Faith watched as the room slowly started to fill up. Most faces were new though she recognised Rayne, Pyro, Cassandra and Karissa from previous collisions.
Faith heard a murmur of 'Sonourus' from behind her and turned around to hear what Dana was going to say.
Faith nodded at the comment on ball-gowns, tugging at her own and wishing for her jeans back. However, she gave a good-natured laugh and decided to go get some juice, adjusting her mask as she went and wondering what the jinx involved.
Sipping at her newly aqquired drink she leant against the wall and looked up to the stage, to see when Karissa would begin.

*Pyro turned and faced Cassandra. He could easily tell it was her because of her voice. He was just about to say something when Dana Made her anouncment. He grined behind his mask and looked at Cassandra. "Im sorry, have we met? Who might you be?" He had to hold in his laughter. He wondered what would happen if anybody told them who they were. he looked around at all the others clothes. "well, wide asortment of dress we have here." he looked down at his clothes, than at Cassandras. "and yes, I do suppose we would make a wierd couple, that is, if we were a couple." His grin grew wider.

Elina looked up, curious, and laughed lightly and took the boy's hand. She couldn't refuse, after all, she did come to have a good time. Though her dress did make her quite agitated, she accepted the offer to dance and while allowing him to pull her to the dance floor she smiled again, "If you can find a dragon here, please do let me know." I can't do this, I can't socialize all night, I thought I could but, I can't, Elina thought as they danced, she looked to the door and nodded. Once the song ended, Elina broke free and smiled.
"Thanks for the dance, now I must go...my time is up." Elina whispered, she grabbed her things quickly and left the room, instantly her dress was turned back into her jeans and her top. Elina looked back into the room, and what could've been and retreated back to the Ravenclaw common room, in quite a hurry. Upon reaching the common room, Elina collapsed into a chair and took out her Gone With The Wind, faded into the world in which she did belong.

Karissa laughed, realizing she wouldn't need the mic she had conjured. She stood in front of the crowd on the stage as a few people turned to look at her. She waved her wand and a simple tune struck out of nowhere. It was kind of fast, and was one of her favourite muggle songs. Karissa opened her mouth and began to talk to the crowd. "This song is dedicated to my special valentine, wherever he is," she said, scanning the crowd. Nope, not there. Karissa began to sing. "I can't help but blush when you're near me But you just exclude me from your circle of three I'm right in front of you, but you don't see You treat me like I'm a Colin Creevey I love you, but it seems you don't love me My friends say you're so brave And I know you will see that we were meant to be When you miss me it'll be too late I've swallowed so much love, my hair grows red Come over to my house to see my brother instead You didn't get my valentine, didn't know what it meant Every page about you my diary's read I love you, but it seems you don't love me My friends say you're so brave And I know you will see that we were meant to be When you miss me it'll be too late Even though you're the one I adore Next year at Hogwarts you'll see I've transformed I will hold my head up high, I'm a Gryffindor And you won't need to save me anymore I love you, but it seems you don't love me My friends say you're so brave And I know you will see that we were meant to be When you miss me it'll be too late I love you, but it seems you don't love me My friends say you're so brave And I know you will see that we were meant to be When you miss me it'll be too late," Karissa finished the song, and took a bow. For the first time the whole night, she was glad her head was streaked with red, thanks to Dana's funny trick with the door. The lights on the stage made her entire head of hair look red, so it was believable. As Karissa went down the stairs off the stage, her shoes got caught on the skirt of her dress, and she slipped forward. ((ooc: that song was 'Ode to Harry Potter' by Switchblade Kittens, but Harry isn't my Valentine, I'm pretty sure he already asked Julie Rosewood to be his on this special day! ;D)) ((Wanna hear the song Kari just sang? Cass smiled wickedly at Pyro. " No definetly not a couple. You couldn't handle me anyway. If it wasn't for me letting you win all the time, you wouldn't probably win anything. But, of course, since you said you would attempt to accompany to this sour'e, ((Yeah, I spelled it wrong!)) you at least owe me a dance. And, maybe, it wouldn't hurt you to at least act like a gentleman," Cass smiled exuberantly," Of course, there would have to be ladies present for you to act like a gentleman, And, alas, since I am not one, you may need to go in search of another one."
Cass looked to her left, and then she looked to her right. She looked straight on at Pyro. " Well, since I am the only girl in the immediate vicinity of you, I guess I will have to do."
" So, come on, Pyro Blackfire, make my night."

