Katie stared dazed at Phoebe.
"People aren’t who they always seem" Katie could her father’s voice say.
She than slyly smiled at Phoebe. "Go ahead but I wont be put down because I have more important things to worry about like my guitar, friends, homework, and many more" Katie said. She normally didn’t really care what people think of her.
"Its just one rumor" Katie said still staring at Phoebe who seemed taken back on what she said.
For a first year Gryffindor Katie doesn’t let anyone run her over or put her down.
She contuined to smile at Phoebe

Phoebe stoped herself in mid glare. She snorted softly. Obviously the kid hadn't realized that Phoebe was only joking.
"You've got to lighten up Kate. I was only kidding. I wouldn't tell anyone anyway. I have no one to tell." She said with a sigh. She looked at Katie waiting her response.
"Not every Slytherin is out to get you. Well at least I'm not." Phoebe said watching Katie closely. She didn't feel a threat from the girl. It was obvious something else was on her mind. She just watched her carefully.

"Just a couple of weeks ago a Slytherin tripped me by the lake. I went tumbling down the hill and hurt my leg and my wrist." Katie said as her heart stopped for what happen next.
"I then tumbled into the lake and I get to the surface" Katie said taking a deep breathe.
"my leg and my wrist hurt so badly I could get to the surface and the water was pulling me down wonting me to die" Katie said holding her breathe remembering.
"I could see a white light and I was pulled out of the lake by Ivy" said remember how her lungs were almost on fire from lack oh H2o.
"She saved me" Katie said than taking another deep breath.

Ivy smiled at what Katie said about Quidditch. It was good to see that she was keen; she would probably make a good player when she was older. As Ivy hoped to be. Ivy watched the Slytherin fourth year girl carefully. She didn't seem particularly sincere, but with Slytherins yopu could never tell. 'Not every Slytherin is out to get you'. Well, maybe that was true, but Ivy would never trust one. That was as far as she knew, anyway. She would be extremely surprised if she did ever trust one. Ivy listened as Katie told her story. It could not have been a pleasant experience for her and it was clearly etched into her memory. "Three Slytherin first years, actually," Ivy said to Phoebe. "And they decided to pick on one girl in the same year as them. It wasn't fair and it wasn't brave of them to do it. It was pure malice on their part. Katie hadn't done anything to them. She was just there, and they decided to have a bit of fun. I'm glad that I was there or else Katie could have been much more seriously hurt than she was, and she was hurt badly enough. What's worse is that those at fault weren't taught a lesson, so for all I know they can, and probably will, do it again." Ivy smiled at Katie. Although the circumstances in which they met weren't the best possible, at least they'd both gained a friend through it. Ivy was glad to have Katie as her friend - she was fun, engaging and lively and didn't leave it up to Ivy to start the conversation. ((Just for scientific clarity, H2O is actually water. Oxygen is an element, water is a compound and air is a mixture of certain elements and compounds, oxygen being one of them. Lack of H2O was not the problem in this case. ))

-lol I am very slow with the elements ;D-
Katie smiled at Ivy she was very drawn to her for her heroic actions.
"I think I am never going to swim or go by the lake ever again" Katie said staring off into space trying to remember exactly what happen.
"So.... what are you guys working on" Katie said trying to change the subject.

((Before you read this you might want to read Phoebe's post down below. I'm confused myself...))
Ivy laughed a little at what Katie had said, although it had been serious. She didn't like the water much either; she couldn't swim.
"I'm not working on anything," Ivy said. "I was just coming in here to read." Ivy grinned at Katie and waved her book around in the air a little. "Not much chance of that though. Do you read much?" she asked Katie.
It wasn't something she knew about Katie - after all, they'd only met the other day, although they were good friends already, which was strange, since it usually took a long time for Ivy to call someone a friend. Still, there was something in the younger girl which Ivy just really liked., and so they'd become friends. As for Katie, well, she'd probably find Ivy boring in time but Ivy had helped her out a bit so it was natural that she'd be grateful.
That really was the only good thing to come out of Katie being hurt - that they'd each gained a friend. and Katie was right as rain again now, thanks to Madam Pomfrey. But it could have been very different.
Ivy looked coldly at the Slytherin girl. She didn't like the way she'd said that. She didn't want an enemy but on the other hand she wasn't having things implied. Her cheeks slightly tinged with pink, she replied to Phoebe cooly.
"Did I make a big deal of it? Did I say they wanted her to die? I don't think either of us said that. And I can tell you, I couldn't see what house the girls were from either. I could just see one young person being picked on by three others. And I didn't like that. I assure you, I would have done the same had it been a Slytherin, had it been Gryffindors picking on a Slytherin. Because it isn't fair to gang up against one person. Now, I never said anything against Slytherin. But that was all I was able to identify them as, because I was more worried about Katie. So don't get all worked up and accuse me of doing that."
Ivy was slightly surprised with herself, and she was sure that Kiyla would be astonished, but she meant it. Oh yes, she meant it. She wasn't going to be accused of having been discriminatory. She was merely disgusted by the behaviour of the youngsters. She would never have done anything like that in her first year.

