Maryn looked at her watch. "I have to be their in thirty minutes." She thought. She then got dressed in her cutest baby blue cotton skirt, white tank top, and her signature flip flops. After clearing her outing with her parents she started walking to the mall.
She looked in the store windows as she headed to the food court. When she got there, she looked around. "Piper isn't here yet." She thought. She then sat down at the nearest table and tapped her fingers as she waited.

"Oh no!" Piper said aloud. She was late to meet one of her dear friends Maryn at the mall. She ran to her room to get dressed. She changed into her cutest blouse and capris she slipped on her tennis shoes and she was off.
When she arrived at the food court she saw Maryn sitting at a table tapping her fingers like she always does when she is trying to be patient. Piper then ran up behind her "Gotcha!" she yelled.

"AHH!" Maryn cried as someone yelled behind her. She turned around to see it was her best friend Piper. "Geeze Pipe!" Maryn yelled. She gave out a little laugh. "Why do you always have to do that to me?" Maryn asked with a smile on her face. "Crazy girl." Maryn let out a fake frown. "So do you want to go shop?" Maryn asked already knowing Piper's answer.
Maryn and Piper did things together alot. They had been friends since Maryn could remeber. Piper was Maryn's first witch friend. They both grew up with muggles friends. Piper was Maryn's partner in crime. They did the funniest and stupidest things together.
Both the girls couldn't believe it when they were placed in seperate houses. They knew about the sorting hat and were sure it would place them together. But, they still spent alot of time together. Many people thought they were twins becuase they acted so alike.

"Well what do you think Mary?" Piper replied sarcasticly. "Do you think I told you to meet me at the mall for the heck of it ?" Piper asked giggling. Piper thought to herself "Man she asks the most obvious questions."
"Are you excited about going back to Hogwarts?" Piper asked Maryn. She walked around to the other end of the table and sat down. " I'm kind of disappointed we aren't in the same house but I know we will still hangout and stuff. Just like last year." Piper looked over at Maryn with a kind of questioning gaze. "Let's go we got alot of spending to do!" Piper said excitedly.

"Well, you are Piper. So, you could be here to dig coins out of the fountain. Like LAST TIME." Maryn said giggling. A few months ago Maryn and Piper were playing truth and dare with their muggle friends and a boy dared Piper to dig coins out of the fountain. Which of course she did.
"No, Pipe. I hate Hogwarts." Maryn replied with her sarcastic tone while she threw a napkin a Piper. "Of course I'm excited. Hogwarts practically is my home." Maryn always thought of Hogwarts that way. She didn't like living in London.
"Yes, lets." Maryn replied to Piper's shopping suggestion. Maryn got up and started walking towards some stores as Piper followed. "So, is your mother less woried now?I mean she was just like my parents after the attacks." Maryn said. Pipers parents were not as protective as Maryns but they were rather extream.
"Oh, thats cute." Maryn pointed at a display in a store window. "Lets check it out Pipe." Maryn said turning into a store.

"Haha very funny!" Piper replied. "At least I didn't have to walk up to a little old lady and sing I've Got the Power!" Piper said laughing rather hysterically. "Poor lady she didn't even get a good head start!" Piper was now laughing even harder!
"Ok lets just chage the subject, before they call security!" Piper was now calming herself by taking deep breathes in and out. Piper walked toward a discount rack. She started browsing through some tank tops. "Yeah, but my mom is kinda limiting where I go because of all the attacks." "But she has the right to be worried I mean people died."
Piper found a cute tank top and started heading towards a dressing room. "Hey, I'm gonna go try this shirt on real quick."

"Oh, come on I wasn't that bad." Maryn said giggling as she remebered the little old lady incident. Maryn and Piper acted like muggles. Maryn was raised not knowing about witches and wizards even though her parents were them. Piper lived near by knowing the truth, but keeping it a secret. They were both shocked when they found each other at Hogwarts a few years ago. Thinking back on that day Maryn realized they were practically muggles all those years. Which didn't bother her one bit.
"Hey security thought is was funny!" Maryn said looking through the rack next to Piper. "Yea, I wish I could help the families." Maryn said following Piper to the dressing room. She continued to talk to her through the wall. "I mean why would Death Eaters want to attack innocent people? They didn't hurt anyone." Maryn continued. Her brain hurt just thinking about it. She hated the idea of people getting killed for no reason.

Piper rustled on the tank top walked out to show Maryn.
"How do I look?" "I think the color blue was made for me." Piper said laughing. Then she got quiet."Can we stop talking about the Death Eaters, please I don't like to talk about things with death as the subject you know." "Call me Hufflepuff but I just hate the word death."
Piper had never like the word death. It was just one of those things you never like. Everytime she hears the word she gets shiver straight down her spine!
"Do you think I should buy this shirt?" "I have some realy cute jean shorts that will look good with it."

"Cute." Maryn said admiring Piper's shirt. "I think blue was mad for us!" Maryn said as she pointed to her blue skirt. Maryn listened to Piper's comment and gave a little smile. "Hufflepuff." Maryn laughed. "Sure new subject. How about...Oh you ready to go back to the cute Hogwarts guys?" Maryn said giggling. Maryn was usually a smiling person. Maryn liked the Hogwarts boys better than muggles becuase they were more serious.
Maryn was unlike Piper in the way that she didn't mind to talk about death or anything dark. Maryn was a brave girl and could handle anything that was thrown in her way, but she knew Piper wasn't. It was funny, Piper knew she was a witch all along and she hated anything dark. Maryn grew up without Piper's knowledge and she was a fighter.
"Yea, buy it." Maryn replied. "Come on buy it and lets hit the next store. " Maryn said.
