little bit. "Um, Kayla.. Daddy's in there."Leah said while pointing at his coffin and crying. "You mean he's dead?" Kayla said while crying. Leah looked over at her mom rushing to the bathroom.
"I can't hold Kayla, can somebody set her on their lap or comfort her?" Leah asked while looking around.

"It was never going to be easy," Kia smiled gently as she slipped into a seat, gladly taking up the offer of sitting down. "But you have friends to help you. You'll make it through - even though it doesn't seem like it now." Kia smiled wisely, dredging up her own memories and remembering how she had felt in order to match it to Leah's situation and hopefull making her comfort more effective. Kia smiled as Leah introduced her brother and sister, remembering when her younger sister was those ages. So cute at both ages but so much easier to control at nine years old. Kia winced as Kayla started crying, suddenly remembering exactly why she was glad that Kae had grown up. "I'll take her," Kia offered, used to crying children. And Kae had certainly been a crying child. Nothing would calm her. "Sssh," Kia whispered to the crying child, opening her arms in a gentle offer of comfort. During the many years of a crying baby sister, Kia had learned that a child would calm quicker if they chose to go to you for comfort. it might not work on Kayla but it had a good enough chance of working for Kia to try it. "But no," Kia looked back up at Leah, remembering her earlier question. "I haven't seen Derrick nor Melissa but I'm sure they'll both be here soon."

Seeing Drew and Kia arrive made Morgan feel a little beter. They prbably had more expierience in this area, for she hadn't lost anyone yet, and hoped she wouldn't anytime soon. Feeling selfish she shook the thoughts from her head to where Leah was introducing the two little kids she had been looking at earlier. Feeling sorry for the boy she figured he probably wont even remember his father when he gets older. Looking at Leah she watched for signs of anger. She knew many felt it when somone they loed died but she wasn't sure hwat Leah was feeling other than sorrow. SeeingKia put The Girl named Kayla into her lap Morgan was lost for words. She had no idea of what to say. Everyone was probably asking the same questions over and over again and it might be annoying Leah or irritating her which made Morgan very unsure. She would definately get annyed if someone was saying that to her over and over again. Placing her hands in her lap she smiled apoligetically at Leah hoping she understood that Morgan was at a loss for words.

The song had ended and the funeral started. Everyone lowered down to a whisper, and then silence. "This man was not only a ordinary man, he was a father, a husband, and an auror." The priest said and went on. Leah cried silently as the funeral went on. Leah's sorrow buried her heart, and the the thoughts of their fights that Leah never apologized. She rested her head on Andrew's shoulder as they got ready to bury him. Her mother went up there and said her final good bye's. Leah couldn't walk up there as much as she wanted to. They lowered the casket into the ground and threw the dirt on top of it. The funeral was over but, nobody left. Slowly people left and when half the guests where gone Leah, walked up to the tombstone. Leah dropped on her knees in front of it and cried. Her heart felt as if it was gone. Leah's mom walked up to her. "This was your father's will. It said that he gave his wedding ring, wand and garnet necklace that he never took of to you." Her mother said while looking at her. Leah turned around and looked at her. She was holding all of those out to her. Leah put on the ring and necklace. "The ring doesn't fit." Leah said while taking it off. "We'll have to fix that." Her mother said while charming it to fit her finger. Leah put it back on and took his wand. Leah walked back to her seat and just stared at the wand. The piano and singer started singing again. It was just as heart ripping as the last one. When I close my eyes You're all I see In the dark of night You're in my dreams Throughout the day You're easy to find You're always there When I close my eyes ((This one's from Kenny Chesney's When I close my eyes. And this post isn't over just yet.))

Blinking back tears of soorow from Leah's pain Morgan sat beside her, unsur eof what to do, or what movements to make. So far only three of Leah's friends had shown up, including Morgan, and Morgan was very weird felt. You'd think more people would have shown up by now. But seeing as the services obviously hadn't completely started yet Morgan sat ther dumbfounded.

