Jack entered Hogwarts with a bag full of fireworks that he was planning to set off somewhere inside the castle to annoy Filch. He would need some help; he wanted to set off the fireworks all at one time, so he would need more than himself to do that task. He walked up the corridorr, peering inside empty classrooms, looking for someone decent to help him. He didn't see anyone for awhile, they all seemed to be outside. He decided to change his plan; he didn't want no one in the castle to see the fireworks. He would set them off right after dinner, everyone would be heading back to there common room, and the corridorr leading out of the Great Hall would be packed with students. Just perfect for Jack. Now, the only problem was that he couldn't find anyone to help him. He didn't feel like sharing his ideas with a Hufflepuff, but as the day wore on, Jack grew more and more weary and desperate. It was going to be dinner soon, and his plan would go into action; unless he couldn't find someone. He was walking down a hallway when he heard someone coming up behind him. He turned sharply to meet the person.

Katrina changed out of her dirty robes into the new robes her mother bought for her from Diagon Alley. She turned around to look at her image on the mirror. The robe suited her perfectly. She combed her hair and finshed it in two ponytails. Satisfied, she went out of the common romm.....alone. She walked down the stairs, humming a little tune to herself, minding her own business and not really looking at where she was going as she didn't expect anyone to be down here so early. She turned lest and walked down the corridor towards the Great Hall. CRASH!! Not noticing where she was going, she had bumped into someone that was taller, bigger and stronger than her. She landed on the floor with a thud. "Ow..." She rubbed where she had fallen and looked up towards the boy he had crashed into. It was a Slytherin. Katrina didn't really liked Slytherins. She thought they were annoying and arrogant. "Excuse me but where are your manners? You see a girl sitting on the floor and you don't help her up? What a gentleman you are!" ((hope you don't mind that a Gryffindor happens to 'crash' into you...but if you do mind, i'd be happy to delete it...and no offence, but that's what Katrina thinks about Slytherins.. ))

((Don't worry about it! I'm glad you joined. Jack sometimes make's things hard...... but he does have a caring side. )) Jack felt someone run into him. He looked at the person who had fallen and saw that it was a girl, younger than him by the looks of it. A Gryffindor too, to make matters worse. Well, Jack had experience with Gryffs, mostly a particularly stubborn one, which had turned out to be his friend. He looked down at the girl who had fallen, without trying to hide his amusement. The thought about manners, Jack laughed. "I would help you up if you were worth helping," Jack said with a smirk on his face. He looked down at the girl, waiting for her to get up on her own.

Katrina jumped up in anger. "Hey!! What do you mean? Are you saying that I'm not worth helping? Just so that you might want to know, I'm a Gryffindor. And Gryffindors are the same as Slytherins. There aren't any different between us. They are both worth helping, you know?" She dusted herself while saying, "And thanks so much for your help!" After all the dust had left her robes, she looked at him from head to toe, and from toe to head, taking in every detail about him, including the bulky side of his robes. "Hey, what's this?" She poked at it and found that it felt like a box that was full of stuff. REALLY full of stuff. She hesitated for a moment, but asked, "Those aren't dung bombs, right?" She wasn't so sure that they were dung bombs, and she WAS curious. She would just have to wait for him to answer her question. ((I am happy that you didn't mind....and sorry 'bout the way that Katrina acts. She just thinks that all Slytherins are arrogant and.....well you get the picture ))

Jack grinned and looked at her. "You heard what I said." He said simply. "That is what I meant." He was happy when the Gryffindor noticed that he was hiding something in his robes. "No, they aren't dung bombs, even though that is a good idea." Jack mused. "They are fireworks. Filibuster's Fireworks. I was hoping to have some fun with them when you ran into me." Jack added dryly. He was hoping the Gryffindor would ask him about helping and he wouldn't have to ask her about helping. But if he had to, he would. Anything to make Filch flip out.
"I'm Jack. Jack Rendel, Slytherin, third year as you have probably noticed." He held out his hand for her to shake, hoping she wasn't some muggle-born.

