Trinity watched the bubbles begin to rise slowly from the bottom of her cauldron and smirked anxiously. She had read about the Draught of Peace and was excited to make it, hands on was her favorite form of potions.
She reached to the shelf in front of her and grabbed a tube of lacewing flies, opening the cap she began to pour. A few gell onto the miniature scale she pulled from her bag, she took exactly 5 grams from the container, tightened the cap and carefully placed it back onto the wooden shelf.
She took a tiny silver spoon and began to crush the flies, one by one, making sure they were perfect. She lifted the wooden crushing board and scraped the lacewing flies into the, now boiling profusely, cauldron.
She looked back to the wooden shelf and grabbed the powdered moonstone, opening the cap and setting it on the table. She cleaned her her spoon on a velvet clothe next to her and then began to measure out the moonstone, 10 grams exactly. She placed the container back onto the shelf and then slid the moonstone into the cauldron.
She picked up the enormous wooden spoon and stirred the now off white potion three times, counterclockwise. She pulled the spoon from the potion and let the rest of the potion drip before aiming her wand at it, charming it to be spotless again. She set the spoon on the table and looked at the clock to wait for seven minutes to pass.
Trinity turned to Dawn, "How's the potion coming?" she asked.

Perseus smirked as Snape told him that he would be able to do the potion by himself; he never really fancied working with a partner anyways. After jotting down the instructions for the Wolfsbane potion, Perseus unsheathed his wand and pointed it at the base of his cauldron, muttering a spell. A jet of flame poured forth from his wand, lighting a fire under his cauldron. He took out a thermometer and meticulously lowered it into the middle of the cauldron. The mercury immediately hit the 100 degrees Celcius mark and Perseus set to work. 1. Pour 4 gallons of fresh water into cauldron and bring the temperature up to 100 degrees C. First, he added 10 pounds of frozen Ashwinder eggs and waited for them to melt. As he waited, Perseus watched the 6th and 7th year Gryffindors, laughing as many of them missed steps in the instructions, which would unambiguously lead to disaster. After the Ashwinder eggs melted, Perseus skinned four Abyssian shrivelfigs and added it to the amalgamation. He stirred 6 times counterclockwise and then 6 times clockwise before waiting for 5 minutes. Then, he added 5 milliliters of salamander blood. He took the ladel once again and stirred 3 times counterclockwise and 4 times clockwise.
Perseus paused for a moment to consult his notes and immediately took up four powdered bicorn horns and dropped them into his concoction and stirred the potion 5 more times in a counterclockwise motion. After doing that, Perseus crushed a moonstone into dust and added the fine powder into the solution. He turned back to his notes and took 10 grams of aconite, dropping it into the potion. After stirring 6 more times in a clockwise direction, Perseus sat back to inspect his work. Scrutinizing the coloration, Perseus found that his potion was exactly as Snape described it; it had a silvery look like melted silver, but had a watery consistency, and smoke was billowing out of his cauldron. It looked like a pensieve on fire. Perseus scooped up some of his potion and put it into a goblet and presented it to the Professor before returning to his seat, anticipating Snape's approval.

Bee smiled warmly at Cass as she entered the Potions classroom. "Hey Cass! Oh, the usual; studying." She laughed lightly. She looked around the dungeon and noticed how many Slytherins there were. She saw McGrogan and Bulstrode also here. She didn't want to be sitting close to them, considering they were Queens. She looked up as another girl entered. Bee recognized her as Roxanne, a girl who was in Bee's year and house. "Yeah sure." She motioned toward a seat next to her and then looked at the group. Kat, Cass, and Roxanne.
"Well, shall we get started?" she asked dully; Potions was by far her least favorite class. She put two gallons of water into her cauldron, and turned up her temperature to the right degrees needed. She added nine dried nettles and crushed the five snake fangs. She always had hated crushing things; but she had to do it, and she did. After that was added, she waited to see what color her potion would take. She prayed that it would be at least a whitish color....yellow. Stinking yellow. Bee glanced up at Professor Snape and, hoping he hadn't noticed, hastily added the five stewed horned slugs. She watched as her potion bubbled with disgust. Bee took the cauldron off the fire and waited for what she thought was about a minute and then added the porcupine quills. Now, if her potion turned green she would be so happy. It turned out to be a very dark shade of green and Bee noticed in dismay that it was supposed to be light green. She felt like kicking something, but she restrained herself. Her potion was smooth, but so dark a green. She sighed and slid her chair away from the cauldron, looking at the others to see how they were doing.

