Karlie sat in the quiet pub in Dublin, Ireland sipping her mocha cappuccino lightly and reading a gossip magazine. Her day had been slow and simple, the most exciting part so far had been her cappuccino, however Karlie liked it that way. She was in Ireland for an annual family reunion that she was none to interested in. It was her mothers job to organize the family reunion and often times Karlie found herself parading across Dublin with much too much time on her hands. However, this did not bother her, it was the constant ranting about Karlie's success in school that she despised. Her mother was much too proud of Karlie and all too often she decided to share that with others- more specifically her family, which typically made Karlie nauseous.
However, the reunion wasn't for another week so Karlie was simply enjoying her favorites parts of Dublin. This cafe had been here since Karlie could remember, she had been visiting it since she was 8 years old, it was one of her favorites. As she sat reading the latest gossip on the weird sisters a shadow fell across her eyes. She looked up to see a handsome older boy looking down at her, "May I help you?" she inquired quietly.

Kris looked at the sky calmly as Devil and Shadow – his two dogs. A Siberian huskie and an Alaskan malamute – ran over an empty field. It wasn’t that empty actually, as some muggle farmer was raising his crops here. Didn’t matter to Kris however who let the two dogs run around as freely as they wanted. Idiotic muggles would have to adjust to his wishes. Glancing at the time Kris whistled sharply before turning and starting to walk away. In mere moment the dogs were both walking on either side of him. Shadow, who was older, on his left, Devil on his right. He would fancy a nice cup of coffee now. Not that one could easily get a good cup of coffee around here, but at least it would be better than nothing.
Walking to the car parked rather close Kris entered it with the dogs jumping and curling up on one of the seats as the car stared leaving with a quiet purr. In a matter of moments the car turned into Dublin streets with about a hundred of miles covered in a few moments. Magic really was useful if you knew how to make it work for you. The driver moved to a small café and stopped. Kris exited the car calmly after giving it a quick once-over. The dogs following him, Kris entered the pub and ordered himself a piece of chocolate cake and a double-espresso. Sitting down at a private cubicle Kris received his order a mere moments later.
Not really liking the pub too much, Kris tasted the cake and the drink. They weren’t really up to his regular standards, but they were tolerable. Looking up Kris frowned at one of the windows. He wanted some more fresh air. Standing Kris raised a finger towards the dogs signalizing for them to stay put, Kris walked over tot e window glancing down at the girl sitting there. She looked faintly familiar. Perhaps a Slytherin as Kris recalled from somewhere. She asked if Kris needed something and Kris just replied with a smirk: “Just a little fresh air.” Reaching over Kris turned the windows handle and pulled frowning slightly as the window didn’t move. Obviously it wasn’t meant to be open. Smirking at the window Kris pushed at the window suddenly breaking one of the corners of the window-frame. It would open now. Leaving the window open Kris returned to his seat calmly and picking up his fork took a bite out of his chocolate cake.

Karlie glared at the boy, irritated with his cocky remark, but not saying anything as he was older than her, most likely a 6th or 7th year… if he was a wizard at all. She watched him struggle with and then break the window before returning to his table. She smiled as she saw his dogs; while she owned a cat herself, she much preferred dogs. She continued to sip her mocha cappuccino while watching the boy. She didn’t know why, but this boy interested her; most likely because she had nothing else to look at in the pub. Taking the last swig of her coffee took out her wand and performed a simple refilling spell continued to enjoy her drink.
Sighing she turned her attention away from the boy and reached down for her black book bag sporting the Hogwarts crest. Out of it she grabbed a muggle CD player with rather bulky headphones and bulging CD case. She then flipped though her diverse mixture of CD’s trying to decide what to listen to. Finally deciding, she pulled out a Lindsay Loghan CD and placed it carefully in the player before snapping the lid closed. She pressed play and placed the player gently on the table before picking her drink back up and continuing to watch the boy.

