Sydney Smiled as Kamron turned around to her with a smile on his face. She couldnt help but be happy when she was around him, it was like second nature.
Walking a step, she stood next to him as she listened to the teacher go on. Professor Sinistra then asked about the formation fo stars she saw a distance away. Sydney paused, she knew the answer, but she didnt want to see pushy. Waiting a few seconds as no ones hand rose, Sydney did so. With a grin on her face she smiled that she was the only one that knew the answer.

Maranda stood as she waited for a hand to raise. 'Dont tell me I dont have anyone that knows!' she thought in her head as she scanned the students. She heard voices but no hands rising into the night air. "PLEASE! No talking! This is a Class, not a get together with friends. I have taught at this school for quite awhile, I will not tollerate conversing while I am Teaching. Do I Make Myself Clear, Miss, Maddison and Miss Cortes?" she exclaimed as she deffinatly Did want an answer from the two.
Maranda wasnt one to flip out over students fooling around in her class, she was no where as bad as Professor Snape, but she was strick with the rules and all the rules from the other classes did accomodate to hers too.
Seconds later a girl showed up, fretting over being late. "I do wish you would have kept more track of time dear. This goes for eveyone! Be on time or pay the price. 5 points from Gryffindor for missing class." Maranda spoke. This wasnt a good night at all students werent treating her right at all.
As Silence feel over everyone she notice a hand rise into the air. "Ahh Miss Rawson, Do tell me what another name for 'the river' is..." she said with a grin as she hopped she did have One student in her class that knew something about the stars.

"Yes Professor, I understand completely." Jordan said in response to the Professor. She smiled and then looked at the formation of stars once more. It was nagging in the back of her mind...what could it possibly be? Eridanus!
"Snap!" Jordan whispered to herself, a smile crossing her face. She raised her hand, but realized the teacher had already called on Sydney. None the less, she kept her hand up just in case.

Sydney put down her arm down as she spoke. "Well, I know that the formation called 'Eridanus' is nick named 'the river'. Is that the answer?" she answered but asked back in a question form. She knew what she said was correct but wasnt sure if it was the correct formation fo stars. You never know there could be more than one formation named 'the river!'

Sapphire stood at the back of the class, on her own. It was pretty dark out here. She thought of how much you could see in Russia at this time of year, smiling slightly wistfully.
She strained to see the constellation but the person in front of her had their head at such an angle that she couldn't see what the Professor was pointing at.
'The river', Sapphire thought. 'Eridanus, perhaps?' She wasn't entirely sure - Astronomy wasn't her strongest subject. But she didn't have a weak subject in any case. Only sport. She wasn't good at that because she was only mediocre at best and as such just didn't try.
Sapphire cautiously volunteered to answer but the Professor called on someone else. It was possible she couldn't even see Sapphire over the tall person who was in front of her.

Phoebe smirked at Sapphire.
"If this giant weren't here she would have called on you." She said rolling her eyes. She wasn't really a people person but she always had something to say.
She was perhaps one of the quieter Slytherins but she always had to have her comment.

Sapphire registered for the first time the Slytherin, her own age, stood beside her. She agreed with what she said to some extent, although she hadn't really felt particularly resentful. Just annoyed.
Sapphire smiled at the girl in agreement, wondering whether she was being friendly or not.

"Phoebe. My name. You can call me Phoebs. Whatever you like." Phoebe said looking up at the stars. She looked back at the girl.
"Slytherin. Explains the evil comment." She said feeling sort of guilty.

Sapphire smiled at the girl. She didn't seem like the worst of Slytherins at all; in fact she seemed fairly affable. Sapphire wondered if that would change if she knew she was a half blood.
"Sapphire," she said, "or Saphy". She then looked back at the teacher. She didn't enjoy getting in trouble.

Listening to Sydney answer her question she grinned as she answered correctly. "Good job. Yes, you are right. +10 points Gryffindor." She said with a nodd towards the girl.
Just about to speak again, she was inturrupted by ywt again girls talking. "Have you not heard me before! Miss Phoenix and Miss Xiong- NO Talking!" she exclaimed as she glared at the two girls.
Starting again, she went on with the class. "Alright, as Sydney did answer, yes the formation is called 'Eridanus'." Looking up to the sky she spoke still searchign for something. "Tonight there is suppost to be a metor shower named Orionid. I want you all to figure out which way the 'shooting stars' are traveling. if one rears of course, jot it down. There should be a range from 1-4 metors that can be seen. Record them all down for me. When you are finish I want someone to point out two formations in the sky night that can be seen. Anyone two- doesnt matter."
She spoke as she looked over the students.