Phoebe listened to Katie tell the story. She smiled in spite of herself. She knew that Katie had been exaggerating when she said the Slytherins wanted her to die. She doubted that. Probably a bunch of kids out to have fun. She remembered when she was like that. Phoebe listened to what Ivy said about teh younger Slytherins. Her fellow Slytherins. Seeing as she was the only Slytherin there she knew she should stand up for the house. Only... how could she do that without everyone at the table hating her and while staying true to her brother.
"A Slytherin is a Slytherin. You can never know what to expect with us. Sure that was wrong but c'mon. A kid is a kid and kids do stupid things. I bet if it were three Gryffindors and one Slytherin you would not have made that much of a big deal about it. Some would have laughed at the Slytherin and not even tried to help them. Everyone hates Slytherin, I know, and when a Slytherin tries to be nice to a Gryffindor everyone always gets suscious and thinks that they are trying to use them. Some Slytherins are like that but not all. So what Slytherin's are always made out to be cold and bad at heart? We can't help that we are like that. It's not our fault. Our parents have just always taught us that and their parents taught them the same. Slytherin's have to stick together because if we don't that will happen to us. That's probably one of the reasons Slytherin's are like that. They have been made fun of so long taht they turned cold. I know that when I was their age I would have had a kick out of that. When you are young you don't think about the consquences. So yes you can blame them for their behavior but just don't make them sound like they hated her and wanted her to die."
Phoebe sighed. She had stood up for her house. She had nothing more to say. She didn't bare to look around. Though she wondered if anyone had even lisntened to what she said. If they had they were probably disgusted with her for saying that but it had to be said. She grabbed her things and mumbled, "I'll just leave if you don't feel comfortable with me here."
She stood up slowly and sighed.

Katie laughed at Ivy as she but her book in the air. "I love to read I am reading a book right now called Dueling throughout the ages" Katie said taking out her book and showing it to Ivy.
Katie was happy Ivy was her friend and never knew she would make friends like that. Last year at school she was strange and had no friends. People would call her strange and freak. She would read books on werewolves and vampires. On the last day of school last year a popular girl knocked her down on purpose and said "You don’t belong her you freak". Katie was so mad that suddenly the girl’s hair fell out and she went into the girls bathroom crying.
Katie chuckled as she remembered. She than noticed Phoebe stand up. "No Phoebe stay here we all would have done the same thing stand up for house if it was being made fun of" Katie said with a reassuring smile.

Phoebe bit her tongue at Ivy's reply. She had done so well, well except what she said jokingly to Katie, not to say all her nasty comments and she would not allow one to slip now. Phoebe smiled sweetlyt at Katie.
"No...It's alright... I can see I'm not wanted here." She said. She almost sent a glare at Ivy but instead smiled innocently at her and walked casually out the library glaring at every person who looked at her instead.

Ivy raised her eyebrows at what the Slytherin girl had said. This wasn't exactly Ivy's best day, and she could have done without that.
Ivy made eye contact with Kiyla, communicating that she really needed to talk to her as soon as possible. Then Ivy shifted uncomfortably in her seat and stood up.
"Right, OK, well I guess that's that. I'm going to bed now, I really need to get some sleep."
Ivy stood up wearily and walked out of the library. That was what she'd been trying to do before, of course, but this time she was going to actually do it. And not have voices talking to her in her head, thank you very much.

Katie stared after Ivy and Phoebe as they left. She let out a big yawn and decided to leave, it was really late.
"Bye Jordan, Kyila, see you guys laters" Katie said with another big yawn.
She got up and left to Gryffindor tower.

Kiyla sighed. Ivy had snapped. Kiyla wasn't sure exactly why. She figured that the Slytherin girl was only saying that in general but she still didn't have to make it sound like Ivy and Katie hated Slytherins. Kiyla sighed once more as she looked at Ivy. She could tell things were on her mind.
Kiyla got up along with Ivy and walked to the dormitries.
