Ariane smiled at her mirror reflection on one of the windows. She looked like an angel, and luckily every colour looked good on her. Today she had chosen casual clothes – a pair of black silk pants with dark-purple threads forming a small pattern around the waist and at the end of the trouser legs. And a nice shade of purple that matched her pants. It gave her somewhat of a mysterious aura and brought out her big green eyes and blonde hair. Fixing her hair while standing in front of the big window Ariane gave her reflection one more pleasant smile.
Father was supposed to take her shopping today, but the he had received a summoning from work. Being the Head of the Department of Mysteries father was useful for the Dark Lord. However it meant that he sometimes had hectic time graphics. Ariane didn’t mind today however. Some kind of a dark artifact had been discovered that father had to overview with his workers. Smiling pleasantly at a few people she knew in the Ministry as they passed. Stepping closer to the window Ariane looked out. Why did they have the entrance to the Ministry here? And there were so many worthless workers here too.
Stretching lazily Ariane looked up as someone approached her. A guy was staring at her with hesitantly with a goblet of what seemed like butterbeer in his hand. “Yes, get out with it?” Ariane snapped at the guy recognizing him as one of the newer workers in the Department of Mysteries. “UM, my boss, er.., he kind of sent it to you so you wouldn’t get thirty… the guy fell silent as Ariane arched an eye-brow towards him and took the goblet. “Tell father thank you for me. Now get out of my sight,” Ariane said taking the goblet and watching as the guy walked away. It was considerate of father to send her a drink. Even when he could have chosen someone more competent to deliver the drink. Taking a sip of the goblet Ariane discovered that it really was in fact butterbeer. Turning back towards the window Ariane slowly twirled the goblet between her hands.

"I have already told you everything I know about the attack in Diagon Alley, and the attack at Hogwarts." Said Pyro in a annoyed tone to the fat man sitting behind the table across from Pyro. The man tapped a long finger against his chin, looking down at a sheet of paper. "Yes, we understand that Mr. Blackfire, but looking at your injuries I find it hard to believe that you escaped with so little, especially if the attack was such a surprise. Are you sure you didn't hear anything about the attack?" Pyro's eyes narrowed dangerously. "No, I didn't hear anything about the attacks. Where would I get my information, and if you looked you'd notice that i came off as one of the worse ones in the Hogwarts attack." The fat man put on a sly smile "Well, your family was charged with being Death Eaters. Although they were proven innocent I'm not convinced." Pyro slammed his hands down in anger. "Are you accusing us of being Death Eaters!? My family has never had any dealings with the dark lord and never will. You remember that. Now, I am only 15 years old, Death Eaters wouldn't gun for me in a crowd of adult wizards. Thats how I managed to get away with minimal injuries. I have told you all I know and I will not speak further!" With that Pyro stood and stormed out of the room.
Pyro left the room, a house elf stood by the door and jumped when Pyro stepped out. "Go inform father that my meeting is done." The elf bowed and disappeared. Pyro walked down the hall. Pyro had had the meeting with one of the officials, his dad had to rush to work and work in the department of mystery's. Something about a new artifact. Pyro's dad worked in a lot of branches of the ministry. He was a drifter who worked for all the branches every now and than. Pyro grinned. His dad actually was a death eater. Although he was now retired from the dirty work. He worked at the ministry and got info for the dark lord.
Pyro walked a short way and saw a small alcove by a window with a few chairs on it. Pyro sat down wearily on one. His elf than suddenly came back holding a can of soda in his hand. "Sir, I have informed Master Blackfire of your meetings end." Pyro nodded, snatching the can from the elf. "Good, now get out of my sight until I call you." With that the elf left. It was at this point that Pyro noticed someone sitting nearby. Pyro smirked at the little girl. "Can you believe this place? The ministry is filled with such imbeciles its amazing that the dark Lord hasn't won this war yet."

Ariane took one sip of her butterbeer. She had never really liked the drink. Father could have sent her a glass of water instead. Most probably he had given an order for something to be prepared for her and the workers here had brought her butterbeer. Idiots as they were. A boy stepped into the alcove and after snatching a can of soda from an house-elf before he smirked at her. Ariane arched an eye-brow at his words while taking the boy in calmly. Blackfire. Good family, old too. Father worked with them. Most likely this was Charles Blackfires son. Ariane had heard that there had been some problems with this guy. Piro or Pira or whatever his name was.
“They will learn their place still. Dark Lords triumph hasn’t just arrived yet perhaps. Everything might happen still,” Ariane answered calmly raising her goblet a bit towards the boy in greeting, but being sure to pick her words very carefully. It would do no good if some carelessly dropped words would reach wrong ears. But Ariane couldn’t wait for the Dark Lord to triumph and give out suitable punishments for all of those who had dared to stand against him. In Ariane’s mind there was never a doubt who would win the war. It was just a matter of when.

