Today had seemed extra long and extra dull. She spent all of her last class gazing out the window to staring outside, waiting for it to rain and she nearly feel asleep during History of Magic. The sky was so glumy, reflecting Riku's mood. She had even dyed her hair black with white bangs. She didn't cut her bangs, though.
She slowly walked through the hallways blindly saying hi to students who said hi to her. She didn't even know where she was going, she was just walking. She was waiting for the moment. The moment when the clouds would release the rain. Only then would Riku's mood lighten up. She didn't know why, but her mood reflected the weather sometimes.
It seemed as she neared the great oak doors, the wind was calling to her. Telling her to come outside. When she did, she gave a dissappointed sigh. It hadn't rained yet. She sat down on the stoop, sitting so if someoen where to open the door she wouldn't get hit. She looked up at the clouds then down at her lap. Taking out a notebook, made her feel slightly better. She began to write not really noticing or caring what she was write. She did that a lot. At least this would take her mind off things until it rained.

Jake grimaced as he gazed towards the steely sky, putting a hand out to feel for any raindrops. His palm stayed dry but Jake wasn’t going to trust British weather to keep him the same. He raised his arms and tugged the black hood of his cloak over his head then stuffed his hands into his pockets, his nose still wrinkled as he watched the storm clouds with increasing displeasure. Jake hated bad weather.
Jake began to make his way up to the castle, dragging his feet in the way he always did when he wasn’t too happy with things, and making the fronts of his already scuffed suede trainers damp with the remaining dew that still clinged to the grass. The wind bit at the exposed skin at his wrists and cheeks and made his loose Ravenclaw tie beat uncomfortably against his shoulder. When Jake reached the courtyard he took his hands out of the safe cocoon his pockets and quickened his pace. The doors to the Entrance Hall were, at last, in sight. But as he reached them, he saw - with a smile -someone he hadn’t expected. He hadn’t recognised her from a distance, but the appealing dark eyes and newly-coloured hair belonged to his good friend Riku Hiwatori who was sat on the steps in front of him, scribbling away in a notebook. She hadn’t noticed him.
“Alright Riku?” Jake greeted, grinning at her as she looked up. His grin was replaced with a look of puzzlement, though as he saw the expression on the girl’s face. It was the sort that he himself had been wearing a minute or so ago, “Hey, are you okay? You look a bit…upset,” He finished lamely, sitting down on the steps beside Riku and gazing at her concernedly.

All Riku could do to keep her mind off of the letter was write. She just wrote random thoughts she had at the time. She paused to read what she had written.
I catch you as you fall I hold my breath so you can breathe I gave up myself so you can be you But what good does it ever get me?
I gave up my heart for you I comfort you while you cry I save you when you drown And all you can do is lie...
That was all she had written when she heard her name being said. She jumped slightly and looked up to see Jake Hurstner. She gave a little smile remembering him, but her smile faded when he asked her if she was okay.
"I'm fine. Just annoyed and yes a little upset. Well, I guess that doesn't sound all that fine, eh?" Riku said as she gave a sigh and looked away from him. She looked up at the sky. 'C'mon. Rain. Please...,'she thought, as if she were begging. In a way she was. She didn't like when she felt like this. She hated that her mood always seemed to get cloudy on cloudy days.

Jake screwed up his face and raised sceptical eyebrows at Riku as she answered. She was right, it didn't sound fine. Conteplating whether or not to ask what was wrong ge followed her gaze towards the sky and as he did felt a single raindrop land on the back of his hand. It sent shivers riccocheting up and down Jake's body and he recoiled slightly, wiping the rain drop off his hand with his sleeve.
"Am I allowed to ask you what's wrong? Or are you going to be secretive and let me guess?" He asked Riku, as another raindrop brushed against his cheek. He wiped it away with his hand, and retreated his hands inside his sleeves, "Either way, we're going to get soaked if we sit here much longer."

Riku closed her eyes and inhaled as a raindrop hit her nose. Her eyes popped open and she looked at Jake with a sort of smile. However, she was dissappointed when no other raindrop followed soon after.
"You're allowed. WHy wouldn't you be?" Riku asked him as another rain drop fell and hit her hand. She smiled at Jake.
"Rain! Thank you!" She said more to the sky than to Jake. She had been waiting for it to rain.
She grabbed Jake's hand and ran in the rain. She laughed as she felt her mood brightening.
"Five minutes! That's all i ask!" She said to Jake. She let his hand go as she spun around with her head high letting the rain fall in her mouth. She laughed to herself. She was so weird.

