Filius walked into his Charm class room with a smile on his small face. Flicking his wrist at every window the blinds flew to the top and bright sun light flew in from the outside. Secondly, the bottoms of the windows creaked open so fresh air could circulate as well. “Good day, Good Day.” He murmured to himself as he strolled through the room and stacked extra Books in the corner. When he was done with that, he pointed his wand to two fans on the ceiling, they started to rotate. The room was extremely vast, Dark Grey stone walls with dark mahogany floors. Different than any other room the desk faced in from the left and right walls, so anyone could walk to the middle and be seen by all the students.
Charms class today was going to be a review for some students and work for others. Two different spells were going to be practiced in the class on the first day of school, at Hogwarts School of Witch craft and Wizardry.
Student by student stared to arrive. “Hello, Hello, Good Day.” He greeted to a few students as they greeted him. After taking rule Filius started. “Good Morning, Good Day, Hello to everyone, as you all know Im Professor Flitwick and I will be your charms teacher for the rest of the year. This class to some will be meaning less and just a review, but to some this will be a fun class that you will learn things that you may have seen other people do, but never done yourself.” With a breath he went on. “Today, as some of you see the class is taking OWL students only. So don’t worry you 4th and 5th years, you won’t be stuck doing old things.” Walking behind his desk and behind many high stacks of books Filius showed up on his podium on the front of the class. “Now For House points everyone, Please give me a few good reasons why you need to take charms?” he asked as he waited for hands to rise into the air.

The first class of the year was Charms and Ginny was quite glad for it. She was not looking forward to potions at all. "Hello Professor, have a good summer?" She greeted Professor Flitwick as she entered the room. There were only a couple of students in class so far, most of which Ginny didn't know too well. So she simply took a seat at the front of the class. Unrolling a new roll of parchment, she prepared her quill and ink bottle for some note taking. She would be taking her OWLS this year and if it was anything like Hermione had said, she would be having to study quite a bit and quality note taking was certainly the key to doing well on the OWLS. Writing her name and date neatly at the top of her parchment, Ginny waited for class to begin.

Charms class was one of Kim's favorite subjects! As she skipped down the hallway she turned into the class and walk in. Looking around the room saw Ginny sitting near the front! Walking over to her Kim sat down next to Ginny and tossed her bag on the floor which landed with the sound of breaking glass. "ooh what was that!?" Kim said as she picked up her bag and opened it up to find blue ink all over her books and the inside of her bag. "Hey how'd that happen!?" She said while curiously looking at her bag. Picking up her wand she looked at her bag, "clean up" she said and waved her wand but nothing happened. "Oooh that's not a spell ... Ginny do you know how to clean this?" She asked.
Soon Professor Flitwick started the class and asked why they should learn charms. Immediately Kim's hand shot into the air, she knew why they were supposed to learn charms! It was really easy actually.

Willow sat int he Hufflepuff Common room reading over her class schedual. ".... ermm.. Charms." she said under her breath as she folded the paper and put it in her pocket. Grabbing he wand, which was sitting on the table next to her, she put it in her pocket and stood up. Fixing her black school cloak, Will made her way out of the Common Room and over towards the stair cases.
Waiting a few seconds with a group of people, the stair case moved towards her floor as Will started to walk down to the floor right below her. Stepping off the step Willow made her way towards her first class of the day and or year.
Reaching the arch way, she stepped inside the class. The chairs were facing in as Willow made her way to the right side of the class. Sitting at the top row she placed her wand in front of her as she looked down at Kim and Ginny. With a smile she remembered how Kim is so clumsy. Professor Flitwick spoke up as Will thought for a second. Kim's hand shot into the air, as Willow raised hers slightly afterward.

"Grand, Miss Sullivan you may answer the question first, but please make it short since Miss Croft will answer after you." Filius said with a nodd as he looked over his glasses with a smile. ((Yes, You can Still post in Charms class if you did not yet. I just wanted to get the class started since we have so many classes ready for this month! You may post like you have been in the class all along, or that you have came in late. Its your call. ))

He had woken up rather early--eager to spend a few hours in the library before breafast. Of course, the idea of him spending just a little bit of time in the library and being able to make it to breakfast, and class on time was a great idea. He had found a compleatly fascinating book on major magical break throughs of the last century. By the time he checked his watch to see how much time he before breakfast, he only had about 5 minutes until his first class, Charms, started.
He managed to slip into class just before the clock ticked it was time to start. He took a seat in the front row, looking around at the other students as he did. There were a few other fifth years that reconized, and he nodded as an easy hello before taking his seat, nodding a hello at the professor also.

