It was still a cold spring day. The rain was purring outside, making sure that life would bloom back. Maria was in an empty class room sitting on a desk with her legs out in front of her. A read note book lay open on her lap, and a muggle pen was in her hands. A large smile was on her face as she watched the rain drop to the ground. There was something about it that made her feel special inside. Maria had never felt that feeling before, only once, but that was when her mother was alive. A frown than appeared on her face as she thought of home. Nothing seemed to be going right. Her sister was now pregnant and expecting a baby next year. Most people would feel happy but not Maria. Her life seemed to be planned, after Hogwarts she would enter the wizarding world and work. But she wondered if she should but that off to make sure the baby was okay. Sighing Maria tucked a strand of her hair behind her ears and looked back out the window, and trying not to remember of home.
The rain was making a lovely noise on the window. It went, drip, drip, drip. Closing her eyes, Maria tried to concentrate on a poem. Taking a deep breath to calm her nerves she let her mind wonder. It wonders from one word to the next. "Rain........ Summer........ Peace....... Harmony" she went on letting her mind work. Maria was a skilled writer and always told her poem to others. Her words of wisdom and hope seemed to make the person happy and find the light again. A large smile spread across her face as she began to scribble down words. A musical melody filled her mind and she let herself sing silently. It was a song from her all time favorite musical, Phantom of the opera. Maria had seen it almost 20 times and was still dazed at the performers. Some of the pitches seemed to be high and the stress it most have caused. It was a secret that Maria liked opera. Most people were into the pop and rock music the muggle world had to offer. Even know some of the muggles had great voices.
"Say you'll love me every waking moment
Turn my head with talk of summertime
Say you need me with you now and always
Promise me that all you say is true
That's all I ask of you" She sang into the empty room reaching the high notes perfectly.
Maria was in a daze as she was writing and singing. A good feeling went through her body as she was at peace. Writing and singing opera always seemed to do that to her. Closing her eye she swayed back and forth and continued to sing. The melody filled inside of her mind making sure she would not forget how it went. Just than some one entered the room and Maria was startled. Rolling over towards the ground she got up right away and laughed. "I am sorry you just stalred me. Who are you and were you watching me this whole time?" Maria asked the younger student with a warm and welcoming smile on her face.
