Merry Christmas! (Mikayla)

Danielle yawned as she trudged slowly up the stairs. It was 11:00 p.m. she had been up all day playing outside. It didn't help that she had woken up at 5:30! She had just finished drinking her Hot Coco. Mikayla and Danielle had opened a present earliar. Danielle had gotten a new computer game or something about that. She didn't really remember, but she knew that she was lucky to get up the stairs. She finaly made it to her room. She walked over to her bed and collapsed. "Night." she mumbled to Mikayla. Not bothering to cover up she fell asleep in what seemed like a second. Danielle had a good dream that night. She had dreamt that it was Christmas. Except that she was jumping up and down screaming. "Santa came! Santa came! He came!" But that couldn't be possible she stopped believing in Santa Clause when she was eight. She saw her parents eating the cookies she had left out. But then in the dream Dumbledore walked in and gave her an egg. For some reason she thought it was the greatest thing ever because she ran over and hugged him. Then she woke up.

Danielle blinked and lifted her head to look around. Sitting up she glanced at her clock. 9:18. Man, she thought rubbing her eyes, I must've been completly knocked out! Smiling she got out of bed, shivering as the cold floor touched her feet. Walking over to the bathroom she got a towel. After getting out of a quick shower she changed into a different pair of pajamas. Why bother to dress up, it's not like I'm going anywhere. Going into her room she pulled on a pair of red socks then her piggy slippers. She remembered why she got them. Thease people we're giving them away, Danielle had wanted the bunnies but her friend had gotten there first. Shaking her head she walked slowly down the stairs. No one was up. "Man they are sooo lazy." she whispered to herself. Danielle walked into the kitchen. "I wonder if we have any hot chocolate left." she murmered. Finding it she fixed two cups. One for her the other for Mikayla if she woke up soon.

Drinking the coco she walked into the living room. Switching on the T.V. she changed the channel to Cartoon Network. She sat her drink on the coffe table and glanced at the tree. She considered opening her presents but didn't. Getting bored she turned the stero on. Putting in a CD she started to sing, then dance. Jumping around she didn't notice that someone else was there.

Mikayla woke drearily. Her and Danielle had partied so hard the day before and she was tired. Mikayla walked stumbling a little towards the bathroom. She turned on the faucet and rinsed her face with cold water. She was so tired her eyes were watering. She got a clean hand cloth from under the sink. She dried her face and looked in the mirror she looked horrible. She got her tooth brush and began brushing her teeth carefully to get everything good and clean. She walked back to Danielle's room where her stuff was. She grabbed clean undies and new pajamas. Mikayla hoped that they didn't dress all up for Christmas or anything. She got a bath towel from the hall closet and went back to the bathroom.

She spit into the sink turned the faucet back on, and got one of the little dental cups they had for rinsing out your mouth. When Mikayla was done with that she took her shower dried off and got dressed in her cute pink rock star pj's and her fuzzy pink slippers to match. She cleaned up her mess and put her dirty clothes in the dirty clothes hamper they had set in their bathroom. She Went back into Danielle's room and grabbed her hair brush and a rubber band. Went to the bathroom brushed her hair and put it up into a cute sloppily done bun on the top of her head. She sat her brush down with her stuff and went down stairs. She heard a dog howling or something. She quickened her pace reaching the end of the stairs she peeked around the corner to see what the awful racket was. Low and behold it was Danielle singing and dancing to the radio.

"Wow..." Mikayla said quietly. "I wish I had a picture of this." Mikayla said quietly so that Danielle wouldn't hear her. Mikayla was holding in her laugh. She could feel her face begin to turn colors she was fixing to bust.

