Lina gradually made her way towards the end of the library. She glanced here and there, searching the eyes and faces of the students, wondering if she could remember at least one of them from her classes, unfortunately she couldn't. She continued to make her way towards the brown oak wood table and matching chairs, and finally tossed her books onto the table. The sound it made when it made contact with the thick wood caused some heads to rise, but seeing that it was nothing, forced them back down. Lina dropped herself into the chair carefully, and lay her head on the table. It was hard, being a transfer student in the middle of the year. Not only were friendship circles already formed, but Lina would also have to catch up on her studies that way she could be on the same page with everyother third year here. Her dark brown hair sprawled across the table and over her smooth fingers. With her head down, Lina began to move her hand forward, feeling around for one of her books. Finally, when she felt it was the right one, she pulled it towards herself and opened it under her nose. The silent whispers of neighboring students and the slight swish of the turning page of a book meant with her ears as she looked down at the many words that met her eyes. It had finally occured to her that she was in complete fatigue. The world around her began to fade away, and soon only the slight flickering of a flame was visible in her minds eye.

He had been asleep. He had been sleeping soundly and dreaming nicely. He had been comfortable. And then he fell out of bed. Fourteen years old and he was still falling out of the bed. Hell, at least he wasn’t wetting it anymore right? That’s something to be happy and thankful for right? But he’d give anything to stop falling out of the bed.
With the loud thud breaking the silence and the long angry groan that had followed it, one might find it funny that most of the other boys in the room hadn’t even stirred. They were used to the frequent sound that happened nearly once or twice a week since the first year they’d shared a dormitory room.
Now Raine was trudging down the stairs as he sometimes did after one of these occurrences, one hand up rubbing the back of his head where he’d hit it on the night stand while he fell. He wore the school issued pajama bottoms but no the issued shirt. Instead, he’d searched around in the darkness and pulled on the first shirt he found, in this case, it happened to be one with the letters written upside-down ‘if you can read this your eyeballs are upside-down’. His brown locks were all askew, looking as if he hadn't brushed his hair in days, and brown eyes were muddled with sleep, the lids half closed, and dark circles
The common room was dimly litted, candles were the only source of light. He looked around the room, completely deserted. But that was no surprise, since it was in the middle of the night. However, middle of the night or not, Raine was wide awake, and he couldn't stand being in the common room. He was a restless spirit, and being stuck in the common room with nothing to do was not satisfying his needs.
Slowly, and cautiously, he moved swiftly out of the common room, careful not make a sound. The corridors were eerily deserted, not a soul in sight. Raine smiled mischievously -this could be fun-.
"Lumos..." He muttered, and a soft glow emitted from the tip of his wand. He continued to walk, racking his brain with something he could do. He walked passed the library, not giving a second glance, untill something caught his attention. He slowed down, and peered though the stainglass...There seemed to be a student in there.
"Ah.." Raine said aloud, a grin spreading across his face.
He slowly crept into the Library, being extremely stealthy. It seemed as though it was a girl that had fallen asleep. Raine stifled a laugh, the situation was quite funny.
Raine crept up to her side, and cupped his hands around her ears, "Top of the mornin' to ya!!!!" Raine shouted, causing quite a stir.

