It was a gloomy Tuesday afternoon in London, a rather depressing looking day to be arriving in the city, but Sethia hadn’t chosen today because of the weather. She carried her suitcase in one hand, traveling the streets towards the Leaky Cauldron. She was staying there for a few days before going to stay with Payton, something that was still giving her mixed feelings. She understood that things were different and had already committed herself to acting ‘normal’ around him. She was going to make the best of things, she was going to get her books, do a little shopping for her aunt and then of course get new robes for school. She had it planned, she knew what she had to do and she was going to do it, this was going to be a good trip she was going to make sure of that.
She pushed opened the door to the Leaky Cauldron, a few faces leaving their drinks to look at her, but they soon returned to what interested them more. She walked over to the bar and gave a smile, “I didn’t think I’d see you again,” the bartender said with a grin as he pulled a silver key from under the bar. She gave him a warm smile, “I’m glad to see you again. How are things?” What followed was a twenty-minute conversation, during which Sethia had taken a seat and gotten herself a butterbeer. After finishing her drink she hopped off the stool, excusing herself, and then heading up the stairs to her room, room # 6.
After unpacking, she sat on her bed utterly bored and not really caring to sleep or read. There was nothing to do, outside was gloomy, but it was better than being cooped up. She grabbed her coat again and shoved her arms into quickly, stuffing her key into her pocket with her purse and trotting out the room. She took the stairs quickly and then weaved her way through the tables and out the door into the street. She pulled the hood of her coat over her head, covering the blonde mop of her hair on her head, and then stuffing her hands into her pockets she began to walk the streets of London aimlessly.
She looked like a typical Londoner; boots on against the biting wind and that was chilled by the new subsided rain; jeans a camisole and a thick coat. She listened to her feet as they slapped the pavement, her eyes looking into every window she passed. Walking lost in thought with your eyes not looking ahead of you, was probably not the most intelligent thing for her to be doing, but she never claimed to be the smartest person and besides the windows gave her a little hope with their bright lights and flashy enticements.
