The moon was....full, only partially. Full was really the only word to describe the moon, okay, really the only word Kori knew that could describe the moon. She never really payed any attention to that kind of thing. The moon was there for one purpose, and that purpose was to substitute for when the Sun went down. This was the way Kori saw it, the way she lived it, the way she believed it. When the moon rose, it was just a mask to hide the sun and the daylight. Kori didn't exactly like the daylight, nor did she like the night. Neither of them made her happy. The daylight was too bright, and the night was just...too dark. And as she walked along the shore line of the lake, Kori raised her eyes to meet the moons gleam. The brown met the white, and she sighed. Despising the beams that appeared.
Her hands held her sandles, and she walked barefoot along the shoreline. Prints being left behind her. Her blonde curls blowing lightly behind her, she wore a sheer white robe on over her nightgown, and a green ribbon was in her hair. Mist swirled around her ankles, making it look even more eerie than it really was. Kori whistled a slow tune as she continued on her walking. She was out here tonight because she had some thinking to do. Dixie had stopped talking to her because she had joined the Chosen. Not that Kori cared what that lunatic thought, but Dix was really the only person who ever let Kori be her friend. Kori didn't want to give up the Chosen though, she felt she could go far with them. And she knew that even though the Chosen might not ever be as good as the Queens....it was a group with some plans for the future.
Kori had made the mistake of asking Dix to join. Dix's reply was less of short. Kori knew Dix could be a good assett to the Chosen, she had connections to bad places...bad people. Dark powers, everything. Dixie Holden knew more than anyone Kori knew. Kori was dumbstruck as to how Dixie could just hide those connections away. Then again, all Dix did was keep to herself. Mack on the other hand. Mack had real power. The 13 year old was sly, cunning, and manipulative. She could draw someone in with a smile and a wink, and then just as soon as that she could cast them out. Kori envied Mackenzie, how she seemed so shy but inside really wasn't.
Kori continued to walk along the shoreline, the wind still blowing back her robe and hair. She thought she was alone. Actually, no she didn't. She knew someone behind her was following her. Kori had keen senses, she could tell what house, year, and what gender you were just by the sound of your walk. And if she had studied you or your family bloodline, she knew your step. And right now, she knew who was behind her. Kori stopped walking, crossed her arms, and smiled with a laugh, "Desiray Cestbon. Was wondering when I would meet you. You've met my friend Dixie Holden, correct? What a gem she is, no? Glad to see that the tonic got out of your hair alright. It was a positively nasty thing to do, but I must say...brilliant." Kori turned around and looked at this girl with a gleam in her eyes.

Desiray had left her last class in a bit of a rush, her insides were about to explode if she didn't get some time to herself. Desiray didn't bother to stop at the common room and drop off her book bag, no. Instead, she walked straight outside, her blonde hair swaying as she rushed to the lake shore. The sun was about to set, the color of the coulds a bright pink. Desiray sighed in contentment and sat down, leaning back on her hands, tilting her head back so that the rays of sun shine warmed to her very finger tips. She sat up straighter and smiled to herself.
She sat there for hours, not exactly thinking, but just relaxing. The sun set fully after about an hour and Desiray found herself in the eerie night fall. The darkness washed over everything in what felt like ten minutes. The castle turned mysterious and the lake, a black sheet of ripples. She had been fingering the grass blades when suddenly Desiray spotted someone walking. Rather far off, but Desiray could still see a faint figure.
She stood and dusted off her gray plaid skirt, grabbing her book bag and throwing it over her shoulder. Desiray had to jog slightly to catch up to the girl, trying not to be heard. As she slowly jogged, details of the person could be seen. Light blonde curls and a walk that showed off her every curve. Desiray grinned recognizing the girl walking in front of her. It was Kori. Dixie's friend Kori. The crazy one's friend! Desiray slowed when she but fourty feet away.
They walked like that for almost ten minutes, then she talked, directly to Desiray, who jumped slightly at the sudden noise. She nodded, admiring Kori's skills. Kori turned and complemented her on her punching Dixie. Desiray flicked her wrist as if saying, it was nothing... She couldn't help grinning at the look in Kori's eyes.
"Yes well, the girl was pissing me off," Desiray said in her rich British accented voice that usually made boys look her way.
"And Kori Williams, short for Korissa I would imagine. I hate your friend, but I havn't talked to you yet, so I'm too sure what to think of you yet," the rare twinkle in Desiray's eyes lasted for about two seconds, as it usually did. Desiray adjusted the strap on her book bag and shifted her weight to another foot for a more comfortable way of standing, with one leg bent slightly and hip cocked to one side.