The alarm rang in Stryder house for him to get up and he slowly did. Stryder knew what today was and he hated that it was here. Stryder was asked to go to Leah's father's funeral. Stryder didn't know Leah all that much but he would be there for her, she was friends with all of Stryder's friends and he saw her as his friend though they didnt' talk much. Stryder got dressed and made his way out to the kitchen where his uncle was waiting for him. His uncle was going to go to the funeral because he knew of Leah's father, Andrew Kerkman. Leah was after a pureblood therefore Stryder's uncle knew all about Leah and her family.
Stryder on the other hand knew nothing about her dad except for the fact that his name was Andrew, he was a pureblood, and he was an auror. Stryder didn't think he had ever met the man, he wasn't sure though, you meet a lot of people that you don't necessarily remember. He knew one thing though, and that was that he raised Leah well.
Stryder got in the truck and didn't know what to think about. He wasn't sure how he was supposed to act at the funeral and what he was supposed to do. Stryder had only been to one other funeral that he could remember and that was the MacMasters friend Tony, who had died of cancer. Stryder didn't know Tony but couldn't help to feel bad that there was barely anyone at the funeral. He hoped this would be a lot different.
They got to the graveyard and Stryder was relieved to see a bunch of people. He got out of the car with his uncle and was about to walk away until his uncle grabbed his shirt and gave him a rose. "I want you to give this to Leah. She'll appreciate it." Jeff said as Stryder looked at the red rose. Stryder then watched as his uncle pulled out another two roses that were instead silver. He gave one of them to Stryder and told him to put it on Andrew's grave. Stryder nodded his head in understandment and watched as his uncle left to talk to people. Stryder immediatly saw Leah holding hands with Drew, Kia with a kid on her lap, and Morgan sitting near the front. Stryder started walking towards them when the music stopped playing and a man started speaking. He immediatly sat in the first seat he could find which was in the back right next to a weird looking lady.
Stryder listened to the service apprehensively. He wanted to learn about Andrew and his life. Stryder glanced over to Leah who was crying, he couldn't blame her though, Stryder wouldn't know what he would do if his uncle died, he hadn't lost anyone close to him and he was lucky for it. The funeral seemed to go by fast. It was over but no one stirred except for the lady sitting next to Stryder who grabbed onto his shoulder and started crying. Stryder watched as people started moving and as Leah got up and walked over to where her father lay. Stryder couldn't hear anything over the ladies moaning and weeping but he saw some other lady, which he presummed was Leah's mom, hand leah a wand and some other stuff.
Stryder would have walked over but the depressed lady was still clutching him. Stryder patted her back and hoped that she would let go. She finally did, and clutched on to what appeared to be her husband, and Stryder immediatly got up and walked over towards Leah before the depressed lady sought him out again. Stryder wanted to give Leah some space considering he didn't know her that well but at the same time wanted to let her know that he cared. He had almost forgotten about the roses and decided that he would approach Leah.
She was now sitting back in her seat with everyone. Stryder walked towards them as the band started playing again. He listened to the lyrics and he twirled the red rose in his hand. He finally reached everyone and nodded to them all with a small smile.
"Hey Leah. I'm really sorry for everything. If there's anything I can do, well let me know. This is for you." Stryder slowly muttered those sentences to her before he handed her the red rose as he held on tightly to the silver one. He didn't really know how to make things alright for Leah. This was a tough situation and Stryder honestly didn't know how to give advice on something like that. Stryder turned a nearby chair around so he could join the group and folded his fingers around the silver rose as he tried listening to the end of the song and give Leah some space.
((Sorry its so long... and good song choices. I love those songs))

