Kris smirked at Pyro’s words. The name itself – Pyro – probably did cause many comments: “So what’s the problem? You have been disowned, so I think you could change your first name as well. Or at least pick up one more first name.”
Kris noticed Cassandra’s shock when Mary and Pyro mentioned him torturing muggles and raised an eye-brow towards the Gryffindor girl: “Shocked, Cassandra? Don’t forget that even when we don’t make torturing muggles our every-day hobby, doesn’t mean that deep down we are Slytherins. We are sly and cunning and manipulative - and love every moment of it.”
Kris’s eyes traveled to the sky once again as he thought a little: “Pyro isn’t a part of the Blackfire’s anymore, so his father shouldn’t cause any trouble. And even when he tried, he can be forced to back away without any problems with the same reason.”
Kris frowned, as he discovered he didn’t have any knowledge about Pyro’s mother. Kris usually knew about the ancestors and immediate parents of pure-bloods – it was extremely useful. “Is your mother still alive? If not, then you are entitled to half of your mother’s fortune – not even disowning you can change that fact,” Kris asked and pushed his hand through his hair, “If I go on like this, I’m going to start sounding like a bloody lawyer.”
Mary simply rolled her eyes as Pyro said he couldn’t intrude like that. She didn’t bother to correct him; fact was she would convince him soon enough no point doing it that very moment. She couldn’t help but giggle remembering the demise of Alton. Mary however raised her eyebrow at him when he mentioned an dieing in an explosion being a tragedy because of the pretty face. “What pretty face? I thought we were talking about you… Honestly honey, are you that incapable of keeping your thoughts off me?” she asked him with a smirk. She knew they were being serious there but Pyro had set the hook and she couldn’t help but take the bait; it was what they did.
It was then she heard Kris talking to Cassandra about muggle torturing. He had made it seem that was something every Slytherin did because of the traits Mary was proud to possess. “Sly, cunning, and manipulative I agree with but honestly Kris… I have never once tortured a muggle it is not what makes a Slytherin; how dare you insinuate that? It may take determination to be put into Slytherin but that does not mean that we all enjoy such distasteful pastimes.” Mary screamed at him appalled at her lack of ability to convey her disgust at his insinuation.
This was especially because next to Dana Kris is the person who knew most how upset Mary could get when its implied that it’s a Slytherin trait to be sadistic. She remembered a conversation she had had with Dana in a classroom the other day where she was so distraught by Dana’s saying Mary could become heartless she shattered a desk and sent a number of books flying around the room. Mary used to be amused by the common perception of Slytherin house but lately she found herself offended by it. Kris was actually quite lucky Mary had her head enough not to start flinging things at him at that very moment. Blood still boiling Mary listened to Kris ask Pyro about his mother.
Still too angry to utter a word Mary decided making things fly wouldn’t be such a bad stress reliever after all even though she wouldn’t direct them at Kris. She just wished she had her beaters bat and a bludger at that moment; beater was always her favoured position. Taking out her wand she magically chucked snowballs at the side of the school imagining each stone she hit as Kris’ face.

Pyro cast a worried glance over at Cassandra. It was great of mary to bring that up at this particular time. "well, its not like it was, torture, torture. More, just some, um....pranks.." Again pyro offered no resistence when she took his wrist and looked at it. He shook his head and gently pulled it out of her hand. "no, I dont think it will be neccesary, just got to rest it for a bit, im sure it will heal on its on."
Pyro turned back to Kris and smirked. "Hmm, no matter how much I hate it, I think im gonna stick with pyro, ive stuck with it for so long, it would be to much of a bother to have to get used to a new one." He fell quiet for a moment when his mother was brought into it. Oh yes, he thought, remember his dear mother. He scoffed. "heh, mom, theres a bundel of warmth. All she is basicly a puppet for dad. Id be surprised if she even has her own fortune."
HE turned to mary and frowned, but it soon grew into a slight grin. "Oh yes, Im sorry mary, right now isnt the time for me to be daydreaming about my fantasies now is it?" he looked closely into her eyes. than sighed. "Your not gonna let me back out of going to your place are you?"

