Brett looked along the book shelves for the title of a certain book. It wasn't there. Sighing, he grabbed the nearest book and headed back to his table, which his school things were laid out. Quills and inkpots stood at one end of the table and parchment at the other. He was busy at writing and finishing his potions essay and various other writings.
Brett was never good at writing essays or reports for classes or anything else in that area. Writing reely was something Brett used as an outlet for his energy. He wrote songs, poems, and stories. He didn't think they were any good, but they were. His words twisted eleqantly to make a meaningful phrase all packed into one certain thing.
He never let anyone read his works. He felt too insecure about his words to let anyone read them. He knew that if he wanted to publish his things he would have to get over his insecurities. Publishing works takes a lot of steps. Pre-writing, fris tdrafts, editing, final drafts and senidng it in. This was the other various writings, Brett was working on late in the Library, when someone appraoched him.

Ivy walked into the library with a book, wanting to find a nice quiet spot to do a bit of quiet reading. There might not be a comfortable chair in the library like there was in the Hufflepuff Common Room, but at least she might get some time to herself. She could do with some time to herself at the moment.
It was late. Maybe Ivy would have been better off retiring to the dormitory, but she didn't want to feel completely alone. Although she needed some time to herself, she also didn't want to feel completely isolated from the world in general.
Ivy made for her favourite spot, where she knew there was actually a comfy chair. Quite a worn one, but comfy all the same. As Ivy approached the spot, she came to an abrupt halt. Brett Thompson was sitting at a table not far from the armchair where she was heading for some solitude.
Ivy thought for a moment and then, on pure impulse, started off towards Brett again, approaching slowly and softly. Brett looked quite engaged in the writing he was doing. From where Ivy was, it looked as though it wasn't an essay, but just private writing. Ivy had experimented with things of the sort, but she always kept them well hidden. From this Ivy guessed that Brett might well be the same.
Unsure what to do now, Ivy stood there a few metres in front of Brett, not wanting to disturb the older boy.

Brett bit his bottom lip as he scratched out a few words. He then saw Ivy stop a few paces away from him. He smiled and looked up.
"Hey Ivy." He said as he sat down and looked at his story. He groaned and shoved it aside.
"Why don't you have a seat?" Brett smiled and waved his hand to the seat across from him.

Ivy smiled and took a seat opposite Brett.
"I hope I didn't interrupt something," she said, glancing at the discarded piece of paper. "I was looking for somewhere cosy to read but some company is better."
Ivy smiled again at Brett. She was glad that he and Kiyla had taken a liking to each other, because she liked Brett too. It could well have been in the way that Kiyla did in a different universe, but she wasn't allowing that. Not in this one. No, she just thought, from the little she had seen of Brett, that he looked like a nice kind of guy. And she trusted him more than Payton.

Brett chuckled.
"No, you weren't interupting anything. Actually, I am kinda glad you did. I would have been working on this all night if you hadn't." He said as he started to stack the papers into a semi-neat pile.
"What are you reading?" He asked, as he looked up and closed a few inkpots.

((Mind if I post?))
Phoebe walked into the library in a rather happy mood which was unusual for her. She didn't even knock over any first years. She smiled to herself as she walked to the back of the room with her magazine tucked in her bag. When she walked over she seen two other students. Both Hufflepuffs but different years.
'Okay back off bad side. Time to make friends... even if they are muggle born or even half. Do it in Tim's honor." She thought to herself as she strolled over to them thinking of her brother. She still loved her brother and he always told Phoebe she should be less... evil to the muggle born students at Hogwarts. Though they were both pureblooded wizards and even thought that Phoebe and her brother were taught that purebloods were better then muggle borns her brother had always thought different and Phoebe wanted to as well.
"Hello, am I interrupting something?" She asked a she approached them with a smile. She wanted to make herself look like a nice person and not want to dismiss her because she was a Slytherin.

Brett watched as a Slytherin girl walked up to them. Surprised he blinked as she talked to them.
"Um no. Not at all. Just talking about reading. Wanna join?" Brett asked, suspisicously. He then made more room for the newcomer and tried to smile, but was very suspicous.

Phoebe nodded and sat down. The boy looked at her suspicously and Phoebe bite her tongue at any harsh comments. She would have to learn to do that more often because her harsh words hurt more people than it helped.
"So what are you guys reading?" She said nicely trying not to sound fake but truely nice.

Justin was walking around in a particularly good mood. He had just had an exemplary Care of Magical Creatures Class. He was heading to the library to do some studying. He said hi to a couple of his friends and said hi to them. He then walked to the library whistling a song called If You Ever Stop Loving Me. He finally reached the library and stopped whistling as he entered the shockingly silent library. He saw some other classmates sitting over at a table and walked over to them. He said " Hi ,may I sit here?"

Jordan walked briskly into the library. Madame Pince gave her a warning look and Jordan smiled.
"Good evening Madame Pince." She said with her sweetest tone. She then headed to the back of the library where she saw a table that looked crowded. There were three people she knew, and one she did not. The more the merrier, she thought.
"Eylo! Hope you dont mind me joining, 'cause it's gonna happen anyway!" Jordan said as she pulled up a chair from another table and set her back down on top of the table she had taken it from.

