Rosaliz sat in a pool of moonlight on the Hogwarts grounds. There was something about the moon that had always been comforting to her. Now she needed it. With her father threatening to take her away from Hogwarts, and of course the recent problems with all the Death Eaters, she just needed time to think. I sighed for what seemed the hundredth time today, and plopped down onto the springy grass, drawing my knees up to my chest and hugging them. So much had changed since a year before. In reality it was really less than a year. The Death Eaters were out and about, and any minute could chose to make an appearance at Hogwarts. The forest had never really interested Rosaliz much before, only a symbol of mystery and danger that she'd never wanted to go into. The forest was a mass of blackness... and foreboding with the new dangers inside. Strange to think that with its newest threat of the Death Eaters, she suddenly wanted to go inside and explore the trees. But possible injury and death wasn't the only thing on my mind tonight. Something else...on the positive side, and yet, it was causing me a bit of grief too. "Attacks..." she whispered into the light wind. She wasn't sure of her own feelings, but was almost certain everything had its reasons. Allowing herself a small smile, her stomach did the tiniest series of somersaults as she remembered our hug in the Great Hall and hospital wing. It was like nothing she'd ever felt before, exciting and frightening at the same time. She just didn't know what to do...her brain and heart were all jumbled up.
Sitting in the light of the almost full moon she instantly felt calmer than she had before. Every blade of grass was tinted pearly gray with sharp shadows that felt like they would slice you if you weren't careful. They sky was breath taking, filled with millions and millions of stars, all visible on this cloud free night.... and it was doubled in beauty. The lake reflected the sky perfectly, not a ripple disfigured the clear surface. After staring at it for so long she began to wonder which was the real thing and which image the reflection. For as long as she could remember the moonlight had helped her. When she younger and was scared at night from the believing they lived under her bed, she'd clutch her stuffed bear and sit on her window seat bathed in moonlight for protection. When her mother had died she had gone up onto her roof and sat in the light of the full moon for hours and just cried. It had always been there for her as a source of comfort. Lighting her way. Now she needed its calming, cool feeling once more. And she wasn't disappointed. Rosaliz clutched her robes to her tighter and sat still as can be in the warm breezy night. She closed letting the warm breeze wash over her, soothing all the turmoil that was churning inside. She'd always preferred the night to the day, probably because less people were out and it just seemed calmer in a way. She definitely wanted...needed a little peace. Taking her time with each step, eyes kept on the grass that was stained a slight shade of silver from the moonlight; she made my way out further onto the lawn. As another small gust blew at her hair, she closed her eyes again and let herself be lost in the night.

Fiona sat on the stairs leading up to Hogwarts. She couldn't stop thinking about her Christmas break. Things were going to be different. She was going to be happier, but could she really believe that things would be better. Of course he had promised they would, but what could he really promise her? Everyone that he was dead. Everyone knew he was dead, but Fiona knew otherwise. She knew the truth and what an awful truth it was. Fiona leaned back against the castle wall. The coolness of the wall startled her and she sat up quickly. She shook her head at her own foolishness and gingerly rested her back against the wall, taking it in the cool moist stones. There was just something about Hogwarts at night. It was like nothing she could ever imagine. It was one of the best things about Hogwarts. Something she didn't want to leave behind, but she knew that the time was coming closer and if the Death Eaters and Voldemort came out victorious Hogwarts would either not stand or would be ruled by purebloods, the worthiest ones. Fiona smiled at the thought. Some day, soon, she would be able to walk the halls of Hogwarts without worrying about being touched by a mudblood or one of their supporters. The thought made Fiona's lip curl up and she sat up. She couldn't stand those mudbloods and she would be damned to let them stand in her way.
At this thought, Fiona saw a shadow move somewhere in the grass. She squinted into the distance, but she could see nothing but darkness. Fiona raised an eyebrow and took out her wand ready to attack anyone that might be wandering around the grounds at night. She stood at the slight movement and ducked into the blackness. She could avoid being seen if she wanted to, but most of the time she could careless. However, tonight seemed to be the perfect time for people to attack. The moon though bright, was hardly bright enough to light the grounds of Hogwarts. Fiona slunk through the grounds avoiding anywhere that was more illuminated than the last. As she neared the moving shadow she paused and pointed her wand at the darkness. "LUMOS!" Fiona exclaimed. A blast of light exploded from her wand and she looked into a familiar face. "Rosaliz?" Fiona asked in question as she lowered her wand slightly. She looked hard at the girl seeing if it was really who she thought it was.