Kori smirked. This girl was even more full of herself than Kori thought she would be. This didn't bother Kori, for she herself was a bit self-centered. But Kori couldn't let the fact stand that she had "complimented" Desiray on her punch, because she hadn't. She tucked some curls behind her right ear and raised an eyebrow, a perfect arch, "I wasn't complimenting you. I, along with Dix, don't think muggle fighting was the best way to go. You're a witch Ms. Cestbon, act like one, mmm?" Kori's voice sounded so innocent, so sweet, yet one could sense the hatred and cruelty in it. She was taunting, teasing, sly, cunning, and cruel all rolled into one. And those who did not know her, were those who did not want to know her. Kori was an angel, with an attitude of a devil. Lost in her thoughts, Kori barely heard her talk about Dixie.
"Who said I was willing to give you a chance? You think your holier than thou attitude will get you anywhere with me? Think again. Attitudes do not impress me. May I ask what you are following me for? For, those were your footsteps behind me. Only a Cestbon would walk with such selfishness as you do. Your walking steps are quick, yet steady." Kori knelt down on her knee and traced the footprint in the soil with her index finger. She had set the sandals down, so she slipped them on when she stood back up, starting to feel the pebbles beneath her feet, "You can tell a lot about a person just by their footprint. See, yours indicates you are a self-confident person. But your confidence can sometimes evolve into a large amount of selfishness. You believe you are above everyone and that everyone should bow down to you. You, Desiray, think yourself worthy of someone's presence. Someone who ranks higher than you in social standing, and in power." Kori knew what she was saying was not smart, but this girl had no power over Kori. And where was the fun if she let Desiray think that she did?
Kori was good with words. She was good with twisting them around and into something big and powerful. She was once told, that she could hold a room's attention. They would fall at her words, move with her thoughts, she was a powerful speaker. A great motivationist. Kori was also once told, that the audience would be holding their breath as she spoke. Waiting for the next moment, the next point or the next emphasis. Kori knew that she was doing this to Desiray now, "Am I wrong? Your heel is implanted firmly when you were jogging, which means you want to be remembered. You want people to know your face, your name, and your story. Whether there is a story or not, is not up to you. The story will come to you, you can't go to it." Kori said this in a final voice, she raised an eyebrow and waited for the other Slytherins reply.

Desiray glared at Kori. That comment made a fire blaze deep within her, making her want to rip off the girl's head. But when she thought back at what Kori said. She realized that she had completmented Dixie, not her. She felt her cheeks blush in embarassment and thanked to who-ever that it was dark. She moved her tongue across her teeth, an annoyed look on her face. She cocked her hip furthure and crossed her arms across her chest.
"I must have mistaken you," Desiray said in a heated tone, filled with hot steal. She sighed in growing anger as Kori went and said something about acting like a witch instead of some sort of muggle. Desiray felt herself glare harder.
"Well it isn't any of your buissness how I act." Her voice more heated than before, "I beg your pardon miss Korissa but I do NOT like being insulted by a tight headed little priss like you! I may be a bit self-centered, but I enjoy it. I enjoy having every boy wrapped around my little finger." She put her index finger up and made a small circle, "And I wasn't following you, your highness," the last word radiated with sarcasm, "I was mearily walking behind you because I was curious..." She had turned on her heal but Kori started to impress her with saying things about Desiray just by glancing at her foot print. Desiray felt her teeth start to grind.
"Kori! Please do NOT sit there and act as if reading my mind! It is very, VERY disturbing," her voice was a mixture of shaky impressment and steaming anger. She didn't like it when someone, who she didn't even know, who she had never met- only heard about, told almost everything about her just by looking at her foot print and hearing her walk. She found she couldn't breath, she wanted to hear more. She wanted to see what else this Kori girl could say about Desiray. She took a deep breath and wanted to stamp her foot, but she didn't. She stood there, very tense, watching Kori angrily.