'Have homework... must do homework...' Lina continued to think to herself as her mind began to shut down. She figured that she would rest for just a few minutes then wake up refreshed, and ready to hit the books. Her dark brown eyes blinked once towards the illuminated candle before her, and finally closed. Lina actually wasn't one to fall asleep before finishing work, or let things get out of hand like this, but these things were bound to happen. She needed a little rest, and maybe she would find something fun to do tomorrow night, she'd spent her two years in her last school venturing the halls. What secrets would hogwarts reveal to her.
A smile appeared across her face as she fell into a deep abyss, students around her began to make their way out of the library weary eyed, and happy to be on their way. As each student left their table, the candles on them blinked out, soon leaving the library in complete darkness. Lina was unaware of this, and now only her candle stood illuminated in the room.
The young man who had chosen to sneak up on her, obviously had an easy target, for at the moment, Lina was a sound sleeper, lost in an eternal land of "what if" thoughts.
So when his shrill voice filled her head, she was instantly forced off her chair. As she fell over, the chair topples over her, followed by the book that she was clutching in her hand. Dazed, Lina rubbed her head which had head the leg of the chair when she fell.
Lina blinked continuously as she tried to decipher what had jsut happened. Then finally, when her vision was no longer blurred, the first thing she saw was Raine's face.
Lina's temper rised, but she wouldn't allow this boy to get the best of her. Pushing the chair of herself, she stood up, and stared at him angrily, "What the bloody hell is you're problem?!" She said as she stared at him intently. She noticed that he was in pajamas, and her eyes widened, "verdammen Sie es!" She muttered under her breathe in german. She pushed Raine out of the way, and rushed to the clock, the time was 10:58 PM.
Her eyes widened in terror as she discovered what she had just done, "dummes, dummes dummes ich" She continued to mutter in german as she brushed past Raine. Suddenly, she stopped, and stared at him cautiously, "Wait a second... What are you doing... here... this late?" She said, her arms crossed over her chest.

She woke up with a start. I can't believe I still have nightmares, Bee thought as she ran her hand through her blonde hair. Her dead mother always haunted her dreams, which made her scared to even day-dream. She had to get over this. Quietly, Bee got out of bed; careful not to wake her fellow Gryffindor girls. She looked around at all the sleeping figures in the darkness. A sudden thump made made her look down. "Silly Max," she said, scolding her little black kitten, whose green eyes stared up at Bee, in that inocent way that made her unable to punish him. "Dont worry Max, I will bring you along," she whispered to him as he jumped off her bed. She smiled in the dark. Max always made her feel better. She decided to go to the library to study, since that place would be quiet and peaceful. It's not like anyone goes to the library at night anyway, Bee reminded herself. "Except of course, me and you," she said to Max as she put on her muggle to shirt that said: AC/DC Back in Black. That was her favorite band in the world! She walked down to the common room, Max in her arms. He never clawed at her. She went through the portrait. Everything was so quiet and still. She loved it out here, no one to bother her or question her. She walked swiftly, Max bobing around in her arms. He mewed and looked up at her; Bee had almost passed the library. "Thanks," she whispered to Max, who she could barely see. He was a pitch black color and her usually couldn't be seen in the dark, except for his peircing green eyes that were alot like Bees' own eyes. She walked in the library and looked around for a place to sit. She almost screamed. There were people here. She didn't know who they were. They were moving around quickly, so Bee couldn't tell if they were students or proffesers. She crouched down, Max crawling along beside her. She was looking down at Max when she ran into someones' leg. Using her great reflexes, she whipped her wand out and pointed it at the person. It took a while for Bee to realize it was a student. A girl in fact, that seemed to be in her own house and year. Max was down on the ground hissing at this poor girl that didn't have a clue what was going on. Bee couldn't remember this girls' name at the moment. She knew that she had seen this girl somewhere. Suddenly, Bee noticed there was a boy here too. An older boy. She put down her wand and picked up the hissing Max. This scene would have looked funny, Bee holding a hissing black cat, while two students were watching her. "I...er....sorry about all that. Me and Max thought you two were.....er....maybe Filch or something. So....erm....sorry about all this." Bee said in a fairly calm voice. She put her hand over Maxs' little mouth to make him stop hissing. He did and she held him tightly, just in case he would jump down and scare these two. "I am really sorry." She said again and she truely meant it. She had probably scared these two and she wanted to make sure they didn't think she was some freak or something.

