The boy’s foot twitched and Mrs. Norris knew he was just dying to kick her. She feigned confusion as she looked at him for a moment before allowing a glint of malice to sparkle in her eyes. Suddenly before the children had even registered what they saw she was off; racing down the hall to fetch her master. He would be very interested in the pair Mrs. Norris just found; a Gryffindor and Hufflepuff out after curfew. She speed toward a tapestry hanging from the wall and came out the other side in a whole different hallway. That was a secret only she and Argus were aware of; to her knowledge at least. As she raced down the halls Mrs. Norris felt satisfaction knowing the students had fled and were looking for a place to hide at that very moment. It was of no consequence; she and Argus would easily find them.
The students were so predictable. Very few students had ever evaded the pair constantly; and since those red hair look alikes had left the game had almost become too easy. But Mrs. Norris loved it still. Her favourite part had to be seeing Argus so pleased when someone was being punished. The satisfaction in his demeanour made dealing with all these children worth it.
She of course didn’t do it just for him though; oh no. She loved the smell of fear that the students emitted when she was near. The mixture of terror and loathing in their eyes brought her near euphoria.
Finally she came upon her master and rubbed up against his leg. “Meow” she said in that tone they both knew so well; she had found someone. She looked up at him with satisfied eyes before racing off down the hall to where she had come from; knowing he would follow.

“Darn poltergeist, I’ll have you banished one of these days if it’s the last thing I do.” Filch muttered to himself as he erased a blackboard where Peeves had taken the liberty to write obscene words. This wasn’t the only blackboard that was hit tonight. In fact, all the classroom blackboards in this hall had Peeves’s handy work on them, and as always, it was Filch’s job to clean it up. Dumbledore kept denying his request to have the poltergeist expelled from the Hogwarts castle. No matter what Peeves did, no matter how many times Filch had insisted, Dumbledore felt Peeves deserved a chance. The matter with Peeves wasn’t the only thing that Filch and Dumbledore disagreed upon. But the matter of the students discipline was another thing about Dumbledore that drove Filch crazy. Dumbledore had stopped the old punishments. Hanging a student by the wrist from the dungeons for a few hours, giving them a smack or two with a whip. Those were the good days, hardly any disobedience during those days, but nowadays it was a boring detention of, copying lines, or cleaning out classrooms, the worst that could happen to a student was to be sent into the forbidden forest, but they would always be accompanied by a Professor.
Just than he felt a familiar rub against his leg. It was his sweet cat Ms. Norris. “Aahh, yes my sweet, have you found something?” He already knew the answer to that question. Him and Norris had almost a telepathic connection and he knew exactly what she had found. Students were out of bed after curfew. “Lead me to them my sweet.” Filch picked up a nearby lantern he followed Ms. Norris out of the room and into a secret passage. They exited one of the tapestry secrete passages into a empty hallway.
The students had been here. No doubt they had run in fear and searched for a dark hole to hide in. “They cant have gone far, well find them.” Filch walked down the hall, shining the lantern light into dark corners and checking empty classrooms. They were close, he could sense that.

Mrs. Norris practically skipped down the hall she was so excited; Argus was right, they would find them. Her master was looking into nooks and crannies with the lantern as Norris sniffed around trying to find traces like some flee bitten rabid dog. It was true most canine behaviours were rather distasteful, as was the animal itself, but they did have their few advantages. She knew she could best a dog any day of the week and twice on Sundays though… it came through each time she got one of those pestilent children stuck in detention.
Ducking around this way and that, listening for any sound beyond those of Argus Mrs. Norris searched for the children she had trapped earlier; they can't have gotten far. A deep intake of breath was heard, she was sure of it. Norris scampered over to Argus and darted around, circling his ankles purring, urging him to check where she just had been. The time was near; the students would suffer for daring disobey Filch’s rules for them.
The students needed to learn that though they were attending classes there it was not their castle and not their home; they were merely temporary annoyances. It was she and her master who truly looked after the castle, who lived there month after month, year after year, for decades on end. The student changed and yet their attitude was always the same, always pompous little brats who think they can pull anything past her. But not this pair, they had failed and they would suffer the consequences of disobedience.

