Ryan was darkly muttering to himself. At first he had been so anxious when he heard there is going to be a Halloween ball. He had thought of a girl he wanted to invite to it immidiately. But now things weren’t as simple anymore. Seriously. She was so filled with life. Ryan had been a fool when he had thought that she wouldn’t already have a date by now. Who wouldn’t want to go with her? Ryan turned on his heel and started moving back towards the Ravenclaw common room. He couldn’t very well ask her now anymore! What if she laughed at his face for even getting the idea in his that that she might want to go with him. The small annoying voice in the back of Ryan’s head couldn’t help but ask back however. But what is she would say yes? Groaning loudly Ryan turned again and started walking forwards once again ignoring the weird looks being sent his way. He woul djust have to get it together and ask her. Exactly. Nothing difficult about it. Just ask.
Moving down the hallway Ryan gave a msall relieved smile upon sighting the familiar blond head that sat in front of him in Charms usually. At least he wouldn’t have time to redecide his opinion a few hundred times while he was searching for Ashley. The small was disappeared after a moment as Ryan was faced with the fact that he was now going to have to actually state the question he had been rolling around in his head for days out aloud. Taking a deep breath Ryan picked up her speed as Ashley seemed to be moving down the hallway alone and caught up with the girl.
„Hi,“ Ryan gave a bit uncomfortable smile, feeling sillily nervous as his dimple flashed in his cheek for a moment while he smiled, „Um, I don’t know if you know who I am, but I sit behind you in Charms. My name is Ryan. Ummm...“ Ryan looked around the hallway a bit umcofortable. Should Ashley laugh at his face for asking her, he would want her to do so in the middle of a rather crowded hallway. „Er, could I talk to you for a moment?“ Ryan pointed towards the bit more secluded alcove that was coming up soon and gave Ashley a small smile, „DO you have the time to spare me a minute?“

Ashley sat in History of Magic with her head in the palm of her hand. Her long blond hair was up in a pony tail while her blue eyes looked at a doodle drawling on the sides of the parchment. Some doodles were shooting stars and others of hearts. Than off toward the bottom was a drawling of a dog's face with it's tongue sticking out. It wasn't the best, but Ashley wasn't much of an artist compared to any of Jordan's pieces. Now Jordan's drawings were so much better. Ashley liked the drawling of a little kitten that she drew. It looked liked it was Tigger as a kitten when Ashley got him as a birthday present from Elina.
Professor Binns floated in front of the class. She could see the green chalk board behind his see through body. He was talking about some kind of war....well Ashley wasn't really paying much attention. History of Magic wasn't her favorite subject and is always getting low marks on everything. Ashley of course would show Elina first than her older sister would just nod and sigh and give her the same speech as always. Normally Elina was the one always making her do homework and helping her little sister study. Elina was good at almost anything that had to do with school. It was hard living up to her older sister. But nobody could be the best at everything.
The noise level around Ashley began to get louder as students started to leave. Ashley looked up from her doodles, her blue eyes coming back to life. Class was over...Class was over! Stuffing her books into her shoulder bag Ashley slung the strap over her shoulder. This was the last class of the day for Ashley but she still had homework to do. Why was their such thing? Wasn't sitting through class for almost two hours long enough? Giggling at her own thoughts Ashley began to walk out of the classroom to the Huffelpuff common room ready to get started on homework. Remember to ask Elina for help on History of magic homework she thought to herself.
Walking down the hallways Ashley couldn't help but smile as she twirled around a couple of times. She was so happy to be out of that dull classroom and that there weren't anymore classes for the rest of the day. A bubbly feeling filled Ashley's stomach as she settled down. As a young girl Ashley would always be so hyper and couldn't control her excitement. But over the summer things seemed to changed but she was still her hyper self. Looking around to find Lenora or Ivy Ashley continued to walk down the hall. Her mind than began to think about the Halloween Ball and how much fun she would have dancing with her friends.
Ashley's thoughts trailed off as somebody started to speak behind her. Turning around to face them Ashley smiled as it was Ryan Wilkinson a fifth year Ravenclaw that sat behind her in Charms. She didn't know him at all but he seemed quite nervous about something. "Hi Ryan! Sure I have time." she said excitedly taking a couple of steps toward the wall so they could be out of the way from the mobs of students walking down the hall. "Is there anything you need?" Ashley asked tucking a strand of blond hair behind her ear that was falling from her ponytail.

