It was a Friday evening, around 4:00. Classes were over for today, for Maddie, and she only had a little bit of homework to do. So, Maddie was in a good mood. What a great way to start out the weekend? She was in the Slytherin girls' dorm, finishing up her homework. When she was finally finished, she put her books and papers back into her bag, and left them on her bed.
She decided to change before she went anywhere else, so she searched through her trunk for something comfortable to put on. She finally picked out a slightly loose, gray tank top, and blue sweat shorts. She looked into the mirror, to see what she looked like. Well, nothing classy, but, it'll do.
She walked out of the common room, and strolled around the halls for a while. She noticed that it was a beautiful day outside. So, she decided to go outside for a while. She picked her favorite spot. Some place a little by the lake, under one of the huge trees. She was, like always, bored. So, she sat under the tree, hoping that someone, that had something actually good to talk about, or something good to do.

Bee was feeling great today. She had escaped classes without almost any homework and no she was in the library, finishing what she had to do. It was very quiet, so quiet you could hear people breathing. Bee sighed and stood up; she had finished. She stuffed everything in her bag and stood up wearily, unsure where to go. She decided to go try out the common room, but if that was noisy she would be out of there. She walked out of the library and headed toward the Gryffindor common room. Her footsteps echoed down the deserted corridor. Bee climbed the staircase feeling as if her bag was cutting into her shoulder. Once there, she gave the password and found it filled with yelling students and fireworks that were exploding. She grinned but went up to the Girls Dorm and set down her bag next to her bed.
The common room, like she had guessed, had been loud and buoyant, so Bee could be found wondering the halls, looking lost. There's no where to go in this castle. It's all packed or it's all too quiet. She stopped and looked out a window. It was a gorgeous day, and there weren't too many people outside, surprisingly. There would be soon, Bee knew that. Once people realized how nice it was outside, they would be out there. She pushed open the heavy front doors and decided to head toward her favorite spot, the lake.
Bee was wearing a green tang top that matched her eyes and green shorts. She lay down near the lake, close enough for the water to lick her feet. She smiled and closed her eyes against the warming sun. She just loved this time of day. No school work, no Slytherins, just her. She lay there relaxing, until she got a very nasty feeling as if someone was watching her. She sat bold upright and stared around, looking for whoever was looking at her. She saw a figure under the trees. No one else was nearby so she knew that this had to be the girl who was watching her. She sat up and walked toward the tree's shade that was hiding the identity of the figure.
She walked up to the tree and found a girl about her age looking at her. Bee had seen her before but never remembered her name, or even heard it. "Hello," Bee said dully as she sat down next to the girl. She wasn't sure what house this girl was in, considering she wasn't wearing her robe, she just hoped it wasn't a Slytherin.

Maddie sat, under the shaded tree, enjoying her own company at the moment. She looked out onto the lake. She watched the small wave that came up every know in then, from the wind. She actually enjoyed things like this, although she hated to admit it. It was very relaxing, and it reminded her of her grandfather, who had died a couple of months ago. It didn't make her upset though, it gave her a happy feeling. Her grandfather, had been the person that she was closest to, outside her parents and sister. They had almost everything in common, and he rarely ever got mad at her, he always gave her a chance, unlike most people she knew.
Although, she enjoyed a few moments of this, boredom soon came over her, and she found herself looking around at anyone else, to see what they were doing. She didn't find very many students, only a few were out at the time, but they didn't seem that important to her anyway, so she let it go. A few moments later, a girl, that looked about her age, walked over and decided to enjoy the lake as well. Maddie eyed the girl carefully, since she was turned around, Maddie couldn't see her face, so she had no idea who she was.
Maddie watched as the girl suddenly turned around, and look a little frightened, I guess you could say. 'Probably felt that I was watching her.' she thought to herself. Maddie was a little shocked at first, when the girl abruptly came up and sat down next to her. She was wondering why someone would be so upfront, to someone they didn't ever know. Oh well.
She stared at her for a couple of seconds, and realization hit her. She was a Gryffindor, for sure. Maddie had seen her playing for the Gryffindor Quidditch team a couple of times. Great. Just what she needed at a time like this. She used to be a softie for other houses, but she finally came around, and now knew what to do at a time like this. That is, she did, but she put her own little twist to it. "Hello." she said, being extremely way too nice. "Umm... aren't you on the Gryffindor Quidditch team?" she asked, faking to be interested, although, it was quite easy to tell that she wasn't.

