She watched Ivy attempted the same charm, and noticed that she got it to lift on the first try. Even though it fell after and Ivy tried again, she decided taht the older girl was very talented.
When Ivy made the comment about putting it into words slightly, she almost started laughing. That was the hard part after all. She was never very good at getting people to understand what she meant about things.
"If I was justing going to write about that, I think I would say that I did the swish-and-flick, said the charm, and then if I am lucky, my quill with levitate. I don't thinksaying just that will earn me very good grades though"

Ivy smiled at Nokomis.
"I think that'd be fine," she said, "we don't have to write very much, I don't think, as long as it's of substance."
Ivy thought for a moment, sucking the end of her quill.
"Well," she said thoughtfully, "what about - Wingardium Leviosa is a levitating spell. It allows ... um ..." Ivy broke off self-conciously looking at Nokomis. "Um... It allows you to levitate stuff. No, don't put that. I give up." Ivy grinned at Nokomis. She hated trying to think of something to write. But she needed to do well in Charms. It was her best subject.
Ivy buried her head in her hands and then looked up again, smiling. She wasn't really serious, but they both needed to get this done. "Ok... I'm going to write the first bit. Wingardium Leviosa ... is the levitating spell. Um... An important thing ... to bear in mind when performing this spell is ... the swish and flick movement. Concentration is vital."
Ivy smiled at Nokomis. "There, that'll do for that bit."

She was scratching her own quill across her parchment when Ivy said that would do for now and she started to laugh. She thought that it was a good start and the begining of her own paper was rather similar, though her centences sounded much more fragmented than Ivy's did.
"I think its a very good start and now we diserve a little study break"

Ivy smiled at Nokomis, turning her full attention to her.
"A study break sounds like an excellent idea. the problem is, what do we do during it?"
Ivy looked out of the window, where the Gryffindor team was practicing on the pitch. She hoped a Bludger didn't fly their way, and then wondered whether the balls were charmed so that they stayed on the pitch and didn't go off and injure any spectators. Ivy dismissed the thought, knowing that she probably would never find out, and then looked back to Nokomis.

She smiled at Ivy when she approved of the idea. Ivy seemed so pretty and smart, making her opinion about things that much more important to the second year. It was them that she noticed Ivy glance out the window, and her own gaze followed. The good thing about her seat in the secluded corner had a great view of the pitch--which was great for someone who thought Quidditch was the best game ever invented and secretly wished to play for the Kenmare Kestrels one day.
"Do you think we will ever be as good as Gryffindor?"

Ivy smiled at Nokomis' question.
"As good as Gryffindor? I should think so. When we're a bit older, and more experienced. After all, we've only just started playing."
Ivy sighed. "Ravenclaw are supposed to be really good though - they have been all the other years, and they have much older Chasers than us. And that's who our next match is against."
Ivy was worried about the match. She was terrified that she would let her team down.

She had been trying not to bring up Ravenclaw, but now that the topic was in the open she thought she was going to be sick. After their pratice everyone was talking about how she was a natural when it came to quidditch, and now she was worried she would let everyone down.
"Valerie told me that I'm going to be the starting chaser"

Ivy smiled at Nokomis encouragingly.
"I'm sure you'll do it well," she said. "You're much more of an athlete than I am, and you did really well in the practice."
Ivy looked out at the Gryffindor team. She would much rather be playing them rather than Ravenclaw. The Chasers weren't quite as much older than them. Amelia was in their year. One of the Beaters was supposed to be really experienced though, and everyone knew that Harry Potter was the best Seeker of all the teams.

She smiled at Ivy's reply, at least someone believed in her. She knew that she had played well in pratice, but she coudln't help but feel it was more dumb luck than anything. She tried to push her negative thoughts aside...again. She needed to stay optomistic, even if Ravenclaw was supose to be the best team in school. She just hoped that everything went well when the actual game came around--almost everyone was still so new to the sport.
"Thanks...You're pretty good too though. Everyone has been working hard."

Ivy sighed.
"We need to work hard. If we don't we'll be thoroughly beaten." she said, sorry to be pessimistic. Still, she knew it was true.
She smiled at Nokomis as she brightened up a little. "Still, we are all trying and in time... we can do well."
Ivy pondered quietly how she'd got onto the team. There had been so many spaces for new players. That was why all of Nokomis, Kiyla and Ivy were Chasers on the team. They would have to work together in the match, if they were going to manage anything.

Gerru entered the library humming some tune under her breath. A quick scan over the library showed that there weren't many seats open. Next to a Slytherin, who scowled at everyone who looked at her way, was one open seat, but Gerru decided she didn't want anyone to spoil her good mood. The other open seat was next to two Hufflepuff's so GErru moved towards them and stopped at their table. "Hi, I'm sorry to interrupt, but may I sit here? I really need to finish my homework for Herbology,"Gerru asked with a smile.

She was caught off guard by the new person, and she looked up at him, rather suprised. She nodded slightly to the new person before looking down again.
"Its okay...I have to go anyway."
She looked over at Ivy, managing a weak smile before she started to slide her books and quill back into her faded blue bag.
"I will see you later Ivy?"

Ivy looked up in surprise at the girl. This corner had been very peaceful but... oh well. Nokomis left soon after that. Ivy knew that she probably wouldn't feel comfortable with too many people there. She returned her smile, which Ivy noticed looked rather strange.
"Yep, I'll talk to you later." she confirmed.
Ivy continued to work in silence for a while, not glancing up at the new girl. About quarter of an hour later, she had finished her Charms homework.
"See you," Ivy said to the girl, smiling in a friendly way, although she doubted she would ever actually see her again. Ivy then left the library and made her way back to the Common Room.