Lina continued to stare at Raine intently when suddenly a small sound caught her nose. It sounded very much like a cat's meow, had Mrs Norris spotted them? Would they get in trouble? Would he Filch believe that she had mistakenly fallen asleep?
"Wait.. don't answer that..." Lina said cautiously to Raine as she quietly picked up her books and placed them into a pocket of her silk robe. She beckoned Raine to follow her, and quietly, she made her way with light footsteps around the table, and towards a book shelf. Perhaps they could hide there until the person passed, then run out of there like heck. Of course not as drastic as to arouse suspicion.
Suddenly, Lina felt something bump into her leg, and by instinct, she thrust her want out, "Lumos" She muttered as light filled the tip of the wand and exposed whatever had bumped into her. A small black cat hissed at Lina harshly upon the light, and stared at her with warning eyes. Lina averted her gaze from it, and looked upon the girl.
She was no doubt from her common room Lina thought, and most likely in the same year as she was. Somehow, Lina saw that as a good thing. Her heartbeat returned to normal, and the hissing cat was silenced by the girl when she lifted it up and held her hand over the animal's face.
Lina exthinguised her wand, and placed it back into her robe. She listened as the girl stammered an apology. Lina waved her hand, and said, "Don't worry yourself... you've certainly introduced yourself better than this fellow." She said in a cross tone as she pointed her finger towards Raine.
"Is it normal to visit the library this late at night?" Lina said feeling out of place in her school uniform while the other two had their pajamas on them.

She listened to the girl talk to her. She sounded like she wasn't mad, which was a relief to Bee, but she didn't sound excactly happy either. Of course, why would she be happy, if some strange girl and her cat had run into her leg in the dark. Bee looked up at the clock as she listened to the girl. It was 11:05 P.M. and that made her feel a little scared. Just a little. You could get caught easily with more people than with just yourself, but she welcomed some people here. Maybe, just maybe, they could become friends. Maybe. She heard the girl ask if it was normal to visit the library this late and she answered with a smile: "Well, I have never met anyone else in here. It was usually just me and Max. I..er..sometimes have a hard time getting to sleep , if you know what I mean." She realized that she had almost told this girl and boy about her nightmares. She didn't even know there names. After a short pause, Bee added. "You all know Max now, but I don't think we have ever really talked before. My name is Bridget, Bee for short. " She waited a second and then asked, "What's your names?"

"Ah girl from the common room." Lina said with a smile as she pointed her finger towards Bee in an understanding tone. "Lina." She said simply as she walked past Bee, and peered over the side of the bookshelf. There was no one in sight, that meant that they still hadn't been detected yet. Not that she was looking forward to being spotted. Gryffindor were way behind in the house points and they couldn't afford to lose anymore points.
Lina turned back to Bee and Raine, and waited for Raine to introduce himself. It occured to her that she didn't know who he was either. He certainly wasn't familiar in any way to her. She leaned against the shelf, awaiting Raine's introduction.

Bee smiled at Lina. Lena was one of her friends back at home. "Yeah, I am usually in the common room. Are you new? I don't think I saw you at the begginning of the year." She addressed all this to Lina but she was still waiting for the boys' response. She had no idea who he was. It looked like he was about a year older than her, but she wasn't sure. Max had just jumped lightly out of her arms, and now he was walking down the aisles in the library. It was as if he was looking for something. Maybe he smelled something, Bee thought as she watched Max disapper in the darkness. She wasn't worried about him. He could protect himself. She looked at the boy, excpecting an answer soon.

Apparently this girl was not in a state of joking. Raine smiled mischievously, just the way he liked his prey-not in the mood.
Raine was about to answer, but the girl motioned him to be quiet. He quickly snapped his mouth shut, and gripped his wand tightly, peering into the darkness. He was certain that he had not been followed on his way to the library. However, dread flowed through his veins. But no sooner had the dread come, did it leave, for the source of his worry was nothing but a mere cat.
He let out a sigh of relief,"Whooo..."
No sooner had the cat crossed their path, did another join their company. "And I thought I was the only one that came to the library in the dead of the night." He said, a grin spreading across his face.
He gave a bow,"Raine Maida my dear ladies. Third year, Ravenclaw."
He smiled, his brown eyes twinkling,"And might I say, isn't it a bit late for the two of you. After all, young girls such as yourselves should not be wandering about in the middle of the night. People these days are...Dangerous."

