Dana sighed and leaning her head back against the wall tried to see something positive in the situation she was in. She had stumbled on the stairs and falling down had smashed her leg just through the tricky stair case, so she was now stuck. Her right leg was half-way through the stair and stuck so severly that Dana couldn’t pull it out without someone else’s help. And her wand had flown to the end of the stair-case, so Dana couldn’t really use magic either.
And on top of everything Peeves had thought it would be funny to throw a bucket of water over her, so Dana was now wet as well. Luckily it hadn’t been icy water this time or Dana would have been a frozen cubicle already. Dana let her head fall against the wall behind her with a thump – she had been stuck here for two hours already and it was getting painful, as the stair-case was scratching off the skin on her ankle every time Dana moved a little.
Wondering if she would have to spend the night here, if someone didn’t show up soon Dana let out a loud groan. At this point she would be happy to see Filch coming her way. Hearing footsteps Dana wondered they’d pass like all others had at the end of the stair-case without hearing her, so she didn’t bother to open her eyes nor move anymore, wondering if the professors would count being stuck in the stair-case all night enough of a reason to allow her skip a day.

Riku rushed down the empty hallway. She was late, she knew because it was absolutly empty. She could hear her footsteps echoing as she broke into a run. It wasn't unlikely that Riku was late that day. She hadn't had any sleep the night before an woke up late.
"Ah!" Riku screamed as she slipped on water near the stairways and fell flat on her behind. She winced as she slowly stood up trying not to slip again. She looked down at her robes- they were wet.
"Great, not it looks like i peed on myself!" She grumbled as she took off her robe and looked at the wet spot in teh behind. She bit her lip in agrivation. Today just didn't seem like a good day for her. Nonetheless she made herself smile. She looked slightly to her left to see a girl...well it LOOKED like she was stuck in the stairs but that couldn't be...could it?
"Hey, you alright?" Riku asked as she walked- well slide- over by the girl. 'Wow, she is stuck...' She thought to herself as she saw the girls leg wedged between the stairs. 'And people think I'm a klutz...'

Dana opened her eyes as someone spoke to her and concentrated her bluish-gray eyes on the girl in front of her. She was around her age – maybe a year later and a Ravenclaw as well. “I’m stuck in the stair-case with my leg, soaking wet thanks to Peeves and my wand is just there beyond my reach as if mocking me. DO you really think I’m alright?” Dana snapped at the girl moodily. It really have been a bad evening and the comment had hit a nerve. Dana closed her eyes and breathed deeply for a moment, before opening her eyes once again: “Sorry, I didn’t mean to sanp. I’ve just been here for a couple of hours already.”
Dana moved her leg tentatively and bit into her lower lip as some blood started to trickle down her leg once again, from where the stair had cut into Dana’s leg. “Some piece of wood is stuck in my leg, so I can’t get it out myself. Would you mind performing the charm or handing me my wand, so I can get loose?” Dana asked in a controlled voice – she hadn’t learned self-control and etiquette from her grand-mother, who was a very important, strong and proud woman for nothing.
“Should teach on how to not read while climbing the stairs,” Dana muttered and glanced towards the railing over which her book had flown, “At least some first year Ravenclaw found my book and could take it back to me, even when she didn’t heard my call.” Dana sighed and rubbed her face for a moment – her leg was throbbing with a dull ache, she was getting a head-ache, she was cold and hungry. This certainly wasn’t her day. Sighing Dana looked at the other girl and smiled weakly: “So, would you mind helping me?”
Riku opened her mouth to reply with a sour comment as well. She almost turned around, but decided against it. She could sense the girl's agrivation. She looked at her leg and winced.
"No not at all!" Riku said quickly. She looked at the stairs thinking of a spell she could use.
"Wow, I can see why you're so irritable," Riku said understandingly. She took out her wand from inside her robes and said a quick spell and the stair that her foot was stuck under disappeared.
"Here, let me help you up,"Riku said as she bent down about to but the girl's arm around her shoulders in an attempt to help her up. Riku looked at her leg. She could see the blood and Riku didn't wince like other girls would. She saw things like this before...even worse.

