Cassandra poked her head around the corner looking to see if anyone was coming. It was probably about ten at night, but the growling in her stomach was too much to bear. She hadn't eaten much at dinner that night since she had gotten there late. Since taking lessons with McGonogall, she hadn't had much time for anything. The professor was right, becoming an animagi was more complicated than it seemed. After spending hours trying to figure out one very confusing theory, Cass had to shut the book close in exasperation. She felt like she was getting nowhere fast, but that was going to keep her from trying.
Deciding that the coast was clear, she padded down the hallways, her slippered feet making no noise as she found the picture of the giant pear. Hoping not to garner any attention, she tickled the pear, just like Dana had shown her, and it began to giggle. Horrified that it could make such a racket, she shushed the portrait. Too late, she heard footsteps coming towards. With no time to hide, Cass stood there frozen to the spot, secretely wondering how many points she was going to lose for Gryffindor this time.

Caiest tossed and turned but to avail could she get back to sleep. Deciding it was useless to even stay there she got up from her bed and tiptoed over to her chest where she kept her clothes. She slipped on a pair of well worn jeans an oversized hoodie before slipping out of the dorm without a sound. Once in the common room she breathed a sigh of relief. Being quiet wasn't very necessary in the common room. Unless you somehow managed to do something major to make noise like knock over a bookshelf no one could hear you from the dorms.
Slipping out of the common room Caiest began to wander making sure that she kept to the shadows in case Filch or his drated cat decided to come snooping. Caiest wasn't worried though keeping quiet and out of sight was something she was good at. After all you can't go two years in a place like Hogwarts with no friends unless you were good at playing invisible. As she wandered she decided that it would be a good thing to get food so she headed that way. Almost there she heard the giggling of the pear signifying that someone was already there. Still careful to keep to the shadows she made her way closer only to see that it was her friend Cassandra. She breathed a sigh of relief. She had been sure it was going to be someone she didn't care for such as Pyro or Filch. Stepping into the light she said. "Well you're becoming a regular rule breaker now aren't you."

Cass turned quickly as the door appeared in front of her. " OH, Caiest, I'm so glad its you. I'd hate to be caught again." She smiled warmly as she turned around to open the door. " Rule breaker? Me? No."
The smells of the kitchen overcame her senses as she motioned her friend to come in with her. " I guess the romp in the Forest has spread around the school by now. Oh you know me, Slytherins and me always mean bad news. See, I'm safe now. Your definetly not a Slytherin."
As she walked in, several house elves began to make there presence known. Offering their services, she requested a cup of tea and some cookies. Within a few moments, the elves brought her a pot of tea and several plates of cookies. After handing Caiest a cup of tea, she poured herself one. " Speaking of rule breaking, what are you doing out so late at night? Practicing? By the way, I love that sword you gave me, it fits me well. Pyro was so jealous. You should of seen his jaw drop when I showed it to him."

Caiest smiled and entered the kitchen. She was glad that Cassandra was okay with her joining her. As much as she didn't like socializing Dana and Cassandra were pretty much the exception to that rule. She grimaced as Cassandra mentioned Slytherins. Caiest was having problems with that lot lately she hadn't told anyone what Pyro had done. "Nope definatley not Slytherin."
Caiest accepted the tea that Cassandra had given her. Caiest never really liked tea for some reason she just didn't like the taste but she'd drink it to be polite. After all after she finished it she could always go get another drink. Caiest took a cookie from a plate the house elves had brought and hopped up on a counter sitting so that her legs dangled over the side. She had just taken a bite when Cassandra asked her what she was doing out so late. "Couldn't sleep." Caiest said shrugging. Her expression turned dark when she mentioned practicing and Pyro. "No I wasn't practicing I don't do so much of that anymore not since Pyro did what he did. Did he tell you what he did or is he too cowardly to actually admit to doing it?"

Cass sipped on the tea and nearly spit it out when Caiest reacted so angrily. " Why what did he do? Doesn't surprise me. I'm apparently the only person outside his house he treats decently?"
Asking for one of the house elves to bring her a soda, he scampered away excitedly, only returning a few moments later with a canned drink. Cass waited patiently for her friend's answer.