Sapphire blushed a little as the teacher told them off. She wasn't used to getting in trouble at all. And she didn't want to get on the wrong side of the Astronomy teacher, because Astronomy was her favourite subject. She looked at Phoebe and raised her eyebrows, before jotting down what the teacher was saying.
'Orionids'... that was the name of the meteor shower that took place on 21st October. Sapphire checked in her head... yes... today was the 21st of October.
'Meteor showers are burts of dozens or more shooting stars we get when the Earth ploughs into the debris from a dying comet', Sapphire quoted silently to herself. 'They are each named after the constellation they look as if they come from - with an 'id' on the end. The heaviest showers are the Perseids, the Geminids and the Quadrantids.'
Sapphire grinned and looked up at the night sky. Almost instantly she saw a shooting star, and, ignoring the annoying 'ooh' issuing from some of the class, she jotted down its direction. She saw two more, two going in the same direction, sort of south-east east across the sky, she thought, and the other she failed to get, although it seemed to 'rear', as Professor Sinistra had described it.
She watched for a while longer, but saw no further stars. She turned her attention away from the sky. If there were any more she would be alerted by the 'ooh' - they lasted for a few seconds so she ought to have time to see what direction it was travelling in.
Instead she looked for the constellations in the night sky. She could see Orion clearly; Betelgeuse was bright tonight. Sapphire smiled slightly to herself, thinking of Ford Prefect and Zaphod Beeblebrox.
Sapphire raised her hand. Professor Sinistra had asked for two formations that they could see, and she could answer that. If the professor could see her over the 'giant'. Sapphire smiled. It was an apt description.

Seing a hand raise she answered it. "Yes Sapphire, what do you see." she asked as she followed her eyes to where they were previously fixed in the sky.

Sapphire smiled, glad the teacher had noticed her for something positive this time.
OK, well over there," Sapphire started, pointing in a fairly easterly direction, "I can see Orion and the Winter Triangle, and to the north," she continued, "I can see The Plough."
Americans called it The Saucepan but Sapphire had soon learnt and started to use the English term when she came to Hogwarts. After all, otherwise people might not know what you meant.

"Very good Sapphire!" she exclaimed as it seemed like she have many intelligent people in her class this night. "+10 points Ravenclaw!" she said as she nodded towards Sapphire with her correct answers.
Looking towards some people who havent spoke and answered questions yet she said, "Anyone else?" She said waiting for at least one more new person to answer the question.

Jordan looked around. She spotted many. But she didn't want to raise her hand. And as she saw that no one else was raising their hand, she sighed and did so. Hoping the teacher would answer her own questions. But, Jordan knew well enough that Professor Sinistra would do no such thing. She breathed in and waited to be called on.

Ivy stood in the class, trying to make sense of what the Professor had just said.
'Next year I am so not doing Astronomy,' she thought to herself. 'I'll do Care of Magical Creatures instead'.
Ivy noted down everything she could about the meteor shower, and tried to make herself as small and insignificant as possible as the teacher looked over in her direction.

Sapphire smiled, satisfied, as she earned ten points for her house. She looked around the class, which was quite large. Many people were still observing the skies for meteors. One girl was waiting to be called on. Sapphire scrutinised her closely. She was a Hufflepuff, she noted immediately. She could do with hearing her speak if she was to deduct any more things about her.
'You must be bored if you've started trying to figure out people's personalities', Sapphire told herself, and she smiled, looking at Phoebe and wondering what sort of a person she was.

Brett jotted down what he saw. Amused at the fact that he could actualy name so many things. He lifted his head to spot her. Then brought his head back down before she could see him looking. Shaking the thoughts out of his head he dropped his quill and looked around the crowd. A Hufflepuff third year, Jordan he thought it was, had her hand raised and she didn't look like she wanted to answer the question. Brett smiled at this and then looked up into the night sky. He spotted many of the constellations and nodded as the names popped into his brain.
He had studied as much as he could over the summer, he loved the stars and the universe. It fascinated even him. And that didn't happen often. He shook his head and look back down at the parchment which held his notes. He would have to recopy them later, his hand writing was horrible and he couldn't read it. It was getting chilly out and Brett pulled his cloak closer around him and crossed his arms. Didn't they have an actual classroom for this class? Or was it always going to be outside? What would happen when it snowed? Brett chuckled at himself and ceased the thoughts from running any farther in his mind. He was worrier, he knew that, but he worried over the stupidest things.

"It seems like no one is really into this class today." she said with a frown. She did not speak in a harsh tone, just diappointed in herself, not the students, Due to the fact that she was the teacher and she had to make the class fun.
Seeing one hand rise she nodded toward it. "Yes, Miss Cortes?" she said as she waited her answer.

Jordan smiled as Professor Sinistra called on her. She bit her bottom lip and fiddled with the pearls around her neck.
"I see...well, over there to the right a ways I can see Orion. And then if you go north from Orion you can spot Perseus. I think. I'm not really good with the names right now." Jordan answered as she stood on her tippy toes and looked up over the crowd.