After the song was over she looked over toward the stairs. Instantly the smile was wiped off her face. She stared in shock at Mikayla who was turning purple. "I suggest that you never, I repeat never! Tell anyone about what you just heard. And I suggest you try and do something us normall people call 'breathing'. It's really easy." Recovering from her embaresment she looked over at the kitchen. "Oh! I almost forgot." she said walking in and getting her cup. " Do you want some hot chocolate?" Not waiting for an answer she handed it to her anyway. Picking up her glass she sat on the couch. "Come on sit down." she said patting the space next to her. She drank deeply and watched T.V. Something funny happened on the T.V. and Danielle laughed. The only bad thing was that some hot coco came out her nose. She sat there for a moment then burst out laughing. "That- was so fu-funny!!!!" she yelled placing her cup on the table. She began to role around on the carpet gasping for breath.

Mikayla watched still trying not to explode. Then the jig was up. Danielle caught her purple faced. "What a way to wake up she finally managed. Mikayla began laughing hysterically. "I wont, I wont!!" Mikayla said still laughing rather loudly, she was referring to the comment Danielle said about not telling anyone about what she had just seen and heard. Mikayla finally got her laughter under control she was afraid of waking Danielle's mom and dad up. Danielle handed her a cup of hot chocolate. "Oh, thanks." Mikayla said snatching at the cup eager to get a sip of the silky smooth chocolateyness. If that was even a word. Mikayla smiled and continued to take gulps out of her hot coco.

She watched as Danielle went and sat down turning on the tv. Mikayla walked around to see what she was watching. Mikayla wasn't sure what it is but whatever it was must have been funny because out of nowhere Danielle started laughing hysterically and started to roll on the floor. Mikayla also noticed that she had hot coco on her nose. "Umm, are you ok?" Mikayla said trying not to laugh at the sight of Danielle rolling around in the fetal position laughing with hot chocolate on her face.

"I-I'm o.k." Danielle said gasping for breath. She stood up looked around. "That was odd." she commented. Picking up her coco she glanced at the tree again. All of the presents were sitting under it. Only five for Mikayla, James and herself. She knew because she had kept track of them, making sure her parents didn't return any. Without thinking she walked over to it. Sitting down she sat her drink next to her. Picking up one of her presents she shook it. She didn't hear anything. "Nothing, must be clothes." Moving on to the next, it was small. She shook this one too. "That's a hard one. Jewelry? No they no I don't wear it." she mused to herself quietly. The third gift. "Don't know." The fourth one was even harder to guess. "Uh...doll? Don't know why I've got all the good ones. She shook her head slightly. Then she saw the fifth present. Quickly she grabbed it and shook. Nothing. "Clothes again!? Can't they get a decent present just once!?" she cried. Standing up she paced the room. Trying to get back in the Christmas spirit. Giving up she sat down again and picked up a present. It was huge! Ripping off the wrapping paper she opened the box that it had covered. Her eyes grew big and she instantly forgave her parents. "Mikayla come here! Quick!" It was dress. Not a normal plain dress but it was silk!! And it came with shoes! The dress was red and went to her ankles. It fastened around her neck with two strings. She looked at Mikayla excitedly. "Isn't it beautiful?"

Mikayla was still cracking up. She was sure her face was turning purple again. Mikayla took a gulp of air and soon after calmed herself a bit. "That was quite odd wasn't it.." Mikayla commented hoping no one had seen them going nuts. "You don't think we are being to loud?" Mikayla asked looking around afraid she might get in trouble with Danielle's parents if they woke them up. Mikayla watched as Danielle took a seat over by the presents. "You know, your parents didn't have to get me anything right?" Mikayla questioned feeling bad.. And some what pathetic. "I mean.. I would have gotten something mailed to me." "Like money to buy stuff with you know?" Mikayla asked with now a guilty expression on her face. Mikayla picked up her hot chocolate and took a sip. She went and sat on the couch and turned on the t.v lowering the volume. She turned it to her favorite station. She watched contently. Mikayla heard as Danielle was guessing as if she was the queen of guessing presents correctly. "Hahaha." Mikayla laughed. "Don't shake 'em to hard they might break" Mikayla said picturing Danielle picking up a presents shaking then hearing the sound of shattering glass. Mikayla rushed over to Danielle she thought something had happened. She looked down and low and behold it was the... Mikayla couldn't think it was that beautiful. Beautiful wasn't even the right word to describe it. Mikayla was speechless, and for once in her life thoughtless.

