Kris was in a horrifying mood, as he strolled down the hallway towards the library. Most people around the school really grated his nerves. Especially those little red Gryffs, who always had to be that ‘noble’ and ‘sacrificing’. Even the mere thought of them made him scowl darkly. Kris was about to pass a group of nervously giggling first years and one that looked a little pale. As the pale-looking boy thrust his leg out in the last moment possible, in an attempt to trip Kris, he froze in surprise for a moment. Did the kid really have that big of a death-wish?
Kris had been able to stop just an inch from the boys out-stretched leg – he had almost subconsciously kept an eye on the group, as their giggling had made him wary. “Did you just threaten me?” Kris asked in a deadly voice, turning and grabbing the boy by his arm, as he turned to make a run for it. Kris slammed him rather harshly in the wall, mentally noting, that the boy would certainly get a bruise on his head, from the impact. The giggling first-years stopped abruptly and the boy that Kris held on his tip-toes against the wall swallowed nervously as he stuttered out: “We… we… we were just playing truth or dare!” “Do I look like I care?” Kris’s voice was a threatening hiss as his eyes were narrowed into slits, “I can take this as an attack to me and return the favor.” The boy gulped nervously as Kris’s hold on him strengthened and he glanced lower to see the boy’s house – he was much stronger than the first year. A Hufflepuff – figures for the sheer dumbness of attacking a ‘snake’.
“I will reply the favor, be sure of it. And when I’m finished with you, you’ll wish you had never even heard of that silly little game and never seen my face,” Kris warned letting the boy go abruptly, having no doubt that he would support a bruise on his arm also. Kris pulled out his wand and cursed the boy with large boils. The boy sunk to sit on the hallway floor, as Kris put his wand away: “This won’t be the last you hear of me.” With one last menacing glare at the other first years who were gaping in horror at their friend, Kris turned on his heel and strode away.
Kris scowled even more darkly, feeling rather glad, there hadn’t been any professors in the hallway – he would have cursed the first year in anyway, but he still didn’t fancy a detention in any way. He rounded a corner and had took just a couple of steps, when he felt someone tap his shoulder lightly. “What?” Kris snapped harshly, turning around and grabbing the person’s wrist. Kris blinked, releasing the person calmly and getting a cold look, which didn’t let anything to be read out of it, as he looked down on the third year Slytherin. “Mary,” Kris greeted silkily.

It was Friday evening and Mary was wandering the halls with nothing to do. She knew where she was for a change, but that makes no difference when you have nowhere to go. She was about to go down to the common room and be bored there when she saw Kris huffing down the stairs looking deadly. Creeping up behind him she contemplated jumping on his back, but did not fancy being squished against a wall so she decided to tap him on the shoulder instead. He grabbed her wrist and nearly twisted her hand off as he turned around. Of course he released it the moment he saw who it was. “Krissy bear, I only wanted to say hello.” Mary said using her favourite nickname for him while rubbing her wrist and pouting up at him. Releasing her wrist she smiled at him and gave him a kiss on the cheek, as was their custom. Mary could not remember how it started but it had most certainly stuck. Kris was her friend Dana’s cousin and that is how she really started talking to him. She often played go between because he feared being seen with a Ravenclaw and yet they were still friends and needed to speak to each other. Somehow with all the running around she and Kris had become quite close as well and now Dana would occasionally play go between for them when she was seeing him and Mary was not. The three had almost created their own little circle of friends that nobody could know about. “Something wrong honey?” she asked, not really concerned since he was often in a bad mood for no apparent reason. Linking his arm in hers she led him toward the kitchen; if he had plans she knew he would stop her. Implied consent had always seemed to apply with them; they never truly asked each other what to do they simply did as they wished and if the other had a problem with it they would be fine announcing it. When they reached the kitchen Mary tickled the pear and opened the door. She then told a house elf to get them some chocolate in addition to some cookies and brownies. It was brought forward promptly; Mary thanked the elf and offered some to Kris. They then left the kitchen treats in hand and found the empty dungeon classroom they often used as a meeting place with Dana. Sitting down Mary began to eat glad to be spending time with Kris. ((Hey ok this was how I interpreted his and Dana’s relationship but I can change it if I’m wrong. And if you don’t like anything about the relationship I gave him and Mary let me know and I can change that too. Also I left a lot of time for him to tell Mary what’s wrong but if you feel like changing it to say they made small talk I am fine with that. Finally I figured we would sit and talk for a bit before going to reek havoc just so we can get to know Kris a bit first ok? Let me know )

