Kris went up the stair-case taking two steps at a time in a half-jog. It was 7 floors to go up before Kris came to a trap-door, but Kris wasn’t really even breathing hard once he reached his destination. Pushing open the trap-door Kris climbed to the roof of a tower. Throwing his cloak on the grown as his black sweater would be enough protection against the wind. Settling down with his back against a part of the wall, Kris enjoyed the feel of fresh air and the view. The tower wasn’t exactly out of bounds to students, as a lot of them usually did their Astronomy homework here. Even though Kris was alone right now. The closest people in view were some kids at the lake and a quidditch team practicing on the quidditch pitch.
Kris smiled as his owl flew to him and perched itself on his shoulder: “Missed me?”
The eagle-owl hooted and nibbled Kris’s ear affectionally as Kris strummed a tune while singing almost absent-mindedly: “When you close you're eyes tonight, think of what we had Don't feel sadness, don't feel shame, cause' we had true romance Oh, we had it all, love so bright, like a diamond in the sky Before you sleep, and dreams unfold, buried in your mind
Think about the night I held you in my arms And think about the fire That burned inside our hearts Just think about the night
I kissed a tear from you're eyes, I held you close to me You whispered: "This is not goodbye, I'll come back wait and see." We have it all, we have our dreams, we have the heavens up above Before you sleep, and dreams unfold, think about our love
Think about the night I held you in my arms And think about the fire That burned inside our hearts Think about the night I held you in my arms Think about the fire That burned inside our hearts Think about the night Think about the night Think about the night Think about the night.”
The owl hooted softly as the door to the tower-top opened once again. Wondering who would come here at this time, Kris turned his head and waited patiently to see who had came here, as the higher part of wall Kris was leaning on hid the new-comer from his view.

Cassandra wiped her blue jeans of the green liquid that had come out of the yellow bottle she was holding. The cauldron sizzled and a silver vapor began to waft from the concoction. Finally satisfied, she bottled the brew in hopes to to take it to Snape to see if it was correct. After cleaning up her things, she headed back to the common room. Cass had been putting in extra hours in all her classes this week. To be sure, the animagi lessons from McGonogall had taken a lot of time away from her extra studies. She had found an empty classroom on the 7th floor a few days prior, and she had made it her personally study area. Closing and locking th door behind her, she began to walk back to the common room when the sweet strains of a guitar pierced her thoughts.
It was sweet, soulful, and signified a lot of the feelings she had been having lately. Climbing the steps leading up to the tower, she pressed her ear to the door to listen. Sighing, she just wanted to capture the sweet chords in her memory for eternity. She put her back to the wall and slid down it; her hair trailing down the wall as she slid.
Afte a few moments of bliss, she got up, determined to find out who the melodies belonged too. Opening the door, she was surprised to see Kris. " Oh!" she exclaimed.
She stared at the Slytherin boy in wonder, surprised she never knew he had such a great voice. " I'm sorry. I didn't mean to intrude on a private moment." She could feel the blood rushing to her cheeks.

Kris watched calmly as Cassandra came to view. They’re last meeting had been in a somewhat… hostile… environment, even though Kris hadn’t been angry at Cassandra herself. Seeing the girls cheeks head up Kris couldn’t suppress a smirk however. “Wasn’t a private moment really. Last time I checked it wasn’t out of bounds to come to the tower,” Kris remarked casually, taking one last accord on his guitar before stroking his eagle-owls head calmly, “A lot of people come here to do their Astronomy homework. At least people who take the class.”
Kris leaned his head back and sent a heart-melting grin toward Cassandra. He was feeling rather calm today. Almost content as surprising as it was. “Were you looking for something special?” Kris asked calmly lowering his guitar on the ground next to him as his owl walked down to stand on his arm rather than on his shoulder. Looking towards Cassandra calmly, Kris waited for her response.

Kris smiled that smile that made every girl in the school's heart melt. She heaved a sigh, smiling embarrasedly. She looked down at her feet, and then met his gaze under her hair. " Not looking for anything in particular, just heard you playing. You have a great voice. I never knew."
She sat beside him on the floor. " I play a little bit of guitar, but nothing like that. Did you have alot practice growing up? Did you write that song yourself?"

Kris tilted his head. He count the people who knew she could sing on his fingers. Dana, Meredith, Julien, Mary. That chick form Hufflepuff who had transferred to the States. “Learned as a kid. I had a good ear and father worked with me a little,” Kris answered – it was true. It hadn’t taken much effort. Kris had a good voice – isn’t schooled until it lost life, but it was a little rough, a little edgy, but in a way it was soothing, “I mainly sing when I have to calm some animals. And nope, it’s some oldie from the sixties? Smokie.” Kris shrugged – his father had loved that kind of music, so Kris had grown up hearing it every day. It had stuck with him over the years.
((Sorry, not my best. but Kris is changing for some reason. Turning mean and SLytherin like and I can't really help it. It took an effort to write it as it is. Too nice for Kris lately))

Cass smiled up at him. " You shouldn't hide it. You have a real talent. I would personally share it with everyone." Standing up, she walked over to the window and sat down on the ledge. " I've listened to a lot of oldies music, but I've never heard of that song."
She leaned back against the sill and looked out at the stars. " It's such a beautiful night. I remember when I would look out into the stars and wish for dragons and wizards, never knowing they were actually out there." She gave a sigh. " It was really surprising when I got my letter and came here."

Kris’s eyes flashed as Cassandra said that he should sing for everyone: “I’m not a wretched entertainer.” Kris sneered at the mere thought – he and should entertain people? That was about to happen as certainly as ice-age starting in hell. “Surprising? Every muggle-born and half-bloods seem to have weird and freakish accidents happening to them, before they come to school. Surely that must have told you something was different,” Kris said with the sneer still audible in his voice. The owl on his arm hooted softly and touched Kris’s cheek with it’s peak before spreading it’s wings and flying away. On a hunting trip most probably as Kris hadn’t sent any letter and the rather big eagle-owl hadn’t gone to the owlery either. ((Hey, I started the post in the middle of day. A quidditch team practicing for example – doubt they practice at night. Figured we wouldn’t need more detentions ))

She smiled back at Kris. " I never really had anything wierd happen to me. I didn't have the slightest inkling that I might be, you know, different." She got a very embarrassed look on her face. She had never really talked about this with anyone before. It was a bit hard to talk about this, especially with a Slytherin.
" It was funny, you know. I had a Witch living next door to me my entire life and I had no idea. The day I received my letter, my mother was awfully confused. She thought it was joke. She walked over to Mrs. Dartray's home to have her look at it because she couldn't believe it. I remember watching it all from my window. My mother handed her the letter and Mrs. Dartray's eyes nearly popped out of her head. She immediately ran over to my house and gave me a huge hug with an enourmous kiss on each cheek. You would of thought it was her own daughter who got into Hogwarts."
She swallowed. " She's the reason I got to come here. She eventually talked my mother into because she had so many reservations about it. She even took me on my first trip to Diagon Alley. I remember being so overwhelmed by everything there. I just kept thinking to myself that it all had to be a huge dream."
Looking back at Kris, " I was so afraid when I came here. I just knew I was going to be the worst student. However, I came to realize that I wasn't as far behind. Some people who even came from wizarding families didn't know much about magic."