Sydney sitting in her dorm room looking out her window to the lawns below. In a gaze she thought about how she was a bit home sick already, but she knew in a few weeks she will feel home again, at Hogwarts. Sydney was staying at Hogwarts for Christmas and Spring Break, so this is going to be her home untill school is over in June. 'A long time.' she thought as she blinked. *BEEP BEEP BEEP* an alarm sounded as Syd quickly turned around. "CHARMS!" she boomed as she jumped up and ran down the stairs to the common room. Pushing the porthole door open Sydney jumped on to the banaster as she slid down a floor.
Reaching her desired floor Sydney Looked at the clock in the main hall. ' 3 Minutes.' she thought as she glanced down the hall and saw Kamron walk into the Charm class. At a hurid pace Syd went towards the door way. Slipping into the class she noticed the first seat, was next to Kamron. He is a fellow fifth year but Ravenclaw. Slipping into the seat next to him Syd leaned over and whispered. "I guess me and you both were ridding the bell." She said with a smile as she sat back up. Turning to him she said, "Im Sydney Rawson, 5th year Gryffie. I do hope you dont mind me sitting here, but this was the first seat I saw." Professor Flitwick started calling on Kim and Willow as She quickly shut her mouth and waited for Kim and Will to answer.

Kim sat at her desk with one hand in the air waving to get Professor Flitwick’s attention, the other hand clutched her bag which was now dripping blue ink. As was so often the case with Kim, when she heard the two words “Miss Sullivan” her ears stopped working and her mouth started. “Oh OK, um, you need to learn charms because that way you can do stuff. Like at home when I spill something my mom can cast a spell and clean it all up and then she can fix stuff to like my ink bottle, it’s broken and I can’t fix it but I think a charm could fix it.” She said while setting down her messy bag on the table. “And then you can use it on loads of other stuff too like you can make a book dance around and stuff like in that movie, that cartoon movie with the music and the mouse who thinks he’s a wizard but he’s really not because he can’t use any magic and he can’t stop the books and then the books keep dancing. I bet if he knew real magic he could have made the books stop dancing anytime because you can like stop all the spells you do, well except for cleaning I don’t know if you can stop a cleaning spell unless you knew a messy spell to make the think you cleaned turn back into a messy thing but then why would you have cleaned it up in the first place if you were only going to make it a mess again. That’s what I say to my mom when she tells me I have to clean my room, I don’t see why because it gets dirty again so I could use a cleaning spell to clean it for me and then so it can stay clean.”

Willow lowered her arm as She waited for Kim to answer the question. Before she answered the question Kamron and Sydney came into the class. A smile came on Will's face as she saw her friend Sydney arrive. Soon Kim ended her long nonsence speach about a mouse and books. Willow was a pureblood and never lived in a muggle area. Will just guessed it had something to do with Kim being halfblood but she didnt think anything about it. With a smile at Kim Willow started.
"Well Basically what Kim said. We need Charms to do things with our wands. In charms we learn spells that will help us in every day life, and what not. Also so we wont set things on fire if we say something wrong or use our wand in a werid way. Charms is basically a training for using your wand." Willow ended with a smile as she saw many eyes on her as she spoke, she didnt mind she liked to speak in front of people.

He glanced over at the girl who took a seat beside him. He smiled slightly nodding in hello. He had spend years watching the students around him, and made sure to know almost everyone by name. This one he only knew her she was from Gryffendor, he suspected her ad fifth year, and that her name started with an S. He smiled slightly larger at her introduction, it cleared up his gray areas.
"Kamron Leopold, fifth year Ravenclaw" he replied, glancing up at the professor again "And of course you can sit here. I rather enjoy the company"

Alaziabel flicked at her hair, as she entered the Charms classroom, in her elegant walk, and stance. She gazed around the room, and chose a seat far from the windows, so light would not walk upon her. She took out her parchment, and quill, along with it's ink bottle, and placed her book on the desk. OWLS were ending for her this year, but then next would be her NEWTS,and Alaizabel had to begin doing better in charms than she normally did. Her problem was that sometimes she didn't have the heart to do anything. She tapped her fingers lightly on the desk,as she thought about Professor Flitwick's question. Shrugging it out, she gazed around the room.