((Hope you two don't mind me joining this, but this seems just perfect for Jordan. Considering; she is set on trying to make Filch smile out of kindness (don't bash her dream! ) Anyway, if you have a problem with it...tell me and I'll delete it.)) One for me, one for you, one for me, one for you, one for me, one for ME! Muahaha! Jordan thought as she gobbled up some chocolate balls. She was in her dormitory, lying flat on her back, her head over the edge of her bed, and her hair falling towards the floor. She was counting out her chocolate balls and then eating them in a rather hastfully manner. She didn't care. She wanted chocolate, and she wanted it right then and there. Jordan wasn't exactly tired, she was just rather- bored really. She finished off her last chocolate ball and sat up straight. Looking around in the dark dormitory at all her dorm mates. They were sound asleep and Jordan didn't want to disturb them. She stood up off her bed, and pulled her running shoes on over her socks. Her pajama bottoms sagging over the top of her shoes. She giggled, and pulled her hair into a quick pony tail before hopping up and quietly jogging out of the room. It was past curfew. Jordan was aware of this, but she enjoyed running at night. She enjoyed feeling the night air against her face, blowing her hair back, and stinging her eyes. Jordan liked tol listen to the steady beat of her shoes, thrumming against the ground; a steady rhythm that could almost be a song. It was a calming tactic for Jordan, and she used it often. Now, as she ran down the hallways, her breathing at a steady luxury and her muscles warming up and aching with pleasure, she rounded a corner and skidded on her heels. Mr. Filch and Mrs. Norris! Jordan smiled and withdrew a bag of chocolate from her pocket in her pajamas. She wanted to see Filch smile. He was a person who never smiled out of kindness, maybe joy with a sadistic twist but not kindness. Jordan liked to make people smile, and to bring joy to their day...and right now she wanted to make Mr. Filch smile. Though, she doubted she would. They seemed to be looking for someone, out past curfew no doubt. And Jordan wondered if she should risk something for this. Yeah! She thought excitedly. Jordan stood on her tippy toes and in an annunciated voice, but still quiet so not to wake anyone, "MR. FILCH! MRS. NORRIS!"

Filch could feel his excitment rising. The kids were close. Very close. The hiding places were running extremely thin and he made sure not to miss a single one. He wouldn't allow these kids to get away. Oh it would be detention for all. How he loved filling out those slips and sending them off to the respective professor of the house. Sadly though that was now the extend of his pleasure. Professor Fostner now controlled detention. The only time Filch was put in charge now was if the students were sentance to clean up part of the castle.
He looked down at Ms. Norris, who was Vigorously helping him and encouraging him in his search. "Don't give up now my sweet. We almost have them. They are no more hiding places left." He was just about to open the door to another classroom when someone yelled behind him. He jumped at the sound and whirled around and shone the lantern in the direction of the voice. The light shone on a girl, one of the students. Her dress showed her to be a hufflepuff, and she looked to be a 5th year.
Filch could tell at a glance that she was not part of the group he was chasing, but she was out of bed after curfew. The sight of her stepping out so boldly and drawing his attention startled him so much he couldnt seem to find his voice for a moment. He recovered quickly and sneered at her, shining the light in her eyes. "What are you doing out of bed? Students aren't allowed out of bed at this time. You should know this by now." He quickly scanned her and spotted the bag in her hand. It looked like a simple bag of chocolates, but you could never be so sure, not after some of those stunts that the Weasley twins pulled.
Filch approached the girl. "What is your name? And whats that you got in your hand?" He held out his free hand. "Give it here." He commanded. A 5th year would know full well the penalties of being out beyond curfew, so they would only go out if they had something planned, and he was going to find out what this girl was up to.
