She had hardly been able to eat for a week now. The stress of the upcoming Quidditch match against Slytherin was enough to make any thought of food have a rather queasy reaction. Despite all of her worrying, as well as lack of sleep and appetite, the morning of th match finally came. After she got up and dressed she made her way to the great hall. She had put out a message for the team to all meet at the far end of the table so that could eat breakfast together. She thought it was a good idea because she had an idea a lot of people would be nervous. Hopefully they would be able to help keep eachothers worries under control.
The great hall was almost completely empty, as most people unless they were on the Quidditch team didn't get up this early on match days. She looked across the Hufflepuff table and saw that she was the first one up. She was happy about it in a way, but at the same time, she hopped someone from the team would join her soon. If she was alone for too long, there was no telling how far her worries could go.

Jordan was up early. Too early for her taste, but she was still up. And she had decided to take a jog around the lake until breakfast was ready. Today was the day of the quidditch match against Slytherin, and although Jordan wasn't playing the whole game; she was still rather nervous. Of course, she did all the calming down techniques she could think of, but she was still shaking as she jogged along the shore line of the lake. A small mist was over the water, and there were ripples forming from the middle where the squid lay asleep. It was nearing time for breakfast and Jordan wondered if she should be heading in soon, as the sun began to rise she decided it was indeed time for her to go in.
She gathered up her bag and took out her wand. Jordan quickly muttered a spell that would change her outfit into her school uniform and her hair was pulled into two high ponytails with blonde ends. Nothing like Badger Pride on the morning of the big match. Jordan smiled as she pushed open the doors to the Great Hall. There were few students in there, and she wondered if she was the first at the Hufflepuff table. She soon saw she was mistaken. Nokomis Astarra was already sitting down, alone, but she was still there.
Nokomis was the Captain of the Quidditch team, she was young, but she had enough Hufflepuff spirit for the whole of Hogwarts, plus some. She was a great Captain, and even though she was timid and looked to be a nervous wreck right then. Jordan headed over to the table and took a seat next to Nokomis, "Good Morning!" She said in a cheerful tone of voice.

Day of the Quidditch match. Not good. Ivy rolled over and tried frantically to go back to sleep. She didn't want to get up. Not to go and face Slytherin. But what was coming over her? She had to get up! She had to go and be strong for Nokomis, and the rest of the team for that matter. Far end of Great Hall table, Ivy remembered. She washed her face with cold water and dressed hurriedly before heading down to breakfast. Madness even playing on the team. What did she expect? They would have to play against Slytherin some time. But then again, they hadn't done that then, she hadn't known. Besides, Quidditch did give her something to channel herself into. She'd needed it before. Now Hufflepuff needed her to be strong. And most of all, Nokomis. Ivy felt tired, and probably looked a little dishevelled, only having brushed her hair glancingly, as she walked down to the great hall, A few Slytherins jeered at her on her way, evidently hoping to put her off. They weren't helping.
The castle felt cold this morning. Ivy hoped it was decent outside. Although they didn't want the sun to be too dazzling. Maybe from behind the Hufflepuff hoops. Wouldn't disadvantage the Keeper, Kim, Ivy thought it was today, but it would make things harder for the Slytherin Chasers. As long as it didn't do that at the Slytherin end. Ivy hadn't been playing Quidditch that long that she could shoot reliably into the sun, even without a Keeper there. Ivy felt the little Quaffle pendant, emblazoned with a yellow H, around her neck, and felt slightly better. Nokomis was there to support her. And there she was in the flesh, just as she'd promised, at the end of the table nearest the wall. Ivy hurried over, giving the second year a small smile. One of the Beaters was there as well, Jordan Lehane. Ivy gave her a smile too and flopped into the chair on the other side of Nokomis. "Morning," she said simply. Ivy looked up at the ceiling, a pale blue tinged with streaks of orange. "Nice day so far then," she commented, sounding a good deal more composed and calm than she felt.