Pyro popped the top of the can and took a drink. He raised his can in kind to her raised goblet and listened to her words. He could see that she was probably picking her words carefully. Just like he had been. Which meant her family either was or had been accused of dealing with the dark lord. Pyro raised his can again at her words. "Couldn't agree with you more." He said.
Pyro watched the girl for a moment. "By the way. My name is Pyro." He took another drink. "It is rare to find one such as yourself lounging about the ministry. What brings you here?" It also occurred to Pyro that it was rare for someone like him to be lounging about the ministry also, but that didn't matter at the moment.

Smiling calmly at the boy Ariane didn’t display any sign of emotion at his name. She had most certainly guessed wrong. Pyro was the name. Ariane had a fleeting idea if the guy was as maniacal as his name sounded in some context, but brushed the thought away. At least he seemed to support the Lord as well. Which was good. Dana’s family had never been under suspicion – her father wouldn’t be in the position he was in now, if they were – but the Blackfires had been. Still, Ariane knew better than to trust someone only because he said a few words he couldn’t back up in any way.
“Someone as myself? And who exactly is ‘someone like myself’ then?” Ariane snapped back at his question, “I could ask the same from you as well. What’s your business in the ministry?” Ariane gave a small scowl. But she did know the boys father. He had treated her with Honeydukes best from time to time. Hopefully the boys allegiances would lay the same way his fathers did so Ariane answered his question none the less: “Ariane Phyllis Dianne. My father is the head of the Department of Mysteries. He got and unexpected call to work and asked me to wait here.”

Pyro saw no sign that she seemed to recognize him. Which was good. He was getting tired of watching the familiarity in the peoples eyes. Than again, this girl looked to young to be in Hogwarts last year. By the looks of it she was a incoming first year. She did seem to take slight offense to Pyro's question as she snapped back at him. Pyro held up his hand to try and calm her before it went a little to far. "I meant no offense when I referred to 'a person like you.' I just meant that it is a rare event to see someone as young as you, and as young as me, to be within the ministry walls."
Pyro took a drink and swirled the drink within the can. She did seem to calm down though and she answered his question. "Department of Mysteries, eh? What a coincidence, my father was called in to assist in whatever it was they found. As for why I am here. Well, I'm sure you have heard of the Death Eater attack at Hogwarts? Well, I was caught and injured in the attack. Than I also was caught in the Diagon Alley attack. The ministry asked for an audience with me so I could tell them what I saw at Diagon, but with my family under suspicion they also thought they could pry some more information out of me. As if I knew anything." He said with a small glint in his eyes.

Pyro held out his hand making Araine scowl at him. Whod id he think she was? Some animal he could calm with raising her hand? Wasn’t he good enough with words to be able to apologize without loosing his dignity? However his words were apologizing, so Ariane nodded regally as a sign that she wasn’t mad. The guys father was called in for the artefact? Ariane was mildly curiously, but not overly so. Father had been exited enough about this find. Perhaps this could be used for the benefit of the Dark Lord some day? Perhaps mr. Blackfire would carry information to the Dark Lord as Ariane’s father would have to deal with the idiots in Ministry for a while.
Listening to Pyro’s words Ariane once more arched an eye-brow. Father had told her and mother to avoid the Diagon Alley for a few days before the attack. „Well, if you don’t know anything, then you can’t tell them anything valueable,“ Ariane answered calmly shifting the weight of her body before holding out her hand towards he boy, „Come, there are a few couches in the next hallway settled around a relatively nice fountain. I do not wish to stand here to be bothered with the idiots milling around for the whole time,“ Ariane stated calmly. Placing her hand in the nook of Pyro’s elbow Ariane led the way to the sitting area that was reserved for workers. The guard of this place took one look at Ariane however and let them pass. Ariane was pleased to note that the sitting area was empty as she sauntered forward and stopped at the fountain looking at the fish swimming in there for a moment. „Some of the employees around here are painflly idiotic. Since light travels faster than sound, they sometimes appear bright until you hear them speak,” Ariane commented calmly.
