Liz slipped into an empty class-room quietly and placed her cauldron on a bench after pulling out her potions indrigents and her book on Advanced Potions. Liz was actually surprisingly good with potions – maybe because it remind Liz a little of cooking and Liz loved to cook. And if Liz wanted to become a healer one day, then she would have to be accepted into Snape’s Advanced Potions class and professor Snape didn’t accept anyone with less than an Outstanding to his classes.
Glancing in the book for to see what she would have to do, Liz filled her cauldron with water and created fire under it to start brewing a healing salve. Pulling off her cloak, Liz placed it on an other nearby table, leaving her into a long sea-green skirt and a white button-up blouse, that fit her perfectly with it’s elbow-length sleeves. Concentrating on the job at hand, Liz hummed softly to herself as she started chopping Targus roots. Being incredible immersed in her task, Liz let out a loud yelp and whirled around when the classroom door opened. A light blush already creeping up her cheeks, Liz stared at the person who had entered wordlessly. Liz was incredibly shy, so she couldn’t even think of anything to stay right now, despite the fact that she felt rude by not saying anything.

Kari blushed as the girl yelped.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt, it's just that the rest of the castle is so noisy, and I need somewhere to practice my transfiguration of a quill into a canary. It's actually quite hard to transfigure an inanimate objest into an animate one. I always found it challenging." Kari notied the cauldron.
"Are you brewing a potion?" Kari smiled. She waasn't very good at potions, but she was still fascinated by the subject. "Potions is so fascinating! The art of brewing and measurement, one of my favourite subjects even if I couldn't get a passing grade to save my life."
"Anyway, I'm really sorry I barged in like that. If you want, I could leave."

Liz managed to find her tongue again, as the younger girl – who she know recognized as a fellow Gryffidnor started speaking and said that she could leave, if Liz wanted. “No, you can stay, I don’t mind. And I know what you mean by noisy,” Liz managed a shy smile, “And yes, I know what you mean. Transfiguration was rather difficult this time. I managed nicely enough.” Liz recalled the average-looking quill she had managed and smiled charmingly – Liz liked to get something done correctly and well. “You are Karissa right? I remember that you answered McGonagalls question in class,” Liz stated – she had an awesome memory for names and faces – maybe it was because she was so shy and usually kept to the back-ground, that she had time to notice people.
Liz glanced towards her cauldron and noticing that it was time to add the next ingredient, did so: “Yes, it’s potions. Snape isn’t really a very fair person, so I have to practice a lot, if I want to get into his Advanced potions class. I think brewing potions is a lot like cooking, so luckily I don’t completely suck at it.”
Liz blushed a little again, noticing that she had been so out-spoken – it was rare occurrence considering Liz’s shyness around people she didn’t really know: “I’m Liz.”
Kari smiled.
"You're really good at remembering names," she said as she remembered the lasst potions class she had had.
"I remember my last Potions class. It was supposed to be a Draft of Peace, but I think I put in to much hellbore. Anyway, when I tested it, I got a horrible case of itchiness. It was really embarassing." Kari took a small quill from her pocket. "Now to see if I can turn a quill into a canary." Kari waved her wand over the quill and watched with joy as it rolled up into a little ball and the one feather turned into little individual feathers, and a little beak appeared. Wings sprouted and the white feathers that had been her quill turned yellow.
"Wow, I never could get it to work properly, and that's saying something as Transfiguration is my best subject." Kari picked up the little canary as it began to tweet.
"If I took this little birdie up to the Common Room then my kittens would be on it in less than 5 minutes."

Liz smiled shyly. She was only so observant, because she didn’t have very many friends with who she could talk freely and who would occupy some of her time. Faith was one of the girls Liz liked though and had felt free around from the beginning. She didn’t mention it right now though – it was a bit personal.
“Potions is a lot like cooking actually and luckily I can cook, so I don’t find it that difficult. I don’t know what I’ll do in Snape’s Advanced class though. I wouldn’t really like to take the class, but I have to if I want to be a healer one day,” Liz explained shyly seeing that her potion would just need to simmer for some time again, so Liz took a small step forward and watched as Karissa transfigured a quill into a canary. “It’s really cute,” Liz smiled looking at the little bird, “You really can’t take her up to the common room then. It would be a shame to hurt this little darling.”