Lina crossed her arms over her chest as the cat walked off down the aisle, was that a sign? Did he possibly sense something that they couldn't. Animals always did have a sixth sense, or rather heighten senses compared to humans. Possibly it was a sign that someone was coming, or possibly Lina was being paranoid once again. She stared back at Bee, and thought over her questions, "Let's see I just got here from Germany two days ago so that would explain it." She said quietly as she waited for something from the cat, or at least for it to come back.
Lina stifled a laugh at Raine's final words, it was funny he said dangerous more like careless to her, "I pressume you're talking about people like yourself... or rather you're trying to scare us. And I fell asleep here as you have no doubt pressumed. " She said with a grin. Her deep brown eyes stared at him intently as she studied him, who was this guy anyway that thought it was fun to scare the living hell out of people. Of course, Lina was a bit of a prankster herself, but she perferred going for extreme things.
She was a bit tempermental at the moment, but she would let Raine's acts silde just this one time, it was just a little joke, besides it was good that he had awoken her, or else she would have been down here all night.
Lina clasped her hands together to grasp both of their attention. "Ok... we've got to get out of here- without being caught." She said, hoping it would be easier since these two had gotten down here quite easily.

Bee was listening to Raine say something when she thought she heard a muffled sound. She looked up, startled, but apparently, the other two hadn't heard it. Now Lina was talking, but Bee wasn't listening. Where was Max? She had always trusted Max to come back right away and he always did. Except for now. What was wrong. She started to shift which foot to stand on, getting worried. When Lina said ".....without getting caught.....Bee was sure she had heard something this time. It sounded like scratching and mewing. Was it Mrs. Norris or her Max? She had to find out, but this time, she would have to be dead silent and not run into anyones' leg. "Listen, did you hear anything?" She asked urgently in a whisper. She wanted to make sure she wasn't the only one hearing strange sounds.

Lina wished she had a better understanding of the halls of hogwarts. Back at Magie und Zauberei, she was known for her knowledge of the secret passageways and hallways that even the teachers didn't know of. But now, it would be a bit more complicated and this situation would call for a different leader. Raine should be a fine leader, he did seem like quite the jokester, usually they knew about the hallways and passages. Bee would also count as significant since she was here longer, plus had a cat which meant there was a chance that he could tell whether or not something was coming.
Then it had occured to her that the small black cat that Bee owned had still not returned. Was it possible that he had left the vicinity? Lina looked down at Bee who had a disturbed look on her face, no doubt it was about the cat.
"Where-" Lina began, about to question Bee about Max, but was abruptly silenced by her words.
'Did you hear anything?' Was what she heard Bee whisper, Lina stood quiet for a moment and indeed hear a scratching. It was as if something got stuck somewhere and was trying to claw it's way out, or perhaps a cat was simply using something as their scratching post. Lina stared down at Bee to see what she thought of this, but could not read anything on her face.
"I hear it..." Lina whispered as she once again peered over the edge of the bookshelf, "But what the bloody hell is it? If that's your cat then either he's in trouble or just causing trouble." She muttered as she stared back down at Bee. The look on her face showed Lina that her cat would probably never do something like that, considering the situation.
There had to be a way that they could check out who it was without being noticed. Lina looked up towards the ceiling, the bookshelves towered up towards it but it didn't make contact with the ceiling. Could one of them climb up there, and make their way towards the sound from atop, or should they all just make their way towards the sound. Either way there had to be great precautions taken. Lina breathed in deeply as she stared back at Raine and Bee waiting to see what they made out of it.