With a gleefull smile on his face, Filius listened to Kim and Willow answer the question. With a smile he said. "Yes, Yes. Good work both of you! 10 Points Hufflepuff!" he said as he rose his hand and nodded toward them both. Alright everyone we are going to start with a review spell. We have many spells to go through today, so please when you are done with one spell sit quietly and look at me when you are done.” He smiled as he went on. “First Alohamora.” With a smile he saw a few students yawn of boredom. “Alright Owl students please use, ‘Accio’ to get your lock from the back of the room, and use the Alohamora spell to unlock it.” Filius pointed his wand to a closet in the back of the room. The door opened as gold and silver locks sat in rows. “To all who forgot how to do Alohamora. It is a Clockwise circle.” Filius demonstrated while he names the movements. “…Then a Flick. Alright everyone commence with your duties!” Filius sounded as he waited till the class started doing what they were told. He had these students for a few years now and they all knew all to well how to work a wand, so he didn’t need to spend much time on demonstration. Clasping his hands together he watched as the students started with the spell. “Good Job Everyone. And if you still haven’t got the spell yet, keep trying.” He said as he went on. “Alright now the locking spell, Colloportus. Exactly opposite of the Alohamora spell. Counter-clock wise circle with a Flick. Go on, start please on your locks.” He said as he waited for everyone to go on with the work that was being told. Speaking up while some students went on he said, “When you are done with this spell please walk up here, to my desk and show me your work. Whispering will be tolerated, although I don’t want loud noise. When you reach my desk stand in a orderly line and I will look over the lock.” He said with a squeak as he stepped off his podium, behind his large stacks of books and shown up on the chair at his desk. (( This is an OWL class, Hermione Granger isnt in this class which means no one should get things on the first try. Even though this spell is a review.. stuggle since you havent been able to use your wand for awhile. Break it back in! Have fun with your posts. Creativity is rewarded! ))

Kim was running through a quiet meadow chasing a large brown bunny that had a ribbon tied on it's tail. Crouching down Kim jumped after the bunny but only ended up falling into the water that had suddenly appeared out of nowhere. She was fully drenched and the rabbit was hopping away, it was going to a tree and opened the tree with a lock. Huh!? Kim suddenly regained focus from her daydream and heard the professor talking about locks. Her head was on a swivel as she looked here and there as the Professor instructed them on what they were to do. Three different spells was hardly a review! Looking back at the locks on the wall Kim picked up her wand. She wasn't quite sure what she was supposed to be doing, but somehow the locks were supposed to come to her. Looking around the room she watched the other students trying to figure out what exactly they were supposed to be doing. It sounded like they were all using the same spell though and waving their wands in a circle like manner. Waving her wand around in a circle, Kim repeated what she thought the others were saying "Axio! Axo! Ascto! Actok! Acaacaapako?" Then it hit her, accio! She remember that! Her mom used that all the time to get the TV remote out of Kim's hand! "ACCIO!" Kim said but nothing happened. Shaking her wand frantically to get it work she repeated "ACCIO!" And that time a silver lock flew off the wall and headed right towards her table! "AAAAH!! Look out Ginny!!" Kim cried as the lock headed right at them. Quickly getting up out of her chair Kim dove at Ginny trying to knock her out of the way of the now attacking lock!

Filius watched as a few students began to retreve their locks successfully. With a nodd he watched Kim. She seemed like she had no clue what to do, as she shouted "Accio" A lock from the bakc of the room flew toward her at full force. She let out a cry and went to save Ginny. Quickly picking up his wand, Filius waved it as the Lock froze in mid air. Nearly 5 inches away from Ginny and Kim.
"Kimberly Sullivan, if you didnt understand what to do you could have just asked." Filius assured as he nodded his head. "Come up here please." He said as he flicked his wand and a desk magicly moved next to Filius's. With a Second flick the lock that was froze in the air flew towards the desk and sat nicely on top. With a Smile Filius went on. "Kimbery, I would like you do do the spells up here so I can help you. If you have any questions feel free to ask! I wont be angry." he said with a smile as he went and sat down at his own desk and waited for Kim to go to her new seat and the other students to start.

Kim looked up to see the lock stop right by her. Professor Flitwick then whizzed a table up to the front of the room and a chair and the lock too. Grabbing her wand Kim stood up and walked over to the chair and sat down, looking at her lock. She knew how to unlock it, Alohamora, her mum used that spell a lot too whenever Kim lost the house keys. Shaking her wand up and down she aimed at the lock "Alohamora!" She said as she shook her wand feverishly to make it work yet nothing happened. "Alohamora!" She again said as she shook the wand sideways this time. "Umm, Professor it's not working" Kim said as she shook her wand trying to get it to work again. “My wand doesn’t always work, sometimes I have to shake it a lot to make it work” she added as she continued to shake it.

