A Class in Kendo ( Kris and Pyro)

[Cassandra Blackfire G7]

Cass was half dressed in her Gi. She had removed the jacket that held her belt an hour ago and replaced it with a white tank top. The Room of Requirment was perfect for Kendo. She ran across a year earlier when she wanted a place to practice. The door literally just appeared and....well, it was perfect. It was filled with all different sizes of sticks to use. The floor was nearly all covered by a mat, except for the edges. A large mirror also stood at the end of the room where you could see your stance.

She had sent an owl to Pyro and Kris this morning stating the same thing. Good Morning, boys. Pyro-bring your Gi. Kris-You can bring one also, but I'm not sure your into that sort of thing. The note followed for directions how to get to and how to get into the room.

She layed her Kendo stick on the rack of them and began to stretch on the mat. She had been in here for almost an hour. She had been trying to get away from her dorm mates for a little while now.

She honestly did not know how good Pyro was at Kendo, and she didn't care. She just wasn't going to let him win. Kris would just flash that winning smile at her, and then she would probably let him win.

All she had to do now was to wait for the to show up.

Pyro steped into the common room and went up to his dorm. He didnt see the owl sitting on his bed so he almost crushed it with his bag. The owl hooted and fluttered its wings at him in anger. "Hmm?" he noticed the note attached to the owl and picked it off. He unfolded it and read it.

"Bring my Gi?" he mumbled to himself as he droped the letter to the bed. The owl was still sitting there. "Shoo!' he waved a arm at it and it flew off. he reached under his bed and rumaged around and finaly brought out a bag. Inside the bag was all his kendo equipment. He slung the bag over his shoulder and exited the dorm and common room.

He found the corrider easily enough. 'ok' He thought. 'I need a place to do kendo'. He turned and looked at the wall to suddenly find a door there. He opend it and entered the room and spotted Cass there. he looked around at the room in wonder. "wow,cool Place you got here cass. So whats going on?"

Cass was rather surprised at his sudden arrival. She couldn't help it. She didn't hear him come in.

" I can't let you get one up on me. So, you are officially challenged." She pointed her Kendo stick at him, and gave him a develish smile.

" Unless your afraid..."

Kris had been outside near the Forbidden Forest, when an owl flew to him and gave him a note. Curiously unfolding the note, Kris read about Cassandra inviting him to the Room of Requirement for some martial arts practice. Kris was only one step away from black belt in one type of martial arts, but he hadn’t fought with Gi’s before nor practiced Kendo, although he knew what it was. Pondering about it for a minute, Kris decided to show up anyway.

Stuffing the note into the pocket of her black jeans, that were older enough to be worn in enough to be extremely comfortable, Kris walked towards the castle.
Entering the castle, Kris headed towards the Room of Requirement and entered it just in time to see Cassandra’s last words to Pyro.

“You can fight. I’ll play the judge,” Kris said slipping off his cloak, revealing a white-T-shirt, Kris sat down on a chair that had appeared at his wish, “Good morning to both of you. And do answer your question – I’ll have to pass the test in summer back in Italy to get black belt, but the technique I’m studying is rather more like Taekwondo. No weapons for me.”<br>
((OOC: In reality I’m actually two steps from a black belt. But my trainer scheduled me to get my next one in the end of March, so wish me luck!))

Pyro smirked as she pointed her Shinai at him. and nearly laughed. He droped the bag to the floor and grinned. "Well, Im sorry but after tonight I will have two up on you?". He turned and faced Kris as he entered. "hey Kris. Your gonna be the Shinpan of this duel, that works with me".

He knelt down and opend his bag that carried all his Kendo-gu. He took of his robes and the shirt he was wearing and put on his Keikogi. Than he put on the Bogu and grabed the Men and placed it over his head. Than he put on the Tare and Tabi. Last he put on the Kote on his hands. than pulled out his own Shinai and steped up onto the arena.

"ready when you are" He said to her. as he Got into the Hasso-no-kamae Stance.

((Hasso-no-kamae:the ready position with the shinai held vertically by the right shoulder. Just in case you didnt know =D ))

(( Just for a friendly warning, I haven't been on a kendo mat in probably, about 3 years. I broke my knee in a tournament, and haven't done anything since. So, if I screw up something, or use terminology that isn't quite right, please excuse me. I am extremely rusty!))

God, he is so cocky, Cass thought to herself. But of course, so was she.

She walked over to her robe where she pulled out a bright scarf that pulled her hair up with. Can't forget this, she thought to herself, Craig would never forgive me.

