Tristian woke up in a cold sweat. She had had another nightmare. It seemed as if lately the nightmares had become more prominent. After her twin brother had stopped talking to her the nightmares began. She pushed the covers off of her. Every night it was the same. She and her twin in the same room only then the lights go off and there's a green flash. When the lights go back on her twin is dead. Shuddering she got up out of bed and began to dress. If only her twin Tristan wouldn't be so stupid as to try and become one of Voldemorts elite. Maybe then the nightmares would stop but no he insisted on going through with it. She didn't even know why she cared so much. After all it was his choice to do this and no matter how much she'd begged and pleaded for him to wait he wouldn't listen. No she was dead to him. She didn't believe what he believed and because of that he disowned her as a sister just as her parents had basically done. She finished putting on her school uniform with a sigh.
Before she left she took a look in the mirror. Her long black hair was tied in pigtails, the tips dyed green. The green made her think of her nightmare and she decided it was time to change the color. Taking her wand out of her bag she cast a spell on the ends of each pig tail and before her eyes the Green turned to Purple. The color change made her feel a bit better but she was still depressed and when she became depressed she tended to lash out at everyone. It was because of this anger and temper that she earned her place in Slytherin.
Swinging her bag behind her she stalked down to the Great Hall. On her way some of her friends seemed to want to talk to her but a glare in their direction made them think twice so they let her be. At one point she accidentally hit a younger student with her swinging bag. The Hufflepuff looked like she wanted to say something but the look Tristian gave her must have scared her off for she left without a second glance. As she made her way to her table she knocked into a younger Gryffindor. "Watch it." She snarled in a manner that would've made her brother proud.

Cass rushed down to the Great Hall for breakfast. It was a gloomy day. It had recently rained, and that always tended to put her in a bad mood. She brushed over her school uniform quickly, trying to smooth out the wrinkles. She looked in the mirror. "This is as good as it gets, isn't it?" She asked to no one in particular. Ringo mewed in affirmance. She looked down at her cat. " Thanks."
Her trip to the Great Hall hadn't been much different. She had tripped over her own feet, and even dropped her books a couple of times. As soon as she got to the Great Hall, she stopped to talk to a group of friends. Suddenly, a Slytherin very nastily pushed her out of the way and screamed " Watch it!"
She scowled at the girl. " You know, for you slytherin Pure-blood families who are supposed to be so much better than everybody. You could learn some manners!" Her normally sweet and complacent demeanor was suddenly overrun by her anger at the girl's rudeness.

Tristian didn't know what came over her. Normally she wasn't like this. She was the good twin the one that liked halfbloods and muggelborns but the way she was acting today you couldn't tell. The way the gryffindor responded just made her more angry. Even if she did agree that Slytherins should be more polite to the lesser people. The girl stating this however just made her want to defend the Slytherins, her twin.
"Oh we have manners but we're only polite to those that matter." She said scathingly. For some reason she hated this girl this un pure witch. It was their fault all of them the mudbloods the halfbloods the muggles it was all their fault that her brother hated her. Well she would show him she would show them all that she was not to be messed with. Maybe then she'd finally get the respect she deserved.

Cass hurrumphed. " Only those that matter? You have got to have the biggest head in this room, because you don't matter to me." She spit the words back at her.
She straightened up and stared the girl down. " You Slytherin's go on and on about how pure blood families should get the respect they deserve. People like you don't deserve any respect. You only deserve the pity that is given to people who are so short sighted and ignorant."
People were beginning to listen. She didn't care. She was normally a nice person. She had friends in every house, including Slytherins. Trying to get a grip on her anger, she clutched her hands into fists.

Tristian laughed as the girl called her big headed. She couldn't believe this kid. She didn't know anything about her and she had the nerve to call her big headed. It was true there's no doubt about it that Slytherins were generally big headed arrogant fools. She'd told her brother to his face that he was that way but this girl this stranger had no right to call her that. Tristian put her hands on her hips and looked down at the girl.
"People like me huh? And just what kind of person am I? Do you really think that I'm short sighted and ignorant because if you do you are sadly mistaken. You can ask my brother who has disowned me because I actually like Muggleborns and Halfbloods. Or better yet." She said with an angry laugh. "You can ask my Parents who've disowned me because I'm not the ideal Slytherin. So don't you go calling me Short sighted and ignorant because I'm not. You my friend are the one who deserves pity for thinking that all Slytherins are the same." Tristian looked away breathing heavily after her rant. She had to get this under control she hadn't meant to reveal all that and she certainly hadn't meant to get so worked up about it.

She snorted. " All slytherins the same? You apparently were not paying attention to what I said nor listening to the gossip. Haven't you heard, I'm the resident Gryffindor Slytherin Lover around here."
She wiped her forehead, and unclenched her fists. She sighed. " I'm sorry about your family. I completely understand about family. We've gotten off to the wrong start, I'm sorry."
God, this was the third time this year she had swallowed her pride to a Slytherin. " Look. I'm Cassie, and I am the resident Gryffindor Slytherin lover here. " She managed a smile. A tough smile, but a smile none the less.

Tristian sighed as much as she wished she hadn't said all that about her family she was sort of glad she had. Now someone knew what was bugging her and she really didn't want to get into a fight today and that little tid bit about her had stopped one. "Just so you know I wasn't looking for pity...thanks though."
Tristian began fiddling with one of her pigtails. "You're right we haven't gotten off on the right start. I'm sorry I was rude to you. My name is Tristian Knight nice to meet you? Truce?" She asked holding out her hand to the Gryffindor.

Cass looked at the girl's hand with reluctance, and finally took and shook. " Truce." That word meant alot. It was a commitment, a promise. Her word was her bond.
" So? Tristian, huh? I like it. It suits you." She smiled warmly. " So, are you having a bad day? I'm assuming you are. The weather is so terrible out today."
