Kamron weaved his way throught he crowd towards the Ravenclaw table. The room was electric with the energy of the new students--everyone lonigng for the upcoming feast, and hardle able to sit still with the excitement of being back at Hogwarts again. For most people, this was home. Even for him, it was his second home. He felt as comfortable here as he did anywhere. He smiled at the other Ravenclaws as he walked down and took his ususal seat, close to the front here the professors sat. He immediatly let his head tip back, looking up at the starry night sky. It was a beautiful, cloudless night. He loved the great hall, it was a fastinating study.
After a moment, he brought himself back to reality and looked around at the familiar, and unfamilar faces, eager for things to get started.

Jaquin strode through the entrance hall packed with throngs of loqacious students, discoursing in loud, tantalizing voices (to Jaquin). With none of his quotidian luggage in hand, Jaquin felt light as a feather, as though walking among the clouds. Striding down the familiar corridor to the entrance of the Great Hall, the resonant sounds of tumultuous and racous students became a pandemonium (again in Jaquin's opinion). Endeavoring to block off the insanely loud noises of the hall, Jaquin headed to the rather quiet table of the Ravens.
Sitting down on a chair, next to what looked like a 5th year Ravencalw, Jaquin slipped into peaceful solititude of contemplation as he scrutinized his gleaming white wand.

He had been leaning back in his chair, watching the crowds, which was one of his favorite pass times. He had his nose in a book from the time that he was young, but he found the study of social behavior much more intreging.
He say the other boy enter out of the corner of his eye, and take the seat next to him. While not a social boy, he did make sure that he knew the name of everyone in his house--but that was more because he chose to study humans than anything, and he reconized the boy immediatly as a sisth year.
"Jaquin Prokenstien" He said, glancing over at him "Quite and intregining group of first years, don't you think?"

Jaquin looked up to see the 5th year inquiring him on a subject that he would have rather avoided. "Yes, quiet intriguing, but extremely tumultuous, too. I beg your pardon, but, I'm afraid I don't know you," replied Jaquin in his usual quick witted voice. Taking out one of his advanced biology textbooks, he immersed himself within it endeavoring to imbibe every little bit of information while still finding time to converse with the 5th year. Suddenly, Jaquin remembered the name of the 5th year whom he had seen last year in the common room. "Ah, now I remember your name. Kamron Leopold is it not?" Jaquin pronounced, looking at Kamron.
As he put away his volumous book, Jaquin inquired, "So, have you enjoyed your years at Hogwarts so far?"

He nodded eagerly, his grey-green eyes looking over at Jaquin for a brief moment before they immediatly scanned the students still flooding into the Great Hall. His focus was mainly on a group that he reconized as second year Slytherins--his attention seeming to be deeply fouces as if he was trying to understand there very thoughts.
"I have enjoyed them immensly" he replied, his words genunine, not sounding as if he was not giving the other boy his full attention. It was obvious that he too could carry on the conversation as well as letting his mind focus elsewhere.
"I find the socilogical behavior of the students extrodinarily intresting. The way that thier personalities merge is fascinating"

Jaquin scrutinized Kamron, meticulously observing where his gaze pointed; at the Slytherins. Jaquin quickly intercalated a comment, "You know not all Slytherins are neccesarily 'evil'. I have a Slytherin friend, Perseus, who is very intellectual and has a personality that is an amalgam of Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. Consequently, his idiosyncratic personality gets him kicked out of Slytherin groups. If you think about potions, you'll know him. He's a genius at mathematics and science."
"I have also enjoyed my years at Hogwarts immensly, as I got oustandings in my Care of Magical Creatures, Charms, Transfiguration, Astronomy, Potions, Herbology, and Arithmancy O.W.L.s. I can't wait until I become a magibiology researcher for the ministry. There isn't really much to worry for me, as I already took a test that enables me to attend the most advanced classes at Harvard in the U.S. after graduation from Hogwarts. There, I will earn a Ph.D degree in biology, then turn to magibiology research and work for the ministry, here," Jaquin stated plainly. "So, what vocation do you think you will have after graduating from Hogwarts?"