The dogs growled quietly at a few passer-bys as Kris returned to his seat. Shadow and Devil looked good – thick fur that was groomed daily, a lot of moving so the were in top shape and the best foods. But they most certainly were not friendly dog. Kris could do whatever he wanted with them. But not even Dana who Kris loved with all his heart as a sister didn’t dare to be too close to the dogs without Kris being next to her. Dana would never dream of petting the dogs.
Devil jumped onto the seat and laid down there as Kris just glanced at him calmly. The pub wasn’t very happy about letting dogs in and they most certainly wouldn’t like the fact that Devil was on the seat. But Kris paid good enough money so they wouldn’t dare to come and tell him something about it either. Not that Kris would care. Stroking Devil’s head absent-mindedly Kris started eating his chocolate cake calmly. Kris had tasted better ones, but it wasn’t exactly bad either. His drink was tolerable at least as well.
Feeling eyes on him, Kris turned his head looking calmly back at the girl who had talked to her earlier when he was opening the window. She was listening to a muggle CD-player – why, Kris didn’t have a clue because even the players they sold at Catalina’s Cubby were better than muggle ones – and was staring at him. A slow arch of his eye-brow and Kris raised his cup of coffee towards the girl with a sarcastic smirk before taking a sip and drawling out loudly enough for his words to reach the girl in the almost empty pub-room: “I know I’m gorgeous, but could you at least stare at me with more discretion?”
((You're underage, Karilie, you can't use magic outside Hogwarts and your home. So you can't refill your cup in a pub with your wand.))

Karlie was still watching the interesting boy when she noticed him turn to look at her, lifting his cup of coffee at her and saying something with a cocky expression upon his face. She didn't hear what it was, however, as she had had her music on rather loudly. She pressed the pause button on her CD player and took off her headphones, setting them down beside the player and fixing the bumps they made in her caramel brown hair. "Excuse me?" she said from across the room. "What did you say," she asked, sure it had been something rude and sarcastic, but curious anyway, "I had my music up and I did not hear you?" She took another drink of her mocha cappuccino and awaited his reply.
((Sorry, I forgot about that.))

Kris had already returned to his coffee and cake, being sure that the girl would stop her staring. Scratching Devil’s head with one hand Kris made himself comfortable. Devil shifted himself a bit so Kris had a better angle while he betted him as he let his mind drift. He didn’t have to rush anywhere today, except to a theater performance with Dana and his legal guardians, but there was still a good 7 hours until that. Besides his portal key left after 5 hours. Plenty of time for him to get ready by the time they needed to get moving.
The girl however didn’t think they’re conversation was over as she made up the excuse that she hadn’t heard him due to listening music. Taking very calmly and deliberately slowly a bite of his chocolate cake Kris swallowed and took a sip of his coffee before finally turning his head and giving the girl a cold look. “How ever beautiful I might be, do try to stare at me with a bit more discreetly.” An arched eye-brow as well as a smirk was sent at the girls direction, “And I most certainly won’t bother to engage in a shouting conversation over the entire pub.”
Turning his head back Kris clicked hi tongue as Shadow jumped onto the seat on his left while Devil was already lazing on his right. Pulling out two dog-treats from his pocket Kris fed both dogs one.

Karlie narrowed her eyes into a glare as she turned her eyes from the arrogant boy. With her cappucino drained, she motioned to the nearest waitress and demanded another. Minutes later the waitress returned, looking a little frustrated and apologizing for the time that had elapsed while she got the coffee. Karlie waved her away and sipped the cappucino. She immediatly spit the disgusting liquid back into the cup and called for the waitress. The small framed girl returned, a worried expression on her plain face. "What the hell is this!" Karlie began, "You call this a cappucino! This tastes more like drag..."Karlie stopped herself before letting a small piece of the magical world slip from her mouth, "like, uh, water from the river Thames! Absolutely disgusting!" With that she thrust the cup at the tiny girl, spilling the now cold coffee all over her. The small waitress' lip quivered as she apologized and cleaned up the now shattered cup.
"Worthless muggles..." Karlie muttered under her breath as the mousy girl walked away, tears pouring from her eyes. She crossed her arms and leaned back, waiting for another, and hopefully much better, cappucino.
