Cass paced up and down in front of the doors of the Great Hall. She wasn't really sure if the girl would answer her note and meet her here, but she knew she was looking pretty stupid if she didn't.
She had met Elina in the library, and really had something to give her. However, Cassandra was really punctial, and Elina seemed to be a little late. She looked at her watch, and looked down the hallway again. She saw nothing.
Goodness, I hope she is coming! she thought to herself.

Elina would have been on time, if it hadn't been for that dreadful cat that had jumped on her and ruined her shirt. Ceiuci was getting to be more bothersome everytime she saw her. Even though Ceiuci was only a kitten, Elina was only a teenager, but that didn't give her an excuse to the way she would act if she had decided upon rebelling. She rounded the corner to find Cass already waiting at the Great Hall's doors, and smiled apologetically at the Gryffindor. Normally, Elina was on time and this time was no exception. She would be severely angry with herself later on, and push herself to be punctual in later appointments.
"Hello, Cass. How long have you been waiting? I hope I'm not too late. Ceiuci was being a pill as usual. Spilled ink all over my nicely pressed blouse." Elina apologized whole-heartedly and reached Cass with a smile in greeting as well. Elina was slightly tired, not having a lot of sleep would do that to her. She had been studying a lot lately, and she hoped that some way that didn't show through her posture. She was always someone who had to be perfect. Many called her a perfectionist, but then again, many never met her before.

" I haven't been waiting long. Besides, I have nowhere to go. I just hated standing out here and looking wierd. I just wanted to give you something," Cass smiled at the girl.
She held out her hand and gave her two of her all time favoriate books. The Great Gatsby and Uncle Tom's Cabin. ( All 654 pages and unabridged to boot!"
" We talked about these that evening in the library. I thought you would enjoy them."

Elina smiled as she took the books graciously from Cass. She looked at the cover and fingered the binding tenderly before looking up once more and smiling. She opened the cover of Uncle Tom's Cabin and read a sentence or two. She then closed it again and looked at Cass with a twinkle in her eye.
"I'll have these back to you soon, they look rather interesting. And since I've finished To Kill A Mockingbird, I have nothing to read now." Elina thanked Cass and tucked the books away in her messenger bag. She closed the flap and then looked up at the girl who had been so kind to her. Pushing some of her brown hair out of her eyes and leaned against the wall. Not really wanting to leave just yet.
"How's your evening been?" She asked in a friendly voice. Elina looked at the clock and sighed seeing that it was nearing curfew, and since she wasn't one to break the rules, Elina would probably leave soon. Or maybe, their conversation would be so heated that Elina and Cass found an empty classroom, and continued their conversation there. But, then again, maybe not.

" Awful. I'm not much of a divination fan. It seems all really flighty to me, but apparently I'm in that class. Then my potion was awful in Snape's class today, and did I mention I got tripped up by a couple of first years trying to get down in the common room today," Cass laughed at herself. Her moaning almost sounded funny to herself.
" However, my cousin sent me this series of muggle fantasy books called Dragonlance. They are really quite refreshing. It's about this group of friends who are trying to find this lance that kills the evil dragons that took over the world. It's really adorable. I"m finishing up a Tolstoy book right now. He's really amazing with all the strong women he potrays in his novels."

"Divination is a terrible class, though, I bet that if she didn't have it so stuffy and wasn't so airheaded, it wouldn't be half bad. I'm rather good with potions though, next time you have a potion essay I suggest you find me. And the first years tripping you, well, nothing I can say about that, except remember what it was like being in first year." Elina commented with a slight air of laughter. She remembered how awful Divination had been the first time she had taken it. She did enjoy palmistry though.
"Really, those do sound interesting. I wonder if I can get a hold of a copy or two. I like those types of books." Elina thought aloud, her blue eyes searching the back of her mind for any sign of having read the books before, she pulled a blank before turning back to Cass with a slight shrug of her shoulders.

" It's no problem. You can borrow them when I'm done. There is about 7 of them he sent. They tend to be a little wierd at times. But, I always wonder if those authors are really wizards in disguise. Sometimes, they just get it so right. But, sometimes they get it all wrong too," she bit her lip thinking about that thought. She had grown up on fantasy novels, reading about the elves, the dragons, Merlin, Morgana La Fey, and all those people and creatures that built up her imagination. Of course, she was the most surprised of all when her Hogwarts letter arrived. To think, all those things she had put her faith in were really there. She always believed magic existed, but it was just like religion, you had to put your faith in it.
" You don't want to read Tolstoy though. It's incredibly boring. However, I think you would like Pere Goriot, but I think its at home. I could have my family send it to me. I bought it earlier in the year, but I try to send them home as I collect them so my trunk won't be incredibly heavy when I pack up to leave in the summer."

"7 of them? Wow, interesting. I must borrow them. And I know what you mean by wizards in disguise. There are times where people seem to be right on track about this world, but then they say something and they are totally off track. Stereotypes seem to be a big issue during this era as well, I mean, if it wasn't for Halloween...Muggles wouldn't believe that Witches were green and had warts. Right?" Elina pondered with a tilt of her head and a look of amusement and bewilderment on her face and in her eyes.
"And yes, your trunk would be extremely heavy if you kept all of your books here, now wouldn't it?" Elina laughed at Cass's last comment and fiddled with a loose string on her blouse. She had changed out of the ink stained one in a rush, and hadn't noticed she had put on a fraying shirt. She sighed and glanced up at Cass, then at the clock...wondering what would happen if they were caught out past curfew.

Cass did notice that Elina had looked at the clock. She wasn't worried about curfew. She wasn't worried about getting in trouble. This was year, and as long as she didn't get suspended she wasn't going to worry about it.
Cass laughed, " It's already heavy enough with all the shopping I've done at Hogsmeade this year. But, you know, I'm not really worried about it. Maybe I'll find some strapping hunk to carry my trunk to the car for me when I get home. I'm sure my cat Ringo wouldn't mind. He would just hiss at him while he did it."
