It was Saturday morning and breakfast. Both very positive things in Dana’s opinion. She loved eating and she loved Saturdays. So what could be better? Grinning happily Dana finished her mug of coffee and reached her hand to get some cake. Who cared that it was dessert. But Dana wanted it and she was not going to let something that trival bother her.
Just then Dana felt a pull around her navel and letting out a loud yelp burst into air only to fly about 5 metres in the air before slamming down onto the table a couple of feet from her original sitting position. Groaning Dana raised her hand and pressing one of her hands onto her bruised head that had hit the head waved to the staff table where some teachers had jumped up with alarm. Turning Dana grimaced towards the first year in front of who she had slammed down. “You called?” Dana sighed and shifted herself changing the first years hold on the wand and correcting her wrist-movement, “Accio isn’t really used on people you’re your wrist-movement is wrong.” Making sure the first year got the spell correct Dana kept a close watch on her.
The first year smiled shyly at Dana and thanked her before leaving the Great Hall. Dana just groaned and raised her hand to her head and winced as her fingers touched the bruise there. ‘Throwing her legs off the table Dana pushed someone’s goblet over and watched with ironic self-pity how orange-juice made a spot on her pants. “Sorry about that,” Dana said moving herself to the seat and raising the goblet up before glancing to see that she had pushed over a second years goblet.

Dafydd sat in the Great Hall, eating his breakfast of bacon and hash browns. It was Saturday, and having no school was a plus.
Daf took out a piece of parchment, quill, and a bottle of ink and sat it beside his plate as he began to think of what all to put into his letter to his mother.Dear mum, hope you and Kil are well. Things are fine here, really-
A loud noise made Daf look up. A girl was sitting on the Ravenclaw table right in front of him, wincing in pain. He watched her, confused, as she politely criticized the girl a few seats overs wrist movement.Oh my...using 'Accio' on a person?
Dafydd sat in amusement as he watched the younger girl who had used the spell get up and leave. The older girl swung her feet over the side of the table, knocking over Daf's goblet in the process, spilling it on her pants.
Daf quickly lifted up his parchment before the contents of his goblet were able to spill on it. Taking his wand out of his pocket, he quickly said a spell an flicked his wrist, cleaning up the orange juice and removing the spot from the older Ravenclaws pants.
Placing his wand back in his pocket, he put his parchment and writing utensils back in his bag.Maybe the breakfast table isn't the best place to write a letter
Daf picked up a piece of bacon of his plate and placed it in his mouth. After chewing it for a minute or so, he swallowed. "So, first you knock over my juice, and then you don't introduce yourself." He smiled at the girl. A weak attempt at a joke, and he knew it.

Dana was just reaching for her wand to get the stain out of her pants when the second year did it himself. Dana eyed the pants critically – the stain was out, but still…. Any clothes cleaned like that were never the same. Well, she could just wear the pants out during summer Dana decided listening half-heartedly to the boy’s words.
Smiling at him Dana touched her head gingerly once again: “Sorry, I guess I forgot. I’m Dana Coran. Also known as the ‘Wonderous Flying Girl’.” Dana grimaced and held out her hand to the boy, “But I react better, if I’m called Dana.” Looking around for the pitched of pumpkin juice Dana noticed it a bit further away. Tapping the shoulder of the older boy next o her now Dana asked for it and after getting the pitcher placed it next to the younger boy with a small grin: “As I already knocked over your own juice. I was thinking of other things if I admit the truth.”
Dana looked over to where she had been sitting and rolled her eyes seeing her sitting spot already occupied: “ I just lost my cake.” Dana pouted for a moment before sighing and deciding that some cheese would be good after all, “And you’ll have to tolerate me for some more.”

Daf laughed as the girl, Dana, also introduced herself as the 'Wonderous Flying Girl'. He took the hand she held out and shook it. Letting go, she looked at the table and tapped the boyon her other side, and asked him to pass her the pitcher of pumpkin juice. Placing it next to Daf, he took it from her and refilled his goblet
Dana pouted when she realized she lost her cake. Daf saw her eyeing the plat of cheese, so he grabbed it and passed it to her, taking a piece as he did.
"So...somethings on your mind eh? Penny for your thoughts?"

