Cass opened her potions book and stared at the complex poition once again. She shut the book, and placed her head in her hands. Why did it seem everytime she got something in Snape's class there was one more thing she didn't get. The library was quiet today since it seemed alot of people were outside enjoying the wonderful weather. The cold air had finally vanquished itself from the area, and spring weather had finally overtaken Hogwarts. Looking out the window, she saw several students fly by the window on their brooms. God she wanted to be flying, but she just couldn't let her studies suffer anymore. Madam Pince had noticed that her attention had wondered, and she stepped over and shut the window. She walked off while giving Cassandra a strong look.
Looking through her homework, she realized she had another essay due for McGonogall. Closing her books, she began to walk to the Transfiguration section to find some good reference material. Arriving at the section, she could tell no one had been there in years. The books had inch thick dust on their tops. She was pretty sure that if she picked one up it would break in her hands. Finally selecting a title, she opened it up gingerly, hoping not to crack the spine.

Bee was outside in the wonderful weather. There were people flying by. She really wanted to do that, but she had left her broom in the dormitory. She had to do lots of homework, including potions (ugh!) and transfiguration. All that difficult stuff. She wished she had charms homework, for she could do that class with great ease. It was by far her best subject. Snapes' was her worst class. She couldn't do anything right. She had never been a person who cooks, so she wasn't use to all this making and adding ingrediants stuff. Usually, her couldron was a twisted blob by the end of class. She sometimes thought Snape had given up with her, but every day, he was always there, sneering at her as she messed up. She hated it when he did that. She was attempting to do her homework but it proved to be difficult, with all the kids having fun around her. She just couldn't consentrate. So, she decided to go to the library. That place was always quiet, thanks to Madam Pince. Bee stood up, gathering all her things, and walked to the library. Once inside, she looked around, wondering were to sit. She noticed Cass over in the transfiguration section. Cass seemed to be opening a very fragile book. At least, it looked fragile and very old. Bee walked over to a table that she guessed had Cass's things on top. She dumped her stuff on the table, then walked over to were Cass was standing. "Hi Cass! What are you looking at?" Bee said in a whisper, hoping not to attract Madam Pinces' attention.

Shadow was in the far division of the library. Her hands itching to go into the Restricted Section. She then saw two Gryffindors, both her year. “Hmm…should I?” She muttered to the book she was reading, which was ‘Mastering the Dark Arts’. It was a favorite subject of hers. Did she have homework? Yes, of course she did. Was she going to do it? Maybe- possibly, if she had time to. She glanced back over to the Gryffindors, and took a step forward, yet retreated because of Slytherin meeting Gryffindor rules. “Eh…” She muttered again, as if she was tempting to eat a cockroach or something.
‘Maybe they could help me with my assignments, or something… Something I can learn from them… but what could a Slytherin learn from two Gryffindors?’ The thoughts kept battling within her brain. She felt that if she didn’t do something now, the thoughts would get out of her brain and into the Library. She glanced back down at the book, her fingers now tapping against the side binding. Her things were set behind where Cassandra was standing, her quill, parchment, and ink spread upon the hard wooden tabletops. In the corner of the table laid 3 rolls of parchment, in a triangular format.
Yes, her possessions were backed up into a section that not a soul would go into- why? She liked her privacy. Sure it was a bit dusty, but she didn’t mind, all she needed to do was brush a few piles of dust away and it was fine.

She looked around. Bee felt like she was being watched. Her blonde hair whipped around, almost hitting Cass. "Sorry," she muttered to Cass. She wanted to find out who was staring at her. Finally, she found the source. It was a Slytherin girl about her age. Her stomach lurched horribly. A Slytherin, of all people. Bee had a thing for Slytherins. She, a muggle born, was laughed at all the time by them. She had learned to hate them and it hadn't helped that she hadn't met one that was actually nice to her. She stared at the Slytherin. She really wanted to look away, but she couldn't. This girl had caught her attention for some reason. Maybe it was because she didn't look mean at the moment, just curious. It might have been that this girl was in her year. Whatever it was, Bee couldn't help herself. She had to go talk to that Slytherin. She would find out for herself, if a Slytherin could have a kind heart or not towards a muggle born. She started walking towards her, but then hesitated. Should I? she thought, biting her lip. Oh, why not? "Cass, I'll be right back." Bee told her as she started walking towards the girl. She was confident that this girl would insult her if she found out that she was a mudblood, but maybe, just MAYBE, she wouldn't. Maybe..... She started walking again. She reached the girl and she decided she would tell her what she was. "Hi. My name is Bridget, Bee for short. What's yours?"

Shadow’s eyes blinked, a blank stare came over her face. “Shadow.” She said finally, nodding her head at the girl. ‘Why had she started a conversation with a Slytherin?’ She thought to herself, while an eerie silence fell upon their part of the library. “Gryffindor huh? Hmm…it’s been a long time since I talked to a Gryffi.” She muttered crossing her hands across her chest, “So… I s’pose you’re either half-muggle or pure muggle… am I right?” She asked, raising a fine eyebrow.
This was something people had to learn, Shadow loved analyzing people. Whenever she did this, she was usually right. “…and that’s your buddy too right?” She pointed to Cass. “Anyway, you’d better get this straight- I’m Slytherin, you’re Gryffindor… I’m not usually nice to others but –“ She stopped, how could she put this without looking so kind? “But… I guess I can make an exception.”

Cass looked at her through disbelieving eyes. Oh, well, thanks for gracing us with our presence, thought Cass. She looked over at Bee in a way that said Can you believe this girl.
She smiled a fake smile at the girl. " Well, I'm glad you can make the exception. I'm Cass, and yes I''m a mudblood. And you are a, what, Pureblood? I would guess since you are a Slytherin." She looked the girl up and down, trying to size her up. She looked okay enough, and lord knows, Cass didn't discriminate against Slytherins. Hell, she had dated Pyro for a time, and that was something she had yet to escape.
" So, are you hear doing some light studying, or what?"

She looked at the girl. She seemed to be doing alot of guesswork about Bee and she was right about almost all of it. Bee had just wanted to see what this Slytherin was like, and she didn't seem that bad. She looked at the girl, trying to guess how old she was. Bee decided that Shadow looked like she was a third year. She glanced at Cass, when Cass told Shadow she was a mudblood. Then, she decided she better say something. "So am I. I am a mudblood too. But, does that really matter to you?" Bee knew she had asked an easy question. Most Slytherins hated all mudbloods, she knew that. But she just wanted to know what Shadow would say. Some Slytherins were different, and Shadow didn't seem that bad. She hadn't started calling Cass and Bee names, so that was good, wasn't it? She looked at Shadow waiting for her to answer her question and Cass', who had also had a question. Bee loved to test people, mostly Slytherins, just to see how far they can go with a Gryffindor. This should be interesting, she thought as she waited.
