The rain purred on the roof of the car with an all mighty noise. Mia was wrapped in a blanket trying to stay warm. Marion was driving that car not taking her eyes off the road. Her long brown hair was curly and wet from the damp rain and she looked exhausted. Who wouldn’t be after trying to rescue a terrified horse in a barn? Mia looked out the window and down a cliff to her right. Night came way and it looked dark as the rain drops feel into it. Feeling slightly scared she looked at her mother with a smile. Lighting shot in the shy and followed by thunder. Her ears than noticed the sound of shrieking horse in the trailed behind them. Another bolt of lighting hit a tree before them and fire roared in front of the car as the tree feel down the path. Marion swerved the car to the right and Mia felt her heart leap as the force of gravity seemed to not take affect. Lifting from her seat the truck finally landed on its side and the windows shaded. Mia fluttered her eye lashes and felt her body ached and the wind blow at her. The world seemed dizzy in that spot. "Mom?" she called out but no answer. Turning over on her side Mia crawled towards the car and saw her mother not moving at all. Her body was bloody and looked dead. Mia’s eyes shined with tears and coughed the smoke out. Just than the world blacked out and she was driven to consensus.
The thunder crackled to the distance startling Mia. Her eyes grew with terror and sweat gathered all over her body. Silent tears purred down the eight-teen year old face as she tired to collect herself. Nothing worked and Mia hugged her cat closer to her. Fat Louie purred and looked at her with his emerald green eyes that looked so caring and full of mischief. Mia smiled and hugged Louie, "Louie I keep having that dream. It's so horrible." Mia said in a frighten voice and jumped as a band of thunder hit the castle. Maria was scared of storm ever since that night. The night which took her mother away and seemed to be her happiness. Looking around the dorm she noticed that every girl was sound asleep. The quiet snores seemed to calm her down a little but another band of thunder shock the castle. Mia jumped again and stood from her bed. Pulling on her silk robe and slipping into her slippers she took out her wand and singled Fat Louie to follow her. The cat stretched his front paws on the bed and looked up at her with disbelief. "Do I get food" he seemed to say swishing his tail in the air. Mia giggled and left the common room and adventure out into the halls.
"Elucido" she said in a short whisper and a white light escaped from her wand and down the halls. It was a simple spell she learned in a book and thought it could be used in great use now. But why was he adventuring out of hours? She could loose points for Gryffindor, but Mia need to take a walk to calm her nerves. Wondering down the halls aimlessly she turned her head to the right and heard quiet sounds of taping coming her way. Just than Mia began to panic and turned towards a room and locked her in it. It was the girl’s bath room and Mia did not know why her feet took her in this direction. Sighing she sat down in the corner and noticed Fat Louie had followed her. "Louie! How great I am to see you." she said cradling the fat cat in her arms. The storm continued on outside but she tired to ignore it and continue on.

Sighing Mary put down her book and looked around the abandoned common room. On a sudden impulse she got up and began inspecting it like she never had before. She looked over the bookshelf and scanned the titles. She then moved onto the fireplace and the portrait hanging above it of Salazar Slytherin. “You were brilliant you know; but you sure caused a ton of troubles.” She muttered the man who sat there sleeping in his frame. Gliding along she got to the exit and felt like going out. She rushed down to her dorm room to see one of her roommates there asleep and the others were obviously our somewhere they most likely should be. Mary didn’t give it a second thought though because they did this nearly every night.
She grabbed a green cloak and tossed her purse onto her bed only to grab another with the things she would need out in the castle at night; aka different make-up and without a book. She smiled at her reflection as she pulled a brush through her long strawberry blond hair. Satisfied Mary quickly left the room and the dungeons. She made it up to the main floor before she realised she didn’t know what to do.
Not feeling quite up to the cold and definitely not dressed for it Mary went up the next staircase to the second floor. Walking down a deserted corridor Mary heard only the clicking of her own boots for a few minutes until she turned a corner. Turning around at a sudden noise she saw the tail of a cat who was undoubtedly Miss Norris and knew she couldn’t be found there. Walking as quickly as she could Mary went up to the third floor and ducked into a girl’s toilet to wait until she thought Filch would give up his search should he even begin one. Pulling a lip gloss out of her purse Mary saw another girl behind her in the mirror. “Hello” Mary said in an amicable voice while applying the gloss and watching the girl in the mirror.