“Hello, Mary, hope I didn't hurt you,” Kris let Mary kiss his cheek and let her drag him to the kitchen without any objections, with just one complaint about the nickname she had used, "Do I really look like a teddy-bear to you?" He rather liked the younger girl’s company. She was the only one in school, who knew that he and Dana were cousins and rather close friends and had often played ‘owl’ between them. It wasn’t as if Kris and Dana held their relation in secret. They just didn’t tell it to people from the first moment, but they would answer truthfully to a direct question. It was just that Dana sometimes helped Kris a little with class work, as he liked to skive class. And Kris wouldn’t get caught dead when someone would discover the fact Dana somewhat tutored him a bit. That was why they usually met at a clearing in the Forbidden Forest for that.
Kris accepted the cup of cappuccino, the house-elf had already known to bring him rather gratefully and pulled a cookie with peanuts and chocolate chips from the plate. “Those little gryffs annoy the fell out of me,” Kris answered leaning back in his chair and taking a sip of the cappuccino, “And some Hufflepuff first years were playing ‘Truth or dare’. One of those idiots accepted a dare and tried to trip me in the hallway just now. I didn’t fall, but probably caused him two rather nasty bruises and hexed him.” Kris bared his teeth in a malicious mood, thinking back to what had happened.
“Promised him it wouldn’t be all he’d see of me because of it, but I don’t really have any ideas what to do to him yet,” Kris shrugged and finished off the cookie calmly, “Any suggestions? This school could really use lessons in discipline.”
((Nah, it's great. Don't change it))

Mary giggled as Kris apologized for hurting her and asked if he really looked like a teddy bear. “Yes one of those old beat up ones that everyone has when they are two. Until their mothers ‘take them to the cleaners’ and they are never seen again.” Mary joked with him.
Mary listened to Kris tell her about annoying Gryffies and a bunch of Hufflepuffs playing truth or dare. He asked what she though could be done about the little boy who tried to trip him. Mary thought about it for a second and then started laughing. “Well I did always enjoy Filch’s idea to have them hanging by their ankles whenever he didn’t mean me.” She got out between giggles. “Oh I don’t know Krissy Bear; you know I have no problem with the other houses. They really aren’t bad when they are not on guard. Its just when you go stomping around scaring them, making them think you will hex them into oblivion that they cease being agreeable. You are right though, they do need to respect their others, and learn not to mess with Slytherins who are willing to hex them into oblivion; for their own good.” Mary said while eating a brownie.

“Well, I have no problem hexing someone into oblivion, especially if they try to trip me!” Kris bared his teeth in an angry growl, “And if they’d just keep their distance while I’m in a rotten mood enough to curse them into the previous century, they’d be fine. But the boy just had to go and tick me off some more.”
Kris sighed and picked up a brownie once again and started to eat it: “Otherwise the other houses are bearable. Especially Ravenclaw, although that might be prejudice talking in me.”
Kris tilted his chair back, so it swung on it’s two legs and propped his feet on the corner of the table, crossing them at his ankles. “So where were you heading, before finding a personal, life-sized teddy-bear to accompany you in the hallways? And you can be assured that I won’t be taken to the cleaners nor pushed into a washing machine for a very long time,” Kris said with mirth appearing in his eyes without him trying to shield it, “SO you will have to put up with me for a quite long time still.”
Mary giggled as Kris said that he would hex them into oblivion. What was most funny was that she knew it was true. She had had the misfortune of seeing Kris upset before; needless to say it was not a pleasant experience for the boy who had got in the way. Mary closed her eyes in delight as she took a bite from a chocolate chip cookie off the plate; it was absolutely divine, chewy and warm. “Well you can always send him to the next dimension. Now, we snack.” She said with a grin while finishing the cookie.
“Yes. You are bias.” Mary said bluntly to Kris’ comment about Ravenclaws. “You can find great people in every house and horrid ones in every house as well. It all depends on the individual Kris, you should know that by now.” Mary seldom wasted her breath defending the other houses with her fellow Slytherins; but she knew Kris agreed with her despite his act. She knew he would not be such good friends with Dana if he really did believe the whole Slytherins are above everybody else thing.
“I was on my way to find a cute boy to talk to. But then I accidentally ran into you instead. So you’re half of what I was looking for, but you’re the cousin of a friend so you will do.” Mary said with a flirtatious grin. “What plans have you for the day Kris?” she then asked him.