Ashley agreed to talk to him and if possible then this made Ryan even more nervous. What if she actually did have a date already? What if.. There were so many ifs running aorund in Ryna’s head that he felt even more awkward and tongue-tied than usual. „Um, yes, I actually... I... ah...,“ Ryan felt a small blush grazing his cheeks as he stared at the strand of blond hair Ashley tucked behind her ear. Shaking his head quickly to try and clear his thinking Ryan gave a bit apologetic smile to Ashley, hoping the girl didn’t take him for an complete moron. „I actualyl wanted to ask you something. I’ve seen youa reound school and in classes and ah, I was wondering that maybe, you don’t have to if oyu don’t want to surely, but perhaps if you don’t have any plans yet...,“ Ryan closed his eyes and just blurted out his question randomly, „Would you go the Halloween ball with me?“
Opening his eyes again Ryan mentally slapped his forehead. Great. Just great. Was this any way to ask a girl to the ball? He was awkward, tumbling over his own words and then just blurting it out so tactlessly. Ryan gave a smile at Ashley trying to smooth things a little. „You don’t have to certainly if you don’t want to or if you ahve a date already, it’s just that you always seem so full of life and happy that I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask if you perhaps didn’t have much plans yet,“ Ryan tried to smooth things out before slipping a hand through his hair and suddenly getting over his shyness. He had asked after all. He had done all he could, the ball was now in Ashley’s court. A smile spread on Ryan’s fac as his dimple flashed it’s appearance once: „If you would even think about it after seeing the fool I just appeared to be.“

Ryan started to get even more nervous as he began to stutter words out. He was making Ashley slightly nervous but she stayed slightly calm waiting for Ryan to ask her his question. It was probably about getting notes from Charms. But why would that make him so nervous? Ashley heart literally stopped for a second as he asked her to go to the Halloween ball. Looking around to make sure he wasn't to talk to somebody else. Ashley was a very common name. Than it hit her. He was asking her to the ball! Ashley dropped her books right there and stared at Ryan in shock. Why would someone like him ask her? He was a really talented Quidditch player and was pretty cute. Ryan also barely knew Ashley! What made her so special that he wanted to go to the ball with her and not some other Ravenclaw fifth year?
Shaking her trail of thoughts Ashley bent over to pick up the books at Ryan's feet her checks turning slightly red. Once she was collected Ashley looked back at Ryan so much happiness swelling inside her. Jumping toward Ryan Ashley brought him into a hug and almost tackled him to the flour but he must of caught his balance. More excitement rushed through Ashley as she began to realize what she was doing. Pulling back Ashley felt her checks turn even bright while her heart pumped madly in her chest. "Yes I will go to the ball with you!" she finally said. Ryan told her that she was full of life and happiness which made her checks turn even redder. "You really think so? Sorry I just never been asked out before. Hope I didn't hurt you." she said taking a deep breath. She had a date!

Ryan was feeling incredibly helpless as he bowed to help Ashley pick up her books. Had his invitations really insulted her that much? Ashley got all her books and Ryan was taken by a surprise as the girl suddenly launched herself at him. Tumbling back a step Ryan managed to catch his balance again placing his arms a bit hesitentaly around Ash’s waist. A wide smile broke out over Ryan’s face as she looked at the blond girl who pulled back a little. She had actually said yes? She would be coming to the ball with him? The dimple that always appeared in his right cheek when he was smiling flashed brightly as Ryan laughed out loud happily. Jumping forward Ryan grabbed Ashley and twirled her around in the air while continuing to laugh. Finally setting Ashley’s legs back onto the ground Ryan grinned at his brightly.
“Perfect. You can’t imagine how many times I almost turned around thinking that you will certainly already have a date and turn me down! All other guys in the school must have gone blind or have temporary insanity for not asking you already! But that’s all the better for me!” Ryan smiled and gave Ashley one more quick smile before backing up a few steps and just grinning widely at the girl, “And I’m just a bit overly-exited. About actually having the greatest girl to take to the ball with me!” Ryan smiled happily at Ashley pushing down the urge to twirl her around once again.

Ashley laughed as Ryan picked her up and started to spin. She listened to his laugh and closed her close. Her father would always do the same thing, which made Ashley feel more comfortable. A glowing smile was placed on her lips as Ashley's felt like dancing. She was so happy that Ryan shared the same enthusiasm. In some muggle movies and books she read the guy would always try to act calm after the girl accepts to go out with him. Ryan was different. Ashley liked those kind of movies but rather preferred action packed movies with a suspenseful plot.
Once the spinning stopped Ashley opened her eye and stared up at Ryan, her smiling returning. She couldn't help but smile. Heat began to rise in Ashley's checks as Ryan mentioned that it would be crazy for a guy not to ask her out and that she was his prefect date. "I'm glad that you took the guts to ask me. Um....Uh..." Ashley stammered with her words not really knowing what to say after his sweet comments. Taking a couple steps forward Ashley hugged Ryan on last time before taking backing away. "Thank you Ryan. Your really sweet." she whispered glued to her spot not knowing really what to do next.