Rosaliz continued walking in her thoughts when she suddenly saw a bright flash of light in her eyes not allowing her to see. Immediately she took out her wand. She was always prepared of anything that was yet to come. But then noticed that the wand of light had moved down away form her face. She was able to see who was standing in front of her. It was Fiona. Or was it just her mind? She couldn’t since she had been longing to talk to Fiona and sometimes dreamt that she did talk to her until she noticed it wasn’t for real. Not again she whispered. Yet Fiona was still standing. It was her! When was the last time she had seen Fiona? She couldn’t remember but she knew that it was a while ago and she had important news to talk about with her. The news had been dreading in her head, bothering her day and night. She continued having flash backs of her uncles face. He looked out of his mind. Yes she needed to talk to Fiona about her uncle. Why is this? Because her aunt and uncle were her only family relatives left and she just felt that she lost him. She only had her aunt now. The person that she had to stay close to. Her aunt who resembled her mother in many ways not just by the looks but also by their personalities. This seemed like a perfect time to talk about it. But what if Fiona didn’t want to? What if she didn’t feel like it…did Fiona have a problem? Why would she be out so late? “Hey Fiona! What are you doing here? I thought I was by myself but I’m glad to see you. How are you?” she asked with a smile on her face trying to hide her worries that showed in her eyes.

Fiona continued to squint at the girl until a familiar voice filled her ears. Fiona nodded and smiled lightly. It was definitely Rosaliz. "Nox," Fiona said. The light at the end of her wand went out quickly. Darkness filled in around them. She could not see Rosaliz in the darkness, but she knew her eyes would adjust. She didn't want to keep her wand lit with all the problems going on recently. She preferred to be ahead of people in the situation involving Voldemort. She didn't want anyone else to have a heads up on her. Fiona carefully placed in wand in her pocket as she tried to make out where Rosaliz was standing. There was something about the way Rosaliz had said hello to her that had made her feel like something else was really going on. Fiona had no idea what it could be. She hadn't talked with Rosaliz in a very long time. It seemed that they just didn't have time to talk with each other except through these deserted encounters when no one else could see or hear them.
"Hello Rosaliz. I'm out for a late night stroll across the grounds. I was actually just sitting up near the doors when I saw movement. I was hoping it was an unsuspecting first year. It would have been more entertaining to watch them freak out, but anyway, I'm doing okay. What about you? You look a little upset," Fiona shrugged as looked at the casual outline of Rosaliz. Her eyes were starting to adjust and that was something she liked. She blinked and then the world turned take again, but her eyes adjusted much quicker this time around. Meanwhile, Fiona was trying to listen to what Rosaliz was saying.

Rosaliz listened to Fiona's reply and question she had for her. "What about you? You look a little upset," Fiona had said. Rosaliz was well hiding her emotions and it clearly showed that she had been up set. I'm I that bad? She asked herself. Rosaliz looked at Fiona and said; "Well I'm my normal usual self just consisting on the events that happened last weekend." she finished taking in a breath of air. This was going to take a while but it looked she had plenty of time to did so. She felt a tear tickle down her face. She was furious at this. She knew that if she ever would serve the dark lord one day she would have to be strong. She wiped it off and then continued anger, but yet fear. Fiona last week I left Hogwarts with my aunt since it was 'an emergency' I thought what else could it be? Since as you know my parents are dead. ON the other hand I got a jolt in my stomach when it came to the thought of my uncle. He was in Azkaban! But for what?”
“When I walked into Azkaban close to my aunt, I barely recognized him. His face was completely distorted. My aunt had to me little since she was afraid that she'd scare me but she told me that he became death eater, which made him prosperous to the dark lord. He kept asking my aunt for forgiveness but she refused. My aunt stated to him to stay away from me and her." Rosaliz felt her eyes fill with tears. Her aunt and uncle were the only two family members she had left. This had ripped her apart emotionally making her feel as if she had only one family member. ‘I must stay near my aunt. What ever happens to her I’ll be there near here so I’ll never lose her. And if I do I’ll be there leaving with her.’ she thought. "Fiona I don't want to be alone by myself if my aunt dies that's why I want to stay close to her. It feels as if my history is repeating it's self. First it was my mother, then my father, my uncle...pretty soon it will be my aunt. Last but not least me." she finished crying. What she didn't know was that this was foreshadowing the future and it was going to happen.