He nodded in complete agreement to Jaquin's comment--his gaze never leaving the group that his focus had been directed upon
"I compleatly agree" He commented, this time not bothering to look over at them. "I have been trying to monitor their social behavior, particularly the intergration of the first years after seeing how they behave amongst themselves. The students themselves are rather compatable with any of the houses, but once they are placed into Slytherin it is as if they must conform to some compleatly preposterous expectation that they must be diablerie."
He leaned forward in his chair, this time his gaze drifting towards a crowd of cowering first years, his focus so intense it seemed as if he had forgotten the other boy compleatly.
Of course he had not though, and he nodded slightly as he listened to him talk about his O.W.L.s and his future goals.
"I do look forward to the O.W.L.s this year. I do love a good exam."
He paused for a moment, intently focusedo nt he body language of a particular first year.
"I will definatly go into the ministry" he replied quickly, looking away from the group and directly towards the Jaquin for the first time. "with International affairs I think. But I also wish to gain a muggle degree in Psychology. I have been readip on their theories and they are uterly fascinating"

Katta McLeod rushed into the Great Hall, hurriedly adjusting her pointed black hat. She was hoping to see Rhys before the Feast and Sorting began, but caught no sight of him. She passed groups of chattering friends, glad to see one another still, and resumed her usual post at the end of the table near the teachers. Alone again. Katta looked up at the assorted professors, wondering if she would be one of them. Doubtful, but still... Katta set her elbow gently down on the table, and rested her chin delicately on her palm, remembering her last encounter with him. "You lazy fool!" he yelled, throwing a large spellbook at her. "You sit around all day, reading or doing homework. All the time. Cant you be a normal girl for once ad get some friends?" He picked up her copy of Animagi, The Half-Explored World, and ripped off the cover, throwing it into the fire. Katta had watched placidly, with no emotion. At the end of his rant, she had picked up the remainder of her things, and walked across the all to her room, and bolted the door shut. Only then did she unleash the tears. It wasnt aways like that, though. Spometimes he was just drunk and didnt make sense. Sometimes he was sober and just a jerk. But on the nights when the inky spot on his forearm was a little clearer, he was evil. Katta ran a forefinger lightly over the scar under her eye. That had been several years ago, when the mark burned bright and clear and horrible, and her father had left, muttering something about Quidditch. When he had come back, he was on the breaking point of sanity. Katta suddenly realized that she had been staring off into space, and looked around, catching a glimpse of a familliar face... And she smiled for one of the first times since July.

"So, it seems that you have particular interest in anthropology, sociology, and phsycology? Well, I'm a bit more into the 'harcore' muggle sciences. I'm find that biology/genetics, archeaology, and biophysics suites me the best," replied Jaquin. "So, have you thought about entering the Ministry of Magic? I've heard that pay there is high and that is one of the consequential factors for a good vocation." After a moment of silence, Jaquin once again brought up a change in the subject as he inquired, "Do you like Quidditch? I mean, I know that you play reserve beater, but, I've never really seen you in training (Jaquin is one of the official beaters)? Which professional team do you like best?"
The racous hall created profuse noise that was extremely abrasive, especially with younger students running about attempting preposterous antics. As the staff began preparing for the opening annoucements, the school began taking their seats, as the sound of feet echoed around the Great Hall. Jaquin turned his attention to the seated professors and waited patiently for them to speak. As he did so, Jaquin took out his profound advanced biology book, once again engrossing himself within it, contemplating on every little particular (but still paying attention to Kamron).
(RysandKatta, I don't know how to answer to your post, as this 'at the Ravenclaw table' and your character did not interact with ours. ;D So, if you could change the post, it would make it much easier for Kamron and I)

He let the topic drift to quidditch, his eyes looking out across the hall again and watching the students with the same deep intensity. Of course thought, a part of his mind was still listening to Jaquin.
"I am rather fond of Quidditch" he replied, this time his gaze never drifting over to the new boy.
"My father use to take me to Falmoth Falcon games when I was younger. Perhaps it was the influence of Kevin and Karl Broadmoor who made me start playing beater."
He fell silent for a moment, to try and hear what a few of the first years were saying as the rest of the hall clammored to their seats.
"I did not start playing until my third year though--and it was not until this year that I tried for the Ravenclaw team."

"I also enjoy watching the Falmouth Falcons! They are probably my favorite team. Although they have had their ups and downs, I'm still faithful," replied Jaquin as he began fiddling with his wand.
It seemed like the loquacious side of Jaquin was taking over as the 'discussion' was no longer a 'discussion', it was now a discourse. Jaquin stared up at prodigious, enchanted ceiling of the great hall and watched the billowing dark clouds overhead as thunder and lightning stormed on. The volume of the hall began to dim, as the tumultuous and preposterous antics of the younger students steadily arrived at a stopping point.
"So, looking foward to the school year?" Jaquin asked as he perseveringly imbibed information from his book.

Katta's gaze wandered over to where the two boys sat. She smiled slightly, for now she recognized the younger of the two. Kamron... something. As she was not outgoing, Katta had met him last year in a sort of elective course. What it was, she couldnt remember. Katta's mind drifted from Quidditch to her father to Rhys, and then back to the boys conversation. After a moment of silence, she turned to Kamron, and muttered a greeting, while absentmindedly twirling a strand of her hair aroun her index finger. She didnt do this often. Her main twitch was tapping her fingernails on the tabletops. After a moment she looked away, searching the Gryffindor table for Rhys.
(amazingly short. sorry)