Jasmine was taking a stroll thoug the courtyard with a dreamy look on her face. Today was Valentines Day and she finally found that special some one to share it with. Closing her eyes she hummed a little tone and continued down the long paths of the Hogwarts garden. Spring was finally emerging and bringing life to the little vegetation outside. Even know she loved winter, but it was getting on her on her last nerves lately. But she didn’t have to get mad that day or feel mildly depressed. She was going to be happy and have a great time with her friends and Jaquin. As Jasmine mind wondered off about love she didn’t notice the time. Looking at her watched she read 5:00 PM and her hazel eyes grew wide with shock. She had been outside for almost three hours, and the part was soon! Looking both ways she ran into the castle and up to the Ravenclaw tower.
After entering the common room she walked up the stairs to the fifth year dorms. Walking over towards her bed she looked at the clothes that were spread out nicely before she left. A large smile spread across her lips as she pulled on near by long demon skirt and a long light blue colored turtle neck. Her long dark brown hair was down and silky looking. Jasmine’s hazel eyes sparkled more than ever and butter flies seemed to float in her stomach. Sitting down on her bed she took out her book called “The horse whisperer”. Before Lana feel tragically ill she sent Jasmine this book to remind of the special bond with people and horses. Touching the cover of the book and turned it over to the back and read the summary. It sounded so good and Jasmine felt like reading on until it was finished. But it was either read or spend a night with Jaquin and Vanessa. Sighing she set the book down and walked out of the common room making her way to the ball room.
Jasmine finally reached the ball room and walked through the door. But as she entered she felt something weigh her down more. Looking down at her clothes she gasped. This wasn’t what she was wearing before. Biting her lower lip she walked over towards a mirror. Her eyes grew big with surprise as her hair was pulled up into a different fashion and was curled at the end. Looking down at the dress she touched the fabric. She was wearing a light blue colored gown that puffed out at the ends and had lace flowers swirled near her waist line. Feeling a littler uncomfortable she looked down at her feet and gasped again. Tonight she surely was Cinderella with the beautiful dress and glass slippers. A worried look formed on her face as she walked over towards the mask and looked at each one with interest. Some had feathers and other was sparkly and shined under the lights. Picking up a light blue satin mask she pulled it on and looked in the mirror again. How was anyone going to recognize her in this outfit?
Taking her eyes off the mirror she scanned the crowds for Jaquin or Vanessa. But all the students were different and hard to tell. Biting her lower lip she looked a person wearing causal dress wear. “Vanessa there you are! I can’t believe it picked me to wear this!” Jasmine called out and walked over to her friend trying not to fall wearing the shoes. Looking at Vanessa and wished that she was wearing what her friend ware. Sighing Jasmine looked up at the stage and saw a younger girl sing. The girl was an okay singer but she could have picked a song that seemed more her or something different. A sweet smiled spread across her lips as she looked at Vanessa and wondered what well happen or if her best friend will ask if she came alone or not.

Karissa managed to pick herself off the floor. She walked around, and a few people stopped her to tell her how good her song was. She ended up at the back of the room, which is what usually happened to her at parties, and began to think aloud.
"I wonder why the door chose for me to wear this? I look like a sorta punk princess or comething." Karissa waved her wand over her hair to try to reverse the hair dye, but to no avail. She decided it would be better all red, and decided to spread the colour around a bit. She stood in front of the mirror, and magically styled it. She was obviously the only one who had thought to do this, and when she was done, it looked even better. Pure, crimson red hair, tied up in a small pony tail sticking out in a few places and with a few small braids here and there. It was tied back with a black velvet bow, and Karissa magically changed her mask to match the hair tie. Now it was black velvet with little pointed cat ears.
Much better, and this will hopefully not change when I leave tonight.
Karissa took a little sandwich triangle and sat down. She blinked her green eyes, while nibbling on the sandwich. There wasn't much going on, she didn't have anyone to talk to or dance with... Then Karissa realized someting. She hadn't turned the music back on, and no one was singing. She ran back up to the stage, and performed the same spell Dana had performed on her. She would gladly sing until any one wanted to switch with her.

