Pyro's footsteps echoed along the walls as he made his way down the corridor. His right arm still in the bandage due to his backfire off one of his spells. Pyro stepped into one of the rooms that contained a fireplace and next to it sat the jar of Floo powder. He was just about to grab some and disappear when a house elf popped out of nowhere. "Where are you going sir?" Asked the elf. Pyro glared down at it. "Thats none of your business. If Mary asks tell her I've gone out and will be back in a few hours." Without another look at the elf he grabbed a hand full of Floo powder and tossed it into the low burner embers. "Logton Residence!" He said aloud and the flames kicked up and Pyro stepped into them.
Pyro stepped out and brushed some ash off himself and than looked up at his surroundings. He arched an eyebrow in surprise. This house actually looked like it would belong to a pureblood family, if only it was a bit bigger. For a family that had just recently found out it was pureblood, there was surprisingly a great shortage of muggle appliances. Pyro moved around the room slowly. He heard someone enter behind him, no doubt attracted by the sound of the flames. Pyro turned to face them and see who it was.

Cass carefully placed the black frame back on the cherry nightstand that was beside her bed. Wiping back a tear, she remember the moment when her father had taken that photo with her. Rubbing the stuffed dragon that lay nearby, she focused on a past she would never know. Hobnobbing with exceptional families, fine dinners, and all the clothes she could ever want. However, because of her father's choices, she was now doomed to be an outcast in pureblood society. " Oh, why dad?"
Cass heard the whooshing of flames come from the fireplace below. Not sure if they were expecting company, Cass called out, "Jonas!" Less than a moment later, a flash of light appeared in her bedroom and a young house elf in a black tea cozy appeared before her. The elf looked surprised to see Cass in a pair of jeans and an ACDC t-shirt, but bowed anyway. Cass smiled at the house elf lovingly. Even though she knew they were supposed to servants, she couldn't help but respect the little guys. So much magic packed into a little shell. " Mi'lady?" inquired Jonas.
Cass' grin grew even bigger. "I really wish you wouldn't bow like that, but I know my mother makes you. Anyways, could you go and check what that noise was downstairs? I know those St. Mungo's doctor's have been in and out these last few days. I'm glad mother gave them that donation, but do they really have to keep coming over and thanking her?"
"Yes, Mi'lady. They do." Jonas stared disapprovingly at her, and cracked out of existence.
Cassandra sighed, knowing that even the house elves disapproved of her. " Why can't I be the damn pureblood my mother wants me to be?" She turned to the picture once more. "Dad, is this really how pictured things for me?" She frowned. After a few moments, she became a little worried. It had become rather quiet downstairs. She popped her head out her door, and called down. " Jonas, who is it?"

Jonas appeared in the young girl's room, and sneered as she ordered him to see who had just appeared downstairs. Unlike the rest of her family, she was a poor excuse of a pureblood. Just like her disgrace of a father, she was going to bring nothing but shame to the Blackfire family. Wanting to leave as quickly as possible, he apparated to the main foyer. No good house elf actually apparated into the room where the guests were arriving. That was considered rude to just appear out of nowhere. Jonas padded silently into the receiving room and found a young man, about Cassandra's age, coming out of the fire.
Recognizing him at once from some photos, he walked forward immediately and gathered his things. " Young Master Blackfire, it is very good to finally meet you. I will take your things to your room. " The house elf disappeard and then quickly rematerialized. "I have informed Miss Blackfire of your arrival. She will meet you in the lounge." The house elf bowed low. " Please follow me." The house elf turned around, and began to lead the way toward the large billiards room that was beyond the kitchen.

No sooner had Pyro begun his walk around the room than a house elf made his appearance. Pyro couldn't help but be surprised to see a house elf here, not to mention have the house elf know who he was. Before Pyro could ask though how the elf knew who he was the elf disappeared.
Pyro looked about the room until the house elf reappeared. "Good." Answered Pyro and began to follow the elf until what the elf said actually struck him. Miss Blackfire? "Wait what?" Pyro reached out and grabbed the elfs shoulder and spun him to face him. "What do you mean Miss Blackfire? This family is known as Logton." Did she actually change her last name.
Pyro couldn't help but groan. If they started to use the Blackfire name Pyro's father would easily find them, and he wouldn't be very happy.