((I am sorry for not posting to this any sooner. I have been very busy with school work. Its end of the quarter almost and I have to study for exams.))
Maria was acting like a child. Sitting there cradling her fat cat in her arms. But what else could so do, she just could not hide the fear anymore. Runing her hand over Louie’s soft silkily fur she smiled as he purred on her lap. One thing next to food Louie loved was attention. The fat cat could make her happy even in the darkest of times. A large smile spread across her face as she jumped off her lap and after a little mice the squired off into the corner. It was quite a funny sight to see, Louie was trying to chase it as fast as he could but the mice went right and than left. Standing up from the ground Maria stretched her arms into the air and looked into one of the mirrors. Her long golden brown hair was on her shoulders, almost in curls, and her brown eyes sparkled. Mia never thought of herself as pretty. It was just a way people got around and had an advantage over others. Sighing she sat back down taking out her deep red diary. It contained all the poems she ever wrote and some entries.
Flipping through the pages, Mia noticed some one come into the bath room also. Standing up to face them she smiled and walked next to the girl who was applying make up. She looked about around the age of third teen or maybe four teen with strawberry blonde hair. Smiling even more she spoke, "Hi. If I may ask why are you down here this late at night?" With that Mia picked up Louie and held the cat in her arms. Louie looked at the younger girl and than yawned with boredom. Just than he started to play with her long hair by trying to mess it up. Giggling lightly she smiled and pulled her cat so he wouldn’t try that again. "Sorry about that. He gets bored easily but I still love him. Oh excuse me my names Maria Fleming. I forgot my manners there for a minute." Mia said with a smile and looked at the girls make up.

Mary watched as the girl played with her cat and asked why Mary was down there at that time of night. “Up, actually.” Mary said with a grin referring to the fact that she was a Slytherin. “I felt a little confined to be honest; plus rather bored of my surroundings. I seriously doubt you would know but the Slytherin common room isn’t exactly the most comfortable of zones. It was designed for luxury and everything is beautiful but… it’s not exactly the type of place you call cozy.” Mary said with another grin. She then apologized for not having introduced herself sooner and said her name was Maria. “Oh I'm Mary; Mary Evans.” Mary said turning to the girl and extending her hand. “So Maria, what brings you to this floor at this hour?” Mary asked with a grin.

Maria looked at Mary with smile on her face. Louie kept scrumming in her arms wanting to be put down. Bending down she let her cat wonder more into the bath room and looking for something to eat. Standing up straight she looked back at Mary and listened to her talk about why she was out. "I never been in the Slytherin common room, and don’t care to be. Even know some Slytherins are nice others are just pain out nasty and are very coarse." Maria said looking out the window. Complete darkness took over and she could hear the swaying of the trees. Swoosh, Swoosh. Maria listened to the wind. Taking in a deep breath she looked at the younger girl and wondered if she could tell the truth or not. Taking her hand she smiled and said, "Hello there Mary. I am out because I couldn’t sleep, been doing that a lot lately. But oh well. Can I see your make up bag? I don’t normally wear make up but still own some lip gloss and eye shadow."