She had never felt this confused in her life. Max, was gone and he hadn't come back very quickly. Now, he was either causing a ruckus or was in trouble. Max would never cause an uprising; he had been taught better than that. She looked at Lina, who said she had heard it too. Then, Bee heard something that made her blood freeze. Someone was sniggering. They were laughing as if something was very funny and she heard the clawing increase. She was almost sure Max was in trouble and that someone had him trapped or something. If Filch......no Bee told herself. He is not here right now. She heard a mew that was diffenently not Maxs'. Something here was very wrong. Bee looked at Lina and saw her looking up at the bookshelves. There was some space in between the ceiling and shelves and it appeared that Lina was thinking the same thing. Lina looked at her as if to see what she should do. Max was in trouble........she had to go see what was wrong.
"I have to go see what's wrong. I just don't know how....." Bee murmmered. She HATED herself at the moment because she couldn't think of a desicion. She looked at Raine and Lina, wondering what to do.

Lina felt the tension rise in the room, were some idiots harming some poor cat? But that would be a good thing wouldn't it, that meant it wasn't a teacher but just students so it wouldn't be as bad as she half expected. Raine still had not said anything, or perhaps he was focused on listening to the sound that appeared to be coming from across the library.
Lina raised her fingers, and leaned back on the book shelf as she began to rub her temples. There was something wrong here, Bee's face proved that, and they couldn't just leave with whatever was in the distance. She opened her eyes and studied the area they were in.
The three of them were located in the farthest area of the library, right near the forbidden section, currently, they faced towards the exit, and if they turned around, they would be facing the back of the library. The whole climbing on bookshelves seemed a bit too absurb, so plan B was the definite choice.
"Ok... we can either get one of us to climb the shelves... which I doubt is safe." Lina began, looking back at Raine, then towards Bee, "Or we could work our way towards whatever is going on through the back of the bookshelves." She finished, breathing is deeply as the plan turned over in her head.
"Course we'd have to be careful, space is limited between the side of the shelves so only at least two of us can stand together without the other sticking out... and we've also got to stay calm and not try to freak out... we really don't know what we're dealing with." She finished again, looking from Raine to Bee waiting for another idea from them, a possibly better idea.

She smiled at Lina. She had two good ideas, but Bee didn't know if they would work really well or not . The climbing the bookshelves, would not only be difficult, but it would also be dangerous. The other idea, hiding in the bookshelves was a very interesting plan, and it might work, if there had only been two people. So, both the plans were great ideas, but Bee was almost positive they wouldn't work very well. She thought hard and long, staring into space. "We could split up. I mean, that's not the greatest plan but that is the only thing I can think of. We could all split up, gather around the noise makers and then we could give them a surprise if it's students; which it sounds like it is. So....that's my plan. It's not the greatest but it could work........" She was repeating herself. She had never been like this before. She was so nervous that she was tapping her foot. She made herself stop and then looked at the other two. We need a plan, she thought desperatly. And soon!

Lina turned the idea over and over and over in her head. So far it was the best they had. The only thing they would have to worry about were the million of consequences that dampened the area. It was a good thing that the three of them were third years, they knew enough spells to defend themselves if needed.
"Ok... we're splitting up..." Lina said. It had occured to her that she could have just left the area for herself, but she was decent enough to help Bee. Guess she was really here for the thrill. Lina signalled the two pointing her finger into three different directions. She pointed towards the left, then right, then forward. She nodded, and began to walk forward with extremely careful footsteps.
The two that she once paired with, was no longer at her side, and now Lina was alone. She sucked in her confidence, and strode towards the sound which began to grow louder and louder. The meowing began to grow more desperate as well as the scratching. That meant that she was getting closer.
There was a stifled laugther that brought Lina to a stop, she was really close this time. She paused, and leaned against the side of the bookshelf. "3...2...1... " She whispered to herself then finally, she placed her hands on the bookshelf, and peered over the edge.