Laura braided her head while keeping a wary eye on the piece of parchment all around her. They seemed to be floating around everywhere whenever one more warm gust of wind blew in from the window. Finishing the thick braid Laura picked up a pencil once again and continued sketching the view to the greenhouses from the window. With the sun reflecting from them, the view was surprisingly good. With her pencil moving quickly over the paper Laura started sketching their quidditch team. Today was the big day. The match – Laura’s first – against Slytherin was coming up. Trying to catch everyone’s mood and personality as much as she could – hyper people were actually even easier to draw.
Finally glancing at her clock Laura noticed that it was time to go and get some breakfast – Nokomis had wanted them to have breakfast together today. Thinking of quidditch got Laura humming as she gathered her pieces of paper and pencils together once again Laura walked downstairs to the Great Hall and entered it. Eyeing the Slytherin table, she saw that Nokomis, Ivy and Jordan were already there, so she smiled finally recognizing the song she had been humming. “Take me out to quidd-itch take me out to the pitch chasers and beaters and keep-ers too Its just root-root-root for your house team 'Cuse we want to win the house cup Its one-two-three games a house When the players mount up! “ Laura sang happily the song Nokomis had written as she was near the other members of the team and sat down opposite of Ivy, before smiling shyly at everyone: “Good morning.”

Into the great hall, he heard a song! Quidditch song! Little girl talked to them and taught them song! He ran towards table where some players where and started yelling it out. "Take me out to quidditch, take me out to the pitch!"
He then jumped onto the bench where people were sitting and pulnked down next to some girl...Name, name...she had name...Laura! "Quidditch today! Me play Beater! Beater! Beater! Beater!"

"Susan!!! Time to get up!" Hannah screamed to her best friend / roommate / teammate while throwing a pillow at her bed. It was the day of the game and Hannah's stomach was filled to the brim with butterflies. But she knew they could do well, they had to do well. Hufflepuff had yet to win a match all year and it didn't help their final game was against Slytherin. Hannah counted on being pulled onto the pitch this game though she had to admit she was relieved not to be a starter.
She didn't notice if her friend stirred, or if she was even there for that matter though. She was more concerned with getting herself ready and despite her Huffle nature was too nervous to make sure Susan was up. "Wish me luck Piglet" she whispered to her favorite stuffed animal while tucking him in once she was ready.
As she made her way down to the Great Hall the common room appeared deserted. She knew the only ones up at this hour would be the players. Nokomis had set they have a team breakfast this morning and Hannah did not want to be late. As she pushed open the doors a great smile spread across her face. The first table was empty, there were no Slytherins there to stare her down as she crossed to her own table, and she heard the most fabulous sound. Someone, namely Dillion, was singing their quidditch song.
"Hello all!" she said cheerily to Nokomis, Jordan, Ivy, Laura, and Dill as she sat down across from the latter. She started pilling food onto her plate even though she was uncertain as to whether she could eat with her stomach in such knots. She was trying to put on a good face though; if she is nervous it will only make others more scared, if she is fine maybe it will help calm. "Can someone pass me some orange juice please?" she asked in a chipper voice.

"Beater, Beater Beat-ER! Beater, BEater Beat-ER! Wanna play now. No waiting. Waiting no fun. Play! Where the bludger. Need Bluder. Wait. Bat. Bat. Bat. Need bat...had a bat...where. Somewhere...Hit Bludger with bat! Hannah!"
She came and sat. didn't know her well, but knew he a bit. Same year. 6 years long time togheter. Easy to know someone little bit after that.
"Quidditch Hannah! Quidditch! Orange Juice! Everony have orange juice. Good breakfast. Wake up for match"
Jumped forward standing up on his seat to reach for the piture and leaned across table pouring into cup.
"Anyone? Anyone? Refill!"

