It wasn’t summer. Actually it wasn’t really warm spring either. When someone said spring everyone usually thought of may, late April when tulips and other flowers started to bloom, the sunshine simply drew you outside and life on the whole seemed to pretty. The warm weather hadn’t reached Hogwarts yet. But it was already spring. The dropping of an icicle and the first thrillers of the very earliest birds told that much. Nevertheless, here behind the Hogwarts castle, where the castle itself blocked the bit chilly wind and the sun warmed you - it was rather pleasant already. At the very least Dana felt herself quite warm and content as she was stretched out on a wooden picnic table situated here. The black clothing she wore was doing it’s part in making sure the sun kept her warm as well.
One more bonus to dressing in black really. Not only did the colour make you appear slim – even if Dana being fit enough didn’t really need this effect – it also made you appear chic and stylish and drew sunrays to you. One more reason to wear black. It wasn’t the most happiest colour and required a strong character to wear it our proudly. But Dana didn’t have too much time to be a child anymore either. After her grand-parents passing away and inheriting a small business empire from them Dana had been a busy girl outside school as well. Not to mention apparition lessons she was taking as after turning 17 in May she would be allowed to use apparition as a measure of transport. But Dana didn’t want to think of all that. Not today. Not when the sun was showing itself fully again after the dreadful winter months.
Dana shifted slightly bending her right leg from the knee and placing her foot on the table-top as well while her left leg swung freely over the edge. Turning her head Dana peered upwards locating the bag consisting of the things she had bought earlier from Hogsmeade. While Dana wasn’t really a fan of chocolate and ate it very rarely – a fact that always shocked her friends – she had bought herself some sweets from Cat’s Cubby. She had gotten along rather well with the previous Head Girl of Hogwarts. She had even worked as a chef at the Cubby at one point before things simply got too busy for her to continue. But she still dropped by from time to time, especially since the sweets they sold there were the best. Even now Dana picked up a big box of chocolate covered cherries. Sliding the nail of her index finger under the wrapping Dana opened the box and threw one of the sweets into her mouth. Closing her eyes with pleasure at the taste Dana laid back onto the table placing the box with sweets next to her picking up a cherry form time to time. Dana grinned to herself at the sudden thought that she might remind a lizard sleeping on a sunny rock on the table right now, but this thought didn’t really bother her. Besides she wasn’t exactly sleeping right now… she was just… Dana just existed at that moment without any proper thought passing through her mind.