Trinity looked towards the clock and realizes that it had been exactly 7 minutes. She reached for the shelf and grabbed the bottle of hellebore syrup. She pulled the dropper from the top and added to drops to her bubbling potion. She put the dropper back into the bottle and set it back on the shelf, reaching for the bottle of salamander blood. With one hand she grabbed the spoon and began to stir the potion, three times counter clockwise then immediately added four drops of salamander blood. She set the bottle back onto the shelf and set her spoon to the side. She smirked slightly as whisp of silvery vapor rose from the now clear potion, she had done it correctly. She sat smirking, waiting for Snape's approval.

Millicent sent a court nod in greeting to Trinity who she barely knew when they were introduced and accepted the handshake. “No we haven’t but it’s a pleasure to formally make your acquaintance.” Millicent said formally – not being rude – just behaving as she was raised to. She then watched Dawn add the proper amount of water and looked up at the board for the next instruction. ‘2. Add 10 pounds of frozen Ashwinder eggs and wait for them to melt. it read and Millicent waited for the water to boil which would indicate it had reached 100. ‘A watched pot never boils’ as the old saying goes and so to pass the time Millicent played with her quill – a habit of old. Finally in a few minutes the surface of the water began to bubble and steam began to rise and fill the air. Using her wand Millicent summoned exactly ten pounds – no more no less – of Ashwinder eggs to rise into the air and slowly lower themselves into the cauldron. Now was time for more excruciating waiting – how fun. Millicent kept half an eye on the eggs to see when they would melt as her quill did flips through her fingers.

((Sorry! I've been pretty busy the last few weeks, and haven't been able to get on for about 20 minutes a couple few days. Our family's been doing a lot of stuff together too so... yeah...))
Maddie noticed everyone else starting to make their potions. She must have not been paying very much attention... She grabbed her papers, and reviewed what she need to do, in order to make the potion.
Wound Sealing Potion: 1. Add 2 gallons of clean water into your cauldron and bring the temperature up to 100 degrees C. 2. Add 10 dried nettles into the water once it begins to boil and begin crushing your 5 snake fangs and add them in after they have become a fine powder. 3. When the potion has taken on a milky-white color, add 5 stewed horn slugs. 4. Take the cauldron off the fire and wait for 1 minute for it to cool and add porcupine quills. 5. The potion should be a light green color, very smooth.
She already had her cauldron out, so she added the two gallons of clean water that was needed. She then put the temperature up to 100 degrees C. She waited patiently for the cauldron to start bubbling, which means that it was time to add the next ingredient. So, she put in the ten dry nettles, and began to crush the snake fangs. She did this very carefully for a while, until that had turned into some sort of power. She picked up the cutting board, and held it over the cauldron, and carefully, scraped the powder into the cauldron. She then stared into her cauldron, waiting for it to change color.

Severus watched as Mr. Emerald and Mr. Feynman brought him samples of their potions. He scrutinized each one and found them to be exceptionally well done. It was not more than he had anticipated, but they were better than their usual work. Standing up, he strode toward Mr. Emerald and Mr. Feynman with their samples. "See here," he said. "These are exceptionally well done potions, excellent examples of a wound-sealing potion and a Wolfsbane potion. Twenty points to each of you for Slytherin." Severus strode toward another Slytherin, Ms. Holden. He looked at her potion and approved, "Good work, good work, Ms. Holden. Ten points for Slytherin." Then, he turned toward Ms. Jade, saying, "Excellent work, ten points for Slytherin."
After jotting down their scores for the day on a peice of parchment, Severus rounded on a Gryffindor who had obviously done her potion wrong. He strode over to her cauldron with an adverse expression on his face. "Ms. Vreeland, dark green..... Are you blind? My instructions clearly state that it should have a light green color. Your texture is fine, but the coloration obviously shows a lack of effort. I will have to take ten points from Gryffindor, and be glad that it isn't more. -He turned to the rest of the class- You have twenty more minutes to finish your potions." He was glad that this class was half an hour longer than usual.