There were a lot of things Kori had a talent for, foot analysis, voice detection, body language, and so many others. Kori liked to study people, and Desiray was an interesting person to study. Her snappy remarks only made Kori's mind race with come-backs. But, she was waiting for the correct moment. Finally; it came, when she said she liked boys being wrapped around her finger, Kori took a step forward so their faces were inches apart and she whispered with a vicious voice, "Yes, but can you keep one that'll love you for the rest of your life? For as long as you both shall live? You play each boy here like they are nothing to you, and when you really fall in love...no one is going to love you back. Would be a pity wouldn't it?" She raised her right eyebrow in a cocky sort of way.
Kori turned on her heel, ready to leave, this was boring her and she places to go and people to see. But before she would actually leave, Kori paused in her step. She looked out the corner of her eye and smiled, "There's a lot of things you are ignorant to. Like; if you punch my best friend and make her bleed, then there is a slim chance that I will forgive you. Dix told me, that you were being snobby and rude, which I don't disagree...but she didn't deserve to be hit. If it were reversed, would you have liked to be hit? Then you just stare, dumbstruck, at her little laughter spoilage and not listen to what she was saying. I suggest you think back, because what she said is some good advice," Kori turned back to face Desiray, "So, if you are willing to be something more than an enemy with me...then sit down and shut up. Don't interrupt, because I have a lot of talking to do. And you will listen to every single word. Even if I have to use magic, I will." She took out her wand, waved it and mutered a word, soon a chair appeared. She pointed to it and raised her eyebrow at Desiray.

Desiray's teeth ground together much harder, a slight pain made her stop. She sighed and glared into Kori's eyes as she got dangerously close to her. Desiray fought the urge to bite off her nose and decided to listen to what the girl was saying, for once of course. She felt her heart drop and glared harder as a reaction.
"I will decided that when I find love, now wont I?" her voice sounded more angry as she was talking through clenched teeth. Her annoyance level rose several feet, no yards as Kori raised her eyebrow yet again. She tried not to grind her teeth, but failed and more pain shot through her gums. She felt her nose flare as Kori conjoured a chair and basically ordered her to sit. Desiray clapped sarcastically.
"Oh what wonderful public display of your magic, Korissa!" she said in a cheerful tone that anyone with a brain stem could tell was extremely fake, "I would sit but I may hurt your precious 'wittle chair..." she rolled her eyes and folded her arms across her chest, cocking her hip one side again in her favorite pose.

Kori shrugged at Desiray's response about love, that was if the girl ever found love. Desiray was the possibly the snobbiest, rudest, bitterest person Kori had ever met, and that was saying a lot. When Desiray gave Kori a sarcastic remark about her chair conjuring, she took out her wand again, pointed it at the girls throat and said, "Sit, or so help me God, I will not hold back on my magic. Now," Kori barked, "SIT!" Kori had the brutality of a thousand pregnant mothers, and if this girl wanted to mess with her than Kori was up to it. No matter what Desiray said, or did, Kori knew she would always be better than her. For, Kori had one thing that Desiray didn't and that was dignity. She didn't go around flaunting everything, to everyone, and giving it away for free. That wasn't Kori's style. Her love and her sincere smiles were for those who deserved it, and at the moment Desiray didn't deserve it. But, Kori had been watching Desiray, observing and studying her...and all though she hadn't spoken to Cedric; Kori thought that Desiray was a candidate for the Chosen...and if not that then she was definitely a candidate for l'une Rusee.

Desiray had been standing there in her favortie pose, one eyebrow arched, a sly smile on her face, a self-confident gleam in her bluish green eyes, her armss till corssed over her chest and her hip cocked to one side. She felt herself jump in surprise and her cocky pose failed as Kori screamed at her to sit. She dropped her book bag and well, sat! She put her knees together and her ankles spread apart, her arms in a weird position. She sighed and waited for the girl to go on.
She was getting very bored very fast. Her legs relaxed and her body leaned ot one side, one arm drapped over the back of the chair. She smiled up at Kori, that cocky-ness back again. That was Desiray. She would fail to be herself for five minutes and then she was back to her old self, being the b**** that she knew she could be.