Bee waited for a reply from the girl. She seemed a bit stunned at the fact that Bee had just sat down next to her. Isn't that the friendly thing to do? Bee smiled a small smile at her and then leaned back against the tree. The reply came soon after. Bee looked at the lake, not sure that what the girl had said was a nice thing. She sounded like she was pretending to be interested, and Bee hated that. She looked at her closely. Was she a Slyth?
"Yeah, I'm on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. I'm the Beater, actually." Bee looked away, thinking about Quidditch. She was good, I guess one could say, but she had lots of work to do. Her arms were sore from hitting the Bludgers. She sighed and decided it was time to introduce herself. "I'm Bridget Vreeland, by the way, Gryffindor third year. Bee for short."

The girl answered Maddie question, exactly, and Maddie laughed to herself, that she actually answered the question, and didn't get the hint. She then introduced herself, as Bridget Vreeland. A Gryffindor, third year. 'Knew it.' she thought to herself.
Well, if she did, then Maddie might as well too. She turned to face the girl. "Madison Kenacheak, third year, Slytherin." she gave her a smile, that wasn't really freindly, yet, it wasn't really mean, it was inbetween the two, I guess you could say.
"So, what's brings you here?" she drawled, taking on her more casual voice.

Bee gave a little smile and then let her vision stray over to a few Hufflepuffs that were swimming in the lake, which looked very inviting. The girls name was Madison and she was a Slytherin third year. Bee disliked Slyths, but she couldn't say that she hated them. They could be alright at times, but others could be nasty and rude. She tried to look as if this information didn't bother her, but she really didn't want to be associating with a Slytherin. At least she's not throwing insults at me yet.
"Oh, nothing really. Trying to escape from the noise of the common room and the quietness of the library." She said without looking at Madison. She didn't like the smile the Slytherin girl kept giving her, it was like she wasn't trying to be mean, but she wasn't trying to be nice either. Bee didn't like people who couldn't decide what to do, although she could sometimes be that way. She looked around, a cool breeze lifting her blonde hair.
"It's a nice day, isn't it." Bee loved days like this. She mentally kicked herself for talking about the weather with a Slytherin. She probably thinks I'm stupid or something. Bee swallowed the thought away and then took a glance at the girl. Bee was tan and didn't burn easily, so the sun was her friend. She didn't like the shade much. She sighed and leaned back even more.
"I've met a few other Slytherins before," she commented dryly. "You should know them since two of them are in your year and the other one is in fifth year. Mary and Mack are two of them, and I guess you could say that they seem all right. But that Kris Graas, he isn't the nicest character, if I do say so." She smiled and waited for Madison to say something about Kris. To her, Kris was mean and cruel even; she didn't like him much.

Maddie watched as the girl, Bridget, watched some Hufflepuffs swimming in the lake. They were splashing, and making total fools out of themselves, not to mention getting Maddie wet a couple of times, since she was so close to the lake. "That disgusts me." she said dryly, as she moved a little farther back, under the tree, to keep from getting splashed. "I hope one of them lake monsters comes up and gobbles them whole." she said, this time, with a sly jokingness in her voice, and she laughed slightly.
The girl then made a comment about how nice the weather was. Maddie raised her eyebrows and looked over at the girl, but decided not to say anything, so she turned her head forward and muttered, "Whatever."
She then said that she only knew a few Slytherins, Mary, Mack, and Kris, and that she didn't much like Kris. "Yeah," Maddie replied, still in an ignorant tone however. "I know them all. Kris, let's just say that we don't associate very often at all."
"Well, at least I know that any Slytherins, are better than your good-two-shoes, good for nothing, Gryffindor friends." she said, not in an total insulting way, but there was no difference. She didn't like this girl. She was being too cheery, and too upfront about it.