Susan was rudely awoken by a something hitting the back of her head. Hearing her friend Hannah's shrill voice, she muttered, "..Bugger off..." Without removing the pillow that had hit the back of her head, she curled back in her four poster bed. She could hear the stirrings of the room around her. Didn't people understand that it was nine in the morning and she had a Quidditch match today?
Quidditch Match! The thought flitted across her brain one more time and she sat up straight in her bed in a panic. She had totally forgotten about the game. She should of been up an hour ago! Looking around, she noticed that everyone had left the room. Making herself as presentable as possible in the shortest amount of time, she finally grabbed her broom and headed down to breakfast.
Walking into the Great Hall, she noticed that most of the team was already there. Sliding onto the bench next to Hannah, she said, " Gosh Hannah, you should of woken me up! I might of slept through the entire match. You know you're my personal alarm clock." She smiled gratefully at her friend, knowing she had tried to wake her up. Addressing the entire Quidditch, " So, how goes it folks? Are we ready for today?"

Hannah giggled “Yes Dill, Quidditch.” Hannah said happily as she began to munch on some cereal watching him get the juice and pour her a cup. Being Hannah she of course blushed crimson, “Thanks” she said to him looking down. As she continued to eat Susan came in and chastised her for not waking her up. She simply batted her hand at her best friend. “Mmm” she said in response to the question of how things were going and if they were ready. “Would be better if I could find a way to borrow some of Dill’s energy. You know I think he has more than enough to share.” She quipped in a playful manner. She really did wish she could be like that sometimes. He always seemed chipper and full of boundless energy.

Beamed and Hannah's idea. Great idea! Share the energy! Enough tot go around. How to get out out though. Tried shaking head once...didn't come out ear like he thought it would. Not trying again now. Made me dizzy! No like Dizzy. Fall down then. Quiddich! No fun to fall down. Far fall from broom.
"I can share! Plenty to share. No falling off broom though, nope. Not going to try that again. Share energy though. Share..Share..Share...best way to share...Ah! Dance. All you have to do is Dance! Just Dance! Energy there! Good luck dance! Have song, now need dance to go with. Give everyone energy, lots energy happening! Hannah! Dance with me!"

Hannah laughed as Dill went into how he could share his energy but falling off his broom would be bad. It made no sense to her but coming from Dill it was hilarious; everything was funny when coming from Dill. When he suggested dancing she looked down cheeks flaming. “Hannah! Dance with me!” she heard and stood up with a silly schoolgirl grin. In a bold move she stood up on the bench, took a step onto the table, flicked her wand to make music play, and offered her hand down to Dill. “We had best move down away from everyone’s breakfast though. Hope no one comes in to eat any time soon; especially teachers.” She said with a small giggle stomach aflutter.

"Dance!!" Grabbed her hand and hopped away from others. Table empty here. Grabbing Hannah's other hand, bounced around, belting out little girl song on game. "Take me out to quidditch take me out to the pitch chasers and beaters and keepers too Then the Seekers they know what to do! Its just root-root-root for the HUFFIES 'Cuse we want to win the house cup Its one-two-three games a house When the players mount up!" Start spinning gin circles, bouncing with Hannah, singing lound so every hear! Even other teams! Everyone hear Huffie song!

Hannah grinned as Dill took her hand and they began bouncing around further down the table. She danced but couldn't find her voice to sing the Quidditch song with him. Her mind was a mess and her heart was drumming in her ears a million miles a minute. She was looking down at her feet to make sure she didn't fall off the side by kept sending glances at each of the doors in turn petrified a teacher would walk in any moment.