Kori smiled with satisfaction as she sat, she loved when people obeyed her. Kori pointed her wand at a patch of darkness and said a spell, a picture formed in the darkness...sort of like a diagram. Kori looked back at Desiray, "I know your families history. I know your history. I know most of your secrets. I also know you want to be a Queen, news flash girly, you aren't going to be a Queen. Maybe in a millenium or two, but not this one." Kori smiled smugly as she finally rounded on what she was getting on. L'une Rusee was only a fragment of her imagination, a seedling needed to be watered to become a plant. Her plan was only a rough draft, it wasn't nearly finished. But, she needed someone who could help her get L'une Rusee on the right foot...even if that meant leaving the Chosen. The Chosen was childish anyway, the first thing they had done, the only thing they had done, was blackmail a girl. Not really Kori's taste.
"Tell me dear French one, what does this," Kori flicked her wand and words appeared in the shapes, the word L'une Rusee, "mean?" She knew Desiray would have no problem translating it. Desiray was French, anyone who had half a mind would know that, because Cestbon was a French last name. A well known French last name. Not well known for it's status. Desiray's father was a Death Eater, but not very good at what he did or said. Got himself locked into Azkaban, just because he couldn't tell a lie. Kori's father, Arvid, had actually spoken ill of the man before...but he would never admit it himself. Kori looked back at Desiray, "Do you want power? Or do you want to fall, like your father?"

Desiray's whole position on the chair changed. She turned straight and sat up, listening as Kori started to talk. Saying that she knew all about Desiray. She tried not to let her heart fall too much after Kori made the comment about the Queens. She bit her lip, knowing that Kori was right. How could she have a chance at being a Queen. She sighed and perked up a bit as Kori then flicked her wand, a diagram appearing in the darkness below the low branches of the tree that stood but two inches from them,. She glanced at the diagram and then back at Kori. The words L'une Rusee flashed in the diagram. She knew what the words meant just as soon as her eyes saw it. She was french after all. She felt coonfused, looking at Kori, who asked what the words meant.
"The sly ones," she said, shrugging, feeling more confused, "but I don't unders-" she was cut off when Kori asked about her father. Desiray glared, and felt her teeth grind again. supress it, Desi, supress it she told herself, taking deep breaths and trying very hard not to jump up and scream at Kori for insulting her father. Desiray believed that her father was the best Death eater ever! He had to be! Her mother did marry him and if you knew Alexandria Cestbon, you would most definatly know that Alexandria had high tastes.
"I would..." she licked her lips, trying not to glare too hard, "I would love power,"

Kori had total control over Desiray at the moment, and Kori loved it. She could tell Desiray was growing angrier at every moment, but Kori had total hold over the girl. Kori conjured another chair, and draped her body casually over it. Her right arm dangling over the back of the chair, and swinging back and forth, her right leg crossed over her left and tapping to a silent beat. Her blonde curls blew back in the breeze and she smiled as Desiray said she wanted power. This was good. This was very good, "Good. The way I see it you have two choices. One; you can join this pathetic group called The Chosen run by Cedric Wood. Or two; you can help me set up l'une rusee. The choice is yours, but either way you'll have to put up with me." Kori raised an eyebrow, wondering what her choice would be.
L'une Rusee wasn't exactly organized just yet, and Kori knew she couldn't do it alone. She would never admit it though. To others this was just a nice kind gesture to someone who could do well in the arts. And that was exactly what Kori was going to say if she ever asked. Kori was growing impatient on the girls choice, and if she chose choice number two then it had to be kept secret, very secret. If word got out, it wouldn't be pretty. What would Kori say? What would her father say? It was too unbearable to think about, so Kori was thinking of ways to keep it to herself.

