It was a fresh spring day and only a little cloud was out in the shy. Jasmine pulled on her coat over her robes and began walking out onto the courtyard. Her long black hair flowing behind her in the wind. Goes bumps went up her bare legs, but Jasmine just continued on. She had not been out in the court yard for a very long time. Well since it had been raining almost everyday since spring started and it was just too cold. A smile was her face as she seemed to skip down the pavement twirling and spinning her around. Jasmine was in a good mood right now and felt like singing with joy, but she stopped herself as a group of kids were walking around the courtyard as well. Sighing Jasmine chose another path away from the students and on her own. She wanted to have this time to think and just have space from the books.
"Father once spoke of an angel I used to dream he'd appear Now as I sing, I can sense him And I know he's here
Here in this room he calls me softly somewhere inside hiding
Somehow I know he's always with me he - the unseen genius" She sang out looking at a script in her hands.
After that one verse Jasmine smiled and wondered where her friends could be. Elina most be studying, Sapphire must be finding Zara, Dana must be off with Kris or Mary, but where was Vanessa. It was like she had been missing for so long and didn’t even want to be with Jasmine. But she knew everyone was busy with their own lives but Vanessa was her best friend and not seeing for long seemed to frighten Jasmine. Looking down in her bag she smiled as little friendship bracelets were in side. Jasmine was planning on giving one to all her friends, for the remembrance that she well always be there for them. Jasmine was a girl who cared for her friends, and almost seemed like a mother towards them. Always wanting to know where they were and if they were alright. Some people got annoyed with that trait of hers but Jasmine couldn’t help it.

Vanessa laughed with one of her good friends Anna as they rounded the corner to the door that lead outside to the Grounds. Anna was Vanessa's closest friend at the moment, considering how much Jasmine and her had drifted since Jasmine's depression. Anna said her good bye and left to go to Magical Creatures. While Vanessa on the other hand had a free period. She made her way to a sunny patch of grass, seeing a lone figure there as well. Vanessa shrugged that off and sat down, slipped her dance shoes on, and stood up starting to stretch. Words escaping her lips for her to sing, she was warming up and she normally sang when she did so. So she sang the first song that came to mind, "Where in the world have you been hiding. Really you were perfect. I only wish I knew your secret, who is your great tutor?" Then she hummed the part Christine would sing, only she heard someone singing it. Her eyes looked up to see Jasmine, the lone figure. Vanessa walked over to her and sang from behind.
"Christine, you must have been dreaming. Stories like this can't come true. Christine, your talking in riddles and its not like you. Who is this Angel? This Angel of Music? Hide no longer, secret and strange Angel. Your hands are cold. Your face, Christine, it's white. Don't be frightened." Vanessa stopped at the appropriate times to let Jasmine sing Christine's part. Phantom of the Opera was something Vanessa listened to a lot, on account because, she played the piano for it some times in the Gemline arts. And as they finished the song, Vanessa started to dance. Raising her left foot to a great point, and doing a pirouette. She then stopped dancing and sat down in front of Jasmine, "Long time, no see." She said with a large smile upon her face, flicking her hair over her shoulder and her eyes dancing in the sunlight.

Jasmine continued to walk down the path that showed lead towards the lake. The wind was blowing at her face lightly and sending her long black hair in the wind. So much has happen in her world that made her a better person. Jasmine's depression was long gone now and a new light of happiness rose inside of her. It was like the light was finally on, and she didn’t have to worry about where her next home well be. Rosalind was always going to care for her niece now and for ever. She was still young and could be around the age of 40 when Jasmine had children. But she wasn’t thing about boys and her future now. Her mind was on her present and the one person who she seemed to like more than anything in the world. Well next to her horse and cat, but it was her third thing that was on Jasmine's mind.
As Jasmine took a seat on a bench she heard a singing voice to the distance. Turning around she smiled as Vanessa come up. Wow that was really ironic. Jasmine had just been thinking of her and now she was here. "Angel of Music! Guide and guardian! Grant to me your glory!" Jasmine sang standing up and becoming Christine’s character. "Angel of Music! Hide no longer! Secret and strange angel." the two girls sang together. Taking a deep breath from her stomach, Jasmine began to her parts to the song, "He's with me, even now... All around... It frightens me..." After singing Jasmine smiled as she could hear the music in her head. The soft melody making Jasmine float around the grounds as if she were dancing in one of the dressed the actors were in the play.
Twirling around Vanessa, Jasmine smiled at her friend and tackled her to the ground. "Nessa! Where on earth have you been? I extrañar you so much. Now it has been a long time so tell me what's happen in your world. Anything new?" Jasmine asked directing her friend to sit down on the bench. A smile was on her face that seemed to not fit. The two friends had not seen each other in a long time, and Jasmine was afraid she lost her dear friend.