Ginny smiled as Kim sat down next to her, she was a very friendly girl who sometimes talked a lot about things people didn't really understand, it was really a chore to follow some of her conversations. No sooner had she sat down though then there was a crashing noise from her bag, a broken ink bottle was the culprit and the result was a mess. Kim's attempt at a charm was way off and she asked for help. Taking out her own wand, Ginny pointed at the ink bottle "Scourgify" she said and the blue ink vanished, "reparo" she calmly said which sent the bottle back to it's original condition. "Replevio" Ginny finished and refilled the ink bottle. "Kim you have to learn these, they're really important, not just for OWLS but for basic functioning."
Class began and they were to summon locks and unlock them, then relock them. A simple task but it was good review since Ginny was unable to use magic all summer long. While she removed her wand from her pocket she heard Kim playing around casting silly spells. All of the sudden though Kim let out a shriek and shoved Ginny away. Falling to the floor she looked up in time to see a lock flying right at her! Miraculously the lock stopped in front of her and then Professor Flitwick called Kim up to the front.
Getting up off the floor, Ginny took her seat and was now alone, but perhaps it was for the best, being safe was often more important then being with company. Turning to the back wall she raised her wand "Accio lock!" She said as a gold lock flew towards her. Reaching out she grabbed it and set it down on her desk and looked at it. It was just a simple lock, nothing unusual about it. "Alohamora" she said as she touched the lock with the tip of her wand causing the lock to instantly pop open. After the incident in the Ministry of Magic last June, Ginny had fully mastered this charm as it had been vital to her still being alive to get doors open and lock them. Setting her wand down she looked around at the rest of the room and saw students enjoying themselves, having great fun. Ginny sighed as her mind raced back to that night and the long summer with constant rumors about what You-Know-Who was up to and where he was. It was a relief to be back at Hogwarts though where everyone was happy, they hadn't lived such a stressful summer and weren't constantly worried about when something awful might happen next.

He had been looking at the locks, focusing--thought not yet ready to call for it, when he saw one go flying towards a small group of Hufflepuffs, followed by a loud screech. He looked over to see a girl named Kim that he remembered from playing Quidditch being called up by the professor.
He shook his head slightly, looking back at the locks and trying to give them his full attention. He knew that his was of mastering was slightly different then oters. While others tried over and over, praticing a charm or spell, he just watched it. He focused and thought until he was sure that he would get a result. He only focused on the locks for a short time longer--this was one of his favorite charms, and he often used it when he was in the library and lost track of time--resulting in almost being late to class.
"Accio Lock" He called pointing his want towards the stack of locks for the students to pratice on.
The lock came at him, the direction slightly more left of center than he would have wished, but he caught it and set it down ont he desk in front of him. He then pointed his wand again, moving it slightly as he seemed to almost be mumbling to hismelf, only there were not words. He was focused planning how to best say his charm and wave his want to get he results he needed. He had read about this spell some time ago--but he had hardly even praticed it.
Long moments of time passed, and it seemed that most of the students had already done their charm, or at least were attempting, before he pointed his wand again.
"Alohamora" he called, and with an akward learch, the lock clicked open. It was not exactly the swipt motion that he wished it was, but at least it was a result.

Filius saw Kim walk up to the desk he set up for her. Watching her she started on the spell. "Humm well How about you dont shake your wand around during the spell." With a comforting smile he took his wand and just demonstrated the movement. "Try this, A clockwise circle." Flitwick demonstrated slowly. "Then a quickly but light Flick." He flicked his wand also to finish the spell. " Kimberly, also dont expect a result at once. If something doesnt happen, take a breath and try again, calmly." he said as he nodded and motioned for her to try again.

Syd smiled at Kamron as he introduced himself. With a nodd Syd thought to herself, "I know." but she didnt dare say it out loud. She makes it a goal to know everyone in the school. Not personally, but just a name. Just a little joy she does to brighten up her own day.
Professor Flitwick started the class. He told everyone what they had to do, as he let them on their own. Holding up her wand she looked it over. She hasnt use it in awhile. Holding it she pointed to the back of the room. "Accio Lock!" she said as a lock flew her way, which she caught in her hand. With a giddy smile she set it on the desk. Pointing her wand at it she said, "Alohamora!" the lock merely clicked a few times. Shrugging it off she tryed again. "Alohamora!" the lock clicked again and jerked on the table. Turning to Kamron, he seemed to be stuck at the same point she was. Looking back at her own lock she tryed again. "Alohamora!" the lock clicked once and opened on to the desk. with a proud look on her face she took a breath and went for the last spell. "Colloportus." She said calmly as the lock quickly locked back up. "YAY!" she yelled as she quickly smiled embarrassed and picked up her lock.
Looking around the rooms he noticed no one was in line to go to The professor's desk to show him their work. With a shrugg Syd stepped out of her row and went to his desk. He was working with Kim at the moment, so Sydney stayed quiet untill he was done.

Kim watched and listened. No shaking the wand? That wouldn't really work would it? A slow circle? huh, whatever Kim thought as she gave it a go. Waving her wand slowly in a circle then flicking it hard she said "Alohamora!" , yet the lock remained firmly locked. She tried it again, and again, and yet again and still the lock remained shut. Finally she began to circle her wand repeatedly and flicked it every now and then while repeating "Alohamora" over and over. Kim looked over her shoulder at the rest of the class while continuing her routine, most of the others were about at the same place she was. When she turned back to her lock she found it had opened, magically! "Hey! How'd that happen!?" She asked as she curiously picked up her lock and looked at it. Raising her hand to get the Professor's attention, she asked "What am I supposed to do now?"