Desiray took a slight moment to supress her anger long enough to think about this whole thing. The L'une Rusee... a club no doubt. Like the Queens. What she had always wanted... but this time she would start out on top instead of working up to the top as she would have to do with the Queens. The Chosen sounded very stupid. Run by Cedric Wood, so of course it must be. She bit her lip and wondered if she should do it. She looked up at the moon, the silvery beams falling ointo her face in a comfortable way. Desiray sighed, glancing at Kori, thinking. Kori looked impatient and Desiray chuckled only in the slightest at the look on her face. She had somehow, when Desiray did not know, conjoured up another chair, one better than the chair Desiray sat on. She sighed again and turned to face Kori.
"Before I choose," she said, slyly, "Why me? And if I do chose to be apart of the L'une Rusee, what's in it for me?" She was serious, her tone not angry, but curious and buissness-like.

Damn! I knew it wasn't going to be this easy. Kori thought. She stood up from her chair and walked over to the diagram, her hands clasped together behind her back. She thought a moment, and then turned to face Desiray. Kori brought her hand up to her hair, curled a tight curl around her finger and smiled smugly, "What's in it for you? Power. Why you? You by far have been the only person who runs by my standards, who believes what I believe. L'une Rusee is just a bud, with us feeding it water and sunlight it should grow into a flower. I am not jumping into this and letting anyone in like Cedric did. There will be initiations. They will have to prove to me, and you that they are worthy. I can do this alone, but it would be easierif I had someone by my side." Kori answered thoughtfully. She then nodded as if she was finally happy with her statement.

Desiray looked at Kori as if she were crazy. She rolled her eyes and sighed. Power... ooo is that it!? She then blinked a few times at the whole thing about sunshine and water... she nodded, her eyes widening for a few moments in mock suprise. She then chuckled slightly.
"Ah yes... power... thats all I need... mmm hmmmm. And we most definatly should water that darn flower!" Desiray said sarcastically. She then leaned back on the chair, drapping her left arm over the back of the chair and the other casually on her knee.
"Listen... Kori, dear," she said, "I don't disagree that I am capable of helping you start this thing... but..." she paused, "I still don't understand why I should do it!" she said it simply, not exactly confused, but playing Kori... it was her turn to get the info. Her turn to twist everything around. She wanted to help start this thing, that much was plain... she just wanted to know why... and what she would get if she did this.

"The world doesn't turn on information mon cher. There are things that questions are not required. If you can not live with the small fact that not everything can be answered right at the time. Then you are not going to go far in this world," Kori smirked, "I guess it's heriditary." Kori knew she hit a low spot, but this was where she had to go to get Desiray on board. Kori waved her wand, and both chairs disappeared, sending Desiray on her butt.
"You know, if you aren't going to take this seriously, then I am not wasting my time on a lower than mudblood." Kori spat. She waved her wand and the diagram disappeared. Kori tucked her blonde curls behind her ear and looked at this girl, wondering what her next move was. Kori raised her eyebrow, waiting for the challenge...if there was going to be one.
((Mon Cher = My dear))

Desiray looked up, a glare forming on her eyes at the words she spat from her mouth about her family. She was just about to stand and face Kori head on but the damn chair disapeared! She screamed slightly as she fell to the ground, pain erupted from her tail bone and spread its way up her spine and to the very tips of her fingers. She moaned and tried to stand but more pain shot through her body. She mumbled curse words under her breath and wanted anything to kill the girl at that moment. She looked up suddenly when Kori's voice was loudly next to her ear. She felt her breathing get heavier as piercing hott anger shot through her at every word she uttered in her filthy mouth. When she called Desiray *somthing awful*, she had touched the final nerve. Desiray, moaning in slight pain as she stood, roase to her feet and got into Kori's face.
"ONE!" she screamed holding up one finger, her very eyes were screaming how angry she was at that very moment, "I AM TAKING THIS STUPID THING SERIOUSLY! I don't expect someone like YOU to understand what a little teasing was! I WASN'T TRYING TO INSULT YOU, YOU IDIOT! I WAS JUST checking... to see if you really needed me! Its called a test! You test everyone, Kori! To make sure they measure up to your perfect standards. WELL GUESS WHAT! MISSY! I WAS DOING, THE SAME. STUPID. THING!" Desiray wanted to scream more, much more, "TWO!," she held up her index and middle finger, "DO NOT! EVER CALL ME A NAME LIKE THAT AGAIN!" She wanted to wring this girl's neck, but supressed it as best as she could.