Not torture, torture? Cass thougt to herself. Torture's torture. She caught his eye. " Well, if you want a place to stay, you can still stay with my family. Craig is always looking for people to teach martial arts classes, but I would understand if you didn't want too. I mean, it would probably more comfortable for you to stay with a pure-blood family. I know that were you believe you belong." She said this very half-heartedly. She was getting very upset. Not only was she upset that she totally believed he was a reformed Slytherin, but how foolish she had been. But he was her friend, and she still did care about him. Plus, she felt sort of responsible for this. She couldn't help but feel that their friendship was the cause of the situation.
Cass backed away from him and went back to sitting against the wall. She really just wanted him to make the decision that was good for him.

The snowballs slowed down and Mary grinned at Pyro as he chastised himself for fantasizing about her. She was about to reply that she was most certainly not going to let him out of staying with her when Cassandra spoke. She offered her home to him as well and Mary wasn’t going to comment until he did. It would be social suicide in the pureblood realm of course for him to move in with someone who did not have a long pureblood family line and considering she was a Gryffindor and Mary couldn’t place her last name from anywhere Mary suspected Cassandra was a half blood at most. Mr. Blackfire would be laughing rather than regretful and there was no way Pyro could begin a new line if he did that. But that was just Mary’s thinking and maybe he didn’t mind. Mary was by no means a pureblood enthusiast but she most certainly knew the advantage of having a “respected” name. So she was just going to let Pyro make his decision…
The splat of the snowballs against the wall suddenly ceased and a loud crash could be heard by all within ten feet though as Mary shattered a nearby bench without even bothering to throw it against the wall. “I mean, it would probably more comfortable for you to stay with a pure-blood family. I know that’s were you believe you belong.” She had heard Cassandra say and Mary turned on the girl with venom.
“How dare you?” Mary said to her in a low biting tone, which showed just how annoyed she was. “So people can be proud of their muggle heritage but not a pureblood one is that it? Its all well and good for someone to rather stay in a muggleborns home because that’s how they were raised but should a pureblood rather stay in a pureblood home suddenly they think themselves superior? He will be an evil arrogant Slytherin if he chooses to stay in my home rather than yours?” Mary continued just glaring at the girl taken aback by her audacity. If she wanted Pyro to stay with her that was all well and good but for her to insinuate that Pyro was a bad person, an arrogant pureblood propagandist, should he choose to stay with a pureblood family… Most Slytherins Mary knew wouldn’t hit that low below the belt and this Gryffie did it without batting an eye.

Cass sighed when the girl turned on her. " No offense meant. I'm not going to go over my living condition with you or for no one for that matter. Pyro knows the situation and that is all that matters. I just think it would be a bit better because then he wouldn't be pressured to buy the best name out there. You do realize that is what Kris is suggesting?" She stared the girl down. She couldn't care where Pyro stayed, she honestly just wanted him to make the decision that was right for him. " Personally, I don't think many pureblood wizards would want to stay with a mudblood like me." She spat that last sentence out, disgusted with her own parentage.
She looked at Pyro but addressed the group. " Look, its just a suggestion. At least with me you wouldn't be pressured to choose something. You could be away, and be able to make an informed decision." That's all I want you to do. Most people in the muggleworld couldn't care what family you came from, and you wouldn't be smeared with propaganda from the every family that wanted you to join." She said this very slowly and quietly, " I'm just worried about you. I don't want you to end up in a bad situation."
She also said off handedly, " Personally, I don't think you should change your first name. I've always really liked Pyro."
She turned back to the girl. " I'm sorry I offended you, but if you want to discuss my personal living situation and family life, you can make an appointment later. Right now is not the time. We need to take care of Pyro."