Kris didn’t comment on Mary’s words about people form other houses. He was thinking the same in most lines, knowing that there were great people in all houses and he wasn’t a very big fan of all Slytherins either. Besides Mary knew he had the same view-point for the most part.
“Cute? Please, I’m NOT cute. Dashingly handsome – I can live with that. But cute – only kittens and teddy-bears are cute!” Kris paused for a second thinking back at his last statement and grimaced, “Then again, as you are so convinced I’m a teddy-bear, then maybe I am cute as well.”
“Plans for today. Well, I was going to return Dana’s book on advanced charms. It had some rather amusing ideas in it. One was to put on a doorframe at parties, so when someone enters through the door-way, his or hers clothes will look like something that symbolizes the persons mood, character and thoughts. However the person himself won’t notice the change on his own clothes,” Kris came a quick review and finished his drink, handing the cup to a house-elf that had appeared at his side, “I thought about putting it up over the Great Hall doors whenever the next party will be coming up.”
“Otherwise I didn’t really have any plans. Just go and see what would come along. Maybe stir things up a bit and annoy someone out of his or hers mind,” Kris shrugged grabbing a hand-full of grapes some house-elf carried by and throwing one into his mouth, “But now, that you have ‘stumbled’ upon me, I’ll play your adorably cute teddy-bear, follow you around and annoy you until the evening or until I get a better idea.”
Mary giggled as her comment about Kris being half of what she was looking for went over his head. She had meant he fulfilled the male portion, but if he would rather be cute than be a guy that was no concern of hers. He then told her about a charm he had found to change someone’s clothes according to their mood and personality. “I saw it would be perfect to put on the Great Hall for breakfast every morning. See how everyone is feeling that day.” Mary said with a grin.
“Aww thank you Mr. Bear for choosing to waste your day on me” Mary said with a flirtatious grin. “Only problem is… what should we do today? Hmm hmm hmm.” Mary then finished the last cookie on the plate and began passing the classroom. It was very cold down there because they were in the dungeons but not near as bad as Mary knew it could get so she wasn’t complaining. ‘You would think through the years someone would have put a warming charm on this school so it would never get like this’ she thought pacing up and down through the desks.
She began drawing on the blackboard with her wand. First she made a piece of cheese, next came a mouse who walked up and ate the cheese, then a cat who captured the mouse and swallowed it whole, a dog then came strolling onto the board and he barked and scared the cat behind a barn which showed up out of no where. Mary laughed at her drawing as a boy came up, pet the dog, and then swatted him away behind the barn as well. The boy then dragged his sister onto the scene and they danced around in a circle for no reason. Mary laughed and looked over at Kris. “Any ideas Krissy bo?” she asked.

