It was only two minutes into Faith’s furied catching up session but already her attention was wavering dangerously close to the edge. Her eyes seemed to be fixated on the hair of the guy sitting in-front of her table and she couldn’t control her hands enough to stop them from tapping her quill on the rough surface of her parchment. Realising that she had been staring at the back of the boy’s head for about five minutes, Faith shook her head to regain her concentration and stared determinedly at her textbook. It was one for potions, her work being the essay on Strengthening Solutions that Professor Snape had set the previous week. She had only written the title so far (although it was a very pretty title, framed with flowers and other doodles) but was determined to finish it before the evening was out. And that was where Agnes came in. Faith relied perhaps too much on her friend, Agnes Blackwood, for homework and the like but she was always very thankful for any aid she may have received.
Quill in hand, Faith took a final glance at the page, to take in the names again then set to work on the first paragraph, murmuring her words under her breath, as she always did when she wrote. Five or so minutes passed and Faith paused to re-read her handiwork then gave a satisfied smile. It wasn’t bad for an opening paragraph, she decided, or atleast not for a Potions essay. Just as she cast her eye towards the book again, to read up on her next block of writing, she heard a familiar voice and looked up to see Agnes entering the library.