Dana’s eyes flickered over to the boy as he offered a penny for her thoughts after passing the cheese. Choosing some pieces – supposedly cheese was good for the teeth. Dana didn’t have a clue whether it was true or not, but she liked cheese anyway – grinned and tilted her head. “There are many different currencies in the world. In which are you giving the penny? And if so, I want the penny before I reveal my thoughts,” with a sly wink and a mischievous smile Dana placed the cheese-plate back onto the table and looked up as the Great Hall doors opened and closed with a rather loud bang as a group of Slytherins entered.
Rubbing her throbbing head Dana’s eyes fell onto her cousin and she jumped up: “I’ll be back in a second.” Jogging over to the Slytherin table Dana crouched next to her cousin – a fifth year Slytherin – and explained in fluid French what had happened before turning and pulling her head out of the way. Smirking maliciously at some Hufflepuffs who gasped as Dana’s cousin pointed his wand to the back of Dana’s head and muttered the spell. Standing up and sending a grateful smile to her cousin, who had already turned back to his won breakfast, Dana moved back to Ravenclaw table while the first year Hufflepuffs stared at her still. Well, maybe not very many people turned the back of their heads to a Slytherin wand that easily, but Dana didn’t mind.
“Well, now that I’m not thinking of it – I was cursing the head-ache I was starting to get. All good now though,” Dana said with a grin throwing a piece of cheese in her mouth before eyeing the boy, “And you still haven’t introduced yourself, you know.”

Daf watched as Dana grinned. Smiling himself, he listened as she asked which currency she was receiving, and that she wanted it first, then giving Daf a wink.
As a group of Slytherins walked in, Dana jumped up saying she would be back in a minute. Moving towards the Slytherin table, she spoke to one of them. The older Slytherin placed his wand to the back of her head and muttered a word or two. That cant be normal. A Raven and a Slyth? Maybe I should say something
Coming back over to the Ravenclaw table, Dana began to talk again. After eating some cheese, she reminded Daf that he had yet to introduce himself.
"Well, answering your questions in the order you've asked them:British, ok, and Daf."

“Daf,” Dana repeated slowly and tilted her head to the side. It was a rather unusual name. Most probably a nickname not the boys full name, but it still wasn’t a very ordinary name. Then again – Dana liked different and news things, experiences and why not names as well? “Well, keep it in mind that I want payment before I reveal my thoughts,” Dana said calmly smiling at the cheese on her plate before picking up one piece and biting into it. Closing her eyes Dana savored the taste. There was just something about cheese that made you love it. It was just so completely… cheesy.
“Do you know that all cats love cheese?” Dana asked Daf opening her eyes lazily and smiling, “Mice eat cheese. Cats eat mice, ergo cats eat mice and since mice eat cheese – cats eat – and love! – cheese. I love cheese – so does that make me a cat?” Dana’s eyes twinkled as she waited for Daf to answer or react. Dana had found a book on muggle philosophy the other day and being bored and tired this had been the outcome of her own musings. Most people didn’t really know how to react which was amusing. So Dana observed Daf with curiosity to see his reaction.

Daf watched as Dana said his name slowly."Its short for Dafydd"Making sure to say it slowly, resulting as 'Dav-ith', the 'da' as in 'dad', and the 'th' as in 'the'.
Daf reached his hand in his robe and took out a penny, tossing it on the table. "There you go."
Daf listened as Dana went into a theory about cats liking cheese, one that he had to admit he had never heard before. This girl reminds me of me
"Wow, Ive never heard that theory. So your into philosophy eh?"
Daf stood up and leaned over the table to grab a piece of toast. Sitting back down, he put strawberry jam on it and took a bite. Chewing it, he looked at Dana.

Dana looked at the penny Daf placed on the table with amusement before picking it up and stuffing it into the back pocket of her jeans with the legs of them cut off. Dana’s usually dressing way on Saturday morning when she was planning on enjoying herself. “Well, my mind is opened in front of you know,” Dana said amusement and a deep nod towards Daf, “Well, to some extent.” Dana’s eyes twinkled merrily. She was a friendly and a rather easily approachable person, but she almost never revealed more than she wanted.
“That theory? That’s what happens, when I’m hungry and bored at once. A dangerous combination. Otherwise – philosophy is alright. Amusing sometimes. What about yourself?” Dana decided to skip sandwiches anyway and moved onto cheesecake while transfiguring a pitcher of pumpkin juice into black coffee again. It was the first spell she had ever learned. Dana had never liked pumpkin juice and most probably never would.

Looks like we have a philosopher on our handsmused Daf. Finishing off his piece of toast, Daf grabbed for his goblet of orange juice.
"Me, I like music. Playing, to be more precise. I also like having a vast knowledge of whats going on around the world."

“Music? That’s a wide definition. Some special type? Or do you write music or sing yourself? Or are you just a fan? And muggle of wizard music?” Dana asked curiously. She herself couldn’t sing. Dana wasn’t very musically talented in playing any instruments either. It was the next subject that made Dana’s eyes flash though as she looked at Daf with amusement: “You have a vast knowledge of what’s going around the world? What’s going on in Russia? How is the pope right now? How are the rating for English players in Wimbledon?” Dana asked some random questions with a raise of his eye-brows as she took a sip of her coffee.