Danielle looked from Mikayla to the dress, to Mikayla and back to the dress. "This is awesome! Oh don't worry they're deep, deep, deeeep sleepers." she looked at Mikayla again who hadn't said a thing. Weird, doesn't she want to open her presents? Carefully she put her dress to the side and picked up another present. She opened it carefully. She was right, it was jewelry! A silver necklace with a heart shaped diamond. Also a pair of earrings to match. "Wow they are so nice. Hey don't you want to open your presents?" Danielle asked her. She sat the jewelry aside and reached for her cup. Taking a drink she heard her brother coming down the stairs. "Ugh... not now." she whispered to herself. "Just when everything was going smoothly." Getting ready for a smart comment she placed her cup beside her. Then reached out for another present.

"I didn't know we could yet.." "I thought families usually all wait and take turns opening the presents.." "But I sure will if I can!" Mikayla sat down and opened one of hers. It was a pretty brown sweater and it came with a cute brown mesh brown hat to match. Mikayla new it would look so cute when she wore at Hogwarts on a snowy day. Mikayla sat her wrapping paper aside and began opening the next one it was a shoe box. She opened the box and there was the cutest pair of brown flats she had ever seen. "Man, your parents know what their doing when it comes to Christmas shopping don't they!!" Mikayla said thrilled with her cute little accessories. Mikayla looked at Danielle she flashed her a bright smile. Mikayla was so excited to open the next one she could just scream. She reached for the present then she heard something. She looked up then there was Danielle's brother gazing down at us from the stare. He wasn't being mean though it was a tired type gaze. Mikayla shouted "Hurry, come open you presents." She flashed him a big and bright smile also. Nothing could put her down.

"Ours doesn't." she said. Danielle turned to look at James. "Jeez James jingle bells are jingling. And you haven't even opened one present! Did you like the rhyme? Just made it up a moment ago. Think that you could say it five times fast?" she smiled at him then turned around again looking for another present. Then James was right beside her opening a present too. "Jeez James jingle bells are jingling, jeez James jingle bells are jingling, jeez James jingle bells are jingling, jeez James jingle bells are jingling, jeez James jingle bells are jingling. Ha I said it!" James said as he opened his present. "Cool." he said as he took it out. Danielle glanced over at him. "Wow it's a watch very interesting." she said sarcastically as James glared at her. Grinning she picked up another present and ripped off the wrapping paper. She opened the box and took her present out. "OOh, Mikayla look I got a sweater too! 'Cept the color's different. Plus I don't have a have a hat. But then again I don't really like hats either." The sweaters were exactly the same except in color. Danielle's was red. Danielle put her sweater in the small pile she had been making. She reached out for another one and grabbed it.

"Ha!" Mikayla laughed at Danielle. She just thought it was funny for some reason. Mikayla searched through her presents and found her last two. Mikayla was going to take her time with these. One present was really big the other was really small. "It must jewelry!" Mikayla thought to herself. Mikayla looked over and saw Danielle and her brother tearing and grabbing at their presents like wild creatures. It was quite funny though. Mikayla examined the wrapping paper on the two gifts. The big one had fat Santa's on it, and the little was blue and had fat reindeer.

Mikayla looked at the sticker note on the wrapping of the little box. Mikayla started opening her present. She tore all the wrapping paper off and she saw a box. She opened up the box, and there sat a beautiful little locket. It had a heart that they had in-scripted "Best Friends" on the front. And when you opened it there was a picture of her best friend Danielle, and then a blank place where she was to put her picture. Mikayla was in awe at the beauty of the locket. She looked over at Danielle's gifts and saw that she had a small box also, Mikayla figured she got one to match hers. Mikayla waited for Danielle to get to her last present to open.