Jake smiled, immensely glad that Riku wasn’t locking him out, as some people did when they were down. He parted his lips to ask her what had made her ‘annoyed and yes, upset’ but before he knew what was happening Riku had jumped to her feet and grabbed his hand. Jake couldn’t say he objected to her taking his hand (an amused smile crept upon his face as he thought this) but he shouted in protest as Riku lead him out into the courtyard. The heavens had really opened now, rain was falling left right and centre. In a minute, though, Jake found himself forgetting about the gallons of water emptying itself from the sky onto his him as he watched Riku (who apparently wasn’t opposed to the downpour) spinning around, catching droplets in her open mouth. He laughed at her.
“You’re mad, you,” He told her amusedly, “But then again it’s not often you come across a girl who doesn’t care about getting her hair wet, so I’ll enjoy it while it lasts shall I?”

It felt good for Riku to just spin around, like she was. She felt as if she were a child again. Well in a way she was a child, but she felt as if she were 5 again. She bit her lip as she looked at Jake once more.
"I guess I am huh? THis is what I was waiting for, though. All day I was waiting for the rain," Riku said as she grabbed his hand and spun around with him. She laughed again.
"Then again. I suppose I'm not like most girls," Riku said softly with a smirk to Jake.

It struck Jake as strange that Riku had spent all day waiting for it to rain when he himself had been praying that it wouldn't but each to their own! He shrugged to himself and decided to comment on the second thing that she said rather than marvel at the first.
"Glad to hear it!" Jake decided with a grin, scratching the back of his head and sending droplets of water that had caught onto his curled hair sailing towards the ground, "I'd like to say I'm not like most guys but I'd be lying. I'm your typical Joe-Ravenclaw - just better looking and with a Cornish accent," He added with a smirk.

Riku looked down at her soak and wet clothes. She wasn't even smart enough to have taken her cloak off. Oh well. Too late to be pondering over that now, right?
"Well, I don't think so. You do have a humor on you though," Riku said with a laugh.
She sighed as she looked up once more. As much as she didn't want to, she was going to have to bring the party inside.
"I suppose we'll be having to go inside. That or we keep sheltor...out here...somehow..." Riku said slowly.

Jake looked around for some shelter, his vision was clouded somewhat by the amount of raindrops falling infront of his view. He couldn't see much in the way of cover, unless you counted the canopy of trees a few hundred metres away in the Grounds. Other than that there was the refuge of the castle.
"Maybe we should head inside," Jake suggested, admitting defeat, "You're going to end up getting pneumonia or something if we don't."

Riku bit her lip. He was right. She took one last spin then grabbed his hand once more and headed where she had left her things.
"Man, stupid pneumonia!" Riku said as if it were a curse word. She then looked at Jake and smiled. "Well, where to? The Common Room?"
((Okay. I think we are going to have to movie this post...am I right?))

"Common room sounds good to me," Jake agreed with a nod, "Could do with somewhere with a fire. Seeming as though..." He glanced down at his sodden uniform, his Ravenclaw tie, dripping rainwater onto his shoes, the cherry on top of a pretty pathetic cake. He looked back at Riku eyes wide and mouth twisted, sighing in a defeated sort of way, "Unless you know any good drying spells?"
((Alright, then. Common room? Could you perhaps start?))

Riku bit her lip. She did know a drying spell, but she wanted to change anyways. She looked down at her clothes. Her skirt was stuck to her knees and her hair was all wet and tangled.
"Yeah, I know a drying spell, but I want to change clothes anyways." Riku said slowly. She said the spell and her clothes were dried. She then said it again and Jake's clothes were dry as well.
"There ya go!" Riku said with a grin.
((hey! I started this one! You're turn ;D))

"I could do with a change of clothes too," Jake pointed out, "But I just didn't think it would be too fun walking up to the Common Room in drenched clothes..."
Riku, though, had already taken out her wand and muttered some spell or another on herself. She did the same to Jake and at once an instant warmth spread throughout Jake's body and he felt just as dry as he would have done id he'd spent a day by the fire instead of out in the rain. Jake ran a finger over his once soaked tie and nodded.
"Nice," He said, "You're not bad at that spell. Anyway, are you coming or not?"
He offered Riku his arm.
((Slave-driver, lol. Just kidding. I'll get up a post in the Common Room in a minute.))

Smirking and linked her arm in his. "I'm a pro at that spell. I've done it so much."
Riku smiled as she thought about all the times her brothers thought it was funny to throw her into the ocean. They were always evil. Though, it was fun being thrown.
"Thank you, sir." Riku said with a grin.
((Hey! I take that personally!))