"City of Masks," Ivy replied to Brett, proferring the book. Just then a Slytherin girl came up to the table and spoke, and Ivy withdrew the untaken book.
Ivy smiled at the Slytherin girl, although slightly unsure of her. Why had she come up? But she seemed quite friendly. All the same, Ivy wasn't as relaxed now as she had been before.
Soon after Justin, a Gryffindor 5th year who Ivy knew by name but not really in person walked up to the table, and then Jordan, who took a seat perched on a nearby table. Ivy smiled at her.
Ivy wondered whether she should say something, but she wasn't comfortable with such large groups of people anyway so she merely smiled at Brett and waited for someone else to say something.

Phoebe watched others arrive. She bit back a nasty comment when a Gryffindor arrived.
'Be tolerant. Don't judge.' Her brothers words came into her mind. She smiled at everyone. She saw a few faces taht didn't look comfortable with her there so her smile faded slightly.
"So... what's up with everyone? I'm Phoebe Xiong, Slytherin, 4th year." She said trying to start a conversation and seem nice. She didn't want them to judge her because she was a Slytgherin but if they wanted to that was their opinion. She sighed inwardly preparing for the worst.
'Just kick me out and get it over with...' She thought to herself.

Jordan tilted her head and looked at the Slytherin.
"Jordan Cortes, Hufflepuff 3rd year, lifetime troublemaker." Jordan said with slight nod in the girl's direction. She then directed her eyes at Ivy who seemed uncomfortable with so many people around them.
"I hate this library. It's too...quiet." Jordan shuddered and looked over her shoulder at Madame Pince. They had quite a history.

Justin looked around and sat down in the seat he had been indicating. He said " Well ,I'm Justin Lionheart Gryffindor fifth year. If you do'nt mind my asking what are ya'lls names?" he said in earnest. He looked around at the three he did'nt know as if indicating them.

Kelsey strode into the Library with her half finsihed Muggle Studies essay and book tucked under her arm. She looked around for an empty table and saw none. She noticed Jordan Cortes and Justin Lionheart immidiatly sitting with a small froup of students. She waved slightly to Madam Pince, and walked over. She kneeled next to Jordan's chair and smiled up at her.
"Well hullo Jordan!" Kelsey smiled warmly and looked around. She shortly waved at Justin and then smiled at Ivy.
"I'm Kelsey Maddison. I think you are in my year," Kelsey said to the boy sitting across from Ivy. He was familiar and Kelsey saw him in the Common Room sometimes.

Amelia sighed as she looked into the fire of her Common Room. She was so very bored! After a few moments of boredom, Amelia decided she coudn't take it anymore and stood, grabbing her favorite Animagus book. She didn't know to go outside and read or go to the Library. Outside seemed the best choice so far, but as she looked out the windows, she remembered how cold it was outside in November. She didn't bring her cloak so that was a big no. She decided on the Library and soon found herself walking inside.
She saw her two best friends, Jordan Cortes and Kelsey Maddison immidiatly and forgot all about thoughts on her book as she almost ran over. She hugged Jordan from behind.
"Hey Jordan!" she said. Kelsey was sitting next to her, obviously crushing on Bret, the Hufflepuff. Amelia winked at her and hugged her also.
"Its so good to finally see you guys!"

Ivy looked around at all the faces. 'Too many people', she thought, shifting uncomfortably in her seat. She couldn't cope with it. 'Too many people, too many people, too many people'.
Ivy gave Jordan a strained smile, although she probably wasn't looking with all the numerous people she knew around her, and with a quiet smile at Brett and Amelia, slipped out of her chair and out of the library. It was unlikely that many of the gathering would even notice.
'How are you ever going to cope if you don't turn round and stare the problem in the face?' Ivy asked herself, as she fumed at herself all the way back to the dormitory.

Kiyla hummed to herself as she walked out of the Hufflepuff common room and down towards the library. She noticed that the common room seemed to be empty of all her friends so she decided to go to the library for some reading.
She had come to the entrance when the door opened and out walked Ivy. She looked upset.
"Hey! What's wrong? You okay?" She said to Ivy with a small worried smile.
"What's going on in there?" She asked looking over Ivy's shoulder truing to see into the library even though the dorr was closed.

Ivy bumped into Kiyla on her way out. 'Great', she thought, 'now my best friend can see just how loony I am.'
'If she hadn't already realised that,' an unhelpful voice offered.
"SHUT UP!" Ivy yelled to herself. After a moment she realised she had just yelled aloud.
Ivy's face instantly went red, and she buried her face in her hands. This was the sort of moments of embarassment when she used to mutter, 'I want my mummy.' There was no point in her doing that any more. Her mummy wouldn't come. Instead, she mumbled to herself, "I wish I wasn't here. I can't cope."
It took a long time, or at least it seemed like a long time, for Ivy to emerge from the relative safety of her hands, her face slightly less red. She looked up, expecting to see Kiyla looking at her in disbelief. Actually, she didn't see that. She couldn't see anything at all. Nothing.
Ivy stumbled off, knocking into Kiyla again, but she didn't notice. She fell over half way down the corridor, tripping over an old suit of armour. Ow. That hurt.
Ivy looked around. She could see. Wow. That was... strange. Ivy felt as though she'd been drinking a bit too much... although she'd never drunk too much anyway. She came from a family of teetotalers. Weird, that.
Gradually Ivy remembered where she was, and she groaned. She tottered to her feet, holding on to the shoulder of the suit of armour. Ivy looked at Kiyla.
"You must think I'm completely barmy," she said, frowning, "and if you do, I think you'd be right."

"Ivy.... are you... alright...?" Kiyla asked Ivy after she watched her... do.. something... strange.
"Are you okay?" Kiyla asked her again as she walked over to her.