“Thanks,” Dana sent a small smile at the other girl as she get her leg free and helped Dana to stand up, as she let Dana drape her arm around her shoulders for it. Dana limped to get her wand and then sat on one of the lower stairs, realizing that her feet weren’t quite ready to carry her yet. Casting a heeling charm on her leg, Dana watched as the skin slowly grew back together. She was nowhere as good as madam Pomfrey, but Dana had had surpringly much practice with healing spells. Finding a handkerchief from his pocket, Dana cleaned up the dried blood from her leg and grimaced seeing the scar on her leg – it would fade in a day or two, but until that it would bother Dana: “Great, now I can’t wear a short skirt for a couple of days.”
Deciding she should wait until getting some feeling back to her feet, Dana didn’t move very much besides rubbing her foot to get the blood-circulation back to normal and smiling at the other girl: “Sorry, I know you are a Ravenclaw, but I don’t think I know your name. I’m Dana. And thank you for helping me. I was already beginning to think I was going to have to spend the night here.”
Dana smiled and moved her feet a little while stretching them out: “Do you mindme asking where you were hurrying when you came here? Did I disturb something important?”

Riku watched as she cast a healing charm on her leg. She smiled back at the girl feeling relieved.
"Glad I could be of service," Riku said to the girl softly. She picked up her books and the girls books that were on the ground as well. Some were wet, unfortunatly.
"And to think, you're only afraid of not being about to wear a skirt. Most people would be afraid of a broken leg or a sprained ankle...but apparently not you," Riku said with a teasing smile. She nodded when she heard the girl say her name.
"I'm Riku and Riku was hurrying to a class. Don't even ASK why I was so late. Long, dumb story," Riku said putting her head down in her hands and shaking it slowly. She had trouble staying on time, lately. She was never punctual even when she tried.

Dana grinned and poked out her tongue towards Riku for a moment. It might have seen a bit childish, but it was extremely Dana-like to do something like that. Dana was an active girl as well as reading a lot and she was rather straight-forward. “I would be in much more pain, if I had sprained my ankle or broken my leg. But the scar that will stay for a couple is bad enough. I won’t look the same in skirt for at least two days!” Dana tried to make a sad puppy-face was failed miserable as she started giggling, “I’m just glad the castle is still chilly enough to require warmer clothing. I just need spring and summer and warmth already, so wearing a skirt today is kind of like a strike against weather. Not really working very well though.”
Dana glanced at her watch: “Class? Must be Astronomy or something like that, right? As I’m off from classes for today – have been for a couple of hours, and that should be the only class still going. Or am I just terrible confused. No, there should be some other classes now as well.”
Dana tilted her head and grinned at Riku: “I just hope it’s not Snape’s class. As much as I respect him as a teacher, I still think he would cook you alive for being late as much as it is. McGonagall might be a bit harsh as well.”
Riku laughed and stuck her tongue back out at Dana. She could tell her and this girl would get along. "Oh that is SUCH a tragedy! I mean WHO in the world could go on?"
She giggled and listened to Dana's next question. Riku's eyes grew wide as she remembered why she was in such a hurry. Riku had missed probably most of Astronomy! She groaned slightly then sighed.
"Oh well. I was off to Astronomy as you said. Too bad, I actually like that class..." Riku said with a shrug. "And where were you off to?"

“Astronomy? Cool. Don’t take the subject myself for I couldn’t recognize I star for my life. Not even the lodestar. Naturally I admire the stars at cloudless nights, but that’s all for my skills,” Dana grinned and stretched lazily, “I’m off from classes for today. So I was heading to the kitchens to get a cup of coffee. I think I’m slowly getting an addiction. But I just love a well-done espresso or a mocca latte or a cappuccino. Liking this drinks must be a trait for all French. Not that I want to generalize,” Dana stopped for a moment before grinning, “Wait, I just generalized, right? I don’t mean to say that every French has to like these drinks, just htat the most people I know back at home love them.”
“And naturally it’d be the end of the world. I mean come on,” Dana rolled her eyes and talked in a high squeaky voice, twirling a strand of her hair and trying to look as much of a brain-less bimbo as she could, “I mean gosh, it’s like I couldn’t wear a skirt so I’d be like wearing pants so it would be like none of the cute guys here couldn’t like see me and I’d be like a whole less popular and like that would be awful.”
Dana batted her eye-lashes desperately trying to hold her laughter back in as such behavior wasn’t like Dana at all: “And I’m like so sick of saying like ‘like’ all the time.”