Kori's eyebrow rose, her anger really not rising. She was as calm as calm can be. Kori waited until Desiray's little rant was over. She didn't expect anything less of this Cestbon, her mother had been the same. Or so Kori's father had told her. When Desiray finally finished, Kori looked at her ready to say her part, "Now; let me help you count. One; you ask too many questions you don't need to check with me, you aren't needed. I can do this perfectly on my own. NOTHING is in it for you, you want to be a Queen well, this is as damn close as you can get to it. I'm not expecting you to jump on this chance, but trying to get it through your thick skull that this isn't something that pays off with glamour is extremely hard and you seem to be more dense than Crabbe or Goyle." Kori said this in an exasperated tone, she was getting rather annoyed and tired of repeating herself, "Two; if you can't handle the name calling, don't act like the name." Kori finished with a cock of her head to the left. Kori walked away again, but stopped to say something more, "Forget I ever offered you this. I can see now, you are not worth it."

Desiray stopped her screaming and stepped back, panting in anger, waiting for Kori's response. When it came, Desiray glared. All she could feel as Kori went on was her self-esteem lowering and her anger rising. Kori's tone was getting more annoyed as she talked. Desiray sighed, her boredom creeping up on her. Hearing Kori repeat how worthless Desiray was over and over, was getting extremely tiresome. She rolled her bluish green eyes as Kori started to walk off.
"Oh please!" she yelled sarcastically as Kori stopped, looking as if about to turn around, "Don't go!" she cocked her hip to one side yet again. Though she ascted as if what Kori was saying didn't matter, inside, Desiray did. She lying even to herself. All she ever wanted was to a Queen, and she knew she couldn't. She wanted, with all her heart, to help start this L'Une Rusee. She gulpecd as Kori turned and added to her words. Desiray's eyes widened and she rushed over to Kori.
"Look," she said. Her voice was serious and definatly angry, but it was far from apologetic, "I do want to help you start this... this thing. But I can't fdo that until I get the answers I need. I understand that it doesn't pay off with glamour or whatever. If this is as close to being a Queen why not let me help you help me?" she paused, "And if you didn't need my help, then why did you ask me?" her eyebrows rose in questioning.

She was eating out of the palm of her hand. Kori smiled smuggly and mimicked Desiray's position. Her hip cocked to the right, her hand resting on the bone, and her shoulderbag swinging over her shoulder. Her green eyes looked at Desiray, waiting for the right time to speak. It was all about timing. Kori would make a good sales person. The idea, the pitch, the sale, and the pay. All laid out before her greedy little hands. As the time came, Kori smiled at Desiray again, "I thought you were worthy of this. But if you are going to question my methods, I can see I was wrongly mistaken." Kori's eyebrow arched above her eyes and she crossed her arms firmly over her chest. This was wasting her time, and if Desiray didn't give in soon...Kori was just going to give up.
"Desiray...live with it. You can't know the answers. C'est la vie! I'm sure you know what that means. Not everyone can answer your questions exactly when you want them to be answered. If you are going to be questioning every single thing I do, then you can't be part of this. I am in charge at L'une Rusee, not you. You will live with the things I say, follow my lead. We go down together. You will get answers soon enough. If you can't live with that, princess, then you will never make it later on in life." She spat. Desiray was crawling under her skin. So d**n curious.

Desiray was getting more and more confused. She wanted to help start this thing, but if all Kori was going to do was insult her and make her some sort of slave, then to hell with it! Desiray didn't want to be someones dog, someone's little play thing that was used and then thrown away. She sighed, her head starting to hurt with so much thinking. She wasn;t much angry anymore, just extremely confused.
"OK... Kori..." she said, her voice no longer angry and mroe buissness like, "If you don't need me," she started slowly, "Then why. Are. You. Asking me. To help you?" it was a simple question and Desiray needed it answered. Everything that came from Kori's mouth made no sense. She didn't need Desiray... she was incharge of this little group yet Desiray would go down with her? That wasn't fair.
"And if I'm going to be your little lap dog and you are inharge of everything, then that means you have full responsibility of L'une Rusee and I don't, so why do I have to go down with you if something happens? It just makes no sense, Kori." she was making sure her questions did not sound threatning, she wanted answers and making Kori angry was not going to get her those answers.