It wasn't as if he was late for the breakfast. The captain, now what was her name, the little girl who seemed far to young to be in charge, Nokomis, that was it. She had said to meet at seven o'clock, and it was now precisely seven. He was never one for being early. Those who are early are trying to hard his mother always said, and he never wanted to try too hard. He instead would always try the exact right amount.
He walked into the Great Hall, proudly bearing a pin he had designed the night before that flashed 'Badger Pride.' He had made a second one for Hannah, and it was currently safely in his pocket waiting to be pinned on her. Upon entering the nearly abandoned room, he thought he heard something, as if someone was singing, but that was not right. After all, why would there be singing in the Great Hall. Of course, that was the exact moment that he looked over at the Hufflepuff table.
"Hannah Kathrin Abbot! What in Merlin's name are you doing?"

Jordan watched as the rest of the Hufflepuff team came into the Great Hall. She sighed and drank her orange juice in peace, letting the liquid hydrate her body. She cut into her french toast as her eyes followed Dill and Hannah dancing on the table. She quietly ate, listening to them sing- and then she looked up to see Ernie yelling at Hannah from the entrance. She giggled and continued to eat her french toast. She wasn't hyper, in fact she found that she was losing her hyper-ness do to the fact of having to grow up. She now realised she couldn't stop it.
It was a different Jordan, a different her; and frankly Jordan wasn't sure she liked it. But there wasn't much she could do about it. That day by the lake with Robin, Sadie, and Ashley made Jordan realise that her life was starting to evolve- and she needed to take control of it. She never thought she could be anything but hyper and a prankster- but she proved herself wrong. Jordan continued to eat her food, the syrupy goodness teasing her taste-buds. She sat there, contemplating her different attitude towards life as everyone else was being prepared for Quidditch. Jordan couldn't help but tune out, she was too deeply involved in her own thoughts.

Hannah laughed but was too shy to sing along with Dill as they danced on the table. Suddenly though she blushed crimson as a call was heard from the vicinity of the doorway – “Hannah Kathrin Abbot! What in Merlin's name are you doing?” Ernie hollered stopping Hannah dead in her tracks. She spun toward him so quickly she began to wobble and almost fell over the edge of the table. “Ernie” she said breathlessly and gave him a sheepish grin as she hopped onto the bench then down onto the floor – too preoccupied to notice the music she had started was still playing. “Morning. Ready for the game today then?” She asked while rushing to get back into her seat so she could pretend nothing out of the ordinary had happened. She just hoped he wouldn’t try and ask why she had done that again – because to be perfectly honest she had no idea. Dancing on a table in the Great Hall was totally out of character for Hannah – right before everyone came in for breakfast she would have thought would be unthinkable…

He stared at Hannah, unable to get himself to do anything else. He never would have imagined that the day would come when he would see her on top of the Hufflepuff table in the great hall. Dancing even! Dancing with...some...some...beater. Dillion Moore, that was the boys name. He too was nearing the end of his sixth year at Hogwarts, but that meant nothing when it concerned his intelligence, nor is maturity. He never had very much to do with the boy, other than the fact they shared a dorm. In general he tried to steer rather clear of both the Moore's. They were always getting themselves into some sort of mess. He was sure that they were nice, and the other one, Payton, was a reasonable student, but that did not make up for the fact that they treated their magical education as if it were some sort of joke. "Yes Hannah, I am plenty ready for the game. Though I have a few doubts about you, and now one of our beaters as well."

Hannah looked at Ernie aghast as he said he questioned whether or not she was ready for the game. Just because he never let lose doesn’t mean she can't… Why was Ernie always judging her? Why couldn’t she be her own person? She was never good enough in his eyes. Hannah felt tears stinging the corners of her eyes. She looked down at the table blushing. “No, you’re right Ernie – you’re always right. I'm not ready for the game.” She muttered as loudly as she could but her voice refused to go higher than a whisper. With that she got up and attempted to storm out of the Great Hall though it was likely more like a brisk walk as tears started streaming down her face. She refused to look up as people filled in and brushed past her – a few obviously noticing her red face and whispering as she passed. As soon as she got out of the front doors she sprinted down the stairs and the corridor until she reached the Hufflepuff common room and collapsed on a chair near a fire.