Mary giggled as Maria said that she wouldn’t care to be in the Slytherin common room because some are just nasty and cruel. “Isn’t everyone though? I mean deep down inside nobody is truly nice all the time; if they were jealousy wouldn't run so ramped, vengeance would be unheard of, and nobody would have ever accomplished much.” She said with a friendly smirk. The pair listened to the storm for awhile and Mary beamed, she adored the rain, especially storms. She found the patter of the rain, crash of the thunder, and brief illuminations from the lightning so relaxing for some reason.
Maria then explained that she was out because she had been suffering from insomnia lately and requested to see Mary’s makeup bag. Mary simply smiled at her and handed the older girl her purse which contained a wallet, a peach lipstick, a red one, a pink one, and the gloss she had just applied in addition to black and blue eyeliners and green, black, and pink eye shadows, and finally a small hairbrush. “I know just what you mean, I am a bit of an insomniac myself. Its like my mind gets too busy to allow me some rest you know? Even have a sleeping drought stored in my room for emergencies it gets so bad sometimes.” Mary told her.

Maria smiled as the third year seemed kind. Taking her make up bag she unzipped it and looked inside. There were some pink and green lip glosses at one end. Some eye shadow, and even eye liner. Maria never wore so much make up in her life. Well she really didn’t have to deal with zits appearing on her face. "I only thought cleaning your face was a god thing to keep it healthy. But I stand corrected. Some of the things you have in here Mary, I have not seen before. Lou always wants to dress me up, but nope not going to happen. Oh...Sorry Lou my older sister, she watches over me now, even know I can have my own place, but I need to watch over everything at my home. What about you Mary? Who is in your family? If you don't mind me asking." Maria asked smiling and hoping the girl might open up to her. She knew that some people were sensitive about their families and never really liked to talk about it. But sometimes it was the only way to get things off your chest.

Mary grinned as Maria said that she though washing your face was all you had to do to keep it healthy but that she stood corrected. “Well that is what keeps it healthy, I honestly don't have any of my face stuff in there because I only use it at the beginning and ends of the day so its down in my room. But makeup does just add that little extra bit I find. I know thirteen is too young to wear it so much I am told but… well look at my boots does it seem like I worry about things like that?” Mary asked with a giggle indicating the pointy black boots she had on with two-inch stiletto heels. Mary always wore boots like that because quite frankly she adored them and didn’t care much for most footwear designed for girls her age.
The older girl explained that her older sister liked to dress her up and things. She then went on to explain that Lou looked after her and she looked after everything at home. She asked about Mary family but assured her that she didn’t have to if she was uncomfortable. “Oh no I don't mind at all. I have no siblings actually just my parents and I. I'm not even close to anyone in my house because everyone who raised me my mother would make sure I never established a personal relationship with. And well my father does what my mother tells him; he lost his personality at the wedding, assuming he ever had one. And my mother is just to overbearing to become close to. But I love them; they make sure I am provided for so… they aren’t so bad.
“I did always want an older brother though. What's your sister like? What house was she in?” Mark asked Maria after her babble was through.

Maria leaned on her back against the wall closet to the sink and put her head down listening to Mary talk about her family. It consisted of a mother and father and how her father lost his since after marrying the younger girl’s mother. Smiling Maria looked up at Mary and giggled a little. She normally acted slightly strange for not getting enough sleep. But there's been so many thunder storms lately and scaring the wits out of her. Taking a deep breath, Maria began to answer the younger girl’s question, "Well it’s some times bad and sometimes not. Depends if you want a younger sister of and older. I hate older because they always buss you around. But Lou's to drink to listen to anybody. I guess I just been so used to being and only child." Maria said with a smile and turned her head the other way and out the window.
The wind began to blow fiercely wanting to knock the castle over. A light stocked the shy and a band of thunder came shortly after it. Jumping Maria looked around for her cat and noticed him ambushing a mouse in the corner. The little creature looked so scared and seemed to almost beg for it not to be eaten. Laughing as Louie missed it again she walked over towards him and picked the fat cat up in her arms and turned around towards Mary. "Do you have a cat or any other animals?" she asked scratching Louie behind the ears. "Would you care to hold in also he likes company and apparently your hair as well." Maria said laughing softly as Louie blinked at marry and tired to squirm out of his owners arms.