Karissa blinked. A few people looked up at her, then went to find dancing partners. Once again, for the second time that night, her voice rang clear and true throughout the room.
"Grew up in a small town And when the rain would fall down I just stared out my window Dreaming of what could be And if I'd end up happy I would pray
Trying not to reach out But when I'd try to speak out Felt like no one could hear me Wanted to belong here But something felt so wrong here So I pray I could breakaway
I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly I'll do what it takes til' I touch the sky I'll make a wish Take a chance Make a change And breakaway Out of the darkness and into the sun But I won't forget all the ones that I loved I'll take a risk Take a chance Make a change And breakaway
Wanna feel the warm breeze Sleep under a palm tree Feel the rush of the ocean Get onboard a fast train Travel on a jet plane, far away And breakaway
Buildings with a hundred floors Swinging around revolving doors Maybe I don't know where they'll take me but Gotta keep moving on, moving on Fly away, breakaway
I'll spread my wings And I'll learn how to fly Though it's not easy to tell you goodbye I gotta take a risk Take a chance Make a change And breakaway Out of the darkness and into the sun But I won't forget the place I come from I gotta take a risk Take a chance Make a change And breakaway..."
Karissa once again bowed, and waved at the audience. She was pretty sure a few people had already been able to tell it was her, especially the Gryffindors that had heard her sing before in between classes or in Hogsmeade.
"Thanks, and could someone else please get up here and sing a song, because eventually I'll run out and have to sing something like 'The Wheels on the bus go ROund and Round' or 'Old McDonald had a Farm', and you really don't want me to have to sing those songs."

Rayne was debating whether or not she should leave. It wasn't as if anyone noticed that she were there. That was always the case with her she always seemed to fade into the background when it came to parties. Though the fact that she was just standing in a corner probably wasn't helping anything. Just as she was about to go someone came up to her and commented on the clothing everyone was wearing. "While I can't speak for everyone, I wasn't exactly thinking elegant when I came in here. I'm in a sort of gloomy gothic mode and this is what the door gave me." She said gesturing to her clothes. "I dont' mind it so much though I think it's pretty." Rayne accepted the drink that Dana gave her. "Thanks." She said drinking some of it before Dana handed her a hug card and then hugged her. Smiling Rayne pocketed the card thinking of Kris. For he'd mentioned some of friends calling him Krissy Bear and she could just imagine his reaction if he were to walk around as a giant teddy bear for 24 hours.
"I don't mind talking to you. It's not like I have very much else to do and I like meeting and getting to know new people. And you aren't overly bubbly everyone else is just under bubbly."

He laughed at what she said to him. "well, it might not hurt to act like a gentleman, but why take the risk. and besides, I didnt have to act like much of a gentleman to get you to accompany me to this party, now did I?" He took a bow and offered her his hand. 'it would seem you are the only girl in my immediate vacinity, So I shall accept a dance with you." he took her hand and led her to the dance floor.

She thought about if for a moment. It was true, he hadn't acted like much of a gentleman to get her to come to the party. She took his hand, and allowed him to move her around the dance floor. She was lost in thought.
" Hey, wasn't it meet who asked you out because you were to chicken to do it?"
She smiled at him warmly. He wasn't that bad of a dancer. She was a bit clumsy since their Kendo lesson left her a little weak.

