Cass walked down the stairs from the second floor into the Grand Foyer wearing a set of red and blue velvet robes. Lust had apparently special ordered them from Italy for her. Not that Cassandra wasn't grateful, but she had grimaced for over an hour while seamstresses tried to fit them. It honestly didn't matter how the robes fit. Cass looked uncomfortable in them, and she had stepped on the hem at least twenty times since she left her bedroom. Walking down the stairs without tripping had been a challenge, and she was soon glad to have her feet find the marble floor. The Manor was extremely cold. She wasn't quite sure why her Aunt liked to keep the place so cold, but she always felt like she walking around in a meat locker. Just last night, she had to summon a house elf to start a fire in the middle of the night. She had piled so many blankets on her bed by then it nearly suffocated her.
Walking by a mirror, she stopped and looked at her hair. She had taken extra care getting ready since Liam was due for dinner. She wanted to look good, that was for certain. It had been almost two weeks since she had seen him, and she missed him terribly. Too think, last year she wouldn't of thought twice about Liam during the holidays, but things had changed drastically since then.
Going into the kitchen, she saw several house elves scurrying around making another r scrumptious meal. They were all excellent cooks, and she was pretty sure she had gained ten pounds since coming to the manor. Looking at a cake on the counter, her eyes ate it up. It looked so good, and she couldn't wait till dessert. Cass watched as another house elf pulled a ham out of an oven, and her stomach rumbled. Realizing she couldn't look at food anymore, she left the kitchen. Deciding she needed to relax her nerves, she headed towards the music room. However, the door bell rang, and she was pretty sure that Liam had arrived. Hurrying back to the foyer, she saw a shadow move across the floor. Apparently, someone had gotten there before her to let in their visitor.