Walking in and out of his room Derrick passed back and forth. Leah's father's funeral was today and he had to go. He needed to go to be there for Leah. She had been threw so much, her father woke up and then fell back into a coma and now he is gone. It hurt him so much just thinking about it. He had never known his father but if he had and if he had lost him he bet he would not be able to go on and this thought scared him. He was usually calm and laid back in most situations but this was totally different. Being around dead bodies made him extremely nauseas but he still had to go for Leah. He couldn't let her be alone at a time like this she needed him. Sitting down on his bed he loosened up the tie he had but on and set his face in his hands. This was so not like him to be so worried and scared but he couldn't help it.
Looking up as he heard a nock on the door he watched as his mother walked in. "Honey it is almost time to go." She said as she sat down next to him on his twin size bed. Looking up at her he said nervously "Are you going to come to the funeral with me or are you just going to drop me off?" He didn't want her at the funeral because he new she would just make things worse for Leah. He loved his mother very much but she tended to say the wrong things sometimes. "Don't worry honey I am not going." She said knowingly "Tell the family that I send love Ok?" Letting out a relived breath he said "I will".
Standing up he walked out of his bedroom and out to the car that was already started outside. Watching as his mom slid into the driver's seat he said sincerely "thank you mom I really appreciate you doing this." Smiling slightly she turned and said "anytime" With that she backed the car out of the driveway and drove to were the funeral was being held.
Saying goodbye to his mother he stepped out of the car and skimmed the crowd until his eyes found Leah. She was sitting down in a chair and there was an empty seat next to her. He walked quickly over to her and sat down next to her. She was crying. Wrapping one arm around her he said "I am here if you whenever you need me you now that right?"

Leah felt an arm go around her. She looked next her and saw Derrick there. Leah hugged him and heard what he said. "Yes, I know that. She said while wiping a tear. She felt so much better when he came. Leah sighed. She looked back at her mother and saw her going home. She waved for Leah to come. "Do you want to come to my house?" Leah asked while standing up. Hopefully he would say yes because after their lack time together at Hogwarts. Leah held up a finger for her to wait so maybe Derrick could visit her. Stryder came up and gave her a red rose. "Thanks Stryder."Leah said while taking it. Stryder put two other red roses to her father's grave. Leah thought she saw a hand trying dig out of the ground.
Leah had ran over there. Her father was alive! But it was only a dream. She only collapsed because she cried so much, she had an asthma attack. Leah had a little asthma, it only acted up when she cried to much. Luckily, she woke up with her head on Derrick's shoulder. Her mother was standing over her, and other people.

Once Derrick came Stryder felt good enough to walk over to the gravestone. Stryder looked it over. It was a nice one, he deserved a nice one, even though Stryder didn't know him. He looked down and remembered to put down the silver flower like his uncle had told him to. The other rose was already there meaning that Jeff had already visited. Stryder knelt down and carefully placed the silver rose next to all the other flowers. He didn't really know what to say and couldn't think of anything to say.
"You seem like a great guy. Leah loves you a lot. Thanks for protecting the wizarding world."
Stryder couldn't help but wonder if Leah's dad had any connection to Stryder father. He wondered if Leah's father had been the auror his father had had a bad encounter with. He couldn't be though.
Stryder stood up to see Leah walking over. He looked at her and she seemed freaked out. He was going to ask her what was wrong but she suddenly panicked and passed out. Stryder knelt next to her and shook her to see if she would wake up. People were running over and Stryder got out of the way. He didn't know what was going and he didn't know anything about healing. The best thing would to be getting out of the way. Stryder quickly got up and pushed his way out of the crowd surrounding Leah as he looked for his uncle.
Stryder finally found Jeff and his uncle asked him what had happend. Stryder shrugged his shoulders and looked back over to where Leah was. He was glad to see that she was awake now with her mom. Stryder would let her relax before going over to her again. He hoped that he hadn't done anything to upset her, that's all he needed.

As Leah hit the ground Morgan almost screamed. Glad she was able to hold all of her emotions in at the moment she waited for Leah to wake up, just as every one else did. Seeing many people looking at Leah Morgan backed up, deciding she was crowded enough. She now knew she hated funerals. The service had been horribly sad and then the burrial had been even worse, especially with LEah fainting. Morgan herself was getting dizzy, but she knew she wouldn't let herself come close to fainting, that would make her feel horrible, especially when she didn't even know Leah's father. Groaning with dreariness she looked at Leah who was now awake. She tried smiling again, but she fugured all that came onto her mouth was a crinkled face with abarely curved line as her lips.
Lfting herself out of te chair she had been in Morgan walked over to Leah as the crowd thinned out. "You okay?" she asked quietly, wondering how many times she had been asked that already.