Vanessa was tackled to the ground by Jasmine, sending a cough out of the pit of her stomach. They had been apart for a long time, and Vanessa had changed. Still being musically inclined and into her dancing and singing, but more girly. More into the whole dressy/skirty giggly kind of attitude. She had drifted far from her horseback riding, dirty rough housing, being with boys all the time when she had drifted from Jasmine. And she wasn't quite sure if the two would get along now that they seemed to be so different. She tried to smile, but it came out more as a grimace and she lowered her head, really thinking about filling Jasmine in on what has happened lately. Should she tell her best-friend that she had a boyfriend? Had being used in a past tense way. Or that she broke up with him because, he was cheating on her? Should she tell all of the things she hadn't even thought about telling her until now? The thought hadn't crossed her mind until she spotted Jasmine and all the memories came back. She just, lost touch of her friend. She had seen her in class. But, they never stayed after together, or went out to the courtyard to hang out like Vanessa did with Anna. So much had changed, in such a small amount of time.
"Nothing really. Just, the comes and goes of a teenagers life." Vanessa finally answered, settling on not telling her about Tony. But, Vanessa felt really guilty about not telling her everything. About lying and all that. She hated that she wasn't as close to Jasmine as she used to be. Why did they split? What had drove Vanessa away to stop talking to Jasmine? Was it the depression her best-friend had gone under, or was it the fact that she liked her best-friend's brother and couldn't bear the thought of losing a friendship over it, so she seperated herself from that family in general? Why was it that Vanessa didn't want to speak to Jasmine because, she felt it was wrong? What had brainwashed her in such a way or form, was it the group of gaggling girls she had been hanging out with? What? Vanessa was so confused on what to say, do, act, sing...she was so lost. She wanted to rebuild that bridge in which used to be so strong between them, but she knew that was not gonna happen. Even if the bridge did repair, it wouldn't be as sturdy, or strong as the one before. Vanessa knew but, she didn't believe it. So, with a sincere smile, she situated herself on the bench and looked deep into Jasmine's eyes.
"Actually, I had a boyfriend. Then I broke up with him. His name was Tony and he was all sweet. Until I figured out he was cheating on me. Not so sweet anymore." She actually answered, her tone went from happy. To extremely angry, to sad. Three mood swings in one minute. Tony had made her so distraught but, she had gotten over him for a time. And had lived with the fact she couldn't have everyone. It was now Vanessa's turn to be excited to see her friend, "JASMINE!" And she tackled the other girl to the ground, laughing as they rolled down hill. Her skirt getting muddied up, and her hair falling out of it's perfect pony tail. And for once, she didn't care.

Jasmine looked at her friend with a worried face. What was wrong with her best-friend? Did something happen that could of drifted the two away? Shaking that thought away Jasmine looked at her friend as she began speaking of this Tony boy. A flash of fiery rose within Jasmine as she heard the words. "Well that estúpido chico doesn’t deverse your cariño." she said trying to calm down. The new Jasmine yelled in Spanish and Latin now once she got angry. It sometimes confused people, since they didn’t know what was coming out of her mouth. Looking back at her friend, a sincere smile spread across her face. "You know what Vanessa. Don’t worry about that boy. He doesn’t deserve you now. I am glad that guy that I like doesn’t cheat..." She said but stopped herself from saying more. Could Jasmine really tell her friend about this special some one? It was so hard to talk about, since she hadn’t seen him in a while. Was he trying to avoid her or something?
Sighing Jasmine tucked a lock of black hair behind her ears and admired the red highlights. Rosaline suggested that Jasmine should change her hair in more Spanish like, and always wanted her niece to feel more at home. Jasmine couldn’t stop smiling about her new life. Happiness glowed inside of her seeming to make her more sociable and understanding towards different people. It not like Jasmine didn’t want to be friends with people who were in different cultures, it was just that she was a shy young lady, and always kept to herself. About to speak again she giggled as the two rolled down a hill. Her robes were now dirty and her hair all static. Jasmine rolled over on her side and sat up in the grass picking strands of blades from the earth. Noticing two daises in the corner she picked two and put one behind Vanessa’s ear. "There now that’s beautiful!" she said with a smile and put a daisy behind her own ear.
The wind began to blow lightly at the girls as Jasmine continued to pick blades from the earth. Her bare legs began to have goes bumps crawling all over but she didn’t care. Being next to her best-friend was al she could ever ask for. Deep in thought, Jasmine wondered if to tell Vanessa about her new life. Not about scoring high on OWL.s but actually asking a boy out. But she didn’t want her friend to go all loca on her. Turning towards Vanessa, she smiled and tired to speak. "Well I really can’t say this unless you promise not to freak okay?" she said after a long moments of award silence.

Vanessa fiddled with the flower that was behind her ear. It reminded her of home. She sighed and listened to Jasmine say she must promise not to freak out. It must be good if Jasmine was making her promise to something as dumb as that. Vanessa nodded her head in response, "I promise." She muttered with a smile on her face. It was then that she rolled on her back and looked up at the cloudless sky, the sun shining down and englufing her in a ray of warmth. It had been so cold recently, and Vanessa was getting sick of all the snow and rain. She enjoyed the sun, it reminded her of the Sunflower field in her back yard. How she missed that. Aryeh was at home, helping her Aunt and Uncle, and she had no way of contacting any of them at the moment, considering they are remodeling the house and they moved. So she doesn't know where they were.
Vanessa was waiting for Jasmine to tell her the secret, as she propped herself up on her elbow and looked at the lake. She smiled and thought of how serene it was. Vanessa missed doing this. Just sitting and looking at the beauty of things, when she was with Anna and them, there was no chance to look at how pretty things are. They were too busy checking out guys and things like that. There were times Vanessa just wanted to make them shut up and pay attention to the sunrise or the stars or something. She never did though. Figured she didn't want to lose them as well as she lost Jasmine. After all, Vanessa wanted friends. But, she wasn't sure if she wanted those friends. They made fun of everyone, mocked, mimicked, called people names. Used American slang like "retard" and when Vanessa told them "retard or to be retarded means to hinder, or to be held back." They would always look at her weirdly. So she stopped that, the first day or so she hung out with them. BUt, silently grimaced when they did such things.
That's what Vanessa liked about Jasmine. She was aware of other people's feelings. She would never say such things, or do anything of the sort. Homeless people were people too. Not, lower beings. They just aren't as lucky as some people in the world. Why people treat them differently was beyond Vanessa, because she would never treat them differently. Everyone's equal, according to Vanessa. And if you can't treat someone like they're nothing, think of how they think of you. Vanessa didn't want to be known as someone who makes fun of or does mean things to people who aren't the same. She wanted to be known as someone who will help them, and protect them.
