Kat was finishing her breakfast, when the owls flew into the Great Hall. Star dropped a red Howler in front of her, causing Kat to raise an eye-brow in question. How on earth had Jake – her muggle brother- managed to write a completely magical letter to her?
Kat handed her bacon to Star, who nibbled it and then flew off again, as Kat opened the Howler. A somewhat of a hologram appeared from the letter and Jake smirked down at Kat, while levitating over the RAvenclaw table. Certainly a new trick for a Howler.
“Rather cool, eh? Well, I showed the Weasley twins what holograms are and they experimented a little, but were able to add my hologram to this Howler,” Jake’s voice boomed over the Great Hall still, as a lot of people were staring at him Kat noted amusedly. Kat didn’t blame them – Jake’s hair were in a pony-tail, he was wearing black pants and a shirt with a black leather-jacket and leather boots, with iron nose. The cat-eyes contact-lenses didn’t exactly soften the image either, as Jake continued talking:"They also added a little trick to the end. It’s cool, but I certainly paid more than enough for it. Hope you’re getting along fine with friends as well as grades. Anyway – to more important topics.”
Jake stepped closer and crouched down glaring at Kat and his voice turned even louder: “You DYED your hair! If you can’t change it back THIS INSTANT, I will lock you into some room, with only a one little window and shave off all your hair, until it grows back to it’s original length with the original color!”
The hologram and original letter disappeared with a puff of smoke and Kat reached forward and caught a little silver rose, that fell from the smoke-cloud, with a smirk. This was just like her brother.
Kat attached the flower to her hair and walked over to the Gryffindor table, where she sat down next to Lily and grinned at her: “Well, guess my brother received the pictures of me with red-hair. And judging by his reaction, the prank worked. Thanks for the idea and help!”
Kat grabbed a red apple from a fruit-basket and bit into it with a grin, waiting for Lily’s response.

Lily sat in awe at the calmness of her friend for a moment. Then she spoke. "I-I can't believe you are being so calm about this. He freaked out. He's is going to KILL you. Are you sure he has no way of getting here so he can shave all ur hair off? And will he be mad at you for playing the prank? Will he be mad at me? Oh, I hope not...although I really would like to meet him eventually. He is rather cute. But...I hope..." Kat stopped her in mid-sentence.

Kat held up her hand and laughed loudly, stopping Lily in mid-sentence. “That was my brother – we are really close. He would rather die, than harm me in any way. That was rather just for teasing. Hey, he’s a regular costumer at both Weasley shop and Zonkos. He’s the one, who blew up one room with dung-bombs. I’m in no trouble in any way.”
“And, no, neither are you. My brother and cute – well, that usually isn’t the first thing people usually say about him, but guess it is true in a way,” Kat grimaced at the thought, “And you are welcomed to come by any time. The house certainly is big enough.”
Kat shook her head still grinning: “Everything is absolutely fine. No harm what so ever, and Jake probably got a good laugh out of it. He did wink me, before the letter turned into the rose, although only I was able to see it. So what plans do you have for today, if you don’t mind me asking?”
Well, I figured I would write home and then I dunno. Look around the castle a bit more. See what more troubl I can come up with to get into. You wanna join me?"

“Look around the castle – sounds cool. Mind if I join you?” Kat bit into the apple once again and finished the mouthful before continuing.
“Trouble? When have I been able to say no to trouble?” Kat winked mischievously at Lily and finished the apple while moving into a more comfortable sitting position, paying no attention to the fact that she was sitting in the Gryffindor table,” Do you have anything certain in mind already? Or will we just go and see what comes along?”
"Well, I was just going to go wandering. Do you know of any cool places?" Lily grabbed an apple and started munching. "And, by the way, have you seen Jordan lately?"

“It’s Hogwarts. There isn’t much you can’t find from here,” Kat replied coolly, pondering for a moment what Lily might like, “There’s always the Room of Requirement, the kitchen some rather unfamiliar hallways and rooms and chambers around here, where nobody never goes to. Except for me, when I wander around. There’s a music chamber, Divination chamber with Tarot cards and books and all things that fit it for example. The possibilities seem to be endless.”
Kat shrugged: “As weird as it may sound to you, I actually get along to some point with Peeves. He still plays pranks on me, but they are friendlier and he has showed me around a little. That in addition to talking to portraits and reading Hogwarts: A History has made the basic outlining of the castle and grounds quite familiar to me.”
“Jordan – no, haven’t really seen her lately. We aren’t in the same house though, so I’m not really worried. I’m sure she’ll turn up at one point of an other,” Kat said glancing towards the ceiling, which displayed a soft rain falling.

Lily grinned. "The music chamber sounds interesting. I would like to see the other places, too. What is the Room of Requirement again?" Lily had finished her apple by this time, and followed Kat's gaze to the ceiling, which was pouring rain at this point.

“Music chamber. I just like to call it that. It has all kinds of musical instruments there – a piano, drums, guitars, violins, harfs – you name it,” Kat grinned thinking of it, “I always wonder, why none of those people around here, that sing and play instruments don’t go there. Or maybe they just don’t know about it. I mean it is in a pretty secluded part.”
“The Room of Requirement. Well, it appears, only if you stand in front of the tapestry and wish for something three times, then enter. The room grants your wishes there. If you wish for somewhere to sit, then a couch and armchairs appear, if you want a butterbeer, it will appear. It’s absolutely perfect, if you need some peace and quiet to study or do whatever.”
Lily liked the idea of the music room, but Kat's description of the Room of Requirement was intrigueing her. She could have TEXTanything that she wanted? "Hmm...okay. Why don't we go and just see where we end up. It is all so interesting."

“Yeah, the whole school is great. Well, the school without the disappearing steps and trick hallways with booby-traps in them,” Kat answered with a shake of her head, “And of course Filch and mrs.Norris aren’t really my favorites either.”

Lily had heard the name Filch before. "Yeah, sounds like someone that I wouldn't want to run into and the one cat that I could really dislike." Lily picked up another piece of fruit and began munching. "So, where shall we go, then?"

"There's always the one way that never fails. Tossing a coin and according to whether heads or tails fells up, we choose hte direction where to start towards," Kat explained with a conspiratory grin and a wink, "I often used it. Especially if I got lost in the beginning of the school-year, when I got lost. So what do you think - shall we do that, or do you have any better idea?"

Lily grinned. "Heads or tails sounds good. Either way, the ntire thing is gonig to get looked over anyway, right?"