Cassandra walked down the back staircase that led from the upper floors to the first floor. As she walked into the fastidiously cleaned kitchen, she looked to her left and saw Jonas leading Pyro through the house. " Pyro!" she cried, and ran over to give her cousin a quick hug. " How have you been? I know you've been staying with Mary Evans?"
She turned back to look at Jonas, who looked utterly appalled. " Jonas, what is it?" she asked the house elf inquisitively. Jonas looked like he was fighting himself, and then he finally came out with it. " How dare you walk around in such trash?!" Cass looked down at her bare feet, and then at her worn ACDC tshirt and holey jeans. She just looked up at Jonas, and said, "What?"
"That is so unbecoming of a pureblood!" The house elf covered his mouth as if he was going to vomit, and then he turned to the right to bang his head against the white butcher block island. He screamed and vanished from existence.
Cass' eyes got extraordinarily big in surprise. She turned back towards Pyro. " Remind me to never ask him that again. Besides, I think you have seen me in worse." Cass smirked and walked over to what looked like two wooden pantry doors. " Want something to drink? We have about everything." She opened the right door to reveal a cleverly hidden refrigerator. " Did Jonas show you your room? Mother didn't know if you were staying the night; so, she went ahead and had a room prepared anyway."

Before Pyro was able to question the elf further Cass entered the room. Standing up straight Pyro let go of the elf and hugged Cass slightly back as she threw a hug on him. The elf seemed to the be shocked and after a glance at Cass Pyro could tell why. After the elf's outraged comment and disappearance Pyro looked at Cass. "You know, the elf has a point. That is very unbecoming of a pureblood." He said looking at her clothes.
He shook his head at her question. "No, to tell you the truth I wasn't expecting to stay the night, but I guess it wouldn't hurt." Pyro watched her for a moment and than decided to bring it up. "Your elf called you, Miss Blackfire. Don't tell me you changed your last name?" He almost hopped that her answer would be 'no' but he knew that was to good to be true.

Cass giggled at Pyro. " Look who's talking about being unbecoming of a pureblood, Mr. I-was-thrown-out-of-the-family-because-they-couldn't-control-my-behavior? Eh, I'm not worried about what he thinks. Besides, he is my "personal" elf, " Cass mimicked her fingers in quotation marks as she said personal," Mother is using him to spy on me, I know. I forced it out of him one night while Craig and mother were at some kind of ministry event." Cassie continued to rummage through the refrigerator and pulled out some cheese. " Hungry? I'm making a sandwich."
Cass went to the large stone basin that was in the corner. After pouring some water in the bowl, she scrubbed her hands. Cass stopped momentarily as Pyro asked about the name change. " Um...yeah..." Cass became very tense, and avoided Pyro's gaze. " Yeah, mother's idea. She wants to be able to wield the same power she did before, you know, left." Cass shook her hands and Little droplets of water flew from her hands. Taking a black dishtowel from a nearby stand, she began to rub her hands against the the terry cloth. " I can't blame her though. I mean, I know when I used the Blackfire name around Jack Randel and he took notice."
Cass positioned herself by the butcher block island and began to slice the block of cheese with a sharp knife. " Don't tell anyone this, but I'm really nervous about it. Mom thinks we are going to take the wizarding world by storm, but I'm sorry to tell her that we are nothing but outcasts." Cass suddenly became uninterested in the cheese and braced herself against the table, with her hands on each corner. She sighed and looked up at the ceiling. " I don't really think she understands what a threat your father is. I mean, a man who is willing to disown is son...." Cass averted her eyes from the ceiling and looked toward the door that led to the front of the house. She bit her lip. " I'm just afraid something is going to come through that door one day and we won't stand a chance. You know, like the Death Eaters at school...."
Cass suddenly came back to reality, and began to slice the cheese again. Silent, she finished her sandwich. Changing the subject, she went back to her clothing. " I'm not too worried about my clothes. I will change if we go anywhere. Anyways, I bet you wanna see the house. Why don't you follow me?"

Pyro couldn't help but smirk at Cass's comment about him being thrown out of the house. If only you knew. he thought to himself. His mind was brought back to that day where he had his secret meeting with his father and had arranged to be placed back into the Blackfire name, but now was not the time. "Yea, I'll take a sandwich." He answered to her question and followed her. Cass became very tense when the subject of her name change came up. He couldn't help but sigh. "Your mother clearly didn't think this through. She can never wield that power again unless my father allows it. When your mother and father left the magic world they disappeared without a trace. My father, being than the head of the family requested that the records be removed. As far as the ministry is concerned, a Cynthia, Danial and Cassandra Blackfire Don't exist."
Pyro fell quite. "At the moment you are able to pass off as a Blackfire because you still have your fathers family ring, that is the only think that could help your case and father could simply call it a lost artifact and turn your mother into a lier. Imagine the outcast life than. On top of everything else if you flaunt and use the name my father will have a very easy time of finding you, and I don't doubt that he can call in a few favors from some of his death eater pals."
Pyro fell silent once more. Pyro had to figure something out. If his father found Cass, Pyro would have a deep hole to get out off. His father might even go so far as to say Pyro had to finish the job. When Cass offered to show him the house he nodded and followed her. letting her digest on his words.

