Vincent wandered outside, his Beater's bat in one hand, swinging it to and fro, and an apple in the other, which he was munching on occasionally. He wasn't intending to do any Quidditch practice today. Rather, he was just using it to intimidate people with. They left a wide berth around him at all times, and with the rather lethal weapon, were now leaving an even wider berth. They should also have been keeping all food out of sight. Vincent was hungry, and if he saw something that made his stomach rumble in anticipation, he didn't think twice about going to get it. His stomach was getting fuller, the apple he had brought from the Great Hall was getting closer to the core and Vincent was getting ready to start revising for the exams. He had to start very early to avoid failing them all, and with the signs of summer already beginning to creep into the air, this was the time.
So first of all he needed some fresh spring air to stimulate his brain before his study session. Perhaps a little entertainment. A few little people with more time on their hands than was fair and less substance in their brains than was good for them could well be happy to provide that. Well, perhaps not happy to, but they would whether they intended to or not. Their pockets would also be his extra supply of food. He leant against a tree trunk. He was getting dangerously close to the oaf's hut. He would have to divert course if he wanted to be sure of avoiding confrontation with that hairy beast. Sometimes you couldn't be sure which was hairier; the dog or the giant. Why such a half breed was still teaching at Hogwarts Vincent wasn't sure. Draco's father should have been influential enough to put a stop to it, surely?
Vincent's thought trail, spiralling downwards into discontent, was stopped by the sound of heavy footsteps approaching. He didn't need to look up to see who it was, so he didn't. Instead he carried on eating his apple, and paced a few yards away, conjuring up a plate of large chocolate cookies on a nearby tree stump. He picked two up and started wolfing the first one down, before picking the plate up and offering it to Gregory. "Good," he mumbled, his words distorted by the fact that his mouth was full of crumbs. The two of them both shared one rather similar interest, and that was keeping their stomachs full with good food. Vincent found himself fairly similar to the other boy, and so might go as far as to call him a buddy. He didn't have the best set of brains either, but the friendship was certainly more natural than that with Draco.