“Your mother was a pure-blood so naturally she brought some of his families fortune into the marriage. You have the rights for half of that money, however small or big that sum might be. That would be calculated by the Ministry Officials. Here some nicely chosen words from Mary’s parents or my legal guardians might help you. Unless your mother says you aren’t going to be her son anymore either,” Kris commented calmly watching as Mary started sending some snow-balls towards the wall, guessing that she would much rather hit Kris with the snow-balls, “I know the laws in France, but the basics are the same in all over the world.”
Kris grimaced as Pyro admitted to dreaming about Mary, but didn’t get angry as he recognized the joke in the statement as well: “Do keep your dreams private, Pyro, will you? I doubt my ears could stand hearing your dreams about my little sis.” Kris grimaced towards both Pyro and Mary.
“There are two rules while arguing with a woman. Rule one: let the woman calm down first. Rule two: Just because it's true it doesn't mean you should say it,” Kris muttered very silently so his words wouldn’t reach Mary and Cassandra as Kris watched the now broken bench emotionlessly. Pyro – a proud pure-blood and to live with muggles? Not to mention it would be laughed at the other pure-blooded families, if would be unheard of. Kris himself had to suppress a shudder at the suggestion – it may have been made with good wishes, but it would never work. “I agree with Mary this time,” Kris commented much more calmly after Mary had finished her rant. But a dangerous or irritated glint– Kris didn’t know even himself what emotion was strongest – flashed through his eyes, “Are you suggesting that we shouldn’t be proud of our pure-blooded ancestory that we can trace back for centuries? I am rather proud of the fact that I can trace my blood-line back to the 13th century, so yes, we belong with others like us - pure-bloods.”
Oh no. Pyro thought. He could see a fight comming between Cassandra and Mary. He was about to step between them. He was standing near Kris so he heard Kris's whisper. Pyro cast a sideways glance at Kris, and figured it was better to do it that way. He looked at Cassandra. "listen, I agree with them that I cant live with you. But who knows, maybe ill get some free time and ill be able to visit ya sometime."
He turned to Kris. "Well, if all mom has to do is disown me also, than im pretty sure its already done. If dad was to say 'jump' mother would reply with 'how high?' its really sad. and beside, all the fortune that my mother brought into the family went into the Blackfire account. and since ive been disowned from the Blackfire name, theres no chance of me getting into the account."

(( Hopefully you wont mind me joining. One person from this post said it was alright. Dont worry Cassandra, I wont hurt you. Im not in that type of mood )) On her firebolt, Dawn practice a few shots with an extra quaffle, down at the pitch. She had daily practices. Different people from her team practiced by theirselves as well, it was normal. After nearly an hour passed, Dawn picked the red iron ball off the ground, and started on her way back to the school. She was breathing heavily as you could see the stream form from her mouth into the crisp air. Quidditch was her favorite thing to do. She was extremely passionate about it- hence one of the reasons she was Slytherin Captian. Deciding to take the 'long way' back to the castle oak doors, Dawn circled the school. Suddenly she spotted a group of people. Quickly she made out three of them were Slytherin, in fact two of those Slytherin's were on the Quidditch team. Floating around for a few moments, undetected, Dawn evesdropped on the conversation. Hearing Kris, mumble something about how to deal with a girl when she is angry intreged her to come into the conversation. Quickly after he spoke- Pyro said something about being disowned from his family. Dawn narrowed her eyes as her hair quickly flicked backward in a cool breeze. Holding her quaffle at ready, Dawn spoke out loud, "Pyro! Think fast!" She said as she tossed the quaffle over to him. He was a felllow chaser on the team, the red quaffle would sure spark his interest. Lowering herself on her broom, she hovered six feet off the ground. Crossing her arms at her chest, and noticed a Gryffindor standing there. Glancing at her she spoke to Kris. " Of course Kris, Try to study us women. But dont get to caught up- we can change our ways pretty quickly." she said slowing her words down towards the end. Winking at the 5th year, she grinned as she lowered herself the rest of the way towards the ground. Mounding off her firebolt, she sat it up straight as she leaned on it. Looking towars Mary, she noticed she was on the edge. 'Suppose our roles have switched.' Dawn thought to herself, Mary seemed tense where as Dawn was carefree. Shrugging it off, she grinned at her as she did as well with Pyro and Kris. The two Gryffindor's stood there. One girl, named.. Crissy, Crass, Cass.. Something.. seemed to be talking slightly before she arrived. The other was silent. Merely glancing at her, she took a breath. "Mr. Blackfire, so... you've been disowned?" Dawn tryed to hold back some astonishment. Normally a pureblood family would stick together. Of course Everyone has their ups and downs- Dawn's family has major problems- but she would never be 'disowned'. "How did this come into action?" she asked as she seemed a bit worried. She would actually hate to see a pureblood family fall under.