“Well, your costume is a proof that gothic gloomy style can be absolutely gorgeous as well,” Dana said. She really did like the younger girls dress, “It’s nice to meet you too though. Even as I can’t tell you my name right now.”
Dana grinned and tapped her rest mask with a grin: “I’ve seen what kind of a jinx is placed on this mask if you say your name. The mask will pretty much melt into your skin for 24 hours and it’s not removable. And besides of that you’ll have to keep talking in rhymes and with a singing voice for the same amount of time.”
Dana glanced around the room to make sure there were no problems: “Although I think most people have guessed that it’s me after my little announcement.”
Tilting her head Dana grinned mischievously: “So why are you under bubbly? This day is meant for celebrating with friends. Want to sing on the stage? I don’t have the best voice in the world, but I think I could manage with a simpler tune if you need someone along.”
"Yeah I think I'd have to agree with you that pretty much everyone knows who you are but it's not that bad as the party would pretty much be in turmoil if there was no one to run it. As for the mask thing I like the mask but not that much and I'm not much of a rhyme person so I think I'll wait till the alloted time to reveal to anyone who I am." Rayne said taking a sip of her drink then looked thoughtful.
"I suppose I'm in an under bubbly mood because I've never really had a good Valentines Day and I don't expect this one to be any different."
Rayne thought about Dana's offer for singing. She absolutely loved to sing but she'd never gotten the courage to do it before. She frowned into her cup thinking. The masks might actually be helpful as she'd get to sing in public and no one would know it was her. Looking up at Dana she smiled. "That could be fun. Would you sing along though?"

Vanessa laughed as someone hugged her then ran off, leaving her with a card. Her brown eyes scanned the crowd for someone to hug and had the card on, spotting her best friend Jasmine running over towards her, in a sparkling ball gown. Vanessa nodded once with a sly smile, and looked at her own outfit. The floor length blue jean skirt, dragged behind her as she walked, and the hot pink peasant top rubbed against her skin. She lifted up the skirt a little to see clear flip flops. Vanessa approved of her outfit, but felt a little out of place. Reaching her hand up to feel her mask, she realzied it was a jean mask as well with beads and sequins, not too bad in Vanessa's eyes.
"Haha, that door is berserk! But, I must admit, it's a pretty dress. I'm just thankful I didn't get anything extravagant. I guess, I'm in a....singing mood? And when I sing, I'm in a long skirt? I don't know....so, what's up sista? You look, like, you won a million bucks." Vanessa linked arms with Jasmine, making sure not to use her name and steered her towards the refreshment table, the card still weighing down Vanessa's pocket. Swiping up a cup, she ladeled some punch into it and took a drink. She tugged the card out of her pocket, and leaped into Jasmine, pulling her into a big hug. Then, laughing, she pulled away and handed her the card, explaining that she could hug anyone and they get the card and pass on the hugs.
"Oo, we should sing!" Vanessa exclaimed with joy as a girl finished singing a song, she tugged on her friend's arm and led her towards the guitar that was still against the wall where she had left it before. Vanessa swept it up, and played a couple of chords, looking at Jasmine with glittering eyes. She tilted her head and smiled pleading at the other girl, over-hyper and ready to scream, supercalifragulisticexpealidocious at the top of her lungs over and over again.

Karissa climbed down the stairs, watching another girl start playing a guitar and screaming. She noticed Kris Graas, and walked over to him.
"Hey Kris. I've been thinking. You should get up on that stage and sing. When you talk it sounds nice, kind of rough but melodic, and obviously your singing would be similar," Karissa said, and began trying to drag Kris toward the stage.