Beth walked down the elaborate staircase in the Hogwarts castle examining those around her. She look down and saw students of all ages conversing outside the great hall. Dinner was about to start and everyone was waiting anxiously. She reached the bottom floor after parading around the moving staircases, she thought she would never get where she needed to be. As she walked by she saw a gryffindor, her age, fall to the floor and walked over to help her. By the time she reached the girl she had already jumped up and seemed very angry, However, I would be as well seeing that she got up alone even though there was a young man standing right next to her. As she was about to turn away from the two she saw the boy pull out a wad of fireworks and she felt anger swell up inside of her. She walked over to the boy and grabbed a couple of the fireworks from his hand. "Exactly what do you think you are doing, trying to hurt someone I pressume?" She said as her eyes wandered over his uniform and saw the green and silver crest embroided over his chest. She continued to glare at him as she noticed her attempts would most likely not stop the boy because his pockets were still bulging, most likely with more fireworks. She stared the boy down waiting for his repsone, knowing it wasn't even going to come close to satisfying her.

Kathryn ran gracefully down the stairs searching for a Ravenclaw to accompany her to dinner. Her stomach was beginning to grumble and she was anxious for the elequint food. reaching the bottom of the stairs she noticed beth with a couple of other students, all older then her, but beth was her best friend.
Reaching the small group Kathryn greeted her friend and gave a small wave to the others. As she was about to ask beth why she wasn't outside the great hall she noticed the array of fireworks in her friends hands. Kathryn's eyes grew wide and she grabbed a few. "fireworks! Oh! i love the things!" she examined them more closely and continued, "not muggle fireworks either!" she looked up at beth, "mum and dad used to set them off every summer! these are so fun!! how'd you get ahold of 'em! i was sure the weren't allowed in Hogwarts otherwise i would have brought my own!"

Beth glanced over at Kathryn as she walked up. She wasn't at all amused by Kathryn's excitment with the fireworks she held in her hands. She broke her glare from the scrawny slytherin boy and turned to Kathryn, "They're NOT allowed at Hogwarts," she huffed. Beth had always been a stickler for the rules and wasn't about to break them just to see a few good fireworks. She was muggle born and had grown up seeing the dazzling lights, so she was far from amazed by them. She turned away from her friend trying not to take her frustrations out on her and continued to glare at the Slytherin. She despised Slytherins, arrogant and pig-headed. They had never been to found of her either since she was what they usually called "mudblood" It didnt bother her as much as it did other muggle borns, however. Being muggle born only made her more proud that she had made it into the wizarding world. She was born with raw talent, it wasn't just handed to her in a DNA strand. Her eyes continued with their malicious glare as she held the fireworks in her now shaking hand.

Katrina tried to hide her happiness when she looked at the bag of fireworks. It had been quite long since she held one of those and watch the different colors soaring through the sky. She was longing to try and blast some again, but she thought that it might not be so much fun with an arrogant Slytherin. She hesitated a bit, before shaking hands with him. "Katrina or Kat for short. Gryffindor second year." She made a mental note to wash her hands with bleach the moment she got away from him. She was just about to ask him something, when a girl about her age stormed over to them and grabbed his bag of fireworks. From the crest on her robes, it was a Ravenclaw. Katrina tried and tried to calm her down, and with no luck, she sighed, just as another Ravenclaw girl joined them. By the looks of it, the new girl was smaller than them, and a muggle-born too. After hearing her comment, she smiled at her and gave her a you're-100%-right look.
Katrina turned her head sharply when the other Raven girl said that fireworks were not allowed at Hogwarts. She felt disappointed, and added, "What? Really?' Feeling stupid about what she said, she added, "But I'm sure just a little bit wouldn't hurt, unless Jack here was going to use them to annoy someone."

Jack shook Kat's hand stiffly, feeling aggrivated that he had shaken hands with a Gryff. He tried to keep a straight face, even though it was hard not to grimace. He watched as a Raven came over and started telling him off.
"Don't worry, I'm not going to use it on you." Jack said as if he was soothing a baby. "It's for someone else." He was starting to get annoyed when another Raven came over and started getting all excited over the fireworks. I'm in for a long haul.... Jack thought irritably. He listened to the girs without any comments, but he couldn't help adding something about what Kat had said.
"Annoy someone? Not in my wildest dreams!" Jack said with a grin on his face. "Now, I don't have time to talk, I have something to do!"