Kris noticed Dawn approaching on his broom and with a swift movement, caught the quaffle she threw himself and sent a charming smile towards Dawn.: “Oh, don’t worry. I admire girls and find them absolutely awesome, but I know better than to get too deep into a girl’s head. I’m not even sure I’d want to know what I might find in there. I’m content with admiring from a safe distance.”
Kris twirled the quaffle in his hands for a moment, before throwing it calmly back. Kris wasn’t a fanatic of quidditch, but he was good enough on the broom and with the ball. It was a good work-out, but Kris didn’t really care much further than that. Kris didn’t answer to Dawn’s question about Pyro being disowned, as that was Pyro’s thing to do. Looking up into the sky, Kris let out a long breath – trying to readjust to his new living-adjustments would be tough on Pyro as he was used to the best. But he was too prideful to ask for very much as well, so it was a closed ring pretty much. Kris figured that he would be much worse in a situation like that probably though. Or maybe not. Kris wasn’t really sure, as he couldn’t imagine something like that happening to himself. As his parents were both dead it even couldn’t’ happen to him. ((I think MAry said that I don't mind at all either ))

As Mary listened the girl began complaining about her family situation and trying to justify her audacious statement. ‘Blah, blah, blah, blah’ was all that ran through Mary’s mind as Cassandra to spoke. All she heard was Cassandra once more bring up her family and attempt to chastise Mary for “asking” about it. Mary couldn’t take it anymore this person who had offended her acting as if Mary were the wrong one. “If you cared to listen I never asked about your situation I asked how you could dare insinuate that Pyro would be a bad person for choosing to stay in the realm of purebloods.” Mary said to her in the same low voice.
She grinned at Kris as he said he agreed with her and that he was proud of his bloodline. She however raised an eyebrow as he stated that they did belong with others like them… She had never so much as insinuated that; it was a personal decision as far as she was concerned. Unsure of what to say Mary help her peace and watched as Dawn descended on the group.
Being a member of the Slytherin Quidditch team Mary had interacted with Dawn often enough but their last meeting had not been pleasant. In fact they had been on opposing sides of a duel. She gave Dawn a court nod in greeting but kept her mouth closed. Dawn began speaking to Kris and Pyro and asked why Pyro had been disowned. At this point she listened with interest wondering the answer herself.

((meh, I dont care, Dawn is technically an acquaintance )) Pyro heard a shout from behind him and he whirled around. He saw a red blur fly at him. he brought his hand up to catch it and would have too had it not been for another hand that appeared out of no where and snatched the object away. Pyro turned to kris and looked at the object and saw it was a quidditch quaffle. He looked and saw Dawn landing near by. Pyro had never really talked much with Dawn, but she was captain of the Quidditch and he was a fellow Chaser. He kept quiete and alowed Kris a few words with dawn before he adressed Dawns question. "yes, I am no longer a Blackfire." He shruged. "Well, me and my father have always been having fights. He wasnt a very good fist fighter so he used magic, and Im not allowed to do magic at school so I used a indirect way of fighting. I would disgrace my father in front of the ministry and other important bodies, Which in turn, brought some amount of shame to the Blackfire name. So I suppose instead of admiting defeat, father chose to remove me from the blackfire family. And there you basicly have it." He said to her. Pyro looked at mary and noticed her slight attitude towards dawn, He shook it away and filed it in his mind for some later time.

Listing, very intrigued, Dawn crossed her arms at her chest as Pyro went on. Her eyes widdened as he went on. She understood about fights, her and her father did them all the time- but she would never go in front of the ministry... that was a bit over the line, but life must have been that bad for him. In the pit of her stomach she had a feeling of discomfort, pitty if anything. Very odd... Dawn never felt pitty. Still looking at Pyro, she spoke- "So,If there is no more 'Pyro Blackfire', what is there going to be?" Dawn asked as she notice Kris toss back the quaffle. Catching it softly, The Leather from her quidditch gloves gripped the ball.
Looking away from Pyro for a moment, her eye fellon Kris and Mary. Mary's look towards Dawn seemed a bit colder than the weather itself. Noticing this, she narrowed her eyes. Thinking back to the last time they were seen together- they were in a feud. Shaking her head slightly, Dawn shrugged it off. 'She'll get over it.' she thought to herself.
"Do you have a branch of family to go to? A mother, aunt, uncle, grandparent?" Dawn said as she tryed to think of the Blackfire family tree in her mind.