After making Pyro a quick sandwich to his specifications, Cass gave him the grand tour. Pointing the the room off the kitchen, she showed him the billiards room quickly and took him up the back stairs to the second floor. Cass still lingered over those few words from Pyro, Death Eater friends. Cass was scared, but she would never admit it to her cousin. Cass knew his father was dangerous and crazy to boot. However, she couldn't help but think her mother made the right decision. " I know it's dangerous to do this Pyro, but I can't help but think it is right. This thing," she pointed kind of dramatically to the trinket that had formed itself to fit her ring finger," Never would of came to me unless it was supposed too. I can't help but think that all of this came out for a reason. I mean, why now?"
Cass continued to lead the way through the home, showing Pyro the grand rooms that it held inside. After showing Pyro the large library at the end of the hallway, with its raised ceiling that allowed the room to encompass two levels, she headed back to a closed door that they had passed. Pointing across the hall, she pointed to a medium sized bedroom that was adorned in silver, green, and black. " That's the guest bedroom for you. Mother thought Slytherin colors were appropriate, but I told her she didn't have to overdo it, but she did anyways. You're right across the hall from me." She opened the oak door to reveal a large room that was flooded with the color. A large bed with black bedspread and bedecked with a a gold canopy was in the far corner of the room. The walls were painted in a maroon color with a band of gold adorning the walls. The dresser and chest of drawers were topped with pictures of friends and various knickknacks. In one corner, a dress dummy stood wearing a green gown. Another corner contained a large overstuffed chair with a table and floor lamp nearby. Behind the chair stood an oak bookcase with various titles.
" Yep, I love this room." Cass made a running leap and landed in the soft pillows on her bad. Smiling broadly, " I could really get used to this pureblood stuff." Grinning widely, " Is Blackfire Manor as nice as this place? I'm afraid to say it, but I will probably never get to see the old family home. My old house was a dump compared to this place what with the plaster falling off the walls and holes in the bathroom floor. It was very hard to keep up after dad got sick." Remembering her father, she motioned for Pyro to come into the room. " Have you ever seen a picture of my father? He looks like a normal Blackfire with the blond hair." She handed Pyro a photo of her and her father. Cass, as a very young girl, was sitting in her father's lap laughing at a stuffed dragon that her father just given her. She still had that dragon, and it actually laid nearby. " He was a great man. You would of never of known he was your father's brother."

Pyro took the sandwich that was offered to him and followed Cass through the house while eating. He looked at all the rooms as they passed them. He marked them mentally, making sure to never get lost in this house. Pyro turned to her. "The right thing? The only reason that ring came to you was because your father died. He had it because he kept it when he fled the wizarding world. He was a Blackfire." Pyro said and sighed. He couldn't deny their need to want the name back, but under those circumstances, it was a fools quest. At least for Cass's mother. Charles might forgive Cass since she wasn't born and he might even let her into the family. That is, if he would overlook her going into Gryffindor.
Pyro looked at his room and at its coloring. He grinned. " I don't think she overdid it at all." He said. He turned and looked at her room. "Now, this room might need some changes." He said as she surveyed the room. He walked over and took the picture and looked down at his unknown uncle for the first time. Cass was correct. He did look like a Blackfire, and he did have a striking resemblance to Charles. Pyro smirked as he looked lower at the younger Cass. "Nice toy." He said glancing at her.

" Yeah, I still have it. I'm surprised I never showed it to you before. I've had it at Hogwarts for the past three years. I thought I had shown it to everybody." Hearing a door slam downstairs, Cass got up from the bed and looked out the large bay window that was in the far corner of the room. " Oh, Craig's home! Craig is my brother. He owns a Kendo studio in Birmingham." Grabbing him by the hand, she led him down the staircase to the front foyer. Jonas was taking a cloak from a young blond haired man that had just entered the front door. He looked like he was in his early twenties, and he had deep blue eyes. Looking at the siblings, you would never of guessed they were brother and sister. While Cassandra looked positively inviting with her dark hair and bright hazel eyes; he looked very stand offish. Cassandra could see his black BMW in the driveway through the door.
" Craig! How was the school today?" She waited for him to reply but was only greeted by a sneer. Looking undaunted, she smiled big. " Um, this is our cousin, Pyro. I don't think the two of you have met." Craig walked up to Pyro and didn't even extend his hand. " Pyro, I presume. Cassandra tells me you are into martial arts." He smirked and crossed his arms across his chest. " Suddenly a crash was heard next to them. Jonas had tripped over the long robe that he had been given by Craig.
" Stupid house elf." Craig walked over and kicked the elf in the ribs. Cass gasped in astonishment as the elf squeaked in pain. " Craig! You didn't have to do that!" She helped the the small elf up to its feet.
