Scott was so hot so he went to the boys common room and got dressed to go in the lake. When he was finished he started down the hall with his towl people were staring at him like he was an idiot but he was in a good mood. So he didn't cuss or call them idiots. When he got outside he saw a teacher so he said "hello".They said hi back and his day got even better. So he laid his towl on the grassy floor of the Hogwarts grounds.

He started to go towards the lake when he got waist deep Scott heared an owl it sounded like his. Scott hasn't got any mail the whole year so he raced out to the owl somebody got there first and was petting him.He started to cuss and yell but the person wouldn't budgeSo Scott started to threaten but the person still would not move. Scott got on land and ran toward the person and his owl. When Scott got there the person gave him his mail. He was surprised that she gave him his mail when he was yelling and cussing and they still gave him his mail. But who was the person?

Scott was sitting there on the beach of the lake the person he saw ran away. Scott stuck his tongue at the person. I hope I'll find somebody who will talk to me not run away!

Sadie didn't mean to run away from the boy, he had just startled her, that was all. She didn't mean to upset him by petting his owl. It was just that her snowy owl had not returned, and she was lonely. She had met a girl earlier that afternoon in the common room, but was not sure if the girl wanted to be friends or not.
She wished that the boy had not yelled at her, for she was on her way down to the lake as well. She loved the water, and was just going to dangle her feet in, but she had ran away from the boy, thinking that he didn't want to be bothered. He could have at least said Thank You for me handing him his mail.She thought to her self as she headed back to the school.

Sadie had been deeply saddened since the boy had yelled at her. She was hoping that since they had both been headed for the same destination that they may talk, and become friends, but now she wasn't so sure.

Scott saw the same person he had yelled at he went over to her. "Why did you pet my owl and who are you?" Thinking that he could still be friends.

" Hi, My name is Sadie." she replied. " I was only petting your owl because it looked a little lonely and my snowy owl hasn't returned from home yet." She explaned. She was glad that the boy had given her a chance to explain now she didn't feel so guilty. " Now that I have introduced myself, what is your name?" Sadie asked. Then she smiled very sweetly at the boy, showing the dimples in her cheeks. She thought maybe there is still a chance for us to be friends, yet she wasn't so sure. Was he a nice boy or did he always yell at people and scare them away. She would have to get to know him better, first.

"My name is Scott Varner a Ravenclaw third year" Scott said proud of being a third year. Now that she told him the reason of petting his owl Scott felt sorry for her. "I am so sorry I yelled at you" he said. Scott felt more happy than mad now in fact he wasn't mad at all.

Sadie gladly accepted Scott's apology. " I'm a first year. I'm in Hufflepuff," she replied. She was glad to see that he was not angry with her anymore. She smiled sweetly and asked him if he would like to walk back down to the lake so that they could get to know each other better.

Scott liked the idea of walking back toward the lake so he said "ok" in a happy tone of voice.

Sadie was glad that he had agreed to walk back down to the lake. She hoped that they could get to know each other better, and maybe become friends. She would just have to wait and see where all of the conversations headed too. She said, " I'm in Hufflepuff, and this is my first year here." She tried to hide that she was nervous, but she wasn't sure if it had worked. She started toward the lake.

Scott liked hufflepuffs because they were so kind and generous. Scott continued to walk to the beach. When they got close to it Scott asked what was her favorite class. After that Scott netioned that his first year was hard because he could barely understand what somebody was saying.

Sadie replied,"So far I like Charms the best, I think after that is Care of Magical Creatures. I know what you mean on the understanding things, I have that same problem occasionally." Scott was the first Ravenclaw that had even acted as if they had noticed Sadie, and she couldn't remember what the sorting hat had said about them, but she liked the way Scott smiled. She thought if they were all like Scott then they couldn't be all that bad.

They had almost reached the lake, now, and Sadie was as nervous as she was when she had very first arrived here.

Scott was happy that she liked charms not potions. Scott saw that she looked nervouse for some reason. Scott hoped that she was okay with him because he kind of needed a friend. Scott only had one girl as a friend before and Scott never sees her so he was hoping that Sadie would be his friend. "Who is least favorite teacher" Scott said out of nowhere.

Sadie happily replied to the question, " I think I can honestly say that Professor Snape is my least favorite teacher. He always calls on the ones that he knows does not know the answer, and I think I'm the only one that doesn't know anything about that class."

She hoped that Scott didn't think that her nervousness was a bad thing. She was only nervous because she had not made but two friends since she had been here, and they were busy with quidditch right now.

She was in need of someone to talk to when things got tough. It's was hard to write home every week and tell her mom and dad that she was having a great time when, truth was, this was only the third time since she had arrived that she had actually enjoyed herself.

Scott was happy that Sadie anserwed with Pf. Snape. Scott kept on walking and was wondering why she was so nervouse. Scott didn't like it when people where sad or nervouse because when they are he doesn't know what to do except say it is okay and do you need anything and stuff like that. He never knew what they want when they are sad.

"Sadie um...would you...like to be friends?" Scott asked nervously because doesn't like when people say no to a yes question.

Sadie thought that Scott would never ask if she wanted to be friends. " Sure." She replied. She wanted to explain to Scott that the reason that she was nervous was that she didn't have many friends here yet. But other than that she didn't know what else was making her nnervous, so she couldn't explain that to
him.

They had finally reached the lake, and Sadie sat down on the bank edge. She carefully took off her sandles and dipped her feet in the cool, crisp water. " Would you like to sit with me?" She asked.

Sadie was glad to have made another friend, someone outside of her house. Scott was the first male friend that she had. Maybe that was what made her so nervous.

Scott was happy that she said sure. Scott said that he would gladly sit down. Scott didn't take off his shoes. Scott thought Sadie was a nice generous girl. Scott liked people who offered instead of took. "Sadie have you ever had a male as a friend before" Scott asked "Because I hadn't had a female as a friend" Scott said feeling a little stupid for never having one.

Sadie didn't think that Scott was stupid for not having any female friends before. She nervously replied to his question, " Umm.... Not really. I know a few guys that I went to muggle school with, but I never really considered them friends, they just liked to tease me all of the time."

Sadie finally realized that this had been what had caused her to be so nervous when she and Scott had first started talking, she had been afraid that he would tease her about her hair or something, but he had been really sweet. This helped ease her nerves a little. She flashed a sweet, but shy smile at him, as if she had just told him her deepest secret, and really she had.

Scott thought that boys should not teade girls unless the girl teased them. Scott thought that Sadie would never tease anybody so those boys did it for fun.

Scott saw that Sadie was smiling Scott smiled back and then looked at the lake. "Sadie is this your faorite place in Hogwarts?" Scott asked wondering what she would say.

" I have always loved to be at the lake, even before I came to Hogwart's," she replied," I was so happy to see that the school had a lake when I got here." Sadie didn't like to swim but she could set at the edge like this for hours. She wished that she had brought a picnic with her, she was starting to get a little hungry.

Sadie liked having someone to talk to, even if the fact that he was the first guy she had ever been friends with made her a little nervous. That would slowly pass.