Cass who was completely content to sit against the wall and never say another word, nearly gulped when one of the so-called Queens of Slytherin approached. She had already had one run in with that group, and did not particularly look forward to another. She actually gripped her left shoulder, the one Pyro had put a hole through and the one that got aggravated by the Queens several days later.
Cass turned to Mary. " And as I explained to you, I never insinuated anything. No offense meant. I apologize." Cass really didn't want to get into it with Mary. She wasn't there to cause anymore problems for her friends.
She leaned back against the wall, content to be quiet. Watching Dawn come into the picture was odd, Mary quickly quietened down at her approach. Cass was a bit surprised by this.

Pyro cast a sideways glance at Cassandra, noticing her unease around Dawn. He than brought his attention back to Dawn. He caught a certain look in her eyes, it was there for just a second. but he spotted it. he was surprised. it looked strangely like pitty. Suddenly the Quaffle came back into view and a thought struck him. What if she thought he wasnt gonna be up and ready for quidditch? he might not get to play if that was the case.
he shook his head at her question. "No I dont, well, I do have an aunt and uncle. But they want nothing to do with anyone from my family, disowned or not. so they are definatly not an option." he looked at her for a short moment. "Theres nothing to worry about though, this is just a minor nuissance. It wont effect me in anyway, ill still be able to play Quidditch."

Dawn watch Pyro. She never really had a conversation with him, ever. Lately Dawn was in a good mood. Probably the reason for all of problems hasn't been around, so with this few found, contentness, she decided to use it to its best amount. Before it was soon gone.
Thinking for a moment, Dawn actually wanted to help Pyro. She had links- that she could try to hook him up with a good pureblood family, but she didnt want to intrude. She thought again, intruding is her specialty. Noting that in her mind, she agreed with herself she would Owl her father first thing back to the castle.
Looking over at the Gryffindor, she spoke towards Mary. She seemed a bit afraid to be around Dawn, she sensed it. Thinking back- she remembered her name, Cassandra. She remembered the year she was sorted into the Gryffindor house. She was a full muggle. With in inhale, Dawn looked at her, and back at Pyro. She noticed Pyro's look towards her, and knew right then and there- he had feelings for her. Clenching her teeth- she held back her words. She knew this was not the time and place for it. A once in a life time phenomenom, just happened, Dawn held back.
Her personality was changing. It changed as well the year before, but this time- instead of developing the strong temper, she is learning how to control it. Looking away from the Gryffindor, she knew she was making her uncomfortable. 'Rather that, than physically hurting her.' Dawn thought as she looked back at Pyro.
Listening to his words about Quidditch she nodded. "Dont be naive. It will effect you." Dawn said as she shook her head at him. "But dont worry, Your starter possition is still in tact, untill you tell me you wont beable to fufill your role as a chaser. That was the whole reason you are a starer and in fact a starter Chaser along side me. I can rely on you. You will only be replaced when you tell me you can't do something." Dawn spoke in words of ease to him. Pausing for a moment she spoke up. "I dont mean to sound so, involved..... nevermind... I do. But, If you don't mind, It would be no trouble to me at all if you wanted me to contact my father. He could contact someone and find you some family to live with. Or he could assit you with money and guide you into how to find a living area of your own."
Dawn finished, she was actually honest with everything she said- who knew if he understood. Other than the Astor and the Wood family- Dawn was willing to bring her father into someone new's life. He was a bullheaded man, but he was very substantial and reliable.
(( Sorry for the length, didnt mean for my post to stick out. I wont write this long- much more. ))