Justin grinned, took off his hat, bowed, and said " Howdy miss.", stood back up,put his hat on, saying " I like my hat to, but yeah the whole tux thing was the doors fault, otherwise I would have looked a little bit more like a cowboy." Grinning he said " I think I'm going to sing next." He watched as D.J. grabbed them both some punch. As he took the cup from her, he said " I thought that getting the punch was my job, oh well thanks for the punch." He downed the punch and looked down at D.J.'s dress, then said " Nice dress, now time for me to sing."
Jumping on the stage, he remembered that he needed his guitar. Pulling out his wand, he said " Accio Guitar." He watched as his guitar came to him through the window. Strumming a tune, he looked around and began to sing.
I do'nt wanna rush this thing, I do'nt wanna jump the gun. I really wanna say those three little words, but I'm bite my tongue. I'm just gonna lay on back, leave it on cruise control, I'm gonna hold it all inside, tell her when the time comes dow the road.
I got a feeling, my heads a reeling, my hearts a screaming, I'm about to bust loose. Bottled up emotion, it's more than a notion. It starts with an I and ends with a U. I've got a feeling, are you feeling it to?
I guess I've already said it now, so much for hoping you'd go first. Do'nt leave me hanging out here on a line, baby it's your turn. Say you could'nt slep last, swore that you could feel me breathe, and you wanna lay there on your side, yeah baby I know what you mean.
I got a feeling, my heads a reeling, my hearts a screaming, I'm about to bust loose. Bottled up emotion, it's more than a notion. It starts with an I, and ends with a U.Yeah I've got a feeling, that you're feeling it to?
Bottled up emotion, it's more than a notion. It starts with an I and ends with a U. Yeah I've got a feeling, and your feeling it to, your feeling it tooooooo, yeah you're feeling it to.
He ended the song and jumped back down, grinning, saying, " What'd you think?" to D.J.

He watched her clumsiness during her dancing and could easily tell it was from their kendo duel. He had felt great after it, it had been a long time since he had had a good excercise like that. "yes it was neat of that person. but I do hope their shoulder will be alright."

D.J. smiled and clapped as Justin finished singing, he was good, she had to admit. As he came back downstage, D.J. smiled again, "You have a great voice, you like to sing, I take it?" D.J. asked with the last sip of her punch. She tapped the cup with her wand, and it disappeared. She looked up at Justin again, her green eyes reflecting the light of the room and growing brighter then what they usually were, "You were good...really good." She added as an after thought, she then shook her head as if to get out of the reverie she had been in and wondered if she walked through the door, then came back in, what would happen. She decided not to chance it, after all, she had to get used to wearing big dresses again, she was a bridesmaid for Lou's wedding. Lou was Mia's sister, and Mia had invited D.J. to be a bridesmaid, and stupidly D.J. accepted. Now she had to find a date.

Jasmine smiled as Vanessa noticed her. At least her best friend could find her. A smile was on her face and she really wanted to take off the mask. Pulling at it she couldn’t take it off. Jasmine sighed, "Yeah I wish I won a million dollars but I don't know my mood seems to be like Cinderella when she went to ball." Jasmine said looking off into the distance with a dreamy look on her face. Her thoughts and memories were taking over her and she seemed to be in her own little land. Jasmine normally did not do this but today was her day and it was so special. She finally asked out the person she adored more than ever and he accepted. At first Jasmine did not know what he would say. She thought he would say no and wouldn’t go out with a childish girl like her. But I guess she lucked out.
Snapping back into reality she looked at Vanessa and smiled. "At least Cinderella had to leave at mid night but I don’t have too." Jasmine added with her last comment. Letting Vanessa drag her off to the refreshment table she picked up some butter bear and took a sip. Holding the cup in her hands she hummed a little tone in her throat and felt like singing too. "Singing sounds nice we can go up. But what to sing? There are so many good songs to sing and such little time." Jasmine said looking out into the crowd and trying to remember a familiar face or voice. The voice of that some one she adored more than ever. Jaquin was probably one of the first people she became friends with than it was Vanessa and it went down hill from there. She was lucky to have such great friends and needed them more than ever on this very special night.

Cass couldn't tell if he knew she was blushing underneath the mask. " Well, thank you. I guess this means you've won two rounds. Well, you've actually won one. Cause I still let you win that first time," she smiled back at him, " A good Gryffindor never accepts defeat. However, I do admit this type I think I've bitten off more that I can chew."
" I'm still trying to figure out how you hit me that hard. I didn't tell Madam Pomfrey what had happened. She would flip. I can hear her now, 'Practicing a dangerous art in the Room of Requirement. That's too dangerous for students.'" She smirked at the memory. She went on and on about how she couldn't figure out how she got the wound.
She stopped dancing for a moment and rubbed her shoulder. " It's still a bit sore. However, it was all in the battle."
