„Where on earth are you taking me?“ Kris asked with a quizzical arch of his eye-brow as he followed the woman to Hogsmeade postal office his cane clicking quietly on the cobblestone street as Kris had to took relatively long strides to keep up with Phaedra. The woman reminded him a lot of Dana. She was related to him almost as distantly but Kris found himself oddly fond of the woman. She was slowly becoming one more sister. She was 5 years older than Kris, yet in some ways she almost seemed to lean on him much the same way Dana did. At least it had taken a bit less time to get through Phaedra’s scull that she wasn’t to blame for Kris getting blinded. Honestly. Kris was going to yell at the next female in his life blaming herself for it. Though Kris couldn’t imagine why Phaedra had chose to become an auror, but that was pretty much her problem. But Phaedra brusting into Hogwarts at classtime – though Kris was skipping class anyway – had still been a bit of a surprise.
A moment later Kris felt a flower sewn out of cloth being pushed into his hand and he simply held on while grimacing slightly at the feel of Morrigan’s claws cutting through his silk-shirt and into his shoulder as the portal-key whisked them away. Kris wavered a litlte upon landing but managed not to fall as gust of wind hit his face rather strongly. „Actually let me rephrase that question. Where on earth did you take me?“ Kris asked laying a hand calmly on Phaedra’s shoulder as the woman pulled him up a slight hill happily. Right now they were most certainly somewhere in open air. Not in some city as there was practically no traffic noise and the air for one was fresh. Kris bit back a sigh, now feeling the sting of his blindness a bit sharper than usual as he had to wait for an explanation until Phaedra finally stopped walking and hearing the woman take a deep breath expected to listen to the reason of all what had happened now.

Phaedra grinned brightly hurrying up the hill to her new home as the wind tugged on her beige cloak and tugged playfully at her blond hair. Grinning at Kris’s question at where they were Phaedra bit her lip, smiling a little at the thought that Kris never knew how much exactly she wanted to tell her of what she done this morning. It was shocking how close he had gotten to Kris during the month they had actualyl talked and socialized. Sure, they were very distant cousins, but Phaedra was the poor branch. One of her distant cousins had been Kris’s mother... she had married to the wealth and influence of the Graas family, yet it hadn’t obviously worked properly. „We are in Anglesey. And I bought myself a little bit of land and a small house here. I just fell in love with this place. The aura here, the wind and nature, the view.. .and the cute little house in the middle of wildly-growing flowers and a few old trees. The old mountain ash in the back-yard is perfect for a swing to be put there. I wanted to show you this place as you are the closest thing to a family I have.“
Phaedra smiled at Kris pulling him along with a bit of sadness touching her heart for a moment. Her mother had died long since but Phaedra still missed his father who had died from a stroke just a year and half ago. Kris had gotten close to her quickly so Phaedra had wanted to share her sweet haven with him first. „Come on, I’ll show you around in it,“ Phaedra said smiling at the rather shabby looking house. Sure, it wasn’t a pretty sight right now. The paint had long since came off and the little that remained was a nasty olive-green colour. The roof leaked and looked ready to collapse, it was hard to see through the windows where the windows weren’t broken yet. Phaedra knew that the sewer had to be replaced and the floorboards were rotting, but she had fallen in love with the house from first glance. She had fallen in love with the overall feeling of the home. It was warm and welcominga nd it had potential. And she had been able to afford it from her small savings.
„It also has a garage on the side of the rode for a muggle car, which I don’t have, but it has 2 bedrooms and one bathroom on the 2nd floor and a kitchen with a dining-room – they are connected, a bathroom and a living room or lounge on the first floor. It’s small and practical, just the perfect house for me. And there’s a nice porch in the back. I already feel at home here,“ Phaedra cooed happily as she found the key for the door as she dragged Kris towards the house and opened the door, coughing for a moment at the dust jumping at her, „It does need some fixing up certainly, but I’ll get to it slowly one thing after an other until I finally manage to fix this place up. What do you think?“