Bee rolled her eyes. "I do hope you are joking, since it would be a much better show if some Slytherin was in the lake getting eaten." she snapped at the girl. Her apparent cheeriness was gone. She didn't like Slytherins for one reason: they think they're better than everyone else. She hated them all, but that didn't stop her from attempting to be nice. She smiled at the part when Madison said whatever to her weather comment. The sign of talking to oneself is the first sign of insanity. She lightened at the thought, but didn't bother to tell this girl off. Bee knew she had forgotten a Slyth to mention...oh yeah, Jack.
"Sadly, I know Jack too. Such an idiot." She said lightly. "As for good for nothing Gryffs, what would that make Slytherins? Lower than the dirt on my shoes, that's what. You must like scum than, Madison. But, I always heard that Slytherins like people like themselves, and you know what that makes you?" A nasty smile played across her lips. She wasn't going to let a Slytherin get to her now.

The girl made a said that it would be much nicer if a Slytherin would be the one to be getting eaten. "I beg to differ, you see, if someone like yourself, a Gryffindor, a Hufflepuff, or most Ravenclaws were to get eaten, escpeically if they're a mudblood or halfblood, it wouldn't matter, because they're useless. But, if a Slytherin were to die, the whole wizarding world would be changed forever, because there would be one less, actually, GOODblooded person. And trust me, I bet that if you were to count every single witch and wizard, there would far too many more halfbloods and mudbloods, than purebloods. God, what is becoming of the wizarding world these days?"
She then said that Jack was an idiot. Jack was one of Maddie's friends, but she decided not to say anything. "Personally, I'm just glad you're not so cheery and nice anymore, it gives me a headache." She then tried to be smart, and make yet another lame comment about Slytherins. "Here I beg to differ as well. You see, us Slytherins are NOT scum. Actaully, you wouldn't be good enough to even walk over us if we were dirt, mudblood. And, what does that make me? Why, it makes me perfect, and better than you, you mudblood, muggle lover, goody-two-shoes, GOOD FOR NOTHING, Gryffindor."

Bee smiled. "Isn't that the point? See, purebloods aren't good and they aren't special. They just think they are. People like you and others who think they're better than people aren't what I call..perfect. They're just normal, like me and others, but they get way to big-headed and start boasting about how they're better than people. You're no different. It would be good to rid this Earth of people like you, since you bring evil and bad to others. I don't understand what's so special about blood. It's all really stupid actually. People like me can be smarter than people like you. Your arrogance blinds you and if you want prove, look at Malfoy and Hermione Granger. Who's the smarter one? And, if you say Malfoy, I'm afraid that would prove you stupid." She added bitterly.
"Yes, I'm a mudblood. What are you going to do about it?" She challenged lightly, her voice never rising. "I'm probably stronger than you, since I do play sports, you know, and I am better than you. Purebloods know it, that's why they hate us so much too. We're better than you. I'm afraid...what where they?... 'insults' don't affect me. It doesn't matter what people like you think. If I was giving you a headache I should really start being cherry again, considering it would be funny, but I'm having way to much fun doing this instead." She turned away from the Slytherin and out at the lake. The Hufflepuffs were still there and Bee gave them a smile. "People like them are worthy of the title witch or wizard." Bee told the girl, her eyes flashing. "I could step on scum any time I want, including you and other Slytherins. Personally, I think Dumbledore should send Slytherins to their own special school to learn special stuff because they're special in their own special way!" She spat the word special and then glared at the girl. She wondered if Madison had gotten her point. By saying special, she meant mentally retarded. She probably won't get it since she's..specail!