Bee went to the left and fast. The noises were getting louder. She inched forward until she thought she was right there near whoever was doing this. She was standing behind a bookcase, and they noises seemed to be coming from in front of the bookcase. She inched her way towards the side of the bookcase, and then, put her head out, so that she could see what was happening. What she saw, made her feel sick. She jumped back and leaned against the bookcase for support. How could.......they....do....got to .....go and do something.......help.....Max...... She couldn't think straight. She thought she was going to throw up. Her Max was in a small, see-through box and he was trapped. Slytherins were gathered around him, laughing at him. Bee had seen Slytherins get nasty, but this was by far the worst. She tried not to listen as she heard the laughter grow even louder, as Max attempts to break free. ...How....could they....Slytherins.....Max...No......... Bee felt so helpless. These Slytherins looked like they were in seventh year. She was like a midget to them. What could she do. Bee sat there, breathing in deeply. Her mind was malfunctioning, so she couldn't think straight. She remembered a time when her mother had told Bee something she never forgot. It was the last her mom had said to her before she had died. "When thy mind fails, follow thy heart...." Bee hadn't understood what it had meant at first, but know it's meaning was clear. Her mind had failed her, so she had to follow her heart. Bee stood up and tried to think of how to lure the Slytherins away. She would have to get back to Lina and Raine, to tell them what she had saw, and what to do about it. As she walked back towards the place she had met Lina and Raine, two words came to her mind; diversion and revenge.

Lina scowled at the sight of the boys that had trapped poor Max within a see through box. Occasionally, they would put another on top of the box and laugh out loud as they watch the top of the box lower itself upon Max. She spotted Lina's head on the other side of the bookcase, then it disappeared. Lina turned, and watched Bee walk down the aisle back towards the end of the forbiddon section. Apparently she wanted to take these blokes on, but not on her own. Lina released the breathe that she had been holding, it was a good thing that Bee was retreating, because Lina was seconds away from jumping out and using her sharp tongue against these blokes.
Quickly, she peered around the corner again, and then slid back and strode towards the back of the room. As she walked, she twirled her wand in her hand thinking of a spell that she could use against the boys.
"I can't attack them... that'll get me in too much trouble. But I can distract them... or at least scare them off." She said to herself as she rounded the corner, and met with the other two. Bee stood there with an angered expression. She definitely wanted revenge on these boys.
Lina chose the time to speak, her dark brown eyes darted from Raine to Bee as she spoke, "I'm sure we all know some good spells to get them, but does anyone have any good ideas?" She asked, holding hers in until the others expressed their opinions.

Lina and Raine were walking back to the place Bee was heading for. She guessed they had seen the sight of the Slytherins cruelty to Max. She listened to Lina ask if anyone had any ideas. Bee had one, but it was dangerous. She decided to speak her mind and see if anyone had an objection to it. "I have a thought. We could make a sound of some sort, and that would lure the Slytherins away from Max, and then we could go get Max. " She thought for a second and then added, " You two really don't need to help me if you want.....This could turn out wrong and we could get in trouble, or hurt. I appreciate everything you two have done, but I can understand if you don't want to go through with this......." Her green eyes looked at the two other brown eyes. This could be dangerous and she didn't want anyone to get hurt. She didn't want these two to go, but if they did, Bee could do this herself.

Lina chuckled towards Bee's comment. She didn't believe that now would be a best time to back out. It seemed pretty ignorant to do so, after seeing all these things, backing out was a cowardly thing to do at the moment. She smiled brightly towards Bee, and said, "Feh... we got into thiss fickle, we'll get out of it." She said with a shrug as she considered Bee's idea.
She decided that now was the best time to add to Bee's ideas. "I was thinking we distract them with a spell. I know the Pousikus spell." Lina said as she gripped her wand. "Perhaps moving an object towards the group should scare them enough, then we get Max and get out of here." She said quickly as she noted the sounds that began to grow louder from the other side of the library.
