The year was almost near its close and with the chaos about the school concerning the final Quidditch matches and preparations for departure that many people were neglecting their studies. He did not plan to let such a thing happen to him though. He had always set a personal god of finishing the year just as strong as he had started, and by being only a Quidditch reserve, and by having set his departure plans far in advance, he now had plenty of time to focus on his studies.
He sat on his bead looking over the small library he had collected over his years at Hogwarts. A topic had to be chosen carefully as there was much to consider. What subject was he to have next? Which had the biggest assignment due and when? Then of course, which was the hardest to cover. After great deliberation he finally settled upon History of Magic. He did fairly well in it, as his father always said, history repeats itself, so you better learn up now, but he had been neglecting it lately in order to spend more time on potions.
"History it is." He stated out loud despite the fact he was the only one in the room. He carefully returned the rest of his books to their proper place before making his way to the library, his History book tucked neatly under his arm.

Normally, Jordan was running around- looking for the next joke to pull, but not today. Exams were just around the corner, final papers were due- and Jordan had some things to catch up on. Jordan was a rather studious student, she did well in classes and did her homework to satisfactory standards. She wanted to do as well on her exams as she did on her homework. That would mean lots of studying, and loads of going over her work. Jordan wondered if she could sit still for that long. Even if it was nearly impossible- she must, she wanted to do well.
"Oh, my!" She stammered as she walked up a flight of stairs, books towering in her arms. Her foot tripped on the next step and the books slipped from her arms- flying this way and that. Jordan skinned her knee and winced- "Perfect..." She muttered, standing up and straightening her skirt. She began gathering her books, having to go down a few steps to get to the one that had landed on the bottom.
When she went back up the staircase to get the one that had flown upwards instead of downwards, Jordan was once again swallowed by books. Getting quite annoyed with the fact that she was once again disappearing behind the books, she didn't see the folded rug in front of her. One could only imagine what happened once she got her foot caught in that. The books went flying once again, and Jordan groaned in anger and frustration. She bent down to start picking up her books, watching as people just walked by- "Yeah. Thanks for all your help, it's greatly appreciated."

It wasn't a long walk to the library from the Hufflepuff Common Room, All one had to do was go up the stairs to the main floor, then up the remaining for flights, and there was the library. He enjoyed the trek really, he found it got his blood pumping and settled him in so he was ready to take on the challenge of studying. He was on the third flight of stairs, just reaching the plateau before the next flight when spotting something rather out of place. There seemed to be books and bits of parchment everywhere. He paused, glancing around before picking up the book at his feet. It was the Transfiguration textbook. He pondered a moment before looking over again, this time noticing the wild array of study materials seemed to be accompanied by a student.
"Ah." He said, more to himself than anything. He recognized the girl as a Hufflepuff, fifth year if he was correct, though he had never had much contact with her. They seemed to run in very different circles of the Hufflepuff House. She was always off making trouble, or was barely able to sit in one place long enough to concentrate on anything.
"Jordan? Would you like a bit of help?" He did not wait for an answer instead he leaned over, starting to gather up a few more of the books, his own history text still tucked neatly under his arm.

She was about to give up and use her wand, when someone started helping her gather her books. Jordan looked up and smiled, "Thanks, Ernie. Everyone else was being rude, and just walking by." She picked up the last book and stood, shifting them so she could see. Of course Jordan knew who Ernie was, they had in fact spent five years in the same house, common room, and classes. But just because she knew who he was- that didn't mean she knew him.
"I guess this shows me not to carry more books than I can handle, but I have so much studying to do. Exams around the corner and all. I see you have a textbook as well, were you planning on some studying?" Jordan asked as she continued to juggle the books in her arms. She smiled and tucked some hair behind her ears as she balanced on one foot so her knee could prop some of the books.

Carefully gathered up all the books within his reach, making sure to organize them according to side. After all the stack was much more stable with the widest and heaviest on the bottom. After they were all gathered he straightened, still holding them as he looked over at Jordan again.
"Well, its no problem at all Jordan, after all what are fellow Hufflpuffs for." He nodded as if to verify his statements accuracy, before he answered the other question. "And yes, I too was going to study and get a jump on exams, not that I don't already have a jump on them already. My grades have not dropped a single mark. Anyway, I find I study very well in the library, and I find the walk up so invigorating. Are you heading there as well? If so I could help you carry these up."
