Mitch was in the the library for the second day in a row, He got there the same time as he did the day before and took the same seat near the window that he was using yesterday. He had been there over an hour with his head berried in the huge book he'd been reading it called the way to good grades in herbology or some-thing along those lines.
After nearly two days reading he pretty much finish his book so before he turned on to the last page he paused and looked at the pile in front of him to see witch book to read next he looked at the books for a minute didn't see a book that took his fancy so he began reading the last page of the book in his hand. He had just closed the book he was reading and was resting his eyes when he remembered he had to read up on muggles for muggle studies so he began looking for a book on muggles. After looking for 2 hours with no hope he gave up went and sat back at his table where he sat looking out of the window .
It was a nice day and after be stuck behind a book all day it was blinding . After a minute his eyes adjusted and he look over at the lake and relaxed in his chair.

Once again, Zachary found himself drowning in homework. He frowned. No one had ever said school was going to be this hard. Mason should have told him. The library seemed to be his new home. Zachary was finding himself there more often then ever, and it was starting to get to him. The work load was too much for an eleven year-old, he thought. If only there was some puny little Hufflepuff he could bully into doing his homework for him. But there wasn't. Being small himself, Zachary would have a hard time bullying anyone, even a Hufflepuff. It was as if he wanted to, anyway. He wasn't the bullying type. Not really.
The tables were full, just like last time. He sighed. There was another Slytherin in the back, and Zachary was almost certain he was a first year. Mitch or Michael or something. Whatever. It didn't matter--not if he had a place to sit. He could learn the other boy's name some other time. Shifting the weight of his bag on his shoulder, Zachary stomped over to the boy, eyebrows knitted in thought. The table was littered with books, causing Zachary to snort in something akin to disgust. He himself wasn't the neatest person in the world, but the other boy didn't need to keep all of his books on the table, did he? He wasn't going to need them all at once.
There was a Muggle Studies book there, bringing out another disgusted snort. What a waste of bloody time. Who wanted to sit around and learn about the difference between a fellytone and telly? And Mitch being a Slytherin. That made it all the worse. Why in the seven hells would a Slytherin be subjecting himself to that kind of torture? It was obscene. But it was the only nearly empty table with what seemed to be at least a half-decent person at it, and Zachary was in no position to pass that up--muggles studies or not. With a long, suffering sigh, he stopped in front of the other boy and asked coolly, "Do you mind if I sit here, as well?"

Mitch looked up at the Slytherin boy and said '' Sure just give me a minute '' he grab the muggle studies book and cleared some space for his fellow slytherin. Then with a grin said '' sorry about the mess I'm a bit behind '' .

Zachary didn't return the smile, but waited impatiently for the other boy to clear a space, scowling slightly. "I'm Zachary Grey." He said stiffly, holding out his hand. He was always a little shy around people he didn't know, a bit over-polite. It only seemed proper to introduce himself before sitting down. One should always know the people around oneself. "Are you in first year? I haven't seen you yet, but then, this is a rather large castle. I might have simply overlooked you." Good gods, he was reminding himself of Ariane. The way she had spoken in the alcove didn't seem that far from the way Zachary was speaking at the moment, at least not to him.
Maybe he ought to try being a bit more friendly? Zachary wasn't sure. He wasn't a very social person, but this boy didn't appear to be judgemental. Not at all, actually, according to the way he's greeted Zachary. Maybe you had to change the way you spoke to certain people depending on their personalities. He decided to play it safe. Jus be polite, until they got to know one another. Then maybe they could be a bit less formal. "Thank you for sharing the...table. It's very crowded, as you can see. I was beginning to think I might not be able to get my work done, and we all know what a tragedy that would be." He smiled nervously, more to himself than anyone else.

Mitch looked the boy that he now new was Zachary Grey with a wierd grin he didn't understand why he was so polite, then said '' Hi im Mitch '' and he to put his hand out as a show of friendship then said '' yeah im a first year but im nomaly her or in my dorm but i've seen you in herbology ''. Mitch thought he was eing rude so he stood up and put his hand out again and said '' Hi '' .

