Sapphire walked down to the library. She spent the majority of her time there. Since she spent most of her time alone. It was always quiet, perfect for working and reminded her of just how alone in the world she was. Sapphire smiled bitterly.
Setting her books down in a quiet secluded spot, Sapphire sighed to herself. She did a lot of sighing, she noted, with some amusement, mainly with just the same tiredness of life.
She took out her quill and inkpot. She loved writing with ink. The way it shone on the page as you marked the page. That was what she liked most. A curious fascination, she supposed, a rather irrational one too.
Sapphire sat down and started to work, carefully and methodically, taking care over how she shaped each word. That time her work was always meticulous; the content was good and the presentation was excellent.
Without looking up, Sapphire could feel a presence at her left shoulder. She continued to write as though oblivious, until she came to the end of her sentence, which took about a minute.
Sapphire then looked up over her shoulder, and saw that it was Brett Thompson, a boy in the year above her, who she didn't really know. She'd never talked to him, at any rate.
"Well aren't you going to say hello?" she asked jokingly, pulling out a chair for him and smiling.

Brett entered the library, parchment under his right arm, when he saw Sapphire writing at a table. He had seen her around, but he never really talked to her. He walked over to her,and read over her shoulder. She was good, and she took care in what she wrote.
Sapphire then finished a sentence and looked up at him. He smiled and sat down on the chair she pulled out for him.
"Yeah, i was. Eventually. You just looked really into your writing, and I didn't want to bug you. I know how annoying that can get." Brett answered her question with a smile. He then set down his parchment and looked at the Ravenclaw fourth year.
"What are you writing?" He asked, trying to make small talk.

Sapphire smiled. "Hardly." She paused thinking about Brett's comment. "Why, are you experienced in the area of having been annoyed? I hope I'm not one of the culprits."
Sapphire looked at Brett as he asked her what she was writing. It wasn't a conversation that was going to lead anywhere much, she thought, since the answer was about as boring as it could get. She thought of Professor Binns droning on in his dreary monotone, and yawned.
"History of Magic essay," she replied, showing him. "Nothing special. Explains why I wasn't particularly into what I was writing." Sapphire smiled at Brett. "What did you come to the library for?" she countered. "I see you have parchment too."

"Annoyed. Hmm, I dont know. I just don't like entirely when someone talks to me when I'm trying to write." Brett said with shrug. It was true, he didn't like to be disturbed when he was writing. Anything for that matter. He didn't like being disturbed when he was reading.
"Oh, I came to write also. Only not an essay. Just free write. Although I do have to write an essay. BUt I am pushing that aside as far as possible." Brett answered. He then spread out his parchment and looked at it. Shook his head, and scratched out a few words with the quill he had in his hand.

Sapphire watched Brett, and decided not to continue the conversation on having been disturbed. It wasn't fruitful in any way. Instead she picked up on what he had said he was writing, smiling at what he had said about putting his essay off. It wasn't something she often got an urge to do, but she had experienced it occasionally.
"You're writing for yourself?" she asked. "Like, stories?" She wondered if this was what he was doing. If so they had a similarity.