She adjusted her clothing and picked up her shinia. She walked around leisurly surveying him. She knew she would lose. (( And trust me, she will!)) But, she didn't care. She was honestly beginning to believe that Pyro thought she was weak. She didn't want him to look at her in that way. To most pure-bloods, the only thing weaker than a muggle born was a muggle born with a sob story. She didn't want either of them to think of her that way. Pyro knew her parentage, but Kris did not. Though, he probably had guessed. She had spent three years at Hogwarts trying to prove herself, and she definitly didn't want either one of them to think less of her.

She stopped and literally looked like she was surveying her prey. Craig had once told her she was almost graceful in tournament once. She snickered to herself. Graceful, she thought.

She raised her shinai her and advanced attempting to make a blow across his midsection.

((hehehe, dont worry, ive never been in a kendo tournament or class, although I really want to take a class in kendo. i got the termanology off the interent =D ))

He eyed her as she walked around. this was gonna be fun, it had been a while since he had a chance to do some reall kendo. He watched her and waited for her to attack. He usually liked to hold back and let them attack first so he could get a feel for their style. She went and attacked at his midsection. he fliped his Shinai down. he deflected hers off to the side, than he took a step back, drawing his shinai in close, than he steped foreward and made a stabing attack at her.

Pyro quickly deflected her blow easily. He jabbed at her and she dodged out of the way.

He knew I would see that coming. He's just teasing me, she though to herself.

She stepped back, and looked him up and down. Let's roll, she thought to herself.

She brought her shinai up and let it fall .

He smirked as she dodged. He had delebratly made his attack slow enough for her to dodge. He watched her attack. He brought his Shinai Horozontaly over his head to block her attack. he shoved her shinai up and than brought his down in a attack on her shoulder.

He hit me, she thougt to herself. HIs shinai went right at her left shoulder. It immediately began to hurt, but she wan't going to stop.

She moved back a moment, but it was pretty obvious she was hurt. She was wearing a tank top, and a bruise began to form very quickly. It was a bit of a purple color.

She pulled her and stabbed at his upper torso

He felt pretty confident now. This was his style, the ability to be able to guess how his oppenant would react and stay one step ahead of him. So when the thrust came at him he had already steped to the side and watched the thrust pass him by. he brought his Shinai down on hers, aiming his blow near the handle of her Shinai.

Cass moved out of the way just in the nick but had to step back. She grabbed her shoulder, she was actually bleeding. The stab to her shoulder was actually causing her to bleed! She could actually see her tank top become a little red color. And, it hurt alot. She couldn't use that hand anymore.

So, she began to wield with her right hand only. He probably already noticed she was hurt, but she wasn't going to give up. Not yet, at least.

She moved her sword back and once again aimed at Pyro's general direction. She couldn't aim very well one handed.

Pyro could easily dodge the slow and ackward attack. He backed away a steped. "I think we should stop, your hurt." He said, lowering the point of his shinai to the floor.

Kris watched curiously as Cassandra and Pyro fought. He knew martial arts and was good at it and as a hobby had did some fencing as well, but this thing was still completely different.
Pyro seemed a bit better though and Cassandra got hurt.
Just as Kris was about to open his mouth Pyro suggested that they should finish.

“We have first blood,” Kris confirmed standing up and to look at the wound, which wasn’t really serious actually. So Kris just moved his wand over it, causing a muggle bandage appear on it, “That should stop the blood to until you go and have it checked in the Hospital Wing. But I’ll declare Pyro as the winner for this round. I don’t have a clue if you want to start the next as well or not.”<br>
Kris stepped back and smirked: “Both of you seemed good enough with your shinais though.”<br>

Cass began to open her mout to protest, but the sharp pain in her shoulder made her stop.

Stupid, Gryffindor Pride, she thought to herself.

" I guess your right. If I'm fighting one handed, I think its time to stop."

She dropped her shinai. It was honestly too heavy for her to hold it one handed. She looked at the large bruise and mark on her shoulder. It didn't look bad, but it would obviously slow her down for the next few days. No fancy dresses for me at the party, she thought to herself.

Pyro took of the men(stupid name for a helmet) and looked at her shoulder. "that gonna be ok?"

Cass looked at her shoulder. " I'm really not sure. It's just really sore at this point."

It was really bothering her, but she wasn't going to admit that to him. " It's just the dangers of dueling you know. Sometimes you take some hits."

She looked at him. " What? Are you upset about hitting me like that? I'll be fine. I'm not a porcelain doll."

He looked at her and shruged, than grinned. "are you kidding, I enjoyed hitting you. it was fun." He looked at her shoulder. "come on lets have madam pomfrey look at that."
