Kadan loved staying at his grandma's house. She always had something cooking in the oven. Today, she was making his favorite- orange juice cookies. He loved all of her cookies, but these were the best. A soft sugar cookie with a layer of sweet icing that was flavored with orange juice.
Walking into the kitchen, he noticed she had a plate of the cookies already cooling. Impatient as usual, Kadan grabbed one from the plate and took a large bite. Delicious, he thought to himself. Just then, his grandmother walked into the kitchen. "You caught me," he said with a grin. "But I must add, they are the best you've ever made. His grandma let out a small chuckle and continued with another batch.
"I've already prepared a sack of them for you to go," she said warmly. "They are in the refrigerator."
"You're the best Gran," Kadan said cheerfully. He grabbed the bag of cookies from the fridge and kissed his grandma on the cheek. "See you later!" he hollered as he bolted out the door.
Today, Kadan didn't really have any plans. He was simply going to go to the small pond he knew of that was in the woods behind his grandparents house. It was a peaceful place where he loved to just relax.
He walked down the winding trail that led through the think foliage until the pond was in sight just ahead in a small clearing. Once at the pond, he picked a shady place to lay his blanket that he had packed in his backpack. He situated himself, and sat down.
Grabbing another cookie from the bag, Kadan downed it instantly. Lying back on the blanket, he put his hands behind his head and closed his eyes. A breeze blew across his face, and it almost put him to sleep. This is the life, he thought to himself. No people, no worries, and no commotion... just the wind.

Rosaliz hit the bugs that wre flying around her head. 'how I hate the woods' she thought. The only reason why she went there was to go to her favorite spot that she found about two years ago. She was doing the muggle thing that they called hiking in the woods. She remembered the pond clearly in her mind. How the water glimmered and shined by the suns rays that were able to get through the tree leaves. And how the place was always quit and peacefull. She loved the spot mostly at night, when the fireflies gave a wonderfull touch. Rosaliz finished her thoughts when she saw the pond straight ahead. She then saw something on the ground which made her heart sink. She didn't move another step and thought 'what if that's a bear or something.'. She started walk slowly to the pond making sure in every pace none of the tree leaves on the ground would crunch.
By the time she got there she noticed it was a boy sleeping on a blanket. She then remebered that he went to Hogwarts too. She gave a relief sigh and sat right next to him. She started to tap him until he opened his eyes. She then said "Hi, my name is Rosaliz. I expect you go to Hogwarts to? Isn't kind of weird how we can meet eachother in starnge spots?" she finished off with a big smile on her face waiting for the boy to reply.

Shortly after Kadan closed his eyes, he was asleep. His mind drifted for a few minutes. He dreamed that a girl came up to him. He knew she was from Hogwarts, but didn't know her personally. She introduced herself as Rosaliz. Another gust of wind blew and Kadan felt a chill. Suddenly he realized he wasn't sleeping anymore, and that he wasn't dreaming either. The girl, who he now knew as Rosaliz, was sitting right beside him talking to him. "Oh... hi," he said a bit groggily. "I'm sorry- for a second I thought I was still sleeping." He pushed himself up so that he was sitting too. Offering his hand, he introduced himself, "Kadan."
Although he was expecting a peaceful, lonely visit to the lake, he wasn't too upset at Rosaliz's presence. "Great place, isn't it," he asked. He didn't mind sharing the pond, at least not for the moment. After all, it wasn't like he owned it or anything.
Picking up a small rock, Kadan stood and walked to the edge of the water. He threw it sideways and watched as it skipped a few times over the still surface and then sank. Turning to look at Rosaliz, Kadan had a sudden burst of spontaneity.
Without thinking twice, Kadan kicked off his leather flip flops, and pulled his t-shirt over his head. Wearing only his khaki shorts and boxers, he smiled at Rosaliz. "Care for a swim?" he questioned. Not even waiting for a response, he turned and jumped in the pond. The water was cool, but not too cold. Watching Rosaliz, he waited to see if she would join him.

Rosaliz watched Kadan sit up, making the leaves rustle on the ground. She watched him hold his hand out, so she took out hers and shocked his hand quickly. The next thing Rosaliz knew she was watching Kadan take off his shoes and shirt, leaving his shorts on. He then jumped in the pond making a big splash. It soaked Rosaliz from head to toe. She shivered from the cold water. He then asked if she’d join. “I guess I’m going to since I’m already soaked from head to toe,” she said giggling. She stood up, running to the pond making a big splash. She shivered and then asked Kadan “How did you find this pond?” looking interested in the subject.
((short couldn't think of what else to write.))

Kadan was glad that Rosaliz decided to join him. He figured it wouldn't be too fun if she just sat and watched. He waded out a little deeper until the murky water was almost to his neck. "I've explored these woods many times," he said in regard to Rosaliz's question. "My grandparents live nearby, and I try to visit them as often as I can. I've always been alone though," he added. "I didn't think anybody else came back here that often."
Kadan dove under water and opened his eyes. All he could see was a cloudy blur from the dirt that he and Rosaliz had stirred up. Coming back to shore, Kadan wiped the water from his eyes and looked back to Rosaliz. "What about you," he replied. "What brings you to the pond?"
Kadan felt something brush by his foot. He thought it may have been a fish, but doubted it. Many times he had brought a pole and tried catching something, yet each time he left empty handed. Probably just some pond weed, he assumed. He swam back toward the shore, a little closer to Rosaliz so they didn't have to shout over the wind. The sun slid behind a cloud and its warmth faded quickly.