“How could a day spent with a beautiful girl ever be a waste of time?” Kris asked Mary back with the same flirtatious tone she had used and a wink. Kris watched as Mary paced the class-room and smiled. Mary wasn’t very fond of the cold, unlike Kris, so Kris shrugged off his cloak and threw it over her shoulders, as she turned away from the black-board after drawing there: “Don’t catch a cold.”
Kris liked chillier weather, despite the fact, he lived in the rather warm Italy, so the black pants and green blouse, which were both made out of the finest silk, were enough for him. Kris looked at the black-board, where the girl and the boy were still dancing around madly and standing up, he slipped an arm around Mary’s waist, twirling her around for a moment, before placing her feet back on ground.
“Well, princess, we can always throw a ball, annoy random people in the hall-ways. Especially Hufflepuffs,” Kris growled lightly, peeing still a little irritated about what had happened earlier, “Or think up an amusement.”
Kris walked to the door and opened it looking out into the hall-way and pondering a moment. Raising his wand he muttered a quick charm, changing the clothes and hairs of three girls – one from Gryffindor and two from Hufflepuffs. The girls shrieked and hurried off to the nearest bath-room.
Kris chuckled lightly watching them. The Gryffindor now had purple hair and a red and green clown-pants, a neon-yellow blouse and a huge clown-shoes. One of the Hufflepuffs had rainbow-colored hair and a tunic, like ancient Romans used to wear, except this one was a horrid puke-green and brown. And the third girl now supported pink hair and a huge red-dress that resembled a tent. “Now I’m in a better mood as well,” Kris said with a smirk, turning back to Mary.

Mary smiled up at Kris as he draped his cloak around her shoulders. She hugged it close to her and breathed in the subtle scent of him she had come to know so well. She giggled watching her creations dance on the board enjoying the sudden warmth provided by Kris’ cloak. Next thing she knew she was being swung in the air before Kris placed her on the ground and suggested either throwing a ball or annoying people. “Well the ball would be too much bother I think. Lets just go annoy people, less effort than making then happy.” Mary responded with a smirk.
She followed Kris out in the hall and watched as he changed the clothing of a few girls. She bit her lip and ducked back into the classroom dragging him with her. She then slammed the door and locked it so the girls wouldn’t be able to find out who did it. As soon as the door shut she burst out into hysterical laugher remembering the looks of horror on the girls’ faces as they realized what had happened. Not to mention the outfits themselves were certainly something to laugh at on their own. “Well I do have to say Krissy you do have marvellous taste in clothing.” She said giving him a wink.
Mary then peaked out the door and saw the hall was once again abandoned. “Leave the plate the houseelves will know to come get it” she said to Kris even though she knew it wasn’t necessary to be said. She then stepped out of the class and walked briskly up the steps into the front hall. Once there she noticed a group of first year Gryffindor girls huddled together giggling and blushing. She grabbed Kris’s hand and dogged into a dark corridor where they could hear the girls and hopefully not be seen. She then put her finger on her lips to indicate to him not to make a sound and pointed to the girls before winking and moving closer to hear better.

“Well, you know the saying. Let an Italian dress you and you can never go wrong,” Kris answered with irony and smirked at Mary, “The hair-styles should hold for a couple of days at least though, so I’m eager to see, if they’ll find some other outfits to go with them.”
Kris raised an eye-brow to Mary’s back about leaving the plate – he hadn’t had the slightest of intentions to take the plate back. He had three of his own house-elves back at his manor, so he was used to ordering the creatures around. Kris refrained from a comment though, as Mary most probably knew the un-necessity of her statement.
Kris followed Mary down the hallways sneering at some random students on the way, before Mary grabbed his hand and dragged him off to a shadowed corner. Kris sent a questioning glance to Mary, who put her finger to her lips and gestured towards a group of first year Gryffindors giggling over something. “If it’s some spoiled muggle actor, the Wonder-kid or Lockhart, I’ll send a Howler to their parents and curse them to look like their idols.” Kris shuddered at the mind-picture that came to him: “Then again, it would be horrifying to have about 10 copies of the Wonder-kid Potter running around.”
Kris didn’t really have anything personal against Potter, as he didn’t even know him, but he wasn’t too fond of him either, nor with the idea of actually getting to know him. He sometimes did wonder how Potter managed to not hex those annoying members of his ‘fan-club’.
Abandoning the thought as quickly as it came as the topic wasn’t interesting really, Kris turned his head to listen what the Gryffindors were squeeling and giggling about.