Daf though over what Dana had just said. "I like alot of styles. Anything that I can play my guitar or drums to really."
Daf laughed as Dana questioned what was going on in certain places, to certain people."Well, lets see now.In Russia we have some talk about child murderers, Pope Benedict XVI is alive and well, and sadly, about Wimbledon...I know little to nothing about tennis."
"What about you? You into anything else?"

“Oy, don’t get off the topic, just as I’m going to get curious! You play guitar and drums? What about singing? Or what music you play? Random songs, something you have written yourself? Come on, I’m curious,” Dana made a face towards Daf and destroyed her cheesecake surprisingly quickly.
“I’m into? Meh, a ton of things. I’m addicted to books, adore dancing and music –but I can’t sing for the life of me nor can I play any instrument – nothing bad about shopping or Quidditch either. I could go on like this for ever or until you’re bored of me, so I’m going to just stop now,” Dana grinned and took some more cheesecake.

Daf laughed as Dana accused him for going off topic. "I tried." Daf scratched the back of his head."Yeah, I play both. Sing a bit too. Not the best though. I like to play allot of punk and rock. Emo and celtic are good too."
Pausing, Dafydd took a swig of his goblet."I sometimes write my own stuff." Daf blushed. His songs weren't something he liked to show, and he was afraid Dana would ask to hear one.
Daf laughed to himself as Dana listed some things she liked to do, making a face when she said shopping."Girls...figures" He stuck his tongue out at Dana.
"And about the being boring part....you haven't even come close to boring me yet."

Dana listened to Daf curiously. She was already about to ask to hear one of Daf’s songs when she noticed him blushing. Well, not all people weren’t as careless as she was, Dana reminded herself and smiled openly. “Well, one day you are going to have show me your stuff. And give me your autograph once you’re some world-famous singer,” Dana mused loudly and grinned as Daf scoffed at the thought of shopping: “Yes, well, I’ll take it as a compliment. At least you noticed that I’m a girl not some ‘boy’.”
“You’re not bored yet? Well, that’s because there’s food here. It’s dividing my attention!” Dana stated while waving her fork to add meaning to her words, “At least the food here is always awesome. I’m one of those persons who lives to eat.” Dana grinned – her friends sometimes laughed that Dana could compete with Crabbe and Goyle on a good day. Luckily it never showed on her figure.

A huge smile spread over Daf's face as Dana said she wanted his autograph when he became big and famous."I'll see what I can do, and Ive definitely noticed your a girl"
As Dana said she was one of those people who like to eat, Daf began to blush again."It certainly doesn't show."
Dafydd looked up as a flock of owls came in carrying the morning mail. Daf waited to see if there were any letters for him. When no owls came, he sighed.
"Do you ever miss home?"

“Luckily, it doesn’t show. Even though quidditch and dancing might help me with that. As well as quick metabolism. Besides I’m a growing child and need my food!” Dana stated waving her fork in the air as if demanding attention, “Never mind the fact I haven’t grown in a year or two.” Dana looked up as the owls received and smiled seeing her own owl as well as Kris’s stopping y her. Pushing the note from Kris’s owl into her pocket, Dana placed the Daily Prophet on the table next to her plate, glancing calmly at the letter that had came with the newspaper.
“Miss home?” Dana let out a short chuckle, “I live in France, meaning I don’t see my home even during weekends or free days. Don’t even go there during holidays, like some other people go. I miss home. And this summer my grand-parents have to work – going to tour Europe because of it, and I’m expected to accompany them part of the way.” Dana’s eyes turned sad as she thought of it. She loved traveling, but sometimes she did miss home. Well, she would get over it. Besides being the new minister of Magic in France, Julian had to travel and work a lot. And Meredith didn’t really have much more free time. Dana shrugged – it was life. And smiled calmly, while taking a bite: “And you? Get home-sick often?”

The sad look on Dana's face made Dafydd sad."Yeah, I do miss home. My family are close, theres only the three of us:me, mum and Killian."
Daf placed his hands in his lap and looked down at them."I was actually writing a letter home, thats what you spilled juice on."
Daf looked up and smiled."Oh well, gained a friend from it."

“Killian. That’s an interesting name,” Dana said with a smile pulling out her wand and muttering a couple of charms. One to drain out the juice form the parchment and the other to restore the letters and words. Grinning as it looked good again Dana put her wand away only to hear a loud and annoyed whistle a moment later. Glancing up Dana saw her cousin standing next to the Great Hall doors and she pulled out the letter she had shoved in her back-pocket earlier. SOpening the note now Dana let her eyes pas over it and grinned.
“Well, it has been fun, but I have to go. Duty calls – or actually practicing for my OWL’s. I’ll see you around,” Dana smiled at Daf, grabbed a piece of toast and hurried out of the Great Hall after her cousin, who had already left.
((Sorry, but I have absolutely NO inspiration for this thread, so I decided to finish it.))