Caiest sighed and rubbed her head. She really didn't want to have to tell anyone what had happened. Especially since she was partially to blame. She turned to the nearest house elf and ordered him to get her a soda as well. "See it's like this. Once I used Sennie to get to one of my classes as I was too tired to attend myself. I made the mistake of thinking Pyro was a friend and I told him about Sennie. Well apparently he told a group of his friends who decided to get pictures of Sennie in the classroom. They told Pyro to get me and he did. He delivered me to that bunch and they blackmailed me. I now have to find a way to get a book of illegal spells from my parents so that I don't get expelled. I thought Pyro was a friend and he stabbed me in the back so I'm sorry if I don't like him or Slytherins much." She said taking the soda from the House elf who had just returned.

Cass' jaw began to lower and lower as Caiest told her story. After Caiest had finished, Cass stared in utter disbelief. " You are joking, right? But,.....your not!" Cass couldn't believe that Pyro would stoop that low. Yes, she did know he was a Slytherin, but this was low for even him.
She stared at her friend, and then she finally made up her mind. " So, you have to get a book of illegal spells. Well, how hard can that be?" She took another sip of tea. " Where do your parents live? We've got to start planning this."
She looked at her friend, " Mr. Whatshisface and his Slytherin cronies are not going to get away with this. Trust, me I will handle Pyro."

Caiest set the soda down. While she was grateful that Cassandra was as upset at Pyro as she was for what he had done she hadn't intended to get another person involved. If she failed to get the book of spells and the Slytherins decided to do something about it Cassandra could end up getting hurt as well. Caiest drew her knees up to her chest trying to think. Should she tell Cassandra not to worry about it or let her try and help.
"My parents are in Romania right now and they'll be heading to Russia shortly after. Getting ahold of them isn't the problem really it's the telling them why I need the book. I can't exactly say 'Hey Mom Dad I need you to send me this book of really illegal spells because if you don't I'll get expelled from school because of something stupid I've done.' They won't go for it and they'll take Sennie away. Aside from you and possibly Dana she's the only friend I've got. As for this whole mess I'd rather you didn't get involved I'd hate for the Slytherins to blackmail you or worse because you're trying to help me." Caiest said picking up the soda and taking a sip. "Why don't you just forget I've said anything I think I can get it on my own."

Cass pursed her lips feeling that the subject was over between the two of them. She wasn't going to push the subject with her friend, but she wasn't going to take it sitting down. She was going to get that book, and show those Slytherin's who was boss. Pyro was not going to boss her friends around just because he thought they were better than them!
She looked up at Caiest with a forced smile. Cass had never been so angry in her life, but that was no reason the evening. " You said your parents were artifact hunters, right? That would seem fun. You know, going to go around the world, seeing new places. I've always wanted to travel, but my family has never really had the money. I've always wanted to go to Egypt."

Caiest was extremely grateful that Cassandra let the matter drop. It wasn't that she didn't want the help because truthfully she could use all the help she could get. It was that Cassandra was her only friend and endangering her friend was not something she was going to allow to happen. It wasn't often that Caiest tolerated someone enough to call them a friend but when it happened she protected them fiercely.
Caiest finished her soda and threw it at the nearest trash can making the basket. "Yeah my parents are artifact hunters and it's a cool job if you don't like being in one place to often." She said rather bitterly. Caiest always hated revealing to people what her parents did. Everyone thought it was so cool getting to travel around the world. They didn't seem to realize however that Caiest didn't go with them. So while her parents were off touring the globe Caiest was left behind to raise herself. Not that she was complaining she hated her parents had never liked them and on the rare occasions they were around she'd usually shut herself in her room or go off somewhere to be alone. It was just that it was kind of lonely being left alone all the time and no one seemed to get that. She forced a smile trying not to let her thoughts show. "The cool thing about it for me anyway is the stuff they send back. Take Sennie for example they sent me her from Egypt and I should be getting a dragons tooth necklace from them after they find what they're after in Romania."