Kris listened wordlessly as Phaedra talked about the house. There was something about her voice that told Kris that Phaedra had found her home. Kris had never hesitated about where his home was. The manor was his home. There was just something about one’s voice when they talked baout home. Kris had it in his when he talked about his manor. Meredith and Julien were at home in Paris. Dana was yet to find her real home, but looked like Phaedra had found hers. „Where’s the catch?“ Kris asked following a bit more slowly as Phaedra tugged his arm towards where the house was, „You make it sound WAY too good for it to actually be true.“
Kris felt his way with the walking cane for a moment before stepping up the one step and into the house. Stepping in Kris wrinkled his nose. The smell of mold and dust were overwhelming not to mention the rather suspicious creek of the floorboards as Kris walked over them. Placing one hand calmly on Phaedra’s shoudler Kris stopped next one and stood calmly for a moment. Just ofr a moment before he threw his leg downwards with a rather big amount of force not displaying any emtion as the floorboard cracked and broke under Kris’s leg. „And you want this house? Are you sure it’s even a normal house?“ Kris asked before having to stumble back and duck as Phaedra screeched out a coupel of curses next to her.
Raising from the crouch he had landed in at the noise displaying pure disgust Kris turned his head towards Phaedra while arching an eye-brow. „Sorry. It was a rat. Rather humoungous rat,“ came the bit sheepish answer that made Kris merely shake his head in amusement. „You really want this house? Well, at that case we better start sending out owls. This is going to require a lot of work before it’s in a good enough shape for you to move in,“ Kris commented turning around and taking Phaedra with her, „And you can pay me back for it when you actually get rich some day.“ Phaedra laughed quietly at the words while throwing her arms around Kris in a tight hug: „How on earth did I manage without you? And without your wallet for that matter? I didn’t bring you here for this purpose actually, but if you could loan me the money to fix this place up, then I would be eternally grateful. I’ll pay you back slowly, but I promise that I will pay back every knut you spend on the house right now. This is home.“

One week later
Dana took hold of the velvety yellow rose-bloom sewn rather accurately out from a piece of cloth and a few moments later felt the familiar tug at her navel. Landing graceful on a hill-side next to a small cottage Dana observed the house calmly. She knew Kris had spent a small fortune here. Getting the workers to cast protection charms, replace all the floor and ceilings, the sewer system and whatever else within a week – and to change out the roof on top of everything else – required a lot of money. Especially if the work was all supposed to get done within a week. At least Kris could easily afford this to himself without creating no big hole in his funds. Phaedra was his cousin and one of the aurors on the Express. Related to Kris by his mother, while not having any more connections to the Graas family otherwise. But both Dana and Kris found her company rather pleasant, even if the girl was an auror. At least she had been a Ravenclaw in Hogwarts. And today Dana had came here, widening her invitation to some of her friends to give the house a touch. The walls and windows had already been painted white and creme as well as the fence surrounding the rather pleasant house, but the rooms inside needed work still. The walls had to be covered with paint or wallpaper, the ceilings painted and the floors washed. Phaedra coudl place the furniture iwhere she wanted it later on with the help of magic.
„The house looks great,“ Dana stated walking down the slight hill and entering the house, shrugging of her jacket as she looked around the bleak room. „What do you say we get started with the wallpaper in the lounge, Cleo? The creme wallpaper with the ornamented porte, right, Phaedra?“ Hearing an affirmative reply Dana nad Cleo turned back their sleeves and started off to measuring out the lenghts of wallpaper needed for the rater spacious room. „Kris, would you sing for us, please?“ Dana asked looking up at her cousin and giving her a sweet smile, even if it dind’t have any effect on Kris, „Please? It would make the work much more pleasant and fun. Just sing anything.“ Taking advantage off years of friendship Dana pushed the correct buttons so Kris finally settled down on a wide window-sill after accepting the guitar and letting his fingers glide over the instrument skillfully as Ryan and Phaedra who were aiting the kitchen ceiling joined in with Dana’s whoop of joy. Cleo was just as happy as the rest, but Dana just smirked as she muffled her own exclamation of happiness. After all, how could she ever show Kris she was happy after all? Dana had to muffle her own snort of amusement at the obvious attachment between Cleo and Kris that both refused to accept. Actually Cleo was even worse about it than Kris was. Kris at least admitted that he was intrigued.
„Wanna be your car, so you’d have to worry if you leave out to the yard unlocked. Wanna be your money so without me You couldn’t handle a day. Wanna be the cigaret smoking in your hand So you’d be addicted to me. Wanna be your diet if you are starving And the calorie-calculations in your fridge.
Don’t throw me away, Still have much to give Don’t throw me away, I still have my uses Don’t throw me away, I’m still almost new, Don’t throw, please don’t throw
Wanna be your news and be your sport Wanna be your fish and cranberry-juice Wanna be your sweetcake and be your wine So you’d be crazy about me only. Wanna be a fly on your bedroom wall So I’d know your deepest dream Wanna be who no one else is for you Wanna be your own Superhero.
Don’t throw me away, Still have much to give Don’t throw me away, I still have my uses Don’t throw me away, I’m still almost new, Don’t throw, please don’t throw, Don’t throw me away.” Kris’s voice rang calmly through the small house as Dana felt herself moving in rhythm to the rather catchy tune that Kris’s fingers sounded on the guitar with more ease than you could guess from a blind person. But Kris had always practiced with closed eyes, saying that music just like love did not have any face or expression. Cleo and Ryan sung along at the chorus and for back up while Dana just smiled happily while stepping on the stool to put the upper part of the wallpaper into it’s place while Cleo stepped closer to smooth it straight over the wall.