((Dude, just to let ya know, I never said, in this post, that Maddie talked to herself. I said that she muttered something, which is simply saying something under your breath or quieter than normal, and I said that she thought something to herself, but everybody does that, now don't they?))
The girl said that purebloods weren't special or important at all, they just thought they were. "Oh, now that's where you're wrong. Ask any elders, they'll say that blood is very important. However, it's different if the elder is close to a mudblood or halfblood, then, they'll probably say that it doesn't matter, but reality check: it does!"
"Also," she said, changing the subject. "To answer your question, no, I would not say that Malfoy was smarter, because I'm not stupid! I am aware that Granger is the brightest witch in Hogwarts, and trust me, I have nothing against her, except her house and blood that is. If you have a problem with that, yell at my parents then, because that's the way I was raised." she had now lost the slyness and meanness in her voice, and was now simply talking.
The girl then said that pureblood didn't like halfbloods or mudbloods, because they were better than them, and they knew it. "As if." she said. "Listen, I pretty sure I speak for all Slytherins when I say this but, we have absolutely no intention what-so-ever, on thinking your sort are better than us." The girl said that those stupid Hufflepuffs swimming in the lake, were the ones worthy of the title of witch or wizard. "Well of course they are, since they've kind of already been named that... duh!" she replied. "No, you know who isn't worthy? People like you. You're the kin of people that always argue about blood, and drive people nuts, other than leaving things the way they are, and leaving everyone alone, like you should."
"As for the special school. Yes, Dumbledore really should make a special school, for only our kind, but not the way you're saying it. Dude, I'm not retarded, I know what you mean, and it's so completely stupid! Why don't you people just leave the whole blood topic alone, and everybody else involved in it?" she asked, she wasn't being mean, yet, she wasn't being nice, again, in-between.

(( Sorry Maddie! Bee was just getting angry and she just thought about it. Sorry, no harm done, hopefully. lol))
Bee rolled her eyes at every word. "I don't need a reality check since I am in the real world!" Bee sighed and was just about to let the matter rest when the girl spoke again. Great, when does she shut it?m She knew that the girl was just talking about what Bee had said, but that didn't stop her from wishing that Madison would just be quiet. Bee had come here looking for some peace and she had just happened to sit down by a Slytherin. Talk about an unlucky day!
"As if!" Bee said, mocking the girls words. She didn't say anything farther until the duh part. "I meant they're more worthy than you. I didn't say that they didn't have the title...duh!" Bee was having fun shooting Madison's words back at her, but that made her sound like a little girl again. She smiled as the girl said she knew what she meant about the being special part.
"Well, I guess you aren't too dumb." Bee said without looking at her. She didn't want to fight any longer. "Yeah, it would be nice if Slytherins had a school of their own, considering no one likes them here!" She frowned and then turned away. What she had said wasn't true at all. Even she had a acquaintance in Slytherin that she didn't really mind.
"We bring it up because we are being treated unfairly because of something we can't control! Don't you realize what it's like for people like me?! We have to deal with insults about something that we have no control over. It's not my fault I'm a muggle born. You could have been too." She shook her head and glanced over at the girl. "Look, I don't want to do this anymore. You can if you want, but I'm just...done."

Maddie gave the girl a sarcastic smile, when she said that she didn't think Maddie was that dumb after all. "Well, I'm glad you think so." she replied.
After the girl had said that all her sort get are insults, and how would Maddie feel if that were her, Maddie answered, "Oh, trust me, I get tons of insults. Not just from school, I get a lot back at home from my so called "friends". I hate to admit it, but they did hurt quite a bit. I soon learned, however, that I don't mind what they say. I don't know about you, but I just ignore them. Unfortunately, I don't care what people think about me, unlike you, obviously. If you don't want to do this anymore, be my guest, to either leave, or we can actually have a real conversation."

Bee gave a small smile but said nothing to Madison's first words. I'm not so sure if you're smart either, but I guess I'll find out soon enough. She grabbed some grass and let the breeze carry it off her palm and into the dazzling lake. The Hufflepuffs were still there, laughing and splashing each other, not yet eaten by a sea monster as Madison had hoped. She smiled at the Hufflepuffs, although they probably didn't see it. She then turned back to Madison, who was saying that she got lots of insults at home by friends. Bee couldn't help but not believe her. She rolled her eyes slightly.
"I'll try to have a real conversation with you. That doesn't mean it'll last long though." She stopped and gave the girl a hard look. If she wanted a real conversation, Madison would have to start it. Bee wasn't going to start talking to the Slytherin like some lost friend of hers. She would wait until Madison started the talking, and if she didn't, Bee would just get up and leave.