Zachary nodded and shook Mitch's hand, relaxing a little. Mitch seemed to be very laid-back, which out him at ease. "Oh? That's strange. It's usually where I am, as well. I s'pose we just missed each other or something." He sat, dropping his bag next to the chair with a small "thump" of leather against carpet. Zachary hated that bag. It used to be his older brother Mason's, but had been given to him upon receiving his letter. "I think I saw you in Herbology once, but I wasn't really paying attention. I had...er...a lot on my mind." He flushed ever so slightly at the memory of what "a lot on my mind" was. Passing notes to friend was stressful business.
Pulling out a random book, Zachary turned back to Mitch and asked, "What do you think of it so far? Hogwarts, I mean. It's really something, isn't it?" He wasn't usually very good at making small talk, but Zachary thought he was doing pretty good. Sure, the topic of school was a bit generic, but that's what small talk was, wasn't it? He put the thought aside and opened the book, which turned out to be a history on goblin rebellion of the late eighteenth century. How boring. The writer did nothing for the story, making it sound like another one of Binns' lectures. Great bloody battles sounded like nothing more than a reading of a bill of rights, or a legal contract. Zachary frowned. One day, maybe he's write his own textbook. He'd be sure to make it interesting.
Without waiting for Mitch to answer his first question, Zachary started talking again, which was quite unusual for him. He was such a quiet boy normally. "What do you think of classes? I think Transfiguration's okay, and potions, but everything is else is just so boring. I mean, take Herbology, for example. It's such a waste of time. Why do we need to know about potting this, and planting that, or not touching the tentacles on this because it'll make your head swell? It's really a muggle class, when you think about it, except for the fact that it's magical plants we're learning about. But, well, it is taught by a Hufflepuff." He paused expectantly, waiting for Mitch's response.

Mitch didn't know where to start but went with the last question first so he took a breath and said '' I think potions and charms are alright but herbology just some-thing for the mudbloods and Hogwarts it got to be the best school i nearly fainted when i got my letter ''. Mitch was now sitting on his muggle studies book he was really ashamed about doing that class but his mum told him to do it . He was starting to relax, when he remember he had to finish the chapter he was on and he tensed up again he didn't have many friends so he was happy that he was making one .
Mitch asked Zachary what home-work they got in herbology ? , he thought it was easier to do the work then loss house point for not doing it .

"Yeah, Herbology's useless." Zachary agreed. "Potions is cool, but Professor Snape's a bit imposing." He nodded and scratched his quill on a black sheet of parchment, leaving a thick, green line trailing behind. He examined it and added another, drawing little points on the ends. He frowned slightly at Mitch's question, still drawing. "I never know what homework is, mate. Sorry." The line had become an exploding star, followed shortly by a planet that seemed to be revolving around it. "I have no memory for those sorts of things. Actually, I was hoping you'd know." He shrugged and drew an alien jumping off the planet and on to an astroid that happened to be floating by.
Finishing his work of "art," Zachary held up the picture for examination, tracing the green ink with his index finger. The tip of his finger was stained green with undried ink. Some spots on the parchment had been smeared. He grinned. Now it looked a royal mess. Not your average alien picture at all. "What do you like to do? You know, like, hobbies and stuff?" Zachary loked up at Mitch, raising an eyebrow. It wa a trick he'd learned from Mason over the summer, and one which he was very proud of. "I like to write." Zachary continued, still admiring his drawing. "And draw. But other than that I'm pretty boring. I like reading, as well." He trailed off, tossing the smudged parchment aside and pulling forward his goblin rebellion book.
"I don't like reading this stuff, though. It's bloody boring. The battles sound like a ballet, or something." He shook his head negatively. "Whoever wrote this should be put under Cruciatus for the rest of their life until they go mad. This stuff is junk." He tossed the book after the parchment disdainfully before turning back to Mitch. "So, you haven't answered yet--what kind of stuff do you like to do?" He tilted his head to the side a bit and yawned. It had been a rather long day. Zachary was pretty tired, but he had to get his homework done. If he could remember it, that was.

Mitch was thinking about what he liked to do well he liked to skate board but he couldn't saw he liked doing muggle things so he said '' I like to play Quidditch'' Mitch looked around the library then said '' and torturing hufflepuffs and i kinda like drawing but I'm not very good how did you get so good at drawing ?''. While Mitch was waiting for a answer he reached down for his bag where he pulled out ''A beginners guide to transfiguration'' and opening it midway than he just sat waiting .

Zachary shrugged. "I really can't draw very well. It's just a picture." He smiled slightly and buried himself back in his book, scribbling notes about various battles and treaties. It really was ridiculous. Who cared what goblin died when and who shot who? They were all dead, weren't they? It wasn't as though they were going to come back and haunt him for messing up a date or mistaking Gorboric the Gory for Gorbin the Grave. Good gods, he loathed history. It was so...pointless. And Binns. Binns was a nightmare in himself. Boring as all heck, he was. Why, oh why, Zachary asked himself, didn't the man just go to a grave when he died like everyone else?

Mitch started putting the books he wasn't using away they were making him look like a Hufflepuff, he put away nearly all of his book but he left out intermediate transfiguration and magical drafts and potion.
Mitch picked up magical drafts and potions and quickly flicked though it he then opened it to about the tenth page and began reading. Mitch stopped at the bottom of the page and looked around the library then began reading again.
Mitch finished the chapter then he switched book and began to read intermediate transfiguration . Mitch liked transfiguration he thought it was cool being able to turn things into animals but what he wanted was to be able to turn into a animal him self he would love to be a Animagus . Mitch asked Zachary '' would you ever try and become a Animagus ?'' Mitch sat back in his chair thinking about what it would be like while he waited for a reply.