Cassandra finally answered Mary’s rant in a way Mary took as placation once more. “Sure, whatever.” She said distractedly while listening to Pyro’s explanation of why he had been disowned. She turned around and stared at him, if she had any less self-control her mouth would be gapping open. “In front of the ministry of magic… on purpose… often? Wow… I mean no matter what my parents did I would never purposefully disgrace the Evans name in front of people whom I may need. Why would you do that? What would happen if you ever needed to use the Blackfire influence but couldn’t because you lost it?” she asked him astonished.
She listened as Dawn asked what Pyro would be if not a Blackfire; she in fact wondered often what she would do without being an Evans. She had never came up with an answer in fact and it drove her crazy. She had to pacify her mother all the time just to make sure that it couldn’t happen; not that her parents would ever do anything like that lest its absolutely necessary but she didn’t want to test that. So distracted was she that she barely acknowledged Pyro and Dawn’s chat about his alternatives and then Quidditch. She did come back on time though to hear Dawn’s offer to find Pyro a respectable family.
She gave Dawn a genuine smile before speaking. “While it is a nice offer I'm afraid it won't be necessary. Pyro will be living as a member of the Evans family until he leaves of his own choosing.” She then turned to Pyro, he had said ok before but she didn’t want him to change his mind. “No debates yes you are end of question.”
Kris had been rather silent throughout the conversation observing the emotions and thoughts flickering on everybody’s eyes and faces and listening to the words being said. Amusement flickered through Kris’s eyes as Dawn offered to contact his father as well and after Mary’s words Kris finally spoke up with a lazy drawl that suited him so well, while half-closing his eyes and tilting his head back to look up into the sky: “For a guy so withdrawn and moody you sure have a lot of people offering you a place to stay. And they say Slytherins only think for themselves.”
It was one thing to have arguments and problems with one’s parents – who didn’t have them from time to time? But Kris didn’t really understood how could Pyro disgrace his family-name. It wasn’t just his fathers- it was… It had been his as well. In Kris’s opinion family-problems belong in the family and on the outside a good face should be put up. Of course this wasn’t just a small family-problem anymore right now. “Looks like you’re pretty set on living with Mary, as she would probably have your head if you don’t,” Kris raised his eye-brow towards Mary, with a slight tilt of his head, as if asking why she had tensed up at Dawn’s approach. Sure, they had been faced in a duel once, but time had moved on since then. Besides how could they play quidditch together and be good at it, while they were at each-others throats all the time. “Will I be expecting you – Pyro – as well as Mary to come and visit me in Italy this summer then?” Kris asked in a rather easy tone – it wouldn’t be any problem actually – one of the plusses of being independantly wealthy.

Pyro blew a sigh of relieve when he heard about his quidditch position. he would be emotionally fine to play. And he only needed a week or so untill his wrist became fully fuctional. No problems. he looked up at Dawn, "well, I wont be needing a place to stay for this comming up summer. As Mary has so kindly put it I will be staying with her family. But, I wouldnt mind getting the wheel rolling on finding my own place and finding a income untill I can get out of school and begin my own career. So contacting your father would be greatly appreciated."
He turned to Mary at her question. "I was more hoping to destroy the reputation of the Blackfire name with my fathers name attached to it. I was hoping that after his reputation was ruined I could move in and somehow, hadnt figured out how as of yet, restore the faith of the Blackfire name only with my name attached to it." He shruged. "but, I suppose that dosnt matter now anymore."
He than to turned to kris. "Well..." he turned to look at Mary. "that all depends on if Mary wants to drag me along. or leave me at her house."

Pyro explained that he was attempting to destroy his fathers name, not all the Blackfires and Mary simply sighed. ‘Such twisted logic’ she though. Whatever happened to family unity? She didn’t press the subject though knowing it didn’t matter anyways; the damage was done and it was his name that had been dragged through the mud.
Mary smirked at Kris as he told Pyro she would have his head did he not go with her. Fact was it was just so true; Kris knew her well. Pyro then semi-questioned whether he would be brought to Italy. “Oh don't be silly of course I wouldn’t banish you to two weeks alone with my parents. Kris has more than enough room for the three of us, do you not?” she questioned know that it would be perfectly fine with Kris for her to bring Pyro along. “We will be spending the first two weeks of summer in Italy then the rest I am not allowed to leave Evans property because I have to entertain my cousin and his friends.” She told them with a roll of her eyes, hating the idea of playing hostess to a bunch of pureblood propagandists from Durmstang.