Dawn watched as Perseus and Drake finished their potions. Fourty points. We do deffinatly need it. Dawn smiled as Snape always was a truthful teacher. He gave points to whom needed it, and whom didn't. Professor Snape began to talk to a Gryffindor about her Potion. Dawn didnt pay attention. Looking at the water, Dawn saw Millie add the eggs. They only took about a minute or so to melt. Going on Dawn read the board.
3. Skin four Abyssian shrivelfigs and add it to the potion.
That was easy enough. Dawn held a Abyssian shrivelfig and began to skin it. She normally let her wand do the magic. But Dawn decided to get into the potion. After four of them were skinned she put them into the potion. Taking her spoon she stired it 6 times counterclockwise as well as 6 times clockwise. When she finished she read on.
5. Wait for 5 minutes before adding 5 milliliters of salamander blood.
Looking up at the clock Dawn marked the time as she sat down. Turning towards Trinity, who previously asked her a question she replied. "Its going quite good. As far as I can see the consitency is up to par. We'll see when it finishes." Dawn said as she turned to Millie. "Any grand Summer plans?" She asked as Dawn's eyes flickered as she ment her Birthday.
Five minutes passed as Dawns tood back up again. Taking her spoon she stired the potion 3 times counterclockwise and 4 times clockwise.

Pyro sat and glanced around the classroom. When he noticed that the other students had already started their potions he cursed to himself for letting himself phase out like that. He hastily took out his cauldron and set up his work area. Pyro had never shown much interest in potions, but recently he'd had time to think and he noticed that he didn't have any idea on what to do once he left school. Now that he had no family and his magical prowess were a bit, mediocre, he decided to turn to potion making. After his success at making the smokescreen agent he began to study potions a bit more.
After he placed 2 gallons of clean water in his cauldron he used his wand to start a fire under it. He waited for the water to reach the correct temperature. While doing that he took out 10 dried nettles, 5 snake fangs, 5 stewed horn slugs, and 5 porcupine quills. He set them aside for now. After the water reached 100 degrees C. Pyro added the dried nettles into it. He than began to crush the snake fangs into a fine powder.
It took him a few moments but soon the fangs were fine powder and Pyro added them to the brew. Pyro watched his potion until it became milky white, than he added added the stewed horn slugs. Lifting the cauldron off the fire and setting it aside he occupied himself for the 1 minute he was suppose to wait by putting out the fire. Once that was done and the minute had passed he added the last ingredient, the 5 porcupine quills.
When everything was finished Pyro looked into the cauldron at the green substance. He grinned, the potion looked nearly perfect.

After she stirred the potion she glanced back up at the board.
7. Add four powdered bicorn horns before stirring the potion 5 more times counterclockwise.
Dawn Looked beside her, where she already had the bicorn horns. Picking up four of them she dropped them into the potion. Quickly she began to stir it five more time counterclockwise. Sitting back down she took a moonstone and began to crush it into fine powder. As soon as she finished she placed it into the potion. Dawn adored school. Well only classes that were worth her time. A pureblood needs to be smart as well as cunning. After six years of school the smart part was finally catching up to her born slyness.
9. Take 10 grams of aconite/monkshood/wolfsbane and stir 6 times clockwise.
That was what the board read. Measuring perfectly, she put aconite into her potion. Stirring it six times clockwise, Dawn stood over her potion. After a few seconds, the potion began to change color. Smoke began to float out of her cauldron as she narrowed her eyes. She wanted to smile but, she had a little too much on her mind. Taking a sample, Dawn walked to Snape's desk. She set it down as she turned back to her seat.

Once Maddie's potion had turned the milky-white color, it was supposed to, she began to hurry, remembering that Snape had said that they only had thenty more minutes to complete their potions. She added the five stewed horn slugs, and took the cauldron off of the fire, carefull to wait exactly one minute.
Once she had waited a minute, she remembered that Snape had said to add about five or six porcupine quills. So, just to be safe, she addeded six and waited for a few seconds. Finally, the potion turned a light green color, and Maddie sighed with releif. She took a sample of her Potion, and put it in the little bottle. She then took it up to Snape, waiting for his approval.

"Excellent, Ms. McGrogan, Ms. Bulstrode. Another exemplary potion and another 20 points a each for Slytherin," Severus said as he inspected the sample he was given. He noticed that a few people were still not finished and looked at them with disdain; they would be staying after class to finish their work or else they would have to do it for homework. Spotting another finished potion, Severus strode towards its owner. Looking at Mr. Blackfire, Severus commented, "This is another exceptionally well done potion. Ten more points will be awarded to Slytherin.-He turned to Ms. Kenacheack.- Ten points for you, too.-Then Severus turned to the class.- For all of you who are not finished with your potions, you will either finish it after class or redo it for homework. The homework will be to write an essay about the various uses of the potions you have just concocted. It is to be handed in a week from today and must be at least three pages worth of parchment."
((There actually will not be any homework.))