Katrina looked at the smile on Jack's face and felt a shiver run down her spine. Just looking at it made her felt uneasy. It felt as though he was hiding something from them. "What are you going to do? Put on a fireworks display for us?" She added with a smirk. She was hoping secretly that if Jack was going to use the fireworks, he would bring her along. She shook her head at that thought. But would a Slytherin be nice to a Gryffindor? Hopefully, Yes. Katrina stared to wards the Great Hall, lost in her thoughts.

Jack shook his head. "It's not for you. It's for Filch if you must know." he said quietly, making sure no Filch or Mrs. Norris was around. He looked at the bags of fireworks he had. Eight of them in all, and if all of these people were to help him, they would get two bags each. That is, if they help him. He still had to ask too. How was he going to do that? It was harder than he had thought it would be. He looked at his watch; he still had time. He could stall for a bit and see if they were up to it. After all, they weren't his type and he wasn't sure if he could trust people like them.
"I'm guessing you three haven't done anything to Filch?" Jack asked with an amused smirk on his face; his blue eyes over-bright. "Seeing as you're Gryffindors and Ravens, and people like you don't take any chances..." He looked at them with raised eyebrows.

Katrina turned her gaze to the Slytherin boy. It took a while for her to actually understand what he was talking about. "WHAT?" Her shouting earned her some glares from other people that were around. "Hehe, sorry. I mean what? You are actually going to use those fireworks to annoy Filch?" She shot him a surprised and a confused look, but continued, "I mean is it enough? I know that I haven't done something like this before, but for a person like him....I don't think that some fireworks can annoy him. How about we add in some dungbombs? Oh, it's just that I kinda like dungbombs. They are so cool to play with! It's just so sad that a second year can't go to Hogsmeade! Anyway, so when are you going to start?" Katrina really wanted to see some fireworks display, but deep down in her heart, she knew that annoying Filch would land herself in detention. But she couldn't back out, not now. Not now that she has a chance to play fireworks again. She pushed that thought out of her mind and looked back at him and waited for the answer.

Jack smirked at the girl. He hadn't thought about adding any dungbombs, but that would be even better than just fireworks.
"Maybe," Jack said thoughtfully. "Just maybe..." He looked around and then back down at his watch. Almost time to start. He liked the dungbomb idea, he just wasn't sure where to find any. He had some in the common room, but that would take a while just to run there and back. He sighed.
"So, you're going to help me?" Jack asked with a smirk. "I didn't know Gryffs help Slyths, but if you want to help, that's fine by me." Jack pulled out two bags of fireworks and tossed them to Kat.
"I'm guessing you don't have any dungbombs with you?"

Beth continued to glare at the two as they plotted to actually set the fireworks off, inside the castle none-the-less. "You're not going to set them off," she huffed, "at least not while Im around." She reached over and tried to grab the rest of the bags from the boys hand but frowned when she realized she had only managed to snatch one more. She looked down at the three bags in her hands. 'This is ridiculous' she thought, If a professor found out about this, she was sure they would all have detention for a month, at least. Beth's scowl grew harsher as she heard the Gryffindor girl actually considering helping the boy. "You're not, are you?" she questioned, "This isn't ALLOWED!" A few people looked at her as she raised her voice, then conitnued on their way. She looked back down at the fireworks and then to the three around her. "Well," she sighed... "If we're going to do it, we better hurry." She tried to smile but only manage a weak grin. She knew that she would never live this down. "Don't worry about going to your common rooms," she said reaching for her bag, "I have a few dung bombs with me," she pulled out the round bombs and a jolt of excitement rushed threw her. 'This is so wrong' she told herself quietly trying to keep the look of excitement on her face.

