Dana was in an awesome mood, as she hummed some quick beat song that didn’t seem to get out of her head, even though she didn’t have a clue what the song is. She walked through some completely empty hallways, like she had done for a good half an hour already and she was already willing to laugh at the irony of it. Dana was completely lost.
Reaching a cross-road of two hallways, Dana pulled out a coin and threw it up in the air for a moment. “If tails, then the left corridor, if heads, then the right,” Dana told the coin before flipping it. The coin landed on the floor with tails up.
“Tails,” Dana muttered as she picked the coin up again, twirled on heel and went into the right corridor after glancing at the left one. Singing the only lines she knew of the song out loudly: “My daddy was a wild one when he was younger Everybody told my mama he'd be hard to tame Full of himself he said 'sir' to nobody But you oughta see him come a runnin' when mama calls his name”
With one more twirl, that caused her skirt flare out Dana walked down the right hallway looking around the strange surroundings. “As nice as the castle is I’d really like to know where I am now,” Dana said rather loudly staring ahead of her and sighing staring at an rather grotesque statue of an old witch.
Dana sighed and looked around her, when she heard footsteps and saw someone approaching from the direction she had came from. Not caring who it might be, Dana rushed to meet the comer: "Hey, sorry to disturbe you, but I've been lost at these hallways for at least half an hour and it is getting a little annoying. Think you could show me a way out of here?"

Faith laughed.
"So you're the mysterious singer!" She said when she approached Dana, "Sorry. I can't help, I'm afraid I'm as lost as you are! My mind was wandering a bit."
Faith smiled to her self. No suprise, really, she was always having concentration lapses. Paying attention wasn't exactly her strong point.
She had followed the voice to find help, it was pretty typical that she'd met a person who had as little idea where they were as she was. Life could be pretty unfair sometimes...
"I'm Faith Oraco by the way," Faith said, grinning at the stranger, "Gryffindor. Third year. What were you singing?"

“You’re lost too?” Dana burst out laughing, “Oh, this is rich! At least we are lost together now, which makes it much more interesting. I’m Dana Coran. Ravenclaw and fifth year.”
“What I was singing – I don’t really know what that song is. I know the lyrics and the tune and I just can’t get it out of my head. I don’t even know who has sang it,” Dana explained with a smile and a careless shrug, “It has been turning around and around and around in my head for the whole day! It is kind of getting annoying though. I couldn’t even concentrate correctly in class.”
Dana looked at the hallway on both sides of her: “So – what do you figure which way we should go? Or should we flip a coin – I did at the cross-road of the hallways.”
"Flip a coin I reckon," Faith decided, "If we could find a window, then we might be able to get an idea of where we are."
She peered down the corridor.
"Tails left, heads right? That's my tradition," Faith smiled.
She was very glad to have met Dana, or it would be the second time she was late for afternoon lessons in a week. Besides she seemed really nice and two heads were definitley better than one...

“Tails left heads right. Works for me,” Dana shrugged pulling the coin from her pocket once again and throwing it up with a smile, watching as it sent of a slight glint, as the torch-light hit it just correctly.
“Are you hurrying to some class now?” Dana asked as the coin flew in the air and tilted her head, “I have a free period right now, so I’m not in much of a hurry, but you?”
Dana looked down as the coin hit the floor with a light noise and bowed to pick it up and show Faith which way had landed up: “So on we go with this little exploration trip!”
Faith peered at the coin.
"Tails never fails," She grinned, and, slinging her bag further up her shoulder and tucking a stray strand of blonde hair behind her ear, she set off down the left corridor.

Dana stayed put, until she had placed the coin back into her pocket, before catching up with Faith. “Do you happen to know which floor we are on? I think it’s some upper floor, but I’m not sure,” Dana asked curiously glancing at a portrait they passed, “I don’t have a clue how I managed to get so lost.”
“I used to do this a lot in my first years, when I looked for short-cuts to get to class-rooms, but by now I’ve pretty much secured the best short-cuts, so I manage to walk around quite nicely. Except today’s unfortunate occasion of course,” Dana grinned at Faith cheerily, “So how come you ended up here? Looking for a short-cut, changing stairs or something else?”
"Wrong turn," Faith admitted, smiling sheepishly, "I was coming back from Ancient Runes and I think I must've gone wrong somewhere because I had no idea where I was when I looked up. My own fault really, I was reading while I was walking."
Faith took out the book in question from her bag. It was a slim volume, covered in scarlet leather and with the words , 'Ancient Runes : A Study By Ephraim Gildenbower'.
" Trying to revise for a test tommorrow," Faith said, sighing slightly, "But it's in one ear, out the other with me. I suppose you're different though, being a Ravenclaw and all..."

“The fact that I’m a Ravenclaw doesn’t mean I don’t have to study and study hard often,” Dana answered. Why did so many people think that being in Ravenclaw automatically made you smart? “I think I was sorted there mainly because I love to read and usually can recall what I have read abut something. Besides I’m not very brave which rules out Gryffindor, nor cunning and sly enough for Slytherin. And Hufflepuff just doesn’t really suit my personality.”
“Ancient runes?” Dana took the book Faith had brought out and skimmed it briefly, before handing it back, “I don’t take that class. It always seemed rather hard though. Is it really very complicated?”

"Ish," Faith shrugged, putting the book back in her bag, "I didn't mean anything by the studying thing by the way. Sorry. I don't really think sometimes. No tact."
Faith smiled in a good-natured sort of way. They had nearly reached the end of the corridor, it took a fork right where it ended. They rounded the bend and saw something on the left wall.
"Finally!" Faith exclaimed, rushing over to peer out of the open window.

“It’s alright. It’s just that some people think that since I’m a Ravenclaw I must automatically be smart, when I myself know how much I still have to study for everything,” Dana said brushing the topic off, with a light smile.
“A window!” Dana cried happily as well, quickly following Faith to the window and peeking out, “Mmmm… we are rather high. It seems to be the southern area of the castle though, as I can see the Ravenclaw tower.”