Rosaliz listened to Kadan, explain about how he found he pond and he asked her how she found it. She then saw him swim under water, coming back to the surface closer to her. She then began to answer his question, to how she found this spot. “It was about two years ago when I found this spot. I was doing the muggle thing that they call ‘hiking in the woods’. Ever since then I’ve been coming here for some peace and to get away from muggles.” She finished and then swam under water the water was quite mucky, filled with dirt but she didn’t mind. She stayed under the water for about seven minutes and then going back to the surface for some air. She looked back at Kadan suddenly founding interest in him even more.
((sorry it took so long to answer))

Monica was fuming to the last point. She couldn’t take the pain anymore and if she had another disturbance she was sure that she was going to scream. That’s why she was going to her favorite spot in the woods. She was tired from walking all day in the hot sun. She looked up and saw the pond not to far to where she was standing. She walked closer and noticed two people in the pond. She didn’t mind the people as long as they didn’t bother her, but when she saw the girl in the pond she was starting to get mad.
‘What is this stupid Gryffindor doing here?’ she asked herself. ‘I thought she was long gone but I guess she didn’t but no worry I can fix that.’ Monica looked at Kadan she recognized him from Hogwarts but he didn’t bother her and she wanted it that way. Monica then said, “What the hell are you doing here little girl?” with a smirk on her face….."don’t worry I can fix that I promise you..... it would only hurt for a second and no more.” Monica grabbed her wand from her back pocket. She knew the perfect spell to aim. She pointed her wand towards Rosaliz and….

Kadan listened as Rosaliz described how she had found the pond. He watched as she swam under water and came up after a few minutes.
Just then, he noticed another girl approaching. She didn't look to happy, and it was obvious that she wasn't as she started screaming at Rosaliz. Kadan just watched at first, but then it appeared that the girl had a wand and was going to curse Rosaliz. He didn't have his wand nearby, and he knew even if he did, he wasn't allowed to do magic outside of Hogwarts, so he did the first thing that came to his mind. After almost pushing Rosaliz under the water, he moved in front of her and separated her from the other girl. "You think you are going to curse her or something?" he asked. "Well if so, then you will have to go through me first," he said boldly. "And you know that as soon as you cast any spell that the Ministry of Magic will be notified this instant, and you won't get away with it," he growled.
Still shielding Rosaliz, Kadan stood firm and watched to see what the girl would do.

Rosaliz listened to Monica’s words, with out losing eye contact towards her. Her heart started to beat faster when she said that she was going to kill. She didn’t know what to do. She started to shiver in fear and thought she was going to be sick. Then the next thing she knew…Monica was pointing her wand at her. This time Rosaliz actually thought she was going to be sick. She then noticed Kadan started to come towards her then the next thing she knew she was pushed under water accidentally Rosaliz started to choke on the water, not being able to see anything threw her muddy surroundings but she was cunning enough to find her surface. She stood behind Kadan and listened to the words of bravery he took. ‘He should have been in Gryffindor, really brave’. She thought standing behind him hoping that Monica would just leave her alone.

Monica snarled at him. Now he had got to her nerves but she decided she didn’t want to fight the lame kid. She then put her wand down and back into her pocket. She came here for quite but already made trouble. She then turned around walking into the dark woods not looking back to the filthy little Gryffindor and her friend. She was going to turn around to go attack them suddenly but just decided to walk back home. 'By the way that new boy seems to protect her he’s in my way. The next time I see him I’ll attack him too.' she thought. She snarled laughing all the way home.

Kadan watched happily as Monica walked away and left he and Rosaliz alone. Turning to Rosaliz, he asked, "You okay?" He put his hands on her shoulders and looked her in the eyes. "Don't worry about her. She just has no life, and that's why she is trying to make yours miserable. She's just full of empty threats," he explained.
He felt bad for Rosaliz. Even though it may have been an empty threat, it still must have scared Rosaliz to have her life threatened. After making sure she was okay, he started to swim back to shore. He grabbed a his shirt and took it to Rosaliz. "Here, put this on," he said. "This will keep you warm. Let's get out of here before she has the chance to come back."

Rosaliz watched Monica walk away. She got out of the water and then saw Kadan return back to her with shirt. She was glad he handed it to her since she was shivering in coldness but yet in fright to. She agreed with Kadan that they should leave. She looked at him with worry since she had no place to go right now. She then remembered to what he said about his grandparents living nearby, and then she asked him “can we go to your grandparents houses since it’s not far, but we’ll be safe in there?” She hoped he would say yes but just couldn’t get out of her mind of the threat Monica told her. She couldn’t take it anymore. The girl always bothered her for no reason at all. She just put in conclusion since she was a slytherin she’d have that type of personality. Rosaliz just stood there waiting for a reply.