Dafydd closed his book as he got up from his chair in the Ravenclaw common room. He had been reading Franklin, something he liked to do when he missed his 3 year old brother Killian.
Stretching his arms in the air, he looked out the window and sighed. It was such a beautiful day out.I should go outside and get some air, he thought to himself.
He walked up the stairs to the room he shared and tossed Franklin onto his bed. Making his way back down the stairs, he took the elastic that was on his wrist and tied back his reddish-blond dreadlocks which had been getting in his face.
Pushing open the big front doors, he stepped outside and began to make his way across the grounds to the lake. He saw a couple people splashing in the lake and began to walk over to them. As he got closer, Daf decided he didn't really want to go swimming. He just wanted to relax.
Making his way to the trees, Daf spotted two girls sitting in what looked like an awkward silence. As he moved closer, he could feel the tension between them.
"Hey, my names Dafydd, but you can call me Daf", he said as he introduced himself, "I only came over because I recognize you. Your the Gryffindor Beater aye? I saw you play in that last game, not bad if I do say so myself. I noticed toward the end of the game your swinging got weaker and weaker though, might want to work on that."
Daf stood there, hoping an invitation to sit down would come. Absentmindedly, he began to play with one of the dreads that had fallen out of his elastic.

Maddie was about to speak up, when a boy, that looked a bit younger than the two of them, introduced himself. She looked at Bridget, not mean, just a look to see what they should do. After a few moments of silence, Maddie spoke up, "Umm... Madison Kenacheak."
"So, what house are you in?" she asked the boy. "Oh, I'm a Slytherin, by the way." she added. She didn't really seem like she was being mean, she didn't really feel like fighting and throwing insults at the moment, like Bridget had said.

Daf listened as one of the girls introduced herself as Madison, a Slytherin. Is she trying to intimidate me?
"Im in Ravenclaw. Do you mind if I sit down? Or were you two busy?"
Daf took the elastic out of his hair and re-put his hair back in, making sure that every dread was carefully locked inside it.

Bee was still waiting when a boy a year younger came over. She smiled at him. He was the boy from the common room. She still didn't know his name, but when he introduced himself as Dafydd, Bee lodged it in her mind. "Bridget Vreeland, Bee if you wish. Yeah, I'm the Gryffindor Beater. I..uh...yeah I guess I should improve on that, it just gets tiring, you know? Hitting a bludger back in forth really gets to your arms." She smiled and then looked as the two introduced themselves. The Hufflepuffs were gone now, so there was nothing to look at. Bee sighed as she looked up at Daf, who still hadn't sat down.
"Sure, you can sit down." Bee said with a look at Madison. She wasn't sure if the Slytherin would like this, but if she didn't, she could just go away.

Daf listened as Bee explained how tiring it was to chase bludgers back and forth the whole match.
Daf sat down across from the two girls and picked a blade of grass and twirling it in his fingers. "Yeah. I understand. I think. Props to you though, I don't think I could do it. I've never actually played. I'm more musically inclined then a sports activist."
Placing the blade of grass in his mouth, Daf began to chew on it. Crossing his legs, he leaned back and lay on the grass.

Maddie watched as the boy sat down across from them. Maddie decided not to say anything however. She also listensed as the two talked about Quidditch a bit, Maddie didn't really pay attention, so she didn't quite hear what they were saying.
She was distugusted, although she didn't show it, when the boy started chewing on a peice of grass. 'How unsanitery.' she thought to herself. Maddie could be a tomboy at times, and she mostly was, but she got grossed out easily. Since nobody was saying anything, Maddie thought that she should break the silence. "Well, does anyone have anything to talk about? Because, otherwise, you two really are wasting my relaxing time. Although, I wouldn't mind having a real conversation, if, as I said before, either of you has anything good to talk about."