Fiona took a seat across from Rosaliz. The moonlight silhouetted Rosaliz's face in the darkness. The ground was cold and a little damp. However, Fiona gave it no notice as Rosaliz began her story of the events that happened to her last week. Fiona wondered what had been so awful that it made Rosaliz act in this unusual way.
The words Azkaban came out of Rosaliz's mouth and Fiona looked up startled by the words. Her uncle's in Azkaban. I wonder why? Fiona's thoughts were answered not long afterward as Rosaliz continued on about him being a Death Eater. Fiona knew that Rosaliz only had her uncle and aunt left. This had to have ripped their small family apart. Fiona knew her assumption was right when Rosaliz said her aunt told her uncle to stay away from them. She noticed Rosaliz's eyes fill with tears in the darkness that she had become accustomed to. She instinctively put out her hand on to Rosaliz's. "Everyone dies Rosaliz. Some times people just leave before we want them to. Your uncle isn't dead yet. If he was a Death Eater, the Dark Lord will come for him. As for your aunt. She will be fine. She'll understand and she might even take your uncle back in. Rosaliz you're not going to die yet. You're too young to die. Besides you have nothing to worry about. The Dark Lord will gain control of the wizarding world and then the muggle world. We won't have anyone to fear for long. We will be at the top of the food chain and the Dark Lord will make sure we are treated as we should be," Fiona said with confidence. She didn't know if her words would help Rosaliz, but she felt that they would. They made her feel better for the future. She sighed quietly as she watched Rosaliz.

Rosaliz stood there and couldn’t believe what Fiona just said. The statements rang in her head. Fiona had said “Rosaliz you're not going to die yet. You're too young to die. Besides you have nothing to worry about.” Rosaliz opposed to this idea. What did she mean she was to young to die? That she wasn’t going to die. “What about the time of my party? Wasn’t I so close to death? The muggles had said I died and they revived me. They had said that I had very little chance of surviving but got transferred to ST. Mungos. Or the time when I almost killed my self when I found out my father died? And during the Diagon alley attacks. Death is all around me Fiona. It’s all around me” She fell on her knees and began crying. She knew everything was true and how much luck she had survived each and every incident. There would always be a time when she wouldn’t be able to slip and leave. There will be a time that she’d get stuck and killed.

Fiona bit her bottom lip. Rosaliz did have a good point, but she was still here. There was a reason for that. There was always a reason for everything. She wasn't supposed to die then and she's not supposed to die now. Fiona just needed to convince her of that. But there wasn't much you could do about that. Would Rosaliz actually listen to her? Maybe, but would she actually hear what she was saying and take it into consideration? There were always so many if, and's, and but's, but it never seemed like anyone of them would be good enough to convince someone of something. Fiona pulled her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them as she looked at her friend in the darkness. The moonlight shone just faintly enough that Fiona could make out a few features on Rosaliz's face. Fiona just sat watching her friend cry. She didn't know what to do. She didn't know how to help her, especially if she was just going to cry. However, the thought of when Rosaliz was there for her when she was crying of her parent's death. She unwrapped her arms and laid a hand on Rosaliz's back. "But you're not dead yet and neither am I. Yes, death is all around us, especially now, but when the Dark Lord finally takes over this world we will be safe. Even in death there is happiness. I know because my da is not dead. He is alive. Working for the Dark Lord from what I know. He tells me that what's happening is very important and that soon we won't have to worry about anything anymore. The Dark Lord's time of reign is coming soon, sooner than we think. Rosaliz you can't give up on the Dark Lord. He will come through for us and we will see his glorious coming! Just remember that you are not dead...all those times you could have died and didn't. You see you're not next, there's a reason you're alive and it must be great, because of all the close calls. You may never know why, but it's safe to say that you won't be dying anytime soon," Fiona finished. She didn't know if her words would be enough to help Rosaliz, but she at least felt that they were well spent. She rubbed Rosaliz's back gently as she waited for her to stop crying. ((Sorry it took so long...been so busy. ))