Jack actually gave a true smile towards the Ravenclaw. "I'm glad you considered it." Jack said with a huge grin. He watched with even more excitement as the girl pulled out some dung bombs. This is going to be better than I thought...... Jack thought. An amused grin appeared on his face.
"Well, we'll just have to wait until dinner is over. We'll set the off right when all of the students are milling around." Jack laughed at the thought. It would draw a lot of attention. Mostly Filch's. Jack tried hard not to think about what would happen to them if they were caught. If they were caught. Jack looked at the others.
"So we go in and eat, then come out here a bit earlier than usual and set them off!" Jack couldn't wait. He almost wanted to do it now, but almost everyone was in the Great Hall. He couldn't do it now if he wanted a huge effect. He thought about what he really wanted. He didn't really know; maybe he actually wanted to get into detention. After all, the term was almost over. It wouldn't make much of a difference, would it? He smirked and told the girls:
"Alright, when I leave the Hall I'll put red sparks in the air. That should get your attention."

Beth sighed and pushed a lock of brown hair away from her eyes. "Alright, after dinner," she said cramming the fireworks and dung bombs into her bag. "But that means we all need to leave a few minutes before everyone else so we can set them up and get them to go off just as they are leaving." Beth smiled, her intelligence would most likely help them to not get caught in this matter. She looked over to the excited Slytherin boy and sighed "Don't think this means that I am your friend," she spat. "I'm going to the hall now, let's go Kat," she motioned to her younger friend and then left the scene in a hurry. She knew she wasn't going to be able to eat but she didn't want to hang around with the boy anymore. He made her feel nauseous and uneasy. She walked into the elaborate hall and sat at the table of Ravenclaws, dreading later that night.

Kathryn lingered a moment longer and stared longingly at the fire works. 'Ravenclaw...not slytherin..' she thought to herself. With that she was off with Beth to the great hall. She sat next to her friend at the table and poured herself a glass of pumpkin juice. "C'mon Beth! You're muggle-born! You know how brilliant fireworks are! And Filch is so horrible to everyone, and his cat! I think he deserves a trick played on him now and then for what he puts us through!" She had now filed her pate with several different types of food and began eating, though she knew she would never finish the mound on her plate.

Katrina just smiled at Jack last question. "So, you going to use my idea? I'm glad you liked it. And no, I don't." She said the last part with a scowl on her face. The dungbombs she bought from Diagon Alley were all used and since she couldn't go to Hogsmeade, she didn't have a clue how to get some.
Katrina looked up and saw two bags of fireworks coming her way. It landed on her arms safely and Katrina just looked down at them. She still thought it wasn't a very bright idea but she knew it was worth it. She looked back up at him just in time to hear him say the idea. She nodded, and walked behind the two Raven girls to the Great Hall. She stopped at the Gryffindor table and looked towards Filch and his cat. She felt anger boiling up inside her but she pushed them away with a smirk. An EVIL smirk, one you don't always see on a innocent Gryffindor. Well Filch, you are in for a surprise. A very big surprise....

Jack nodded as the others went into the Great Hall. He was surprised that they were obeying him. The older Raven's comment made Jack's temper rise. Like I would, you filthy.... He bit his tongue and continued into the Hall. It was very crowded and noisy, but none of these things made his mood damper. He looked up at Filch, who was eating rather rapidly, and then down to his own plate. That nasty caretaker would get what he deserves from me...and all those other people that are helping. He thought with a smirk as he filled his plate up with different sorts of food.
He couldn't eat. He picked at his food carelessly, looking down at his watch every five minutes. He didn't want to be late for his prank; he would have to wait a whole day! Jack just couldn't do that! He looked around, most kids were minding there own business and filling there faces. He jumped out of his seat and strutted out of the whole, glaring at people who turned to watch what he was doing. As he walked down the Hall and reached the doors, he set off some red sparks in the air. It caught students and teachers attention, of course. That was what Jack had wanted, he didn't want his helpers to miss the sign.
"Sorry, wand malfunction." He snarled at the nearest student, who backed away from Jack. He walked out of the hall as if nothing had happened. Once outside of the Great Hall, a huge grin erupted on his face as he pulled out bags of fireworks. He started to set up the fireworks. When he was all done, he looked around. Still no sign of the Ravens and the Gryffie. Where were they? Had they missed the sign? Jack started passing, getting very impatient. They had better hurry or the prank would have to wait for tomorrow..... Suddenly, the doors opened, making Jack stop pacing.
